Esperienza fantastica! Ho mangiato divinamente: ogni piatto era curato nei dettagli, con ingredienti freschissimi e sapori autentici. Il personale gentile e attento ha reso la serata ancora più piacevole. Assolutamente consigliato — non vedo l’ora di tornare!
Generous portions, great taco varieties, and quality ingredients. Especially get the queso! You'll definitely want the large. We also got the brisket taco, the vaquero, and Tijuana panther. Highly recommend them all! The margarita is also pretty good. Nothing special since it's a mix, but still a good addition to the meal.
I love this place! Whenever I visit my daughter, I pick my Airbnb between their house and walking to Homestate. I’m already dreaming about my next breakfast burritos there. So yummy. Great friendly service and fast too. I’ll be back soon for sure!
This location was very disappointing!!! I ordered 3 trinity tacos with extra bacon. When I got my tacos there was no bacon. I spoke to one of the supervisors and asked for a refund. He was very polite and gave me my refund. He offered to remake them I said no thank you that's ok and was leaving. He was so sad that I didn't get what I ordered and said don't leave I'll put your order in anyway on the house. I said that's ok but he insisted. I said ok but I'll pay for it. It's not necessary. Again he insisted. I said ok and waited for my order. Everything was ok up to this point. As I waited for my order another supervisor came out and said her manager said I have to pay for the tacos. I told her that I offered but the other supervisor said it was on the house. Then this supervisor said he is new and cannot authorize that transaction per my manager. I said that this is very poor customer service. One supervisor said it's on the house. The other supervisor said no and the manager said I have to pay. Too much confusion for 3 tacos. I said no thanks and left. I had the money to pay. I left because it was too messy and I didn't want any problems with my food after this unfortunate situation. I feel that when you promote someone to supervision and then contradict them in front of the customer and reverse their decision is not cool. I felt really bad for the the supervisor who was trying to help me. Again I had the money and was leaving until the supervisor insisted on making things right. I do not recommend this location at all!!! Stay clear.!!!!
We were in town for the weekend and decided to pop in. So glad we did. I love a simple and well executed menu. Breakfast tacos are non existent in the Bay Area. I appreciated the presumably handmade flour tortillas. The texture and flour (dust on hands) made them feel like mom made them. The fillings were tasty. The salsas were both flavorful. Loved the queso, so yummy. Great coffee. Simple.
We stopped by HomeState and had such a good experience. We tried a mix of breakfast tacos — 3 Neches, 1 Brisket, and 1 Frio — plus a Big Queso dip to share and their hibiscus lemonade. The tacos were fresh and flavorful, with the Neches (eggs + beans + cheddar) being simple but really satisfying, and the brisket one standing out as rich and smoky. The queso was creamy, loaded, and big enough for the table — definitely worth ordering. The hibiscus lemonade was refreshing and balanced, not overly sweet. The place itself is a little on the small side inside, but they have outdoor seating which made it really enjoyable to sit, eat, and relax. Overall: generous portions, great flavors, and friendly vibes. Perfect spot if you’re craving Texas-style breakfast tacos in LA.
Homestate was so delicious! We ordered the brisket quesadilla, and chicken tacos, as well as a side of their potato wedges. Everything was phenomenal! The quesadillas were crispy, cheesy, and the brisket was sooo tender! The chicken tacos were bursting with flavor, and were so juicy and delicious! The hibiscus limeade is also a must have! All the food was so fresh and yummy, we were blown away! If you’re looking for a cute lunch spot with laid back vibes, HomeState is the place for you!
HomeState is amazing! The tacos are out of this world, and the whole place has such a friendly, laid-back vibe. The staff is super nice, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. It’s the perfect spot to chill with friends and enjoy some seriously good food. I had a great breakfast tacos! Definitely a must-visit for taco lovers!
