After posting my previous review (a mix-up during a birthday party), I was personally contacted by the owner, who apologized and clarified what had happened. The conversation was greatly appreciated and allowed me to better understand the situation, as well as the great attention normally given to customers and the passion with which this restaurant is run. I believe it is right to correct what I wrote, because the incident I experienced does not reflect the philosophy or level of care the owner conveyed to me during our conversation. Mistakes can happen, especially in challenging times, but the way they are handled makes all the difference. The direct dialogue and the helpfulness shown restored my confidence and reminded me why, in the past, I had always considered this restaurant a reliable choice. Therefore, I felt it was right to update my review.
We found this place by chance…the reviews were great and it didn't disappoint! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. They have a fantastic wine list with wines from all over Italy! We would definitely go back!
Perfect in every way. Huge proportions.
A delightful location set in a renovated farmhouse with exposed stone and wrought iron elements, which, along with the wood, create a very welcoming atmosphere. We had lunch for seven to celebrate two birthdays, and the food was divine, from the cured meats to the risotto and tagliatelle pasta dishes, to the perfectly cooked meat main courses, and even the homemade cake with hazelnut and pistachio cream. All in all, a five-star experience. I highly recommend it.
A truly fantastic restaurant! Everything is prepared by hand. The pasta is, of course, homemade. I always love going there when I'm in Cremona. The steak tartare is incredibly delicious, the marubini in broth are divine, and so is everything else. The service is attentive and courteous. I'm already looking forward to being a guest there again in November. I've made a reservation.
A lovely small place, friendly and professional staff, a lot of variety in the menu and a very beautiful location! Highly recommended!
The interior is very charming and spacious, but reservations are recommended to ensure a seat. Even for dinner, you can choose from a range of reasonably priced set menus that include appetizers, two first courses, a second course, and dessert. A mixed cured meats appetizer: pancetta, coppa, prosciutto crudo, and salami, all accompanied by giardiniera (pickled vegetables). Two first courses: scamorza and porcini mushroom gnocchi (which I was pleasantly surprised by) and tagliatelle with roe deer and venison ragù. Second course: spare ribs and chips. Dessert: cantuccini biscuits and zabaglione. Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended!
If you're passing through Cremona, this restaurant should be on your to-do list. Aside from the location, which is worth the visit in itself, I had a wonderful meal. Standing ovation for the zabaglione. And attentive, knowledgeable service, with which to engage in conversation about both the place's history and the dishes.
Super lunch with good ambiance
One of the best food and wine experiences ever, from morning to evening. The lunch was impeccable, with impressive quality of ingredients and preparation. The menu had something for everyone. Excellent and attentive table service, despite the restaurant being spread across two floors and several different spaces. Congratulations to Mario and the entire staff! We'll be your guests again soon.
Location: 9/10 very nice, country chic style. There is also a nice terrace that is not available in the winter. Food: 10/10 outstanding quality and execution. Everything was delicious. Service: 9/10 friendly and customer focus. We asked for a change in the degustation menu and they accepted easily. Bill: 10/10 given the quality and the service it is absolutely honest.
For my aunt's 80th birthday, we found ourselves among cousins after years of not seeing each other!! My cousin booked here and it was a winning choice!! Beautiful location! The warm, well-renovated place, without excess, leaving the beauty of the rustic-style rooms visible. The courtesy of the numerous waiters and the friendliness of the owners, combined with their knowledge of the cooked food and wines, gave us a beautiful day to remember. Amazing antipasto cured meats, excellent first courses and top-quality meats cooked with care! (including splendid Canadian bison) birthday cake that melted under the palate!! Absolutely a place to mark in your notebook!
Bellissimo locale, curato nei dettagli. Accoglienza e professionalità all'arrivo,e noi siamo arrivati senza aver prenotato.
The food is excellent, with high-quality ingredients. I would have preferred slightly larger portions. The location is beautiful, but it's a shame our dining room was a bit cold. The staff is good, but they should be more knowledgeable about the dishes they offer.
Excellent experience! A well-kept restaurant, high-quality cuisine, and very professional service. The staff is extremely kind, always available and knowledgeable, and contributes to creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. We ordered two appetizers, three meat-based main courses, dessert, and wine: dishes well executed and with attention to detail. The appetizers were balanced in flavor, the meat was excellent and impeccably cooked, and the desserts were delicious and beautifully presented. The bill was around €60 per person, absolutely reasonable for the quality offered. The only small drawback was the limited parking, but overall, it's a restaurant definitely worth a visit and one I recommend without hesitation.
A remarkable restaurant, with top-quality products expertly combined. The restaurant is beautiful and rustic, housed in a late 18th-century courtyard. The wines are top-notch, even in 1.5-liter bottles, for large tables. The dishes, typical of traditional cuisine, are inviting. The pappardelle with venison ragù and the ravioli are delicious; the sliced beef steak was also good, although I wasn't thrilled. I returned about a year later to try the skewer and some appetizers. The cured meats were excellent, as were the cream puffs and the cod tart. The snails served in porcelain shells are very unusual. The skewer with polenta is truly excellent. I can confirm the excellent quality. The prices are indeed a bit high, but commensurate with the quality.
The location is beautiful and meticulously maintained (it resembles an old rustic farmhouse, a renovated farmhouse with exposed brick). It's very popular, and despite the late hour, they allowed us to dine. Excellent value, and the dishes are delicious. The wait time between courses is reasonable. The staff is kind, helpful, and friendly. A special mention goes to the owner: he's a very nice guy! I recommend it.
I'm sad to report that the service has become truly awful! The wait is incredibly long, and when dining as a couple, it's absurd to receive dishes at different times, even by 10 minutes! One person eats while the other watches! You've removed dishes that were once special and replaced them with lower-quality options! Adding dishes to the classic menu is fine, but removing the signature dishes is a mistake! It's no longer the restaurant it was years ago! The service and organization need to be overhauled! A real shame, given that the place is truly a gem! Also, during the summer, it's absurd to see a mop and bucket on the balcony! And the black garbage bag! A little care and class never hurts.
