Mouth-watering! Mario Rivaro offers a wide range of artisanal gelato with surprising flavors—just try the hazelnut gelato—and a bar area with excellent cocktails, appetizers, and pastries. I went there for a birthday aperitif and was amazed by the originality of some of the dishes, like the prosciutto paired with melon gelato! A must-try!!!

The gelato tasted good, but there must have been some problem with the refrigerator because some flavors were rock hard and others very soft... In any case, the Piazza delle Erbe location is much better.

Non so cosa sia successo a questo locale nell’ultimo periodo. Prima ci andavo molto spesso, e lo trovavo un posto con tantissimo potenziale, nonostante il personale sia sempre stato un pochino particolare. Però, era un locale con vita, fornito, ordinato, pulito. Ci sono tornata recentemente, e sono rimasta molto sorpresa per come l’ho trovato. Persona dietro al banco assente, paragonabile ad un fantasma, assolutamente non idonea per questo tipo di lavoro che richiede grinta ed entusiasmo. Disordine ovunque, sporco, con l’esterno praticamente abbandonato: tovaglie vecchie, sporche, scolorite, briciole ovunque, assenza di posaceneri, assoluta mancanza di cura. In aggiunta, per un cappuccino e una brioche di quelle surgelate, ho pagato ben 4 euro, prezzo che non ho mai raggiunto in questo quartiere. Non vorrei dire che non ci andrò mai più, ma vista la sfilza di recensioni negative, io mi auguro che il titolare faccia qualcosa in modo da recuperare la reputazione che era riuscito ad acquisire in precedenza per questo locale, iniziando forse proprio dal personale.

AGGIORNAMENTO: sono tornato dopo qualche mese per ricredermi di quanto accaduto e purtroppo è sempre sporco. Mi spiace davvero, perché un bar così piacevole, moderno rispetto al quartiere e con una terrazza così grande deve fornire un'attenzione al cliente diversa. Ultimamente c'è stato un crollo verticale nel servizio. Era già accaduto un paio di volte di trovare la tazzina sporca, il bancone non pulito ecc ecc, ma stamattina la tazzina aveva del rossetto sul bordo, altri segni di scarsa pulizia e il piccolo bricco del latte aveva vari puntini neri e un pelo dentro. Ho fatto notare tutto il ragazzo dietro al bancone. Peccato, era il bar di riferimento, ma non ci tornerò finché non avranno realmente cambiato le cose.

Se si potesse darei ancora molto meno di una stella! Per due aperitivi piu un piattino così composto 2 pezzetti di frittata infinitesimali, 3 pezzetti di focaccia 1 tramezzino diviso in 4 parti, abbiamo preso un unteriore aperitivo senza piattino (so bene che non si va per cenare) alla mia richiesta di noccioline o patatine ne erano sprovvisti! Morale totale della spesa 30 euro ! Non ci metto una pietra sopra al bar ma un macigno!!! Maiiiii più

The dessert counter was empty and for the savoury food there were 3 teanezxini and 3 piadinas at 3.30pm, the ice cream was mush, if you want water they only keep it in the fridge, the cappuccino was cold, it's very noisy, the service is lacking, they don't even know the flavours of ice cream they sell.... I definitely won't see it again and I don't recommend it.

I've been there for a few months and I have to say it's pretty subpar. The outdoor tables are spotless. You have to ask the staff to list the ice cream flavors. However, the staff is really busy minding their own business. I strongly advise against it.

A nice place, but terribly managed. The staff is distracted, doesn't listen, and is clearly minding their own business. The pigeons feasting on the outside tables are truly disgusting to see.

It's a shame about this lovely place, which could be managed differently. The staff minds their own business, chats with friends, and doesn't take care of the customers. To get a tub of ice cream, you have to wait for them to list all the flavors verbally because no one puts labels on them. The tables aren't cleared quickly, so they're full of feasting pigeons, and no one pays attention to you. Having a nice bar with a well-managed outdoor space in the neighborhood would be a winner.

I sit down to find some coolness in the outdoor area... dirty tables, with the "leftovers" of previous drinks, sugar on the chairs and pigeons wandering around undisturbed. The staff doesn't move and after 5 minutes I come in to place my order... I ask for various soft drinks and non-alcoholic drinks... nothing, they don't have any. I ask for a famous non-alcoholic drink... Not even that... at that point I take a similar alternative and a small bottle of water... which are kindly handed to me, without any accompaniment to the aperitif... NON-EXISTENT service and I won't comment further, it would be useless.

If I could, I'd give it zero stars. Last night I went with a friend for a drink. We said hello and sat down. The guy behind the bar didn't pay attention to us for at least 10-15 minutes, so I got up and asked him what we wanted. He started serving other tables, then came back to us and, in a really impolite tone (to say the least), began with, "What did you want?" So my friend repeated the order and, after preparing it for us, she left the drinks on the counter in a truly rude way. We took our own (self-service 😂). She didn't ask us if we wanted an aperitif or something to eat, and she didn't even bring us two chips, dead from sleep. Terrible service, and a really rude and rude guy. A real shame because they don't have the kindness and politeness to serve customers. I'd ask myself a few questions.

It's a shame to have to change my mind about a place where I had always been happy. Unfortunately, the person who served us was quite rude, giving us the impression of being a nuisance just for asking for an ice cream. The ice creams were badly whipped, made in a hurry, and melted immediately. We had asked for a wafer and they gave us the large one without asking, making us pay 4 euros for an ice cream that we didn't want just like that. I understand it was a lot of work, but rudeness is never justifiable. After today, I don't think I'll be back.

- 3 STARS Yesterday, June 24, 2025, with my husband and three other friends, we went to have an aperitif at the Bar Mario Rivaro, before making us sit at the table they made us wait for half an hour outside the place but not because there were people because they didn't prepare the table so we could sit comfortably. We sat at the table and after about half an hour they came to take our cocktail orders. The cocktails arrived (services were also rude) and only at that point they told us that they had nothing to eat because they had finished everything, bringing us with the aperitifs a sandwich, COLD, divided into 5 and two grilled carrots telling us: "we have nothing else we will prepare you some pasta" which obviously we waited a long time and then not even eat it because they did not serve it to us at that point we got a little angry we argued a little with the guy at the counter and we left paying a good €40 for 5 cocktails having not eaten anything is it possible that they also finished the pasta? And then the shopkeepers complain that there is no work around but if they put people like that behind a counter...... help!!!!!