Pecos - brisket, eggs / 5 🌟! Guadalupe - chorizo, eggs, cheddar / 5 🌟! Trinity - bacon, eggs, potatoes, cheddar / 5 🌟! I went to HomeState after a big hike and it hit the spot! Every ingredient was fresh. The eggs are a standout, light and fluffy. So tasty. All three breakfast tacos were very tasty. I added the house made green and red salsas as well. Honestly a great breakfast taco spot (they have non breakfast tacos that I assume are as tasty).
Good
The food was delicious, although the portion size was a bit small for the price. They offer two types of sauces—spicy and mild—and both paired perfectly with the tacos. Even though the restaurant is compact, it's very well-organized. I liked that the water, cups, and utensils were neatly arranged in one area.Single restroom, but neat and well-maintained.
Overall amazing experience! The breakfast was killer and so fresh. I love the staff here. They’re always friendly. From a branding perspective, they do an awesome job of creating a unique experience and vibe I’ve enjoyed sitting outdoors and indoors, depending on time of day. Prices are fair. Especially because the tacos are bigger than average. If I’m not hangry, I could personally be good with one. I rated it a 4 instead of a five because when I came back tonight for dinner around 6:30, my taco was had started to cool into the shape of the foil it was wrapped in, and didn’t taste very fresh. Yet, I still had a good time because of the staff. I’ll give it another shot. I think this place can and will do better. And even kinda cold, it was better than the one I’d just tried down the street 😂
I grew up in Texas and there’s clearly no better breakfast taco than a Texan one. I usually get the trinity, classic. I usually order and pick up because I’m on the go and need fuel. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s pretty consistent. Not the most flavorful tacos, but their sauces make up for it. My only miss is that I always wish the cheddar cheese would be a little more melted. Biting into cold sharp cheddar cheese isn’t always the best but I truck through it, and it always does the job and keeps me satiated. And it obviously doesn’t stop me from coming back, lol. Service is always pleasant and it can get crowded so my rec is to order online if you’re in a rush.
Nice taste
A sto giro davvero delusa.
Great service and atmosphere, but ultimately this is just overpriced, gentrified Tex-Mex. The food is okay, but the portions are small and the value isn't there compared to the rest of LA. It feels like you're paying for the "vibe" rather than the meal. Good for a drink on the patio, but don't come here expecting to get full. Needs a burrito option.
Overpriced for tacos with absolutely no seasoning ($7+tax a pop? Sheesh) and for the size of tiny street tacos.... The meat quality itself is good, though. Also the "hot sauce" was just salsa, no spice whatsoever (even for my spice intolerant husband). If you bring your own hot sauce, might be a game changer.
The service was as tasteless as the food. I went on a Sunday at 10:50am, was NOT greeted by a stick n poke mustache los Feliz transplant man who clearly didn't want to be there. He Shrugged his shoulders to 2 questions I asked: "Do any of the tacos have bacon?" & "Is there any more seating available?". Unfriendly service in the morning, I could MAYBE look past (yes I still tipped). But to be given the most unseasoned brisket tacos I've ever tasted was where I drew the line. And when I asked for ketchup, the they/them server rolled their eyes and said "I'll bring it". I WAS JUST TRYING TO HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY MORNING BREAKFAST?! On a positive note, the crispy potatoes were good and the coffee was decent. Hope they're nicer to others in the future!
The only taco that actually hit was the Tijuana Panthers. It had flavor, it had texture, and the queso sauce brought everything together. Without that one, this would have felt like a complete waste of money. I ordered brisket, chicken, the Trinity, and a bunch of salsas. The brisket and chicken were both underwhelming. Nothing stood out. The breakfast taco tasted like it had been sitting out all day. By the time it got to me for dinner, the bacon felt dry and old. The only reason I got through the meal was because they were generous with the salsa and that queso taco pulled more than its weight. I paid close to forty dollars for this, and that was with a promo. Without it, the total would have been closer to fifty. These tacos are tiny. Maybe four or five bites each. When you think about spending eight or nine dollars per taco once delivery and fees are in, it just doesn’t make sense. I wouldn’t come back unless it was just to grab that one taco again. And I wouldn’t bring friends or recommend it to anyone unless they were already nearby and curious.
