A random weekday morning around 10am is when I went. You'd expect no crowd. But the queue here at this time, and on into lunch is a testament to offerings here. A simple, perfect hole in the wall that is dishing out wonderful food to regulars and those who happen along. Pair it with a coffee down the street for a place to sit and this is a perfect relaxing LA morning out
The OG goat! Definition of hole in the wall but far from a dive. Delicious and affordable burritos. Can’t beat this combo right here. Spicy salsa and a weekly raffle to win more burritos. Street parking and take out only but you can find plenty of spots down the block to sit and eat at. I tend to grab a burrito then a latte at Black Elephant to chill at their patio. The hood may be gentrifying but we keeping this place right where it is!
walk up and order place. no seating. Great burritos
If you look up "hole in the wall" you will find a picture of Tacos Villa Corona. If you blink you will drive by but don't blink and miss this amazing place. The food is delicious, the service is quick and with a smile and is there anything more fun than standing in-line with other people in the know, knowing you are getting one of the best burritos
Best place for homemade, fresh ingredients Mexican food. I'm so glad I found this place.
Had an excellent a remarkably cheap breakfast burrito!
I've been coming here for nearly 20 years. The burritos are a little smaller than they used to be, but it's better for my waistline and they still taste as great as ever!
These burritos are beyond delicious. I highly recommend when you need a quick and tasty breakfast in NELA. You can taste the quality in every ingredient. It can get incredibly busy during the weekends so I recommend going on a weekday. Always ask for extra red hot sauce, it’s spicy but immensely flavorful. Easily one of my favorite Mexican breakfast places.
Been eating here a long time. It has never disappointed me. Their prices are relatively great, so you’re also getting a great value. The papas burrito with steak is what I always get.
delicious food at an amazing price. this is THE go-to spot fr. i love the chorizo quesadilla and nachos. W staff, too. can never go wrong here
Ive been to this place quite a few times and its always been great. the food is very reasonably priced and the food comes out in a prompt time not super late. I do think the workers can be a little more upbeat and im saying that as humbly as i can without sounding like a Karen other than that the place has kick ass food. I highly recommend.
I’ve been going here for years and it’s got the most potato tasting (tastes like good potatoes!) papas burritos in Southern California! I’ve tried so many other potato burritos from other places (San Diego, San Bernardino plus a few spots in LA) and this place stays true to their flavor (which I love) 🥰. I can’t find any other place that does it their way! I always leave really satisfied with just one of their original burritos for myself (I usually buy and bring for other friends who can’t travel this far for a good burrito). They’ve also got some HEAT with their sauce! I love how hot it is!
Every time I visit LA, I make the effort to visit this hole in the wall joint. The burritos are fantastic, and the hot sauce is spicy. It can get quite busy, so expect a queue, though it’s worth it.
This is the proverbial window restaurant. Hole in the wall. I had breakfast burritos there (chorizo) and they were delicious! The sauces are spicy, so be careful how much you use.
Tacos Villa Corona serves outstanding breakfast burritos from a walk-up window in Atwater Village. The options are pretty straightforward - either papas, chilaquiles, or nopales, but all three are great, and can be customized with your choice of meats. We prefer the papas, because they’re cooked until they’re just about as soft as mashed potatoes. The burrito is rolled up with some egg and cheese, and your choice of meat - which should be chorizo - then is pressed until it’s nice and toasty on the outside. Ask for an extra side of their incredible (and extremely spicy) hot sauce.
Breakfast burrito with beef was delicious! Bacon one was good too. Despite how busy it was the turn around time was quick! Found my new staple breakfast burrito spot, quickly replaced great white hut!!
One of my favorite Mexican spots. Love the way they do nopales. You cant go wrong with any of the papas burritos. Kind people, amazing value, open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. Almost always stop by when im in the area
My friend and I recently dined at this place, and our tastes seemed to vary. My friend couldn't get enough of their burrito and quesadilla, finding them absolutely delicious. I, on the other hand, wasn't thrilled with my steak dish, but the chicken burrito I ordered was a real winner. One thing we both agreed on was the fantastic hot sauce/salsa they provided – it added a burst of flavor that we both loved.
Love the people that work here. They’re super friendly and serve food quickly. Great price for the quality. $6 papas burritos is something I look forward to each weekend after a hike 🙏🏼
Delicious under $10 reasonably-sized burritos?! I couldn’t believe it myself but it’s true people!!!
I love that they give you hot sauce without asking for it. It was fast and cheap meal.
Best breakfast burrito in Los Angeles. No one can change my mind. I'll wait in the super long line for that burrito. Everytime I get that burrito it's the highlight of my day. The staff are amazing, the food is great and the hot sauce is super hot🔥🔥🔥 but tasty. Can't beat the flavor and you can't beat the price. I'll say it again, it's literally the best breakfast burrito in Los Angeles.
Best Burrito in LA! I had the steak and bean burrito and it was the best burrito I've ever eaten. Also had a chorizo taco which was perfect. Just the right size and tasted amazing, so authentic...! I'll be back again to try the breakfast burrito which I hear is incredible too. My go to spot in LA when I'm in town!
This is the best tacos shop in LA. Great food for a great price. And the people who own and run this shop are as good as well come. Salt of the earth!!

