It was my daughter 16th birthday on Aug 23rd and it started from the host, to our server and then another server who all made it a great night for us. We was a party of 11 and phonics made sure we sat close by because of the time we went, we was not able to sit together which was fined with us. Adam was a great server and took good care of us. Then comes Kristina who offered to take our group picture without we asking. The food was very enjoyable as well. We enjoyed ourselves and will go back if we in Cali again.

We loved the outdoor patio seating with the great weather. We were seated pretty quickly and served promptly. The salmon and prosciutto sandwich were amazing.

VIVO was a wonderful experience! Everything about it was enjoyable. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was great! Dan served us in a timely fashion and was fun to talk to! The hostess was kind and very helpful. It was an overall wonderful dinner experience!

Everything we ate was delicious - from fried ricotta to the Caesar salad to the sausage ragu and pizza. The ambiance was also very nice and the service (thanks Sydney!) was great! We ate here after a long day walking around islands of adventure and couldn’t have picked a better place to end the day when we needed to relax and eat good food.

The service, atmosphere and food were all excellent. Went with two buddies, has the lasagna, spicy pork sausage and chicken parm. All three were fantastic. Weather was perfect so we sat outside and people watched. Just great.

Everything looks good on the menu. Finally try the seafood risotto, sausage ragu, and the kids Mac & cheese. The risotto was just a bit sour. Everything was good and even. Sausage Ragu******Delicious~ I love the sausage. Sometimes Italian sausage too salty for me, but this one just perfect. Seafood Risotto **** the plate a little bit sour. Mac & Cheese **** tasted good. The kids love it. Bread**** hand made warm fresh. Thumbs up!

If you are exhausted with Universal whole day and want to have a sit down dinner and taken care of - this is the place. They have great drinks and food. Their Brussel sprouts and pasta selections are very good. Not much special but it hits the spot. Will surely be back again.

Universal City’s better food options. The food was very tasty and well portioned. Not to pricy either. The restaurant wasn’t too busy for a Thursday night. I can imagine it being a lot busier on the weekend with universal studio foot traffic. Our waiter Devan was friendly and helpful with suggestions. Look forward to returning.

We came here with no reservations and had no issue getting a table. The menu is a little limited. Our waitress was really friendly, and helped us make an adjustment to a dish. We got the margherita pizza and two primavera pastas. The primavera pasta is listed to come with seasonal vegetables, but really wished it specified that it came with mushrooms as I’m not much of a fan. The pasta was still great and enjoyed it. It was 54 total, we didn’t get alcohol. We had a great experience and would eat here again.

I really love the food here. Chef Tran is doing an amazing job. The food is delicious and fresh and the staff is really friendly. I'd 100% recommend this place to anyone and I certainly WILL be coming back!

This is such a comfort place for my girlfriend and I. One of our perfect date nights is going to Citywalk and checking out the stores and then grabbing a drink and some appetizers at VIVO. We've been there multiple times and I think we've just walked in to the bar area every time. Drinks are so good. The Bees Knees and the Lemontini are delicious. This time we got the meatballs and some bread for an appetizer but in the past we have gotten the lasagna and spaghetti which were both insane as well. The bartender Jay we have seen a couple times and always chops it up with us. Great staff and meals at VIVO. We'll be back many more times.

Excellent service, staff and even more so the FOOD! I have celiac disease so finding places that are safe can be a hassle. Finding quality food that tastes extremely good is also a struggle… but NOT here! *If you are like me and need reassurance and accommodations this is your place to stop.* Mouth watering appetizers and dishes. Arpee the hostess was welcoming from the start over the phone, super friendly and helpful in person and a lovely person overall. David was the star today, excellent service. He was on top of everything so quick and smart. The chefs offered quality and excellence as well. Score! S/O VIVO! You guys rock.

Great Food, Steve was a great server. The place was cool with good air flow and air conditioning. The food came out quicker than expected and the bread was excellent. The food was priced fairly for the quality and plated nicely.

Got dinner after a long day at the park. It took about 15-20 minutes for a table of 5. The server was great and the food was excellent. My wife and kids were all very happy with the food which was a nice way to end the day.

Awesome food! At first I thought it was small for the price but oh did the taste make up for it! The pizza wasn't oily, it was freshly made and the pasta was amazing! And don't get me started on the service being amazing and so friendly to complement the environment! Would come again 100%!

