We stopped for lunch to try pumpkin tortelli. We ended up trying both the tortelli and the other ravioli: excellent! Good selection of craft beers and wines, including by the glass. Recommended!

One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Excellent trio of tortelli, each better than the last; exquisite lasagna with pumpkin, taleggio cheese, and sausage; and best of all, the donkey stew, very flavorful and tender. Being a wine bar, there's a wide selection. To finish, a delicious sbrisolona with warm zabaglione cream. Friendly staff, quick service. It's a small restaurant, so booking in advance is recommended: we wanted to return the following day, but it was fully booked.

We sampled excellent local cured meats and cheeses, and a trio of Mantovani ravioli, accompanied by a good local Lambrusco. The staff were friendly, the space was small but welcoming, and the prices were moderate.

We felt welcomed. Kindness reigns supreme here. The menu is short but carefully curated and suitable for all tastes (plus, the chef was very kind in adapting the dishes to our needs and intolerances). The restaurant is small but charming, with a stone vaulted ceiling. Highly recommended. We booked the night before, and it was sufficient. But seating is limited, so I recommend not waiting. The price is very fair: well done!

The place isn't large, but it's extremely welcoming. The owners are incredibly kind and lovely, and you can feel the passion they put into running the place. We had a wonderful dinner. We ordered a second serving of tortelli, lasagnette with pumpkin cream (truly superb), and the braised cheek and Sbrisolona with zabaglione. We paid around €30 each. The price was absolutely reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food served. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Intrigued by the reviews, we went in and found room for two. I recommend booking in advance, as it's not very big but still very welcoming. We tried the trio of tortelli, which was truly delicious, and a quality Lambrusco Mantovano. Classic and delicious desserts, highly recommended.

Alla buca della Gabbia Mantova locale tipico dove poter degustare specialità del territorio mantovano,come i tortelli nei vari gusti e gli affettati.Il locale è situato sotto l’imponente torre della gabbia e dispone di molti tavoli ma con poco spazio tra di essi,nel complesso abbiamo mangiato bene ed il servizio da parte dei proprietari e del persona è buono.La qualità dei vini è stata mediamente buona,mi aspettavo qualcosa di più essendo una enoteca !

Locale informale, sevizio cortese, caloroso e veloce. Ci siamo fermati per un aperitivo, che poi si è trasformato in un vero pranzo. Siamo usciti ammaliati dal sapore della cucina Mantovana, e soddisfatti dall’ottimo rapporto qualità e prezzo. Consiglio di far tappa nonostante a noi non é stato offerto l’amaro

A small basement restaurant in the heart of Mantua's historic center. Friendly staff who immediately attend to your needs. Dishes and wines are distinctive. I had an appetizer of cheese, salami, cracklings, and mustard, followed by a delicious donkey stew. I complimented the chef. The price is average considering the location. It's best to book in advance.

We went there on a Saturday for lunch. We were 3 and ordered 3 different types of fresh pasta. 5 mins after ordering all 3 plates were there. Wow, 5 min only ? There was some water in the plate, not good. Pasta were crunchy on the outside, weird texture. We are pretty sure that they microwaved the plates (especially since we heard a microwave right after we ordered, coincidence ?). What a shame in Italy. Would not recommend at all. 2 stars only because the Lambrusco was very good.

Very disappointing. We took pasta and we expected a cooked dish, not a microwaved one… such a shame for an Italian place to microwave pasta! The taste was ok but the texture was definitely not the right one. I wouldn’t go there if I were you!
