Perfect ambience for an afternoon spritz. Great service, good wine selection, and the best lasagna I’ve ever had. Bellissimo!
Great place - warm welcome from the host. We had some lasagne, fried potatoes and a pinsa - all were very tasty and made fresh, with a chocolate and pear torta to finish. And washed down with a glass of Franciacorta rosé which was excellent. Really enjoyed our time here and will return.
This wasn’t my first visit to Al Buscion — I keep coming back! The first time, I was intrigued by their impressive cheese selection, especially one that cost €111 per kilo — I just had to try it. The variety of cheeses and high-end cured meats completely won me over. I always go for a simple house wine to wash down all these delicious treats — and it works perfectly every time!
A hidden GEM!! Warm and quaint! We were starving and “settled” for what we thought was a pub. What a delight!! The atmosphere cozy! Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS!!! It was so good we came for a second day and had the soup and salad!! The first night we had the special, Stinko, meat cooked in beer. We also ordered focaccia and a side salad. The focaccia is fresh baked!! Yum!! The salad was fresh tasted as though it came from the garden!! The mushroom soup very flavorful!!
The setting of hams and cheese were really unique and we loved it! It was such a great funny experience. We had a tapas (don't remember the name, but it was the last one on the menu) and a half meter specialty of hams and cheese. The prices, food, and service are good. One little down side of the restaurant is a narrow seats. Would not really recommend for a big group.
The owner was very welcoming and was able to provide a very good meal, starting with the mixed meats and cheese board (for2) which was excellent. Followed by homemade lasagne and tiramisu. Plus and e…

Fantastic little bar serving authentic Italian antipasti and snacks. So fresh tasting with a really local feel. Great selection of cheeses and meats to snack on as well as a great drinks selection.
Out of this world. Good price, good and fast service, top quality and the atmosphere can not be better than this. Everyone must try this.

This is a good restaurant, with a good variety of food, and drinks. I've ordered one soup, one portion of lasagna and a bottle of water. Everything was ok, nothing wow, but decent and made from good quality ingredients. I like the atmosphere inside, it's beautiful and lots of bottles of alcohol around, and also some big pieces of meat at the window. Good service as well.
"Tagliere" is good but quite expensive - the small one was 18 euro. Also the interpretation of pizza but not exactly (they told us) was good but in my opinion also a little bit pricey. The have great variety of wines by the glass so we made interesting degustation. We received good recommendations. The service overall was good, but became more polite after ordering and ordering more wine.
We waited for a soup 45 minutes and after another 20 minutes they told us they don’t have any more mozzarella cheese and can’t not prepare the second course. They could have at least told us when w…
We ventured into this charming establishment, lured by the sparkling ratings. Spoiler alert: those stars must have come from a different galaxy, because they certainly didn't align with our experience. The cheese plate, touted as their specialty, was a decent start. The cheeses were delightful, but the bread? Let's just say some pieces could double as construction material. Fresh? Maybe in a past life. Next up, the pinsas. We sampled two varieties: the ham and the vegetarian. The ham pinsa was generously topped and somewhat satisfying. The vegetarian, however, was a minimalist's dream (or nightmare). About ten small tomatoes and a few artichokes seemed to have been dropped from a great height. Check the photo for evidence. The dough, on the other hand, was like a salty lick from the Dead Sea. But the pièce de résistance was the wine. Ah, the wine. Imagine our surprise when, on a sweltering 33°C day, we were served room-temperature red. Not the cheapest on the list, mind you, but a no-go in every sense. I think our waiter missed the memo on "wine cellar" and thought "wine sauna" instead. In summary, this place didn't quite earn its four stars. Maybe two, and one of those for the sheer comedic value of our dining experience. Cheers!
My daughter and I had dinner here. The service was slow and grumpy. We were seated on stools at a barrel which could have been fine, but the proportions were awkward for eating. We waited 20 minute…
Food came in dribs & drabs - no apology or concern when we asked where the fries were. They eventually arrived after we had finished eating the rest of the meal. While the food was OK, we definitely won't be going back.
Disgraceful staff who should not be allowed to serve the public! Verbally abusive and racist to customers, something you do not expect to experience in 2026! Shame on you!

Poor service. Food ok when it eventually arrived. Not pleasant eating experience, which was a shame as we'd previously been for lunch which was a better experience.

Was disappointed received poor service ordered a side of chips that came when the meal was over. Salad was a few lettuce leaves and a chopped tomato. Chips with beefburger came late. Never asked how meal was. Limited menu. Wouldn’t go back. There are far better places to eat in Stresa.
We wanted to grab drinks and a couple of snacks. People were already exiting the place because apparently you cannot sit insight when you do not eat something too. The woman working there told us that we could take a seat, since we wanted to eat, but when we asked if we could move outside if space would become available, she very rudely told us that this wouldn’t be possible. Because of her attitude we decided to leave. It‘s totally fair to have specific rules in your establishment, but they can definitely be communicated in a friendly manner.
Dreadful. Rude owner. Miserable staff. Service poor. Went in last night for a drink and some bar snacks and when we ordered, we were given a different platter to other customers - and ours had the same cheeses on it. When we asked if we could have some different cheeses the staff became rude, aggressive and scowling. The owner took the platter away, snatching off our table, removed Ham and threw a piece of dog-end cheese that should’ve been thrown in the bin. Awful. Never ever again.