The food was great; it tasted fresh and was brought to us in a timely manner. It did not sit too heavily in my stomach afterward. We ordered the garlic cheese bread, which came with six pieces. It was well-toasted and did not have too much garlic. We also got calamari, which was fresh and not too fishy tasting. For my main dish, I ordered the Tre Carne calzone. It was fresh and well-toasted. My family also ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and the Margarita Pizza. The server was very kind and attentive, checking on us a good amount without being bothersome. Overall, it was a great experience. I'll be adding some photos of the food; the calamari was eaten too fast to get a photo, haha.

Had a wonderful lunch at VIVO in the Universal Studios area. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how beautiful and inviting the restaurant looked. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish, perfect for a relaxing meal. We started with the meatballs and a glass of red wine, such a comforting and flavorful start. The baby kale Caesar salad was fresh and delicious The Piccante Miele Prosciutto pizza had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The star of the show was definitely the lasagna, rich, hearty, and seasoned just right. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the service was top-notch. It really made the whole experience feel special. If you're in the area, especially visiting Universal Studios, this is a great spot for lunch. Tip: Do valet parking and don’t forget to get your ticket validated at the restaurant. Left full and happy, will definitely be back!

Went to have lunch and load ourselves with carbs just before we went into the park. We burned it after 3 hours of walking at the park (Universal). Good food and reasonable price. Great atmosphere, too. The service was excellent. Thanks to Steve for exceptional service! Will definitely go back. Soon.

Enjoyed an early dinner and break from rain on New Year’s Eve. I ate the best fettuccine of my life here! My daughters, 24 annd 25, and husband agreed and helped me finish it off. One daughter ordered the Bolognese and felt it was ok. She said it was rather one dimensional. My husband ordered the Vodka Penne and enjoyed it. I thought it was too spicy, but he thought it was perfect. My other daughter ordered pizza which was handmade. She had the prosciutto and arugula and loved it. Good dressing on arugula mix and texture to pizza. We also tried the warm apple cider drinks. Tasted great on this rainy chilly day! Kelly our server was attentive and friendly. We will be back!

VIVO Italian Kitchen is an Italian restaurant in Universal CityWalk Hollywood. Artisan pizzas, house-made pasta, and cocktails are served in a stylish setting with an open kitchen. We visited this place during our second Universal Studios Hollywood trip. The place was full when we got there. We waited more than 30 minutes to get the seats available. The ambiance of the place was noisy but cozy. We ordered STUFFED BREAD and CHICKEN FETTUCCINE ALFREDO. The food was good and there’s nothing much to say about the price of the food at the theme parks like Universal Studios Hollywood (it’s always high). The customer service was good.

The primavera was great! The spaghetti meatballs weren’t the best, the meat wasn’t super flavorful but the sauce was very good. Definitely get the garlic cheese bread, and the chicken parmigiana was great as well

This place was really good. Not perfect, but we had a good time. It can great really busy being in the City Walk right outside of Universal Studios. We arrived here as the park was closing and getting ready for their annual Halloween Horror Nights, so all of the restaurants get crazy busy during this time. There was confusion with the wait times so we almost didn't get a table at all, but luckily we were able to get a spot. The staff was very nice and attentive. I feel like their menu is a little small for an Italian place. It didn't seem like they have a lot of options to offer in pasta and their other entrees. I like to establish a baseline at each Italian place by trying their fettuccini alfredo and going from there. The alfredo was just ok. It was good but just had a bland flavor. It just needs some more seasoning or garlic or something to really nail it. I probably won't get it again unless they change the recipe. My wife got the chicken carbonara and that was much better. It had so much flavor to it so she really loved it. We, unfortunately, didn't get to try any dessert because there was some issue with their freezer and so they couldn't serve any dessert at the time sadly. That was a bummer because my wife loves tiramisu. We'd be willing to probably give this place another shot to see what else the menu has to offer and hopefully try dessert next time.

Delicious pies! We had the mushroom which although could have had more shroomies on it, was super tasty. Their short rib pappardelle was outstanding. The shrimp diavolo was too spicy. All you tasted was how spicy it was.

We came out of the park, hungry and looking forward to a nice meal, and we did get that. Ambiance and service were really good, and the food was good but nothing was exceptional. Prices were not unreasonable for being in a prime location.

