El Capitán is a local family business located in Chichimilá. The delight begins with the beautiful road that connects the city of Valladolid with Chichimilá, a narrow road lined with trees and greenery. The restaurant is simple but very comfortable and cool, however, the strong point of this place is its delicious food prepared to order. To keep you from despairing, when your drinks are brought, they offer you a delicious regional snack that will keep you waiting with gusto. The dishes are not only very tasty but also have generous portions, coupled with a very affordable price: we ordered shrimp-stuffed fillets, a family platter, and ceviche, for four people, and we paid approximately $300.00 each, and everything was del-i-cious. The servers are very friendly, the service is quick, and they are attentive to your requests. In terms of accessibility, there are ramps, large bathrooms, and easy access between tables. Conclusion: Highly recommended.

Excellent find during our cycle to the cenotes. Our server spoke some English and was very friendly and helpful and we were delighted by the generous and tasty snacks served with our drinks. We ordered a fish (he brought them out to show us so we could choose) with garlic, which came with salad, a little rice and tortillas. With the snacks as well, it was enough for a light lunch. The fish wasn’t as tasty as the snacks but still very enjoyable. It’s a big place - we thought maybe they get tour groups stopping off - and was quite empty, so not much atmosphere, but the music was good, there were fans and good toilets.

Excellent place to eat seafood, they just need to put fly traps since it's outdoors and flies come quickly. They bill and accept cash with a card. The food tastes good, and the appetizers or starters are very good too. Highly recommended!

A gem of a restaurant. Very out of the way but worth the effort. We popped in for a snack and a beer. We ordered a breaded prawn and a breaded fish thinking it would be light. How wrong was I? They give you 4 little dishes with tortillas as we waited. A crab dish, ceviche, and a couple of others I didn't know but enjoyed. Suffice to say, the mains were great but we couldn't finish them as we were too full.

Five of us had a great afternoon. Our waiter was clever and witty. Four of us shared a fish-seafood platter. Good variety. Good quality. Plenty left to take home. The fifth had camaron a la diabla. Extremely good. High grades all around. And, yes, the bill was lower than we expected for both the quality and quantity of our meals.

It was an incredible dining experience!! The service, the Covid precautions, the little touches (like a delicious snack while we waited for our food), and the food itself—everything was perfect! The food is excellent, super homemade, plentiful, and very reasonably priced. I was so surprised by the combinations and the presentation of the dishes; it's an extra bonus that enhances the experience of eating so deliciously! I highly recommend the coconut shrimp!!! Wonderful seafood restaurant popular with locals. Take note that they only serve seafood. No one speaks English here but we managed to order these beautiful dishes using google translate. They took a picture of our group to put on their Facebook page. Super nice people. I LOVE ceviche!

Restaurant at 80% capacity. We ordered lemonade and a beer. They brought it with snacks. We ordered a breaded steak with garlic sauce; it took a little over 30 minutes to arrive. The breading was too oily.

Para ser un lugar ya grande. Les falta más atención , si van días festivos. Muy lleno. Y la atención demasiado lenta. Los meseros. No se preocupan por atender a una sola mesa y se vuelve un completo caos. Para ser un negocio en expansión. Debería a ver coordinación y rapidez y se supone que deben tener meseros extras los días que tengan mucha gente. Normalmente el servicio es lento. Imagínense los días festivos. Muy mala experiencia tal vez le daría una oportunidad. Otra vez. Pero es mejor buscar lugares pequeños y no aglomerados. Desgraciadamente. Entre mas recomendación tengan más se vuelve comercial . Que mal yo por tomar solo una cerveza tardaron 30 minutos en servirla. Por eso me decidí ir en un lugar cerca de aya. Dónde igual venden mariscos y botanero Y muy rico

Good place for seafood, but not the best. They give you snacks while you wait for your food. The seasoning is decent, but the portions are very small for the price. The service was okay, but not excellent. I do want to emphasize, however, that the bathroom was very clean.

Service cool. Appetizers free and promising a great feast. Big portions but fish fillet mega salty as was the octopus. As to the octopus I am a fussy eater. Only 25 % cases meet my expectations and this didn't.
