One of my favorite places in Vallejo to eat ! These ladies treat you like family & the food is bomb ! So good ! The chicken & waffles is my favorite

The food is fabulous ,Everytime. The service is always great. This is without a doubt one of the best resturants in the bay area.

Absolutely loved it the food is unbelievably delicious...and the excellent service is the sugar on top...the prices are surprisingly reasonable...you usually don't find good of food in their price range...if your looking for a place that makes you feel like yo just left grandma's kitchen...this is by far the best place around

Yes, yes!! My favorite is "Meatloaf Wednesday".... and the sides that go with it. Garlic mashed potatoes with gravy, yams, greens, and macaroni & cheese.

My wife and I split a Philly cheese steak with garlic fried, then peach cobbler. The two sister's are the bomb. Yvonne and Nay Nay. Thouroly enjoyed ourselves. When we left they said come home anytime. We were so welcomed.

Am I biased just because this is a Vallejo-run establishment? Not as all. It's just that they serve some of the most bomb diggity food that i've had. Ah, Downtown Vallejo! How I love and hate thee! I love you because you are where I spent 17 good years of my life. I frequented your corner stores, browsed through your various antique stores, and i've even eaten at some of the restaurants down there. But I hate you because, well... others hate you. By others, I mean new businesses. It's a risky proposition to open up show in the Downtown V. You just have no clue if you will remain successful, even after good opening. Thank goodness that the like of China Cafe, Gracies, and even Java Jax have managed to stay open. My Homestyle Cafe should be added to that list. If i'm not mistaken, this restaurant has been open for a couple of years now. It's definitely got it's own loyal fanbase. This place is no frills and offers up one thing, and one thing only: some of the most delicious, down home, homemade comfort food you'll ever taste. This is some real eat a whole meal and prepare to sleep it off for the weekend and then work it off in the gym type of eating right here, i'm telling you! I mean that in a completely and whole-heartedly good way as well. I've had a lot of what's on their menu. The ribs, chicken, hot links, burgers, and oh man, the chicken and waffles! This is probably the only place you can get chicken and waffles in Vallejo (now that Soul For You is closed. which bites) and man is it good. It's actually all really good. The ribs actually suprised me as I thought they'd just be the regular par-broiled kind, but these ones are actually decently on point! Same with the chicken. The catfish here is great as well. Crunchy and seasoned perfectly. The garlic fries are also awesome. Want to end your meal in the most awesome way possible? Order the peach cobbler, warmed up, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you have that after a meal, prepare for some next-level sleepiness. Most importantly, the staff here is beyond friendly and they really go out of their way to make sure you're having a great eating experience. Their cheery hospitable attitude, fast service, and great food makes for an awesome treat all in all. This is DEFINITELY a place you have to stop and eat at if you're in Vallejo.

Didn't eat but the coffee and service was really good. My associate had a hot breakfast sandwich and it looked wonderful. Was kind of like being back home in the South.

Every restaurant in the area was so overpriced and busy stumbled upon this little cafe and was blown away by the reasonable prices and friendly staff:) the food was amazing and the establishment was clean! The one woman taking orders and cooking was so kind and welcoming will definetly be back !

Support small businesses like this one! Got a medium-well cheeseburger and some chili cheese fries. Food was ready within 10 minutes of placing my online order and was hot and delicious! Will definitely eat from here again the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Had a lovely breakfast here; got chicken and waffles for a great price. This is a half-service style restaurant, where you order at counter and they bring it out to you. Food was delicious, service was excellent.

The breakfast was great. If you're familiar with Southern breakfast cuisine, and you love it - this is the place for you. I ordered the fried fish and grits with a side waffle. You can taste the love in the food. Everything was excellent. This is a family owned business where everybody knows your name. The owner is the person in the back preparing the meals, and she takes pride in every plate. Go here, sit a bit, and enjoy some good food and conversation. Don't forget to get a piece of homemade lemon cake to go.

Only been there once, but can't wait to go back. Like going to your favorite aunt's house for breakfast/lunch! You won't feel lonely dining here. The ladies that run the place will keep you informed and entertained. BEST greens my wife (and I) have EVER tasted. Great yams, meatloaf, and I had a GREAT double cheese burger. Next time I'll get a single. One patty would have filled me up. Really want to come when they are serving BBQ.

OMG, was passing through & had the best BLT sandwich! Nae Nae, the proprietor was holding down the front counter. She talked me into taking home some of ther delicious cobbler. My wife loves me even more for bringing this home to her! But now she wants me to take her to try their BBQ My Homestyle Café is a must visit for anyone who enjoys food!