Atmosphere was pleasant. Staff was prompt and friendly, our server made great suggestions. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese which was flavorful, and just the right amount as well. My daughter had a steak dinner which she said was delicious. The only thing wrong, I felt was our table placement, I felt trapped in a corner, good thing was the second wall had a window that made it seem less claustrophobic.

We came here after visiting Universal Studios. It was my guys birthday, so even though I thought the prices were high, I gave in. The photos you see are exactly what we got for $67 (tip included), no alcohol. The appetizer we got was Classic Caprese and it came with small bread slices. The restaurant wasn't full at all and we came just before normal dinner time. I think the prices are high considering what you actually get, but that's just my opinion!

R

The cheesy garlic bread was amazing - the highlight of our meal. The spaghetti was quite plain and the meatballs seemed cheaply made. The service was great and the restaurant clean.

R
Rebecca

Upon entering there was confusion and we were seated at a table that was reserved for someone else. We were then asked to move - which was fine. The gentleman that asked us to move was very friendly and told us he would get us some dessert on him due to the inconvenience. This was really nice of him, and we were appreciative of that. The server that took our order and delivered our drinks and food was very unpleasant. She wasn’t very friendly and she just seemed annoyed with everything. I am not sure how many times she rolled her eyes or did a condescending press of her lips at us, but would probably not return because of it. The drinks we received were excellent and so was the food. We got the sausage fennel pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were awesome! We also received our complimentary tiramisu, which surprisingly was one of the best my friend and I had ever had. I would have given this place five stars had our server not been so rude. But, I am appreciative that the food and other friendly faces made up for that :)

Nice place to go hungry, after being the whole days walking in the parks. Portions are huge. My pasta was overcooked but the sauce was very good. Great meat balls. Bread was amazing. We didn’t have reservation and it was very crowded. They sitting us at the bar, bartender was nice, but the food takes too long.

We ate here on a Friday night while taking a break from the park. We were only in town for one day and wanted to fit in a CityWalk experience. This restaurant had the shortest wait of any casual dining spot (about 10 minutes), and since we were cold and hungry, it was an easy choice. The atmosphere was great and the service was good, but the food was hit or miss. The bolognese had very little sauce and tasted more like plain ground beef with noodles, and the lasagna was heavy on the ricotta. The standout dish was the angel hair primavera with seasonal vegetables, light, buttery, and flavorful. We’d be willing to give it another try to see if this was a one-off or typical of their food.

Party of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids). We arrived about 45 minutes before universal closing. Luckily it wasn't raining but it was cold and we were able to sit out on the patio. We were told the wait time for an inside table would be 20-30 minutes. There are heaters, but we didn't have one. Our server was very patient and friendly. The timing of the food and drinks delivery was off a little. My husband ordered a second drink and they didn't offer to bring it out until we were almost done with our meal. The kids' menu has spaghetti, pizza, and chicken breast. My kids enjoyed their pizza and chicken. They greatly enjoyed the potatoes that came with the chicken. I got the salmon which was a little overcooked and my husband got fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. He said there were only 3 pieces of shrimp. So that was disappointing. They have a good Margarita.

We visited during one of the busiest weekends of the fall—Universal Studios' Horror Nights—and although the restaurant was packed, we were seated quickly, which was impressive given the crowd. While the service was a bit slower than usual due to the high volume of customers, it didn't detract from our overall experience. The food was outstanding, perfectly seasoned, and very flavorful. We started with a garlic bread board, which was delicious, and followed that with shrimp pesto spaghetti topped with salmon. The combination of flavors was excellent and left us very satisfied. If you're planning a visit to Universal Studios and have time for a sit-down meal, we highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a great spot to enjoy a delicious meal amidst the excitement of the area.

Friendly staff and stylish décor make Vivo feel a bit more upscale than your typical park-adjacent restaurant — but don’t come expecting peace and quiet (or mocktails, sadly). 🍹 Drinks: No mocktails and no substitutions for cocktails, which is a letdown if you’re skipping alcohol or have a specific preference. 🍽️ Food: * Lasagna is heavy on the ricotta, which makes it super creamy — I really liked it * Tomato sauce has a bit of a spicy kick, not your average marinara 🗣️ Ambience: Feels classy thanks to lighting and interior design, but it’s loud enough to make a meaningful conversation tricky — so maybe not your date night destination. Overall, a solid option if you’re hungry after the rides.