This was our first time at Tacos Villa Corona and it was great. It is a small place and most get take away. That is what we did. The place inside is clean and just cute. I love the way they have art on the menu on their wall. It is family owned and a lot of the recipes are from the owners mom. She loved to cook. We had the best breakfast burrito. It is called Papa Steak and we also had the best chicken quesadilla. Their chips are great and we had rice on the side. We got it all to go and ate in the car and listened to music. We had a great time. This is a real gem that we had not heard of before and boy it does not disappoint. Beware the salsa, it is great, but what we had was way too hot for me. Their hours are odd, so call to make sure they are open. They run out of food. You will love this place. We do.
10/10 my fave breakfast burrito of all time and anyone who says differently doesn’t know what to order, with love

Really craved a breakfast burrito in the area. I didn't like the pictures on Yelp, but I decided to try it anyway. First, the area has very good vibes. The workers are very pleasant, and the service is efficient. I ordered the papas burrito with bacon. The soft tortilla made it easy to bite into the salty yet flavorful interior. The bacon is salty. The eggs were scrambled a little too hard, and the potatoes were tender and a tad dry. However, the salsa is a game changer. The salsa is so smoky with a just hint of heat. You must douse it with salsa to fully enjoy this affordable delight.
I got the steak papas breakfast burrito; it is smaller than the usual breakfast burrito but it's also ½ the price. Tasted like someone's abuela got up early just to make you breakfast. Perfect proportions of meat, eggs, beans, salsa etc... Definitely will be back!
Service personable... and atmosphere cool...but streety Cool. Food, very tasty but I found myself tasting and swallowing more than actual chewing and savouring. O-yeh that good 🤠
My first time here, the chilaquiles burrito was pretty good. The red salsa is hot!! I'll be back in try out the breakfast bacon burrito. Also only $5 for the burrito.
Mexican food stand that serves quick meals for very reasonable prices. Came here since Anthony Bourdain had eaten here, and we were on the way up to Six Flags and needed something filling before going to the park. The line was a bit disorganized but essentially you order at one side, and they’ll call your name at the other window when your order is ready. Credit cards are accepted but cash is easiest. Street parking. No seating or public restrooms available. We got the chorizo and potato breakfast burrito, a chicken taco, and asada nachos. They gave us red salsas which had a good smokiness. The breakfast burrito was especially filling and they put a generous amount of cheese on all three items.

Good easy on the onion. I love these burritos. Tortilla is perfecto texture; flavor on spot. But this morning, I got my usual eggs with chorizo and it had diced raw onion, a lot. They should have cooked it or sprinkled a but instead, it was like biting an onion. Go easy on the onion.

