Opinions de Ristorante San Marco Via Spalto S.marco
A trattoria with an authentic flavor of times gone by. The decor isn't particularly modern, but fortunately it has maintained its strong tradition intact. The tradition of good, indeed excellent, authentic food is served with passion and professionalism in a casual, welcoming atmosphere. Excellent value for money.
Amazing restaurant, I ate things I haven't seen in a modern restaurant in a long time. Everything was cooked to perfection and of high quality.
As other reviewers have pointed out, it looks anonymous from the outside, but as they say: never judge by appearances. Upon entering, you find yourself in a warm and welcoming environment. The staff is very kind and polite. The food was excellent from every perspective. I had the Valdostana and found it delicious. The amaretto peaches were also delicious (very similar to the way my beloved mother used to make them). The environment is clean and tidy, the restrooms are dated but clean and well-equipped. The prices are good (the menu is offered verbally, and given the wide selection of dishes, I'd prefer to see it written down...). We'll definitely be back, and I recommend booking because it's hard to find a table.
Locanda San Marco is a charming and welcoming spot in the heart of Brescia, offering a taste of traditional local cuisine with a delightful homemade touch. The menu features classic Lombard dishes, prepared with care and authenticity, making you feel like you're enjoying a meal at a friend's home. The atmosphere is warm and down-to-earth, with friendly service that adds to the overall comfort. A perfect place for anyone looking to experience genuine flavors in a relaxed, inviting setting.
A typical trattoria with very good cuisine. The Venetian-style liver is truly excellent. The atmosphere feels like home. It's been a trusted source for years. See you soon.
A place that focuses on substance over form! Very friendly staff, excellent and plentiful traditional food, fair prices. We finally tried the kidneys; we'd been looking for them for years. If we return to Brescia, we'll definitely try it again.
A unique style, seemingly unassuming at first glance, but inside, it reveals delightful and tasty surprises. Here, you shouldn't rush, but rather enjoy the time spent with your meal. The atmosphere is welcoming and simple, and the food is carefully crafted. I enjoy returning here from time to time. The dishes are traditional, with a few unique twists and twists.
Amazing Gulash and Polenta, the Casoncelli are also noteworthy
If you're looking for a place with the word "LOCATION" in mind, it's best not to go to Locanda San Marco, but rather to find a more upscale place. Far from the tourist trail, it's wonderful to find such a beautiful place where time seems to have stood still and the flavors of Brescia's culinary tradition remain intact. The horse tartare, kidney with polenta, and horse steak are excellent. A must-try!
Very good selection of local food.
It's pointless to judge an institution in the Brescia restaurant scene... Its history speaks for itself.
The atmosphere is dated, but it's a classic old-fashioned restaurant, deliberately as it once was, charming despite everything. The service is attentive and helpful. The dishes are excellent, tasty, and perfectly prepared. Traditional dishes, without frills and full of substance: special mention for the Valdostana, exceptional! Fair price.
A casual, no-frills place with a welcoming atmosphere and truly delicious food. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and service is quick—perfect for those who want to eat well without wasting too much time. The staff is friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a simple place with authentic flavors, you can't go wrong here!
I'm sorry, but I went for dinner last night and I can only say that maybe it wasn't my night... because I've always enjoyed the excellent onion soup, but I don't know why the second courses were sloppy: osso buco with a thin sauce and undercooked Venetian-style liver. Usually, the onions in the liver are golden, and the crispy liver last night was truly unappealing. The house wine really needs improving.
Nice local cuisine! Not speaking English!
The place is stuck in the '60s in every sense. The decor is dated, neglected in some places, and especially poorly lit. The service is courteous, but not precise, nor even that fast. The dishes are listed verbally from a machine, and when they bring us the menu upon request, we find more or less. The dishes are homemade, nothing exceptional, but that's a matter of personal taste. The bread isn't the freshest, and when my dish, tagliolini with slightly spicy vegetables, arrives, the flavor is a bit lacking, if not almost nonexistent. The dessert, crema catalana, is good, nothing to complain about. One small thing I can't understand is that they serve bottled water by removing the cap and taking it with you. With sparkling water, it's not exactly appropriate, but as I mentioned earlier, it's a small thing. I'm honest, considering it's average for local restaurants, even too much. I don't think I'll be back.
After a pleasant day spent wandering the streets of Brescia's city center, on the recommendation of a friend, I dined at the S. Marco restaurant. The Casoncelli with butter and sage were delicious, but there were only five on the plate—a paltry sum. I made up for it with the second course, a delicious Venetian-style veal liver with butter and sage, all accompanied by polenta. A decent selection of red wines! Finally, for dessert, the "zuppa inglese" (trifle). I didn't particularly enjoy it, and, as you can see from the photos, it looked very shabby on the plate. I don't think I'll be back.
