Una esperienza molto positiva. Appena superata la porta di ingresso si prova una immediata sensazione di ordine e di bellezza, che nasce dalla cura che la proprietà ha riservato agli allestimenti interni, in particolare alle pareti a volta rifinite con mattoni a vista. Il menù , molto ricco e vario, offre piatti legati alla tradizione gastronomica locale e ligure. Simpatica l'idea di offrire un assaggio dell'olio di loro produzione, che nasce da una interessante esperienza di recupero di un uliveto locale da parte della proprietà. Un pranzo pieno di gusto e sapori ben equilibrati. Il personale si è dimostrato accogliente e cordiale. I prezzi sono in linea con la qualità offerta. Tornerò sicuramente.
Ottima esperienza in un ambiente dall’atmosfera particolarissima, curato in ogni dettaglio con un gusto che unisce più stili. Hanno ben accolto il nostro cagnolino, servizio veloce, personale cordiale, e piatti della tradizione Ligure.. incredibili: antipasto locale, tagliolini scampi al timo e frittura di pesce. Alessandro, il titolare, insieme alla famiglia e’ stato gentilissimo e preparatissimo nel consigliarci il vino da abbinare a ciò che avevamo scelto. Esperienza davvero meravigliosa. Siamo tornati dopo mesi durante un nuovo soggiorno in Liguria e... Confermato l'entusiasmo della precedente cena! Tutto perfetto... Location, qualità materie prime e proposta offerta, servizio puntuale ma discreto. Tradizione rispettata ma al passo dei tempi. Sosta dovuta a Portovenere, sia per il palato che per lo spirito! Tutto buonissimo, ma tenete sempre un posticino per la torta al limone!
L’ambiente è bellissimo, non so come definire il suo stile ma è molto intimo e particolare, tant’è che siamo entrati attirati in primis da quello. Il personale è gentile, disponibile e professionale. Il cibo è delizioso, abbiamo assaggiato due primi, un contorno e un secondo. Il prezzo è giusto per la qualità delle materie prime. Siamo stati molto bene, lo consiglio sicuramente!
Siamo venuti in questo ristorante invogliati da una pagina Instagram che ne parlava benissimo. Non possiamo che concordare in quanto abbiamo mangiato divinamente. Abbiamo mangiato i Gattafin di Levanto come antipasto, preparati con le erbe del loro orto: deliziosi. Si sentiva che per il fritto hanno utilizzato olio freschissimo in quanto non ha bagnato neppure la carta sotto. Come primo i tre testaroli con: olio e parmigiano, salsa di noci e pesto. Tutti e tre squisiti, ma quello al pesto ci è rimasto nel cuore. Per concludere abbiamo ordinato la terrina di muscoli alla marinara, preparata con i muscoli della coltura locale: divini. Infine il fritto misto cucinato con il pescato fresco del giorno è stato indimenticabile. Che dire, dovete assolutamente mangiare da loro

Prima volta e devo dire che è andata bene. I prezzi sono quelli che si trovano in Liguria, quindi non economici ma accettabili. Ambiente stupendo e cibo buono. Servizio cortese ed educato. Consiglio.
In tre giorni in Liguria questo è stato l'unico posto dove abbiamo pranzato e ci siamo alzati super soddisfatti. Abbiamo chiesto il bis del primo Consiglio : le Barbotte con pomodoro,olive e acciughe Gusto, semplicità e materie prime super equilibrate . Servizio veloce e preciso . Locale molto bello.
Un’esperienza culinaria indimenticabile nel cuore di Portovenere. Abbiamo cenato divinamente gustando i veri sapori della tradizione ligure: dagli antipasti di mare freschissimi ai primi piatti fatti in casa che sanno di tradizione. Nota di merito per la carta dei vini: abbiamo bevuto veramente bene, con etichette locali che hanno esaltato ogni portata. Personale accogliente e location suggestiva. Se cercate la qualità e il gusto autentico della Liguria, questo è il posto giusto. Torneremo sicuramente la prossima volta che saremo in vacanza in questa zona.
Su consiglio di una persona di fiducia che aveva già apprezzato il locale, ho prenotato presso l’Antica Osteria del Carugio e l’esperienza ha superato le aspettative. Ambiente molto curato e accogliente, cucina autentica di eccellente qualità, con piatti che valorizzano al meglio i sapori del territorio. Tutto è stato accompagnato da un servizio attento, rapido e altamente professionale. Un ristorante che consiglio senza esitazioni a chiunque visiti Portovenere: una tappa assolutamente da non perdere!!!
Ottimo locale! Abbiamo cenato con prodotti tipici davvero buoni e di qualità. La differenza l’ha fatta una ragazza di 16 anni che ci ha seguiti per tutta la serata: gentilissima, attenta e molto professionale nonostante la giovane età. Complimenti, torneremo sicuramente!