Staying near universal and wanted some decent food after just flying in. Food was good. Husband and son enjoyed their pizza. My daughter loved her shrimp Alfredo it was very peppery, shrimp were large and cooked well, and my steak was well cooked, tender, and seasoned. Not amazing but a good alternative to park foods. Didn’t enjoy the free focaccia bread I think it was, with olive oil side. Just didn’t have much flavor. Overall it was good food right outside universal. Our server Steven was fantastic. Loved the atmosphere sitting outside. Yes it’s loud but expected right outside a theme park!

I really wanted to like this Italian restaurant by Universal Studios. We went here for dinner and it smelled delicious. We ordered the lasagna and the pasta primavera. Unfortunately, both dishes looked lovely but unfortunately, there was not much flavor. It was very bland. I did enjoy the Stracchino Stuffed Bread as you can see from the picture, we ate it up. The service was ok, not the greatest as we waited around for a while before our order was taken and it was not very busy. It is pricey, over $22 for pasta.

Friendly staff and great atmosphere in City Walk. Ordered the Caprese Salad, which needed a bit more balsamic glaze. Our waiter happily brought some extra. The spaghetti and meatballs was okay. The meatballs were not that flavorful. The amount of pasta on the dish looks deceiving, I thought I was short-changed, but it was just the right amount. The lasagna is topped with a thick layer of parmasen cheese, which is not good. The rest tasted okay. Next time I will try a different restaurant.

We have experienced vivo in both Orlando and Los Angeles, and because we loved Orlando so much we just had to go again when in Los Angeles. Sadly we were disappointed. Our waiter helped many tables who were seated after us before us, we waited 35 minutes before even being acknowledged by our waiter. The food took a long time to come out, when we asked for fresh pepper, it never came, drink refills never came. Ect. When it came time to pay our bill, it took 25 minutes to get our bill. The food was very good, the experience all around just left a lot to be desired unfortunately.

Visiting from out of town and saw this cute Italian restaurant outside the Universal Studios and wanted to try it. The lady upfront (Amaka) was very rude to us. I think she needs to work on her customer service skills. She did not say hello when we arrived (we had to address her first) not a smile nothing. She barely talked to us and had nasty attitude we had no idea we were waiting on. There was this lady that was helping the table next to us that had a smile when interacting, welcomed us when we came in, told people Amaka would be right with them upfront etc. she is a beautiful red haired server. I believe her name tag said Kristyna. She is the perfect example of the attitude you would want in your restaurant. The food was edible but could be better (had the Alfredo and got some chicken that tasted weird). Overall, has potencial but needs to do better.

While the food at Vivos was great, the service was terrible. Our waitress Kelly was rude throughout the meal and only became pleasant when it was time to pay. A separate incident occurred when she deliberately let a door shut on my wife and daughter.

Food poisoning!! Visited Tuesday Nov 11, 2025 I read few other reviews mentionning people got sick. Seems to have cross contamination issues in this restaurant. Had chicken parmiagiana and ceasar salad. They told me it was one of their specialty....

My friend and I dined at Vivo Italian Kitchen in Universal CityWalk yesterday at 1:40pm, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I ordered a carrot, celery, and onion soup, while my friend had pasta with schnitzel. The service was painfully slow—we waited far too long for our food to arrive, which was frustrating given how hungry we were after a day at Universal Studios. Worse, both of us ended up with food poisoning shortly after the meal. The carrot, celery, and onion soup I had and the pasta with schnitzel my friend ordered clearly weren’t prepared or handled properly. It’s a shame because the food initially looked promising, but the slow service and the severe stomach issues we experienced afterward made this a place we’ll never return to. I’d caution others to eat here at their own risk.

I was really looking to trying this vegetarian pizza, but unfortunately, it was a major letdown. I ordered this pizza and was disappointed with the crust, which was soggy and overcooked with smoky smell hard to eat.The sauce was bland and the toppings were sparse. The service was friendly, but the food took a long time to arrive. For the price, I expected a much better quality pizza. Rating: 1/5 stars Would not recommend anyone ever as I complained the waiter about it he said that’s how we made it!😡😡😡 Which made me feel like waste of money !

Visiting from out of town and saw this cute Italian restaurant outside the Universal Studios and wanted to try it. The lady upfront (Amaka) was very rude to us.
