we where a little lost & looking for something quick . this place was awesome!. this is my new pit stop on my travels from So. Cal to bay area. or reason to visit the pinnacles national Park.

Well where should I start? This is a little restaurant that I had been hearing a lot about. So this recent trip to Ventura I made it one of the priorities to try. And let me tell you what it did not let me down. The workers there were outgoing and very very friendly. As for the Taco Shop itself it was a nice little place nothing big not a lot of fancy stuff. It was just right. There's seating on the inside and in the back. They also let me take my dogs in the back. The food was bursting with flavor. Everybody you can taste love. The owner even came out and talked with us. I will definitely be going back to this food joint again. They made us feel at home. Very very pleasant people with amazing food. Whenever you go down to Ventura this is a must to eat at. Here's some pictures of the food hope you enjoy

Great food! Highly recommend the tacos. Had one shrimp and one fried fish. It is heavily fried but yummy. Good sized portions. The chips, rice and beans were so-so but tacos great. Some outdoor seating. Fun place!!!

I overheard another customer say, the fish tacos were the best she ever had. I totally agree, they were so delicious, the best I ever tasted!!! I luckily arrived right before closing and was offered a complimentary dragon fruit drink - omg it was also delicious and refreshing, as well as the grilled yellow pepper add on. I can’t wait to go back and eat there again!!!

I’ve had my fair share of fish tacos and this place nails it! Transported immediately to Ensenada post surf sessh vibes with these juicy battered or grilled fish tacos with an epic spicy habenero salsa and roasted pepper option!!! Hidden gem of a place. Surprised there wasn’t a line out the door!!! Belly filled, sinus’s cleared, & happy husband!

Came here kind of on a whim after a day at the beach. Ordered the battered fish taco platter for ~$20. Initially thought it was just overpriced for two tacos but it is a LOT of food. It’s rice and beans (with cheese), chips, and two fish tacos that are BIG. Probably the best fish taco I’ve ever had in my life. The tortillas look these handmade corn things that were really good. The fish was unbelievable. I’d absolutely come here again.

Fish & Chips were delicious! Batter flavor was unlike any other I’ve had before. The fish was tender and juicy! Pickled onion topper to the cabbage was very delicious as well. Outdoor seating was comfortable with a tower heater on a cool foggy day.

Great fish tacos, and cucumber lemonade water. 2 fish taco plate with rice and beans it’s enough for two people. My girlfriend and I added an extra fish taco just in case, and didn’t even touch it. Great place for fish tacos.

I must say, my choice for lunch was the right one made. The 3 tacos I really wanted to try was the Steak, Battered Shrimp and the Veggie. All were delicious and full of flavor. My favorite was the Veggie taco. The service was spot on. The staff are friendly and inviting. I will be back for more. Thank you!

Rick and his family are making magic with fish tacos and burritos. My wife and I found our new favorite fish taco spot in Ventura. Being local, we have tried so many spots- and many are good. But we came here last weekend and were simply blown away at how good the flavors are- and the amazing portion sizes. It was so good we rode our bikes back again today. I love the grilled fish burrito and my wife loves the battered fish taco. The batter is the magic.Stop by and see Rick and his family and heave them make you a plate of fish taco happiness!

Christina is incredibly friendly, kind, and generous, and offered us all of the best food and drink recommendations. The agua frescas were fresh and bright, and complimented the food perfectly. The burrito I ordered was GIANT!! And each dish comes with chips, limes, salsas, peppers, everything you need. Everything was freshly made, absolutely no sad tasting food. The atmosphere was cozy, open, comfortable, and clean. Christina was kind enough to refill our agua frescas before we took our food home, and offered extra salsa, which I’m so happy I took. The chips and salsa are a MUST and we will absolutely be back to enjoy more!! Thank you so much!!

Amazing and fresh fish tacos. I only give this place 4 stars on service because they completely ran out of beef and so the only option was fish. We specifically picked this place because a member of our party doesn’t eat seafood, but there was some beef on the menu. I’m sure if the beef was in stock, those would have been great too. Stop here before or after going on a trip with island packers to Channel Islands or wild life tours!

OMG the tacos here are amazing! Earlier in the day I had shrimp tacos at a fancy oceanfront restaurant and honestly left wanting more flavor. Later we stopped by the harbor and decided to try this spot, and I’m so glad we did. The portions are huge, the salsa is fresh, and everything tasted incredible. The shrimp tacos were full of flavor, and the asada tacos were just as good the meat was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The service was also great. You can tell it’s a small family-run place that really cares about their customers. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area, or far away because I live in Santa Clarita, and definitely will drive out here for the tacos!

My wife and I drove here from Apple Valley California. This place was recommended to us by a friend. So when we came down to the beach, this was the first place that we stopped at. The husband and wife running the place were very friendly, warm and welcoming. The food was homemade and absolutely delicious. inside and out the place is very clean and the prices are very reasonable. This is a place. I definitely recommend if you come to the beach here in Ventura.

We realli went in on reviews and pictures thinking it would be great food and experience and was highly disappointed. The young guy that took our order and served us was part of the issue. His attitude to put it frankly sucked. I ordered fish tacos and a side of fries (it would have been nice if he told me the side of fries was enough to feed 3 to 4 people! Like hey jus so you know.....) I definitely would have not ordered them bcuz I didn't want that much. My mom ordered the fish and chips and her fish was still raw in the center. She asked if they could re cook the 2 she had not touched because it came with 3 pieces and if one was raw more than likely the others were ...the cook kindly jus remade the whole dish but it still was sub par. Both meals were not like they were hyped to be. Needless to say we will not go back to this restaurant and can't say I would recommend to anyone.

This food is far from authentic. Its whipped into a weird fusion flavor I unfortunately am not cool with. Please lessen the fancy flavors and sprouts on my taco and give me food that doesn't need drowning in weird sauces or veggies. Even the salsa for the chips and tacos was weird tasting

Meh Burrito. Based on the reviews I expected better. I ordered the grilled fish burrito. It was one of the least amazing burritos that I've had in California. There was lots of rice, 5 beans, fish skin and a couple specks of actual grilled fish. There were no other veggies in the burrito. I also ordered a beer. It came in a can with no glass, so the beer tasted like an aluminum can. The entrance counter is weird. It setup with an order podium that is set way back from the countertop. There were also no menus around for detailed descriptions. The are just a brief list on the wall with prices. The server had the personality of a doorknob. No welcome, no greeting, it seemed like they would be much happier working elsewhere. The atmosphere? There was a wonderful view of the parking lot and the sewage treatment plant in the distance. Overall: +1 Large Burrito +1 Fast Service - 1 Mostly a $$$ rice burrito - 1 Little fish, mostly grilled skin - 1 No glass with beer, no water, parking lot view. Overall, at over $30 for lunch, a big disappointment.
