Easily the best meal we had in Turin. Trattoria Bar Coco feels completely authentic — busy, loud in the right way, and full of locals, which is always a good sign. The atmosphere is properly alive and the food is outstanding for the price. We loved it so much we went back twice in four days, which says everything. Simple, honest cooking done extremely well, great value, and no fuss. If you want a true Turin trattoria experience rather than something touristy, this is the place.

Trattoria Bar Coco's is exactly what you hope to find when searching for authentic, no-frill Piemontese cuisine in Turin. Conveniently located near Piazza Madama Cristina, this charming trattoria delivers on all fronts: exceptional regional dishes, wallet-friendly prices, and that warm, rustic atmosphere that makes you feel like a local. Wooden tables, chairs all different, old postcards on the walls alongside a poster of the Grande Torino, and paper placemats featuring Tex comics. Coco's has been around since 1973 and it shows. After multiple visits, I can confidently say every dish has been outstanding and consistently high quality. The kitchen clearly takes pride in their craft. The Tris Piemontese is a perfect introduction to the region's flavors—featuring peppers with anchovies "al verde," primo sale cheese paired with orange jam, and their signature rabbit prepared tuna-style. The Ravioles della Val Variata al Tomino di Melle con Panna e Noce Moscata, the Risotto con Asparagi e Crescenza, and Gnocchi al Castelmagno all use simple ingredients, when treated with care and passion. The manu changes often, so come often and try something different every time. Open 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM for lunch service; no reservations. Arrive early as this place is popular with the locals. Open for dinner on Friday and Saturday; reservations recommended.

Fabulous! It's a really authentic place to eat home cooked food and mingle with locals. No booking. All seem to be welcome. We had to visit three times in a week. I wish I knew of such a place in the UK!

What a fabulous example of the classic Piemontese piola. In the Piemontese dialect, the piola is the village inn, the place where you eat traditional dishes and drink generous glasses of local wine. That certainly sums up Trattoria Bar Coco just off the Via Madama Christina. Food is delicious, house wine is simple and very good and the service is in the classic mode of the Northern Italian family restaurant where everybody knows your name, even if it is your first visit. I don't think they take reservations (at least for lunch) so if you are hungry get there when they open at noon. The place is small and fills up fast, but on a Saturday, the longest wait I saw was half an hour. You can always enjoy a glass of wine at a table outside while you wait. Outstanding and definitely needs to be on your Torino list.

Historical place. A corner of veracidity in a sea of trendy copy-cats. The food? It s honest and delicious. A short menu of tradition, with fresh ingredients supplied by the nearby open market, artfully combined with surprising simplicity. The service? Four brothers with totally different personalities who really know what they are doing and work like a well-oiled machine. Corteus and knowledgeable. The place? Decades of history on the walls, of the owners, their friends, the customers, of torino, hundreds of pictures, post cards and what not. I am there too, somewhere... You need to call for reservations for dinner well in advance: they are always full. Wonder why 😉

If we’re ever back in Turin, we’ll be back here! The Piemontese food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The owners are 4 brothers who are incredibly friendly and make the experience so much fun. The tagliatelle with rabbit ragu (tagliatelle al ragù di coniglio) and the lard with hazelnuts and honey (lardo con miele e nocciole) were our favorite dishes! Make sure to call ahead for a reservation if you can! I went with my Italian in-laws who could help me to translate, but if you’re a respectful (non-obnoxious) tourist, I’m sure you’ll have a great time as well at this trattoria!

Excellent. We ordered 6 dishes all were excellent. Pasta was amazing all italian friens agreed and meat was exquisite. Service was a bit bad at first glance since the place was crowded by then waiters became more friendly and after paying we were offered 4 extra free grappa shots.

Trattoria con piatti Piemontesi, arredamento anni 80 mantenuto appositamente, pochi posti, un po' stretti, m'ha nel complesso si sta bene. La qualità dei piatti è buona, quantitativo giusto, servizio buono. Il conto l' ho trovato giusto. In conclusione una Trattoria da provare, consigliata!!!

Trattoria - o meglio Piola - che rispecchia a pieno la tradizione culinaria torinese. Devo attribuire 4 stelle perché nei piatti che ho scelto non ho trovato nulla di eccezionale, ma lasciano la voglia di tornare e provare tutto il "repertorio". Approvato, alla prossima!

Piccola trattoria poco distante dal centro, vicino San Salvario. Non ha un menù fisso, ma i prezzi dei singoli piatti son comunque in linea con la bontà degli stessi. È un luogo accogliente e vintage, dove si fa un salto nel passato sia per l'arredamento che per le tantissime foto appese ai muri. Le porzioni son abbondanti, tant'è che a pranzo direi che un primo o un secondo, basta e avanza. L'arrabbiata era un po' poco arrabbiata, ma tutto sommato buona. Se vi trovate da queste parti, fateci un salto.

Osteria piemontese in San Salvario visitata per una cena tra amici. Menu della tradizione anche se non entusiasmante, fatta eccezione per un brasato di guancia veramente ottimo. Ambiente piacevole e un po' spartano. Vino della casa nella media.

Scoperta in una delle mie visite a Torino, in San Salvario. Abbiamo cenato tra amici, preso litro di vino, acqua, tre antipasti e quattro secondi: speso a testa 25€. Direi ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, piatti abbondanti e buone materie prime. Il gestore/proprietario non cordialissimo ma poteva essere una serata no. Atmosfera e cibo casalingo, siamo stati bene, ci tornerei.

Trattoria tipica dove il tempo pare essersi fermato. Ottima cucina locale al giusto prezzo. Vicino alla stazione di porta Nuova raggiungibile comodamente a piedi.

Sono stata da Coco's già due volte, ed ogni volta sono rimasta contenta! Cibo ottimo e rapporto qualità prezzo perfetto, anche il servizio cortese e informale. Accogliente l'ambiente

Great Food. Ate really well and fair prices for a good Italian experience. The waiter was a bit rude because he wanted me to sit at a smaller table (I had a 70 kg dog with me, so I needed room)... He ended up understanding and let us stay on the bigger table. The only negative point is that they took ages for serving the food. But the food was very good

Trattoria nel cuore di San salvarlo. Prezzi modesti e un risultato soddisfacente. La cena è iniziato con un misto di antipasti per 3 persone (14€), a seguire chicche con toma e granelli di pistacchio e come dolce panna cotta. Il tutto accompagnato dal vino sfuso della casa niente male. Costo totale 23€. Locale molto carino, tipico della trattoria italiana, personale accogliente ma non troppo e non troppo affollato. Ci ritornerò.

Unfortunately i was very disappointed. the waiter was indeed very rude. he really threw the bread on the table. then he emptied a glass on my pocket, did not say sorry. zero excuse, too much ego. after 50min of waiting again i asked when my order will arrive. he told me to leave if wasnt happy. this is what i did after i payed for my order. i am sure there are better places to dine arround. it indeed was a very bad experiwncw. keep your eyes open for an other restaurant arround the corner.