Me and my friend came here in tue busiest night in August during the Madonna bianca event. It was very busy everywhere. They offered us wine while waiting to apologise for the wait. Once on the table they offered us more wine. Service was perfect. Kind and efficient. Food was amazing. I will defo recommend

Had a great meal here so don't quite understand the middling rating. We stuck with local delicacies and weren't disappointed. Service was friendly and the atmosphere local, a mix of tourists and Italians. On our way home, glancing at the fussily plated options at the fancier options further down the street, we felt fully satisfied we'd made the right choice at Carugio!
Skip the tourist traps by the water - this is the real deal!! The pesto pasta was SUBLIME! Their scampi pasta AMAZING! and their steamed mussels, no words to describe 🤤🤤🤤 walk up the terrace and try for yourself!
I had a wonderful dinner last evening, and was joined by two friends, who agreed. The location, food, service and ambiance were excellent.
Really great and relaxing atmosphere for a romantic dinner with my wife. You can tell all ingredients are good quality and locally sourced. We had the olive oil and bread (sounds simple but is very good quality) and anchovies. Of the main dishes, our favorite was the testaroli. The waiters were very kind and even showed us a video of how this unique dish is made.
It was our second time in this amazing restaurant. The service and food were excellent. Very recommended (a bit pricy but fair enough).
A lovely restaurant nestled in the back streets of Porto Venere. Seating outside or inside, both were delightful with views of the walking traffic or cool jazz tunes played inside. The interior lulls you back to the times of yesteryears of the time of Byron and Shelley. Service was great, waiters knowledgeable and happy to offer advice on both food and wine. We started with the anchovy pasta and mussel pasta, both lovely and made with fresh seafood and fresh pasta. This was followed by the octopus salad and mussles which were both lovely. We ended with tiramisu which did not fail to satisfy. Lovely place for a meal in Porto Venere, prices were very fair for the food and service! Belissimo!

Ristorante tipico che offre prodotti tipici, ottimi gli antipasti ed il pesto fresco, ottimi i muscoli, sia gratinati che al tegame, molto buona la spigola ed il polipo con patate. Il servizio però non è stato impeccabile, ci hanno portato un antipasto in più non ordinato e hanno insistito che lo avevano richiesto e lo abbiamo tenuto. Di questo equivoco alla fine però non ne è stato tenuto conto al momento di pagare, hanno preteso il prezzo pieno senza togliere alcunché. Eravamo di passaggio e non so se torneremo ancora. Altro piccolo appunto riguarda la pulizia del bagno mentre ci sono ancora i clienti, non so cosa fosse successo ma a fine pranzo sono entrato in bagno e stavo per soffocare per l'enorme quantità di ammoniaca usata per lavare il pavimento.
Sul cibo niente da dire, preso Acciughe ripiene, cozze ripiene, ravioli fritti e tagliolini con le cozze: tutto buonissimo. L'ambiente è nuovo, rustico e molto accogliente ....peccato per il caldo nonostante i condizionatori accesi. Qualche piccola peccato nel servizio. Nel complesso comunque più che consigliato. Prezzo non economicissimo ...più si 40 a testa per due portate, vino e acqua.

