Parcheggio Gratis! Personale gentile e piatti molto buoni.
A fantastic refuge... a spectacular visit!! And a family welcome!! The food was delicious... and I still have to try the black soup... and I can't wait to go back!!
Stunning view! I've been coming to Vigezzo for many years, and this is my favorite restaurant. The food is delicious and you can admire a wonderful view both from the tables on the outdoor terrace and from inside thanks to the large windows. The mountain-style atmosphere is well-kept, suitable for children with a special menu and a changing table in the bathroom. Outside, there's a giant bench, easily accessible, for souvenir photos!
We've been coming to this place for many years, and it's a real gem! The food is excellent (the polenta and various stews are a must). We personally go for dessert, the bombetta (pictured), a bread and raisin cake, served with vanilla ice cream and cream, all topped with caramel. It's also ideal for children, with dedicated indoor and outdoor play areas. They also have a changing table and high chairs. The restaurant has an outdoor area where you can sunbathe, or you can spread out a towel on the lawn in front. What can I say? It's a constant reminder! 🫶🏻
This is one of my favorite places in the area. Excellent food (the zuppa negra is a must-try, but reservations are required). The polenta and cheese are delicious, but everything is truly exceptional. The service is quick and easy, and the place is super welcoming, even for children, who are welcome and have their own play area inside and outside. Highly recommended!
Great icecream/gelato! Friendly service and meal of the day.
Ottimo !
I ate at this splendid refuge on January 1st for lunch, and it was a pleasant discovery. Like most refuges, the Rifugio del Moro has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, with exposed wooden beams that lend a rustic touch typical of the area. Choosing the menu was very difficult, as the pasta and gnocchi are all homemade. But given the cold, I wanted to treat myself to some delicious polenta! I chose the "tasting" menu with sautéed mushrooms, fondue, veal stew with mushrooms, bruscitt, and venison stew, the latter truly delicious! For an appetizer, I tried the classic platter of local cured meats and cheeses, all very good. I recommend this refuge as a break after long hikes or simply for those who want to sample the typical local cuisine.
Nice refuge, also easy to reach by car. We went for lunch on August 15th. The food was good but nothing special, average for the area. Overall, very good.
The view is beautiful, and the interior also has that sense of refuge one seeks in these places. The polenta is tender, and the accompanying venison and veal are well-cooked and flavorful. The wine is served chilled, which is why I don't give it a high rating. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit.
A panoramic restaurant with an excellent menu focusing on traditional dishes. The signature dish is, of course, polenta, available in a variety of delicious variations. It also has a terrace where you can enjoy the spectacular surrounding nature. Despite its relatively high altitude (about 1,200 meters), it's a great place to recharge from the summer heat and enjoy dishes like polenta, more suited to the winter season. Easily accessible from Santa Maria, Malesco, and Finero. Highly recommended.
This is what I define a place for 'ignorant food'. Made of genuine ingredients, no frills or cool stuff, just passion, love and true recipes. To taste the black soup (zuppa negra) or the cheese fondue you need to reserve it in advance. With 25€ each you can also have a b&b accomodation. The view from the outside solarium and the restaurant is priceless. The restaurant is family friendly, with a corner plenty of toys
Servizio e ambiente molto piacevole e cortese e grande disponibilità. Panorama meraviglioso. Grande varietà di cibo che però non è stato per niente di mio gusto purtroppo, nessuno dei piatti. Dal primo al dolce. Mi è spiaciuto molto.
I went for lunch during the chimney sweeps' meeting. We booked for four people, two couples of friends, and reading the reviews, our expectations were really high. The first disappointment was not being able to have polenta and snails (we only learned upon arrival that we had to book them). So, okay, we ordered three dishes with polenta and a mixed appetizer, and a children's menu with meatloaf and baked potatoes. The polenta was really not enough, not even enough to finish half of the bowls, and the mixed appetizer was very questionable. In fact, the ragù and stew weren't touched; the stew was tough and the ragù tasteless. Then we ate half of the two slices of very tough meatloaf, too. We shared the baked potatoes with our friends. So, three dishes with polenta, one children's menu, two bottles of water and half a liter of wine, €27 per person. I'd say a bit too much for not having eaten well....I'm really sorry, I'll definitely find out more next time.
Good but not great. Nice, simple location, but with a stunning view. Since it's the height of summer and the view is breathtaking, I'd repeatedly specified that I wanted an outside table when booking. Obviously, once we arrived, they gave us a table inside because everything outside was full (had we known, we would have opted for another restaurant). The polenta was very good, with a fairly good stew, but not what I expected. The fondue gnocchi were very good, and the sausage was a bit too spicy, so the child, who loves sausage, didn't eat it. But the highlight were the desserts, inedible and awful. My cream and fruit cake looked like someone had vomited it onto my plate, left practically untouched. The blueberry cake was also horrible. The restaurant area is clean, with tablecloths and dishes. The children's play area is full of various junk and seemed dirty to me, as was the bathroom. By changing and improving the desserts and keeping their word, they would certainly have deserved more, but for now, 3 stars is the maximum I can give. Good value for money, except for the desserts, of course. It's a shame, but there's great potential.
Situated in an enchanting location, this refuge offers delicious dishes as well as an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy lunch while admiring the surrounding landscape. A platter of mixed cured meats with cheese, buckwheat tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, and a delicious plate of polenta with porcini mushrooms were our choices, and I must say they were spot on. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating to customer requests. We will definitely be back. *** Returned after a year, this time in winter. Didn't find the same menu, and the attention to customer service was lacking. Lacking the basic ingredients for fresh pasta, we found the wrong recommendation for the type of gnocchi and the type of sauce. Too bad. The traditional appetizer didn't have any wow factor. Basic. Veal stew with porcini mushrooms and polenta: very few mushrooms, good polenta, and the veal with the sauce lacked "vibrancy," almost bland, in our personal taste. Disappointed.
I'm still shocked now... the owner, I presume, attacked me in front of everyone, telling me to get the hell out... that's the term... and not to go anymore because I had previously told her waitress who asked me if everything was okay that the 14 euro appetizer was very poor... the cold cuts were 4 very small slices 3 cm in diameter of transparent salami... 1 transparent slice of coppa and 1 of lard and 1 half broken that looked like... mortadella... same thing for two small transparent slices of cheese... even the first and second courses were not excellent, for example the fondue seemed like cream flavored with cheese... having said that, I will follow the owner's advice and not go anymore...
