Perfetto tutto.
Gustosa carne piemontese.
Location dall'ambiente rustico e molto curato. Servizio lodevole.
Pranzo PERFETTO in tutto!
Incredible! I will definitely come here again. The food is absolutely delicious and the people were friendly and welcoming. My Italian is sadly lacking and they were very happy to take the time to explain the menu in English, even though the restaurant was really busy.
Great experience, super warm staff and incredible food!! If you say service is slow go get McDonalds
Very cozy, home style cooking, amizing traditional regional food! And absolute must try in Torino!
Service was slow but the staff was so friendly and the waiter spoke excellent English. Environment was warm food was good quality. We got the complete menu which was 25 euros that included 3 dishes, water, dessert and a cup of wine per person. We also weren’t charged an extra service fee even though it says it on the menu it was a pleasant surprise. If you are on a budget but still want to experience Piedmontese dishes this place is the right place for you.
Super restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food. Plates are generous and pricing is low for the quantity and quality, so it is excellent value. Same goes for the wine we had. I can recommend this place without hesitation and we will return for another meal. As an aside, we asked to buy a couple of wine glasses from them as our hotel room did not supply any. The staff gave us two on our way out the door! Amazing, and thank you so much.
Excellent food (antipasti, pasta, tagliata, desert) each with a surprising note, good, unpretentious wine, very pleasant atmosphere, honest and reasonable prices. Profesional, amiable, friendly staff. Number one choice if ever again in Turin.
Excellent food, very tasty, exceptional service, reasonably priced. Reservation needed, due to high demand. Highly recommended!
Great restaurant with super friendly staff, they seem to have a mix of locals and tourists. They offer a very good value tasting menu for tourists to try some of the local dishes from the area. We had 3 little starters, then pasta, dessert and a fantastic local wine. All for a reasonable price. The gentleman servicing us was kind, patient and informative. The staff had a family feel and were all polite.
Can they do any better? Delicious traditional food at unbelievable prices. We chose the 3 course menu, including a generous glass of wine, a glass of processo and bread. The vegetarian 3 course-menu consisted of a zucchini salad to start, a gnocchi with gorgonzola and a desert of choice. The service was very friendly, almost family like, very welcoming. Will go there again, and book because it's often full.
The restaurant came up when searching for Piedmont food (and open) near my hotel my first night in Torino. I was able to get a table without a reservation but my impression is you should have one. The owner suggested I order a full Piedmont dinner complete with antipasto, primi, secundo, and dessert. It was the best meal I had in the city. The veal antipasto was amazing and something I probably would not have tried without the full menu. The agnolotti was also my favorite in the city. My only regret is that because I went there first, none of my other meals could compare
This restaurant was our absolute favourite! With the atmosphere as well as food quality and service provided by our host Claudio we could not be more satisfied! If you come here do not expect to be coddled by the overbearing staff, instead you will find the perfect example of Italian hospitality and traditional Piedmont cuisine! Claudio went above and beyond in providing the exceptional service! Would definitely recommend if you are in Torino! Grazie mille per tutto!
They are just the best! We were looking for the nice place to eat next to our apartments, but didn't expected it would be so good. Menu 25€ including 3 dishes + dessert + water + 1 glass of wine (but we were probably lucky and they left us almost full bottle of the wine 😉 Fast and experienced servece. My personal top of Turin. Davvero bravi
The food is decent, the owner takes his time time among all the hectic of his job to describe and recommend dishes. What I found exceptional was the hospitality, I went there alone and without reservation and this combination usually is a bad luck gurantees in many restaurants. Not here, in fact the owner had no rush to get the table free for the next guest even though the restaurant was fully occupied. I really enjoyed my stay here and can only recommend them. The only thing where I would advise caution: the restaurant is usually full, better reserve a table or come early.
The magic of Piedmont, Italy, came alive at Osteria del Frate, through its robust traditional menu that serves culinary excellence at an astonishing value. Each dish we tried tasted like a piece of regional heritage, handcrafted to perfection, brimming with flavors as rich and diverse as Piedmont itself. In terms of service, Osteria del Frate excels equally. The staff was quick, efficient, and cordial. Our dishes arrived promptly, and any queries we had were met with warm smiles and knowledgeable answers. They made us feel at home, amplifying the overall dining experience. As for the pricing, Osteria del Frate truly surprises. Such excellent quality of food and service at a very reasonable cost is a testament to their commitment to providing an accessible, outstanding gastronomic experience. In conclusion, Highly recommended!
Osteria del Frate, located in the vibrant city of Torino, transcends the traditional definition of an 'osteria'. This place is more than a mere dining establishment; it is an embodiment of warmth and familiarity, reminiscent of visiting a cherished aunt or a close family member. The moment you step in, you are welcomed into an atmosphere that resonates with homely comfort and inviting charm. Our culinary journey at Osteria del Frate was an interesting one. Rather than adhering to a fixed menu, we decided to entrust our dining experience to the expertise of the kitchen. We asked for the best they had to offer, and the results were stunningly delightful. The staff served us a full course meal, replete with various dishes that had been thoughtfully curated and skillfully prepared. Each course was a revelation, not just in terms of flavor but also in its presentation and the unique story it seemed to tell. However, the allure of Osteria del Frate does not merely lie in its culinary prowess. Undoubtedly, Italy is filled with places that can satiate your appetite with good food, but it's the soulful connection that sets this osteria apart. It's about the heartfelt hospitality that pervades the entire dining experience, making you feel right at home. Here, the people are not just servers but gracious hosts who go above and beyond to create a sense of belonging. What was equally surprising was the value for money. Without revealing the exact amount, let's just say that what we paid for two full course menus, complete with water and wine, was astonishingly reasonable. The pricing might seem unbelievable given the quality of food and service, but it's one of those experiences that you need to witness for yourself to fully appreciate. All in all, Osteria del Frate isn't just a place to dine, but a place to immerse yourself in an authentic Italian experience, from the food and the ambiance to the congenial service. It's a place that captivates not just your palate, but also your heart. I sincerely hope you get the opportunity to witness this delightful gem in Torino for yourselves.

