Had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant in Manarola! The view is absolutely breathtaking, and the atmosphere makes you want to linger. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. When a heavy rain started, they kindly let us stay and enjoy the space without rushing. The food was good; had the crab pasta, and tiramisu which was delicious, and I loved that they offer unique daily specials that aren’t even on the menu. A perfect spot for both great food and a memorable experience! You’ll need to climb a few stairs to get here, but it’s absolutely worth it. Tucked away from the busy tourist streets, it feels like a hidden gem.
An amazing dinner on the cliff. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was authentic and delicious. We enjoyed pasta, seafood and lasagna. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it. You do need a reservation. The tables are all on different levels. Overlooking the ocean. We had a group of eight and that I think would be close to the maximum size of a table they could accommodate, but they were smaller tables on our level as well. There's no driving up there. It's all walking. And you have to be prepared to walk down some steep steps to get to your table or to get back up to the washroom or out of the restaurant. They have fresh catch of the Day. Ask the waiter and they will tell you what is available that day. Reasonable prices and you will not be disappointed. Good selection of cocktails, wines and some beers. Definitely a restaurant we would recommend if you're visiting Cinque Terre. This restaurant is located in Monorola.
Wow, what a wonderful romantic spot! The staff was amazing and so kind. I strongly recommend having a reservation- we were lucky getting a table without one but it was a close call! The waiter had a fantastic wine recommendation and we got to try a delicious white wine from the local winery. The meal itself was some of the best food we had in Italy. It came out of the kitchen very fast and was piping hot - you could taste how fresh everything was! All in all a wonderful time and I can’t recommend it enough.
If you want a well-priced, romantic dinner with a picture-perfect view, Trattoria dal Billy is for you! We were thoroughly impressed with the generous (delicious!) portions and wonderful service. This was the highlight of our Cinque Terre trip. I made a reservation by phone 2 weeks prior and based on the popularity, I’d recommend doing the same if you’re planning to head this way. I’ll never forget the sunset from this night, but the seafood pasta comes pretty close.
Absolutely loved this restaurant starting with the owner at the entrance who is just funny as heck. Beautiful table that overlooked the town and Manarola harbor - very romantic. The food was fabulous - the tuna tartare was very good but the spinach tagliatelle with mushrooms was out of this world - amazing dish. The chocolate moose was delicious as well. Service was excellent and timely. The bread was ok - that’s the only real area to be improved upon. But overall excellent meal in a beautiful location. Loved it.
Incredibly fresh and delicious food with top notch service! 100% recommend to make a reservation. We went on Sunday at 9:15 and I made the reservation the same day at opening. The line is long so reservations are recommended although the kitchen cooks fast so tables probably open up The food is so fresh and delicious. Seafood pasta was fantastic and so was the shrimp pasta with Billy sauce. We also had the Calamari with Shrimp which was perfect. A very light amount of breading which was perfect. Service was great! The line to check into reservation can take a bit tho. It’s very busy. The waitstaff was very helpful and amazing We came from Monterosso and thought the journey + late train home was worth it! (Just check time tables before since trains usually only go every hour in the evening) Side note: at 9:15 slot, there is no view since it’s pitch dark
Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. And absolute MUST if visiting Cinque Terre. We stayed in Manarola (just a few steps away from the restaurant) but I would travel by train to eat here every night!! So delicious, as close to perfection as you can get. We ate around 9pm so no view for us, but not needed as the food captured our whole attention. Must go, do not question it.
Last night in CT. Best restaurant by far. Food was incredible. Service was fine. Ambience was incredible. Came here with 6 people and managed a reservation for 7pm 2 hours before on a Friday which was shocking. Anchovies are a must have. Grilled mixed seafood, Octopus appetizer, spaghetti with seafood were all incredible.
We got married in Tuscany and spent two weeks traveling around Italy, enjoying everything from local osterias to fine dining spots across regions. Out of all the meals we had, last night at Trattoria dal Billy in Manarola was hands down the best. To be honest, we didn’t have high expectations walking in—despite the high Google rating—because so many places we’ve tried with great reviews felt like they earned them by nudging diners to post something. But this place? This one earned it the right way—through heart, hospitality, and absolutely incredible food. We arrived right when they opened without a reservation and were warmly welcomed by the host, who kindly gave us a few table options to choose from (a rarity, especially in a place with a view like that!). The service throughout was top-notch. Gabriel, our server, was fantastic—friendly, personable, warm, and professional without being the least bit stuffy. He struck the perfect balance, making us feel truly welcome. Paula was also quietly attentive and gracious. Now, the food. Wow. We started with the tuna tartare special—ultra fresh, beautifully textured, and flavorful. The mussels were another standout: perfectly cooked with a broth that struck just the right balance of briny and savory. But the star of the meal was the black ink seafood pasta. Every bite was perfection—fresh seafood, rich flavors, and that satisfying umami that only comes from a kitchen that really knows seafood. For dessert, we had the cheesecake of the day. I’m not usually a cheesecake person, but this one completely won me over. Light, smooth, not overly rich, and topped with fresh berries. Honestly one of the best I’ve had, anywhere. The view? Stunning. You’re perched up high, overlooking the sea and rooftops of Manarola. It’s a one-minute walk from our hotel at the top of the hill—and yes, it’s a bit of a hike, but if you’re in Manarola, you’re already walking up and down all day. This spot is worth it. If you’re trying to decide between Trattoria dal Billy and one of the “Instagram-famous” restaurants, don’t hesitate: go here. Those touristy spots may have views, but often the service is rushed, the food is forgettable, and it’s all about table turnover. Dal Billy is the opposite—thoughtful, soulful, and one of the most memorable meals we’ve ever had.
Wonderful experience. I recommend the reservation to be made beforehand if you really want to enjoy a nice seaview table. I booked the table 1 day ahead to make sure we get in, and it was wonderful. Very nice servixe, perfectly cooked seafood on the grill. Keep in mind you need to hike some stairs to reach it, but it’s worth it
You should book this place in advance. We came at 13 to reserve the table, and the only free suggestion for us was table at 21:00. The food was good, but for my taste it was too much olive oil ( we ordered dried horse with ruccola salad, fresh tuna steaks). But tuna steak was very good, but sadly, again, it tasted like olive oil... Starters were quite good. Tiramisu was good, too sweet for us and too much cream, but it tasted good and homemade. Waitresses were nice and very noticeable. Prices are high, with starters, main courses and 2 tiramisu we paid 117 euros.
The best restaurant in Manarola - great seafood pasta dishes, great service and amazing wine selection too. Thank you!