Okay I give this 3 stars because I've been coming here for 6 years and it's been amazing every time. The customer service is superb in the way only a small family biz can be. I would give it five stars but the last time I was there on 1/18 I got my usual papas burrito con carne and both my friend and I were violently ill for the rest of the day. FIRST TIME this ever happened. Also noticed the quality and ingredients were vastly different and not for the better.
The burritos are very good, if not on the smallish side - but they're priced right @ $5. There is no seating here - so you're either eating them at home, on the sidewalk, or on the hood of your car. They claim to be open until 2:00pm, but it's a lie - don't come after 1:00pm, chances are they'll be closed or out of food. If they kept the hours they claim, this would be a 4-star review.
I was not impressed by their asada quesadillas. Parking is a nightmare. Overall my asada quesadilla was disappointingly over toasted, dry and crumbly. The flour tortilla was very thin, dry and crumbly. There was very little cheese in the quesadilla. The asada was minimal too. It was also not flavorful and dry. Sad. I didn’t like it at all. I hate to say it but I can’t think of a single nice thing to say. Oh, but there was a wait? Yes! A wait! Not a quick wait either. The lady that took our order was nice. They have no area to sit. It’s just a store front. Meter parking. I’m not sure if the surrounding neighborhood has free parking or not.
I ate here twice in the last two weekends, the first time the food was really good and the second time the food was okay. I am not sure if they changed the ingredients for this weekend or someone else cooked. The first time two burritos and a Jamaica drink came out to $16.00, not bad. The second time, two burritos, Jamaica drink, and one taco came out to $20.00. The taco is a big rip off it is bit size, stick to burritos
Tacos are good but Really Tiny like kids tacos and also I ask for no spicy sauce and they put me the most spicy sauce... I not good to eat a taco with a good sauce , but meat is good 👌

Kind of racist cashier. After receiving my order (without bag btw), I asked for utensils. The person who handed me the order looked at me with a blank stare and so the cashier stepped and asked “WHAT?” I repeated several times “could I PLEASE get utensils?” Cashier, every single time, responded with “WHAT?” It almost felt like a joke. She then, after a moments pause, said “there is salsa inside” but very slowly so that I guess I could understand her. Mind you, I am not from a foreign country. I am Mexican American born here and speak English. I was honestly astounded. Felt totally discriminated. Food was average.
My friend suggested to come here for some breakfast burritos, he did warn me that they were small therefore I chose to grab the breakfast tacos. These tacos were really small, they look like the 50 cent special tacos from other spots. The potatoes were really good though so that helped but the steak wasn't so good.
I ordered a breakfast burrito with papa's & bacon, I even asked to confirm there was eggs in it, was told yes. This is what I got for close to $7, virtually NO eggs. Restaurants say they have to raise their prices due to the price of eggs - yet we, the customer don't get the eggs, even while paying more for them. VERY disappointing.
My boyfriend likes his but I think I got the saddest quesadilla lol 😂 hardly any cheese at all.it tasted good but I was expecting way more cheese for it to be considered a quesadilla

It’s literally the worst breakfast burrito I have had in LA.
I was under the impression I was ordering the actual Chilaquiles plate , my mistake I only glazed over the menu , I still decided to give it a shot. The chicken was very bland there was no spices or flavoring. The chips that was also included in the burrito was just plane chips just added to add some crunch, they did not have no salsa on the inside of the burritos as well. I was actually not pleased with this purchase maybe other items are worth it but Def not the Chilaquiles burrito they also included just a small container of salsa . Also the burrito was super small el pollo loco burritos for 5 dollars is considered a better option
Have tried TVC several fimes over the years... usually for lunch... I have eaten at many, many authentic Mexican restaurants, taco trucks, taco stands... SORRY, but Tacos Villa Corona answers my idea of Mexican food... IF I went to Alaska to try Mexican food made by Betty Crocker...
Ordered an asada burrito, when I got my order I was very surprised, I was not aware any establishment made burritos so small, the asada meat was not asada, it seemed as beef ground meat, it was eatable not tasty more tortilla than anything else, the cook was very rude. I’m Mexican and love Mexican food, this place does not have Mexican food. Awful place.
