IL PORTICO è sempre una certezza, Sono andata altre volte per cene importanti, in famiglia e consiglio a tutti di provare questo ristorante, vi innamorerete di sicuro. Abbinamenti interessanti, materie prime sceltissime e servizio impeccabile. Siamo andate in 3 allergiche al glutine e ci hanno aggiustato il menù, per le nostre esigenze ❤ Torneremo sicuramente più spesso
Il portico di Appiano Gentile a mezzogiorno propone una cucina semplice ma con prodotti del territorio freschissimi. Peculiarità di questo ristorante è che impiattare spetta al cliente. Poco male il rapporto qualità prezzo premia la qualità.
Il locale ben arredato, particolare. Il servizio impeccabile e il cibo di qualità. E stato un pranzo piacevole, abbinamenti particolari. Da provare!

In Como's touristy, mid- to low-quality cuisine, at ridiculously high prices, Il Portico is always a guarantee. Chef Paolo is as close to a humble artist as you can get. He takes exceptional ingredients and treats them with incredible grace and technique. His skill shines through in the simple things. I've tried his pickled chestnuts and horseradish giardiniera...and the incredible thing is that these dishes aren't even on the menu; they're a surprise before the meal. And when you start like this, you can only enjoy everything else. Truly incredible. I always love returning because it's a warm, welcoming place where the food is divine. You still have the same surprise you felt when you sat down at Grandma's table on Sundays and didn't know what you were eating, but you knew it would be delicious and warm your soul. A special mention goes to all the staff...very kind and knowledgeable. A discreet and gentle presence, yet extremely attentive. I brought my wife, who is celiac and pregnant, and despite their fixed menu, they prepared everything with unique delicacy. Thank you for existing.
Can I say?! Absolutely mind-blowing! A crazy and surprising culinary journey. I don't like experimenting, but here it was worth it. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The ambiance is interesting, as the furnishings are almost entirely modern works of art, but for my personal taste, something is missing. But as I said, that's subjective. The real highlight is the food! Delicious, astonishing, perfect. Haute cuisine at a more than reasonable price.
At Paolo's, the experience is unique, with flavors ingeniously crafted from the simplicity and purity of the ingredients used and the simplicity of how they're expertly cooked. An intimate venue perfect for special moments. Refined food and intriguing, striking combinations. The menu is only revealed when you sit down (it's later posted on their Instagram). We had brunch (the only Sunday lunch menu). More than a brunch, it was a true journey of discovery. To begin, we savored: - "egg all'uovo cacio e pepe" (egg-based cacio e pepe) with pear juice; - fried shad sandwich, avocado, and sweet mustard; - hazelnut, lemon, and clove butter with homemade sourdough bread; - swivel of leavened dough with raisins soaked in anise and anchovy paste custard; - savory flan with sunflower seeds and parmesan; - tempura-fried quail souce with pickled onion, honey, and ginger; And we finished with: Lake fish imbrogliata with tomato saline and toasted capers; -Fior di latte gelato with blackberry compote, fig must, and almond reduction; -Chantilly cream and curry -Puff pastry Brunch cost €55 We drank a bottle of natural wine (€38), which, in my opinion, was a bit pricey. Everything was excellent, the waiter was truly hospitable, and the service impeccable. I think I would expand the wine cellar.
We've launched our first Sunday brunch of the season. A magnificent experience characterized by special flavors prepared with skill and passion. Cuisine that touches your heart and evokes incredible emotions! Thanks to the maître d' and the dining room staff for their hospitality, and to Chef Paolo Lo Priore and his kitchen staff for the works of art they offered. Visiting you filled us with joy.
Amaising and magificien food and chief
We tried the all-you-can-eat lunch option with water, dessert, and coffee for €16 (a truly reasonable price). The bread is excellent, served with very good butter. The idea of serving the condiments separately is interesting and fun, making the guest the star and creator of the dish. Very friendly and fast service. Definitely worth a try for dinner. Visiting Paolo Lopriore, one of Italy's best chefs, is definitely worth the trip.

One of the most underrated chefs in the world
Il Portico is a charming restaurant for those who enjoy having fun with food. The technique used by chef Paolo Lopriore in preparing his dishes is truly astonishing! Among the appetizers, all exquisite, one in particular will always be remembered: I think I ate the best egg of my entire life, even though I don't like eggs! For dessert, I went crazy for the licorice ice cream and Chantilly cream. A pure feast of flavors in your mouth, enough to give you goosebumps! The bread is exceptional! The staff is very friendly, and the service is attentive and meticulous. However, I would like to comment on a couple of things: the first is that the wine list only features organic wines. I would, however, add a few non-organic wines, so that guests aren't forced to drink only organic. The second thing I'd like to comment on is that I find it too restrictive for guests not to be able to choose their main course. The menu only featured one main course, veal cheek. As a customer, since this was the main course, I would have liked to have at least two options: either two different meats, or one meat or one fish... But there was no other choice: either the veal cheek or nothing else. In any case, it was a very, very pleasant gastronomic experience. The prices are very fair. Highly recommended!
I admit, our expectations were quite high. We really enjoyed the homemade bread, served with a butter spread. The wine selection was limited, with lesser-known labels from organic wineries (three options for red), but the bottle we tried was excellent. Exploring the menu just before the appetizer is served is fun, and you can report any intolerances or allergies in advance. Each ingredient is placed at the table in separate containers so that each diner can choose how to assemble their dish. I would have appreciated an explanation or suggestions on the composition options, beyond the list of ingredients placed on the table. For example, with the profiteroles, the two accompanying sauces, if used simultaneously, would have ruined the dessert. As for the first course, unfortunately, we didn't like it. The turnip greens were a little overcooked for my taste, and the flavor of the fish in the meatballs was covered by the breading. Overall, we weren't entirely satisfied with the experience, but it might have been an unlucky evening. I'll try again.
Posh place, very slow serving, not suitable for children. Some of the dishes were good, but we had bad fish.
I booked over phone, came 10 mins early and had to wait in the rain outside, was not offered to come in...Food ok, extremely slow service: waited almost 2 hours for main course and left. Pretentious but not worth the money and the drive.
