Its always a nice day to sit at Cafe El Palomar and have a margarita and ceviche! they have THE BEST views, large portion sizes, and awesome drinks. The staff is always so helpful and quick especially for how busy they always are.

This is my partner’s go to spot for breakfast when we’re in Santa Cruz and this place always hits. I tried their Corralitos Smoked Sausage burrito and it was delicious! A great spot right on the water.

Great location! The chips and salsa are good. Food was delicious and not overpriced. Had the burrito & enchilada in green mole sauce. Service was good had us in and out with a quickness. My only bad thing was the taco I ordered came with beans & no cheese. Who does this?! Small place but worth a visit

This is a fun place to sit outside and take in the picturesque Monterey Bay as boats glide in and out of Santa Cruz Harbor. I had a carne asada salad and it was pretty good. The pack patio, which abuts the sand, is also dog friendly.

05/01/2022 It was a Sunday and lots of people at the beach. I didn't want to give up my free parking spot in front of the beach so I decided to order something here. The restaurant was packed and there was a line to order. I ordered the Carne Asada Nachos to go which came to almost $17 with tax and a tip? They were OK. I could eat the whole thing. So it will one starving gluttonous person or feed two not-so-very hungry people. If you order $15 or more of food you get chips and salsa no charge for dine in. There was a restroom available but I didn't use it. There is limited seating inside and some seating outside the restaurant. You can watch volleyball or enjoy people watching and the ocean view. Dog Friendly.

Upon waking in I was greeted immediately. Extremely helpful and nice staff. I’ve tried a few things. Cheese enchiladas Chicken enchiladas Chili relleno Rice Beans All the food was spot on. Nothing to over the top here. The taste was there and it was great. Flavors were good and food was fresh. Food also come out in a very timely manner as well. Something I’ve noticed as well. I’ve been here a few times now. And they’ve always been pretty damn busy. Lots of locals go here and that’s a great sign! The menu is HUGE. And in my opinion to big and probably costing the business $$$ but you know what? Take advantage of it while it’s there with the insane amount of options. Will I return? Most definitely. I recommend this place for sure. Nice spot on the beach with good Mexican food. And they also have a decent bar. Go check it out!

Over all, customer service and hospitality was okay. The servers were great when asking about refreshments and chips and salsa. Our server was very occupied as it seemed she was the only one working. FOOD was served at a timely fashion and was fabulous. The seasoning was perfect, I saw no grease in my bacon which I absolutely appreciated. - Biscuits & gravy - The M’s Favorite - The English Muffin Would definitely recommend.

I've been eating here for many years, and love the salmon burrito and the great staff, but recently noticed that a hidden service charge was quietly added to each item on my take-out order. No mention was made on the menu of this extra charge, which frankly makes the prices on the menu a flat-out lie. I don't object to the prices, but I do object to the dishonesty. Don't we have enough lies in our lives these days without our local taqueria joining in? Shame on you.

Tacos are very watery and mushy and don’t hold up when eating. Lacking flavor overall. We ordered various tacos and burritos and was disappointed for all. Definitely won’t be eating here again.

Food was below average, $30 for some appetizers and they refused to provide any salsa on the side.

Just a note for outdoor dining. This is an ocean front business that uses one use plastic. You are also not able to order a drink and sit outside without ordering food. Guac and or chips and salsa do not count as a food order… forced to order food we didn’t want. Will not be back. Service is terrible, food is below average and expensive. Dine somewhere else or bring your own and sit on the beach. Please do better.
