Panda Express at Universal Citywalk is a mixed bag. Many appreciate the reasonable prices and large portions, especially the honey sesame chicken and noodles. However, some customers report inconsistent portion sizes, rude service, and subpar food quality, like salty rice or burnt flavors.

Visited x2 times. Once late evening after Halloween horror nights and once for lunch. Both perfectly fine. Staff nice enough and food good value. Good cheap quick service food.
Panda Express at CityWalk is always busy, but the staff deserves more credit for the patience they show. Prisha, Calie, April, and Nesly were fantastic and very kind during my visit. It is easy to judge a staff member’s energy, but until you have worked a shift dealing with theme park crowds, you have no idea. These four are gems. I hope they get a chance to relax and recharge soon!
I have to say I was skeptical after the reviews but I have to say everything was great. The girls at the counters were very nice and pleasant. The food portions were very large as shown in the picture. And this price for the amount of food is simply unbeatable in city walk. Definitely recommend this place!
Just wanted to say thank you to Anaya for her lovely service on the initiating role of the line. Super efficient in her service and lovely at the same time, greeted us with a smiling face even though the store was very busy. Also wanted to shout out Owen for lovely service also.
Extremely busy, fresh food, delicious tasting, gave us ample sauces, and they were very efficient. Definitely worth a try. A plus is they don't offer lids or straws with their drinks. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Panda coupons work here.
I had a group of 10 at Universal. We ordered two family meals (which serves 5-6 people per meal). The family meals proved to be the cheapest way to feed my crowd of 2 adults and 8 children and we had leftovers to bring back home, we just stuck the leftovers in our cooler bag and it worked out just fine. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. Will definitely eat here again on subsequent trips to Universal.
i wondered why the ratings are low but maybe its because its a busy branch (located in the center of the tourist places) and experiences might differ a lot by customers. But i loved this branch!! I visited around 21:50(right before closing) and the food was all hot&tasty. I think they make food right away because the food goes sold out quickly. Also the portion was huge !!! biggest portion ive ever had in Panda. However since its a really busy place, the worker might confuse your order so make sure u keep your eye on your plate ! Dont expect good service btw, cause its in again,BUSY tourist area, but i was okay with that.
The workers were less than enthusiastic but the product was same as you can get from any Panda location. I particularly like their firecracker shrimp, if I choose to eat here. It’s not a memorable experience but if you want to just pick up some food and go this will do.
This kind of ruined my memory of Panda Express... As a Canadian, I actually really look forward to eating Panda Express when I come to the US. The first time I ever tried it was actually at this location, at Universal Florida. I remember the portion being bigger, and the dishes being tastier and more authentic. The kung pao chicken blew me away. Unfortunately, this time the food was not up to par and the portions were really small. I went home and ordered Shake Shack, and by no means am I a person who eats a lot! The meat dishes were okay but the fried rice and lo mien were disappointing. Unfortunately most of the plate was rice and noodles, rather than meat or veggies. We didn't come back the rest of our trip.
This Panda Express is part of Universal Citywalk’s food court on the second floor. There’s a few other fast food options near it, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s loud and cramped just like most food courts. The workers were less than enthusiastic but the product was same as you can get from any Panda location. I particularly like their firecracker shrimp, if I choose to eat here. It’s not a memorable experience but if you want to just pick up some food and go this will do.
The waiting time in line is approximately 10 minutes. As I usually do I ordered a Bigger Plate, unlike other locations, in this one the entrees and sides, all they go in the same container, which causes an unpleasant mix between all the ingredients. The best of the dinner was the teriyaki chicken and the noodles. The opposite with the pepper steak, too much sauce, tasteless and excess of vegetables. About customer service It wasn’t the best, the staff wasn’t friendly and apparently he was bothered by customers' questions. Also they don’t have straws for drinks
Panda Express? I give them credit for cooking the food fast. The negative? Poor amount of food. Really. The cost was high, expected. But, not enough food. See image below. Seriously, it was like one small scoop of each item. Don’t waste your money here. Not recommended I’m calling them out!! Poor!!
We came here to get a bite to eat, but the experience was not too pleasant. The food was great, but some of the staff was just not in a great mood. The guy there was absolutely amazing, but the lady at the registers was in a very grumpy mood. Didnt give me a lid for my drink, not even a straw, she didnt hand it to me, she just dropped it on the drink machine, wasnt filled all the way, (i could go on forever). Not a great experience with her at all. 2/5
Came here after spending the day in the universal parks. Maybe spent 5 minutes in the queue to be served. I asked for half and half egg fried rice and the noodles, plus orange and honey chicken. The only thing I'd eat again is the honey chicken (was decent but had better elsewhere) The noodles were cold and flavourless, the rice also didn't really taste of anything and were barely warm and the orange chicken was okay but left a really nasty, acidic after taste. Interaction with staff can't be faltered and cleaner had just cleaned the table as we approached which was appreciated but I wouldn't go back to eat there any time soon.
Came here because everything else was closed today. Rice was way too salty, Told the cashier lady thanks merry Christmas and gave me a cold stare and said nothing. Was super nice but she was rude for absolutely no reason. The whole vibe at this place feels off. Usually panda express are warm and welcoming. It felt like here they were just trying to rush through everything. Would not recommend even if you are on vacation here.
Let me start by saying I love Panda Express and eat there once per week. On Sunday night while leaving Universal, we stopped at Panda Express at 8:55 PM. I checked hours before making the decision to eat at a nicer restaurant downstairs or grab something quick upstairs and they were open until 10 PM. Upon entering there was a line which is to be expected. To expedite, a manager was working the line to take orders and write it on the box. I said big plate with one black pepper sirloin when she abruptly cut me off and said it would be a twenty minute wait as they were out. I said ok, give me the two entree plate with double black pepper chicken. She became frustrated as she marked the box then started writing on a new box. Minutes after she went to the counter and gave them the orders. Upon my arrival at the counter the employee grabbed my box and said we are out of black pepper chicken and the manager told the kitchen to stop cooking so what do you want. The kitchen looked bewildered considering the line and the halt in good prep and just stood there. I said I don’t even like it but I guess just give me teriyaki chicken. Small portions were given as I believe the employees were afraid to also run out of that. When I got to the employee to pay, she rang me up for big plate with sirloin and black pepper chicken. When I told her I only got a double because they were out, she audibly sighed and opened the box. She still rang up pepper chicken but reduced it to a double. She was very rude and rolled her eyes at me. She shoved the receipt at me and I then ask for teriyaki and soy, she basically threw them at me and turned around. By the time we had finished eating, there was still a line in of at least 20 people and the kitchen had started cooking again. This is by far the absolute worse experience I have ever had with Panda Express. I will NEVEr eat at the location in City Walk and may never return to another location again. Be aware, this location is rude and the kitchen will stop cooking on a dime even with a line full of people that have already ordered their meal.
This Panda Express location really misses the mark. The Chicken Teriyaki was disappointing — pre-chopped, overcooked, and drenched in sauce. Typically, Panda Express serves freshly grilled chicken thighs with a nice char, sliced to order with a butcher knife as it’s plated. That’s the experience customers expect, no matter the location. Please uphold the same quality and consistency across all stores.
This could have easily been a 5-star experience, but a few things completely ruined it. First, the servers only gave my daughter vegetables in her Kung Po Chicken no actual chicken. The fried rice tasted burnt, which was disappointing. But the worst part was the cashier, Nelsey, who was extremely miserable and unfriendly, making our lunch feel uncomfortable. If customer service is part of the job, then please at least try to treat people kindly.