Siamo stati a cena in 5. Ambiente tranquillo e ordinato, ha più sale interne. Lo ricordavo più rustico ma è rimasto bello e confortevole. Piatti buoni, non troppo abbondanti. Personale gentile e disponibile. Tagliolini coi muscoli, trofie al pesto e frittura mista, tutto buono ma non esaltante. Prezzi medio alti. Consiglio di provare se siete a Portovenere, eviterei ristoranti sul porto, troppo turistici, questo è più particolare.

This little restaurant offers a super charming atmosphere. You can tell from its style that it’s got a lot of character. The staff is very efficient and welcoming. The food is very testy: anchovies filets are a must try, the best I had ever had. As main I had octopus with potatoes and olives, very good!
A nice option for dinner in Porto Venere. I enjoyed the soft, chill, jazz atmosphere very particular right in the middle of the town. You ordered a bruschetta, some ravioli and a beans soup. I would say that the quality was higher than expected but the portion a bit small (except for the soup that was the right amount). The lemon cake was amazing! Good selection of local wines. Sono stata in questo locale per pranzo. La location è carina e ben curata. Il personale gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo preso un antipasto (pane e olio di loro produzione), 2 primi (trofie al pesto e tris di testaroli) e 1 secondo (polpo con patate). Tutto buonissimo! L'unica pecca è stata il conto: 71€ in due. Rapporto qualità prezzo non eccezionale: 2 caffè espressi a 2,50 l'uno e acqua da 1lt 3,50€ a bottiglia è un furto! Anche i dolci totalmente fuori prezzo: quello che costa meno viene 8€! Capisco che sono fatti in casa, ma costano quasi quanto un primo piatto. Al momento di pagare abbiamo chiesto di dividere il conto in due e abbiamo pagato 36€ a testa! Cio significa che ci hanno addebitato 1€ in più, approssimando la cifra per eccesso. Anche se si tratta solo di 1€, queste furbate ad hoc per i turisti non ci invogliano di certo a ritornare! Peccato.
Nel complesso, ottima esperienza, la mia migliore a Porto Venere, ma attenzione ai prezzi sul menù. Bellissimo locale curato all'interno, personale educato e molto attento. Avevo prenotato e ci hanno riservato un grande tavolo in posizione comoda. I Gattafin (antipasto) sono assolutamente da provare, in generale mi è piaciuto molto il riferimento ai piatti tipici locali che non ho trovato in altri ristoranti della zona. Buona la Mess-ciua (antica zuppa tipica). Nota di demerito, e per questo non attribuisco un punteggio pieno, nella discrepanza di prezzi tra il menu' all'esterno che avevo visto prima di entrare e il menu che poi mi è stato presentato al tavolo, e applicato al conto. Almeno per il Pandolce dell'Osteria, che mi ha attratto, €6,50 nel menù all'esterno, e € 7,50 in quello presentato al tavolo (vedi foto allegate a questa recensione). Simile differenza per i Gattafin €12 nel menù all'esterno, €13 nel menù all'interno (vedi foto allegate a questa recensione). Uno scivolone fastidioso per il cliente. Ho cenato in questo ristorante ad agosto 2025.
Passeggiando per Portovenere , scegliamo questa location molto ben curata ed particolare. La nota che fa perdere di qualità è il servizio, non in linea con il livello del locale. non un sorriso, non una parola di più, troppo freddo e distaccato! Il ragazzo che ha preso l’ordine è stato l’unico sorriso visto in tutta la nostra permanenza. All’uscita neanche un arrivederci. Per il resto si mangia bene e si spende il giusto. La presentazione dei piatti molto curata. Però…certe volte un piatto fatto bene non basta. Spero vivamente che possiate migliorare sul servizio, perché in ambienti così caratteristici è un gran peccato.

Portions were very small and for an unjustifiably high price (especially the potatoes; a handful of potatoes for 6.5 euros is highway robbery) Dont get me wrong, the food was very good tasting and traditional.