Great food and view. I had the steak and black pasta it was a very good meal with friendly service. The wine was also very good.
Crowded but friendly staff and really good food (pasta, sea food) for a reasonable price - highly recommendable. Visited with a group of 25 based on a reservation. Please consider sufficient time! …

Hillside restaurant with sea view terrace for seafood lunch. Fish dish was so fresh; stuffed mussels just okay; overcooked squid dish was disappointing. Overall, after long walk in this commune, it’s a great spot to recharge your batteries. One of our expensive lunch experiences in Italy.
The pasta was very very good. We only had one meal in Cinque Terra, and this was the meal we decided to go with although the price was slightly above average but it was definitely worth it even if it just for the views alone the pasta was definitely elevated from traditional Italian pasta that we’ve had during our trip in Italy, it had elevated flavours and it felt complete. The seafood taste of fresh. I had to clam pasta cleanse definitely fresh the fish roll was a very good touch to the dish and not mention that I had the local produced white wine to go with the meal. The only downside was I felt like a waitress was a little bit impatient with us.
Finding the restaurant was a fun experience in its self for a couple unused to the narrow streets and even narrower stairs. The tuna tartar was excellent and the pasta was good.

Trattoria del Billy has a beautiful sunset view, even if we didn’t get seated in a spot where we could actually enjoy it. Definitely make a reservation a couple of days ahead because they book up fast, and the place is popular with visitors who swear it’s the best in Manarola. That said, the service was rough. The staff felt inattentive, and even when I was ready to pay, it took forever just to get the bill. They never came back to collect the payment, so I had to walk up to the register myself… and still wait for someone to take it. And honestly, they weren’t even busy. The food itself was good, though not the best I’ve had in Manarola. The grilled sardines (five pieces) were tasty with bread. The seafood spaghetti, frutti di mare, was excellent with a solid portion size. The “giant” grilled prawns were flavorful but definitely not giant; you’ll still be hungry unless you order something else. The grilled vegetables were a bit soggy and underwhelming. I kind of wish we’d gone for the lobster pasta special. I saw it at other tables and it looked incredible. Overall: good food, great views, but service that needs improvement. Not a bad meal, but not the must-visit some make it out to be.
Nice ambience and view over the town. Food was average quality. Nothing outstanding. The seafood spaghetti had a generous amount of seafood but the sauce was very over seasoned with salt. Stuffed mussels were also average. Tiramisu was standard, not bad but nothing that stood out about it. Very high up the stairs, may not be accessible for the less mobile. It's also cold outside with only 1 small heater. The reviews over hyped this restaurant who are probably enamored by the view
Amazing view, below average service. This spot requires quite a climb up the hill but the view is stunning. Of course, try to visit around sunset and ask for a table by the railing. The service was disappointing, incredibly direct, not even a greeting when we sat down. We had the tuna tar tar (all you taste is olive oil), the mussels (huge portion, great for 2 people) and for dinner we had a seafood pasta. There were only 4 shrimp in the pasta dish, a bit disappointing. I’m glad we tried it but I wouldn’t recommend to a friend or visit again.
Not what we were expecting. Beautiful views, yes, but the food was average (at best) and we found the service disinterested and not very helpful. We asked the typical menu and wine questions (lov…

My party wasn’t a fan of the food, which was overall rather bland. One disappointing aspect is that several of their most attractive sounding menu options are served unconditionally for 2-3 people (and at a price for 2-3 people), so it requires quite a bit of cooperation and agreement on the same highlighted dish. A got the single serving pasta with their “Billy sauce” with seemed to essentially be a dash of diced tomato and sauce, with an overuse of pepper.
