This was the best Mexican food I’ve had in years! The fajitas, the burrito, the agua de jamaica. Everything tasted so great. And the people working there are wonderful and incredibly sweet. Thank you! We’ll be back again when visiting Santa Cruz.

The best darn value-for-money Mexican food place in Santa Cruz, period. AMAZING salsa bar, chips, pickled and chopped fresh veggies, all complimentary with your meal! Huge variety of meat options, plus a dedicated veggie menu. No frills order at the counter but restaurant quality fare. You can get a days worth of fresh delicious food for under $10, with a burrito, chips, and salsa. Can't be beat!

We love this place, they are our friends down the street. We've been eating there for many years. The food is excellent and everyone working there is warm and welcoming.

What a great independent neighborhood taqueria! Their staff are so welcoming warm and inviting! The Star of the show is the salsa bar! Also the restaurant is very clean and that makes me feel more comfortable exploring the menu rather than taking a safe bet out of convenience, oh yeah I also love getting the horchata from here!

O so good ! Love the enchilada plate. Warms my inner soul ! Or maybe that's the roasted jalapeños !haha. Salsa Bar is great. One of these days I need to have there soup. Someone is always eating one when I'm there. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Great service always. It's like your not just a customer, your Familia.

This is our go to Taqueria in Santa Cruz for burritos. Their portions are always generous and the staff is very friendly. They are very quick as well! We’re never waiting for food long. I order their already large turbo burrito and add Carne Asada, they always pack that thing thiccc. (Other taquerias have denied this request so Agave has my heart). Would definitely recommend

I enjoyed the food here. We had lunch after a shopping spree. We ordered the chicken enchilada combo plate and a torta. It was delicious and was able to take some home for dinner. I love that they offer the pickled carrots. The red salsa was one of my favs there. Its a clean place to eat and the staff is friendly and fast at getting orders placed.

5 stars for hitting perfect sweet spot of price vibe atmosphere food. I knew I'd found a winner the first time I came and it started getting filled with Mexican couples and families and working guys. It feels like it's been here forever but opened fairly recently. 2008 I found it because they also do a small popup for food for Moe's Alley so I figured might as well check out the mothership Bonus points for the pickled potato which I've never seen before!

I got two tacos Al pastor and a michelada and both were perfect! Service was great. Atmosphere was reminiscent of my upbringing in a Mexican household— Futbol playing in the background, the smell of fabuloso, and pico de gallo on deck always. I was grateful for the vibes 🥺

But the other day I returned and took out 2 carnitas tacos, and they were GREAT! Like $6.25, including chios and salsa (which they toss in for free), plus very friendly service - it can't be beat! You can eat outside at their counter, or take-out. This is definitely becoming my go-to place for carnitas tacos or a carnitas burrito - delicious!

Quick, reasonably priced and tasty. They kept the old Fosters Freeze tables and booths, so it is comfortable. Quiet and calm inside, which is different and wonderful for me.

It's great, esp service. Love the both seating, feels old school. Just not my personal favor seasonings. Their carne asada is well cooked and not dry!! Most places seem to make it dry.

I had beef tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were excellent but the rice and beans were pretty average. My husband had the jumbo quesadilla, which was actually a burrito with steak, lettuce, beans, and cheese. Service was excellent.

Just ordered 2 Taco Salads. Inside ingredients were great but the shell was very old and rubbery Usually the food is fantastic but this was a little disappointing

This place is cold and it doesn't seem to clean. The super chicken quesadillas was a disappointment. Instead of preparing them with a big size tortilla, they use the medium size, piled everything on top and cover with another tortilla, like a sandwich... 🤔 Sorry, the chicken didnt taste good either.

I ordered the Enchilada plate. It came out cold and the cheese inside was not melted. The beans looked really old and no flavor. The rice looked lime it was the only thing looking good on the plate. I hate cold rice and with no flavor is even worse. I felt dirty sitting in the place. I did not have a good experience and never want to go back. So sorry.

I ordered a bacon potato egg breakfast burrito and there was no bacon! The place was hopping and the food smelled good. I went basic because my stomach hadn't been feeling good all morning and I wasn't sure how any of the food was going to be spiced. I do not care for all regions of Mexican food. It seemed like a sage bet. I thought something this simple would be impossible to mess up. Oh, I was wrong. Where is the bacon? I even pulled the burrito apart at the end to check. Just some burnt eggs & potatoes. I might try them again when I am at the car wash next time? I really don't know.

everything is ok i will say but i wouldn’t recommend the menudo, there’s other places here in town where it’s worth the price

I ordered the caldo de res and it had one sad little piece of beef. Very disappointing since I was really craving a good cosido. Do not order it here.

Food was not good 🤮. Had wet carnitas burrito with green sauce and my wife had combo with cheese enchilada and taco. The meat and sauces did not taste to good at all. Rice didn’t have flavor either. Bad night out now I’m ordering pizza 🍕. After spending $35 for Mexican food.

The absolute worst burrito I have ever had. Every element of the burrito lacked flavor and seasoning and it couldn’t even be saved with the salsas, all of which either tasted store bought or watered down. Total waste of money. The Mexican food in Santa Cruz in general is mediocre, flavorless and lacking in creativity but this took it to a new low. The agua fresca was good but unlike other Mexican restaurants, they only have one small cup size.
