Opinions de Leon d'Oro Via Trabucchi
Sensational. This word perfectly sums up today's experience. We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance in a charming alleyway in the winding streets of Malesco. Despite not feeling very hungry, we left completely satisfied after a three-course meal. We received a warm welcome and were given a tour of the daily menu in English, followed by an inquiry about our wine preferences. The appetizer, first course, and dessert were truly exceptional! The portions were just right for our modest appetites. The wine and digestif offered were also excellent! Our visit to the restaurant was worth every penny and definitely a highlight of our vacation!
Welcoming restaurant in the historic center of Malesco, with an enchanting outdoor courtyard: intimate atmosphere and simple elegance. We started our lunch with a very fresh buffalo mozzarella and an aubergine tart on a tomato and salted ricotta base, really delicious. To follow, a pasta with courgettes, mint and tomato powder: fresh and fragrant. All accompanied by an excellent glass of bubbles. To finish, a chocolate tart with mint jelly, original and delicious. A completely vegetarian menu, perfect for those who, like me, do not like meat. Attentive and attentive service. Thanks to all the staff and the warm welcome of Cristina and Luciano. See you soon!
The Chef (she!) delivers with precision, harmony and great taste local traditional food in a creative but not too adventurous fashion. Seasonal ingredients are combined very effectively. A classic cuisine.
Cosy restaurant, friendly service. The food is great. Good price-quality.
An incredibly wonderful restaurant. If I could, I'd give it even more stars. We found the restaurant tucked away in one of the charming alleyways in Malesco. It has a lovely and cozy outdoor area as well as a small indoor seating area. The staff was incredibly attentive. Since the menu was only in Italian, they explained each dish to us and catered to our needs—truly very thoughtful. We had only intended a light snack, but the menu was too tempting. For our starter, we shared burrata with tomatoes, served with baguette. Then we had gnocchi made from purple potatoes, accompanied by a turmeric cream and crispy ham. My partner ordered ravioli with a vegetable filling and goat cheese cream. After such a sensational meal, we couldn't resist dessert. We indulged in a chocolate soufflé and a passion fruit panna cotta. Indescribable! A must-see when visiting Malesco. Thank you so much for the unforgettable stay. ☺️
Located in the center of Malesco, I found it thanks to The Fork. It's now my only go-to restaurant in the area. I can confirm all the positive reviews I've found online. A typical mountain restaurant with warm wood floors and ceilings, a beautiful stone courtyard, and a B&B. Most importantly, they make their own beer. The staff is truly fabulous and immediately make you feel pampered. They're very attentive and make sure everything is to your liking. The beer is very good, the wine selection is excellent, the food is quality, and the chef is very imaginative. You absolutely must try the Mojito panna cotta with rum jelly; it's worth the trip alone! It cost €24 per person, including everything. Fantastic.
We dined here every night of our stay in Malesco to try all the dishes. We were very satisfied! The flavors and pairings are complemented by a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Some traditional dishes are revisited with an original touch, allowing you to try something new even in a traditional setting. The selection of local wines and spirits is also excellent. 100% approved!
Excellent place. The attention, food, and atmosphere make for a wonderful evening with friends or family. The architecture and decor are all well thought out. I loved the dessert; the only thing I wasn't happy with was the cooking of certain meats or the risotto. But I still had a great time. I recommend it and really hope to return. The city is beautiful. It's the most beautiful thing I've encountered in Italy.
Nice food, nice waiters. I'll definitely come again!

Very good local food with some additional flavour. Friendly and nice venue.
I had dinner at Leon D'Oro in Malesco. I must say that the dishes I chose were of medium-high quality. The first course was fresh tagliatelle with wild boar tartare, which was very good. The second course was braised venison morsels with Prinet wine, which was truly excellent. I recommend you try it; it's a great value.
Good "historic" restaurant in the center of Malesco. Rustic but welcoming atmosphere, I ate an excellent stewed venison with polenta, good agnolotti with borage, and excellent stewed octopus which, in my humble opinion and as recommended to the owner, should be served on a bed of polenta. Decent desserts. The bill in my opinion is a bit excessive.
Welcoming place, poorly trained service staff. Because it was winter the place was cold not recommended winter. Very good cold cuts as well as cheeses Venison dish with polenta not special. Good shank with potatoes Very good tartar Very good pumpkin tomino cheese Good gorgonzola risotto
We returned to this restaurant after a long time, drawn by fond memories and the menu offerings. The food was overall good: well-presented dishes, quality ingredients, though without any particular highlights or truly memorable moments. The value for money was fair. What I'm sorry to highlight, and which negatively impacted our experience, was the staff's attitude. We dined with our children (ages 3-8) in the outdoor area, with three other tables occupied, and we sensed some annoyance from the waiters toward them, expressed through requests to pay attention to their service, and cold looks and manners that made the atmosphere more rigid and unwelcoming. It's a shame, because a little more empathy and human warmth could have made the evening decidedly more enjoyable. If you choose to go, consider going without children, as there isn't a special menu for them anyway. Tip: If you don't like them, as we perceived, it's best to clearly indicate this for everyone's benefit. IN RESPONSE TO YOURS: Thank you for your perspective. I hope you'll take mine as suggestions for how we can continually improve. I won't even address your comment about our children, with whom, by the way, we've been frequenting local restaurants for years without ever having any problems. It reiterates the obvious desire not to have them. Which is fair enough, as long as we're clear.