Can you say fabulous? I thought I’d get a quick snack, the woman at the counter subtly mentioned the specials and I went all in. Everytime I asked “is it made here” she said yes and every bite was fabulous. Thank you I’ll be back

Waffle Burger! Great food and amazing customer service!

First, the food was past the expectations of being perfect barbecue. Second, we came late and instead of showing us the door they politely gave us great service and great food. I felt like I was at home on my living room couch eating food from heaven. Their service went above and beyond, they went way out of there way to turn on the fryer for a pickey eater. Absolutely great restaurant. I'm annoyed that they dont have 5 stars.

The service is great and they motivate you to try new things or should i say Tastes. Michelle Obama chicken breast sandwich between waffles is amazing and I can't believe they have 7-Up cake I haven't had that since my great grandma was alive. I highly recommend stopping bye

Man... all I have to say is try the omelet! Also, the toast was delicious as well as the grits! The waffle a friend of mine ordered was also delicious and huge. The woman working was basically like your grandma. She was so nice and threw down in the kitchen! Pricing is so cheap. Definitely would like to go back and try lunch! Easy five stars from me.

We had a Philly cheese steak, chilli cheese fries, and chilli cheese hot link👀👀👀 EVERYTHING was so good I had to slow down lol I know that chilli was homemade and you cants tell me they didn't make those links themselves omg I'm trying to go back immediately

This place is really something else. I went in there expecting to get a hamburger... I ended up with their special, which was meatloaf on mashed taters and gravy, collard greens, candied yams, and Mac and cheese and peach cobbler. It was like a Thanksgiving feast. Safe to say I'm going to be useless at work the rest of the day, haha. Highly recommend this place. I'm 100% coming here the next time I'm in Vallejo.

Today was my first visit to My Homestyle Cafe. I'm a Louisiana born and raised Southern girl so I know my Soul Food. The food was just like my Mom's (Big Mama). The fried fish was perfectly Krispy outside...light and fluffy inside...just perfect! Peach cobbler to die for and as an added surprise...they were handing out Beniget samples which were the best I have ever tasted (I have eaten them in N.O. many times but these are the best ever.) Thank you ladies for the wonderful meal and service. I will be back soon!

My wife got the smother porkchop special and we split some garlic fries and wings. Heavy and savory. DO NOT OPERATE HEVAY MACHINERY. The ITIS is near.

The grill was off when we got there but we had some hot chocolate with the marshmallows. The owners were very friendly.

This is a great neighborhood institution in Vallejo and the burgers are fantastic and very reasonably priced. I love a good family restaurant and it's not often that you get to sit in a place and hear "Your Obama on a waffle is ready!" The service is friendly; you are greeted immediately, shown the Specials board and shown the menu. Definitely not a place to go to if you are on a diet, but if you are craving a hearty meal in a warm, family environment - My Homestyle Cafe is the place to go!

Restaurant was incredibly hot, and the chicken and waffles wasn't something I couldn't have made with a bag of freezer-bag breaded chicken strips and some waffle mix from a Walmart. The theme of the restaurant is essentially Barrack Obama, but I thought that was actually kind of fun.

I wanted to like this place... reviews were good, menu looked appetizing. In reality, food was mediocre (had the cheese steak) and hospitality was anything but southern... felt insulted and unwelcome. Ordered a dessert with my meal (cobbler) and was charged $1.08 before leaving for "complimentary ice cream" because after my meal, I chose to eat the dessert outside. Won't be back. Giving 2 stars only because the sandwich was ok, everything else (including the cobbler) was really a 1

Very soggy buns, did not get the bacon I paid extra for, and the burger meat is not even seasoned with salt. Very mediocre.

Tried their meatloaf lunch but gave it away because it was too salty; unfortunetely the greens and mac n cheese were slaty too. It looked delisious, just too salty for me; however, my coworker loves salt so it was perfect for her.

In order to get good food from this establishment its best to eat when first opened Grill is clean and hopefully everything went good they're all day and you will get greeted with a smile other than that it's an all right place to get a burger when the grill is clean Chicken and Waffles or no good

I ate here a few times& Always got the chicken & waffles. It was good until I went to the bathroom & saw how dirty it was. On my way comimg out of the bathroom, I glanced at the kitchen & it was Absolutely DISGUSTING! If your a clean individual & prefer to not eat from dirty establishments ...I suggest you not eat from this place.Im pretty sure many ppl have gotten sick from eating here .

Everything is covered in dust soaked fryed grease. If you can overlook the grime and poor hygiene, this is the place for you. Plastic utensils and disposable coffee cups.