It doesn't look much from the outside, but by the end if the evening they were turning people away. We had 5 courses and wine for a very reasonable price. A short walk from the old city centre.

Personale estremamente gentile e disponibile.
A bit like nonna's house, full of locals; set menu on Sunday was slice of salami, vitello tonnato, fab ravioli, industrial pasta but the sauce was rich and flavoursome, and roast pork w lumpy mash, but tasty and soft meat makes up for it. Had no room for dessert, just had a bit of what seemed as bought-in sorbet. The lady front of house seemed in back pain, so not as friendly as the younger and older guys serving, they were super lovely. If you are on the budget this is a great choice - al of the above plus small jug of half decent wine - €25. Full of locals, mostly groups of friends or extended families.
Authentic Piedmontese cuisine recommended by my airbnb host that seemingly only serve only local diners. For just 25 euro, the set menu includes 4 courses and a glass of wine. I took the waiter’s suggestion on dishes to what was an introduction to Torino regional food. Really unbeatable combination of value and taste!

With this review I'm not gonna tell you to not visit this place but just wanted to share my experience so that the restaurant and people would be aware. Me and my friend are travelling and are not from Italy and that was not a problem until this restaurant. The whole experience felt like they were treating us unfriendly and almost trying to humiliate when we actually didn't do anything wrong. We just wanted to try out the restaurant since there were many good reviews about it. We didn't have reservations maybe that was the problem but instead of telling us that they don't want us here they just let us sit so the reservations are not necessary. Then the waiter came with two glasses of wine (we didn't request any alcohol and we don't even drink that) and gave the degustative menus. We came here only to try out gnocchi so that was strange that they didn't offer the regular menu with the degustative one. Luckily the other waitress was friendly and was okay with bringing us not the degustative option. Then as we waited for our food more customers came and they were welcomed more friendly than us (they didn't have reservations too but spoke italian) and the waiter asked them which type of alcohol they would like and even filled their glasses with water (for us he just brought the bottle to fill them up ourselves which isn't a problem just the difference with other customers made it strange), then he randomly brought us antipasti which we didn't order as it was "usual" but we don't eat that and we didn't order it in the first place so that was strange as with the glasses of wine. The gnocchi were not the best we've ever got so the food didn't uplift the situation. Then after that when we asked to pay they took a long time to bring us the check and when we asked to pay with card they took even longer to bring the check. At the end of the experience it seemed like waiters started to act nicer towards us but it did not look genuine so it was all a big disappointment. Overall, did not like the experience, the atmosphere or the food so personally we would not recommend visiting here but maybe it is just our experience
