The staff here works hard. Looks like that are understaffed. They are trying hard to make a good experience and providing great customer service. The food is good.

The reason why I put 2 for service is because people next to us said they waited 45 minutes just to get food and drinks. We came after them and we got out food in 15ish minutes. The people next to us did get a refund and the food was free. The employees were nice to them so that adds a star The atmosphere was good not the best but still good. The food was good, I got a grill cheese and it wasn't crispy I thought it would be crispy but it wasn't which was fine. (I didn't have a cheese pull ☹️) Other then that the place gets a 3

Food - I feel like i got the short end of the stick as I ordered the bottom but got the top drizzled with BBQ sauce. service- Seems like me ordering food was an inconvenience, which is why I don't feel like bothering to address to staff, atmosphere - downtown vista vibe is always good and it's sonic, classic drive in. Over all, food came out relatively quick for the amount. It seems like chicken products always seem pushed aside.

Haven't been to Sonic in years thought I'd try it out tonight. I ordered a #1 cheeseburger no onion with tots and a root beer. Burger came with onion and one bite had a hard griddle in it. Root beer was clear like the syrup was off needless to say can't drink it. Also ordered a chili cheese coney. It's looks pretty sad and the chili tasted burnt and old. I worked at Sonic when I was 14 in a small town in Kansas and I remember it tasting so much better then this. Disappointed :(

THIS PLACE SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!! First off the food tastes like garbage it tastes like a rubber and nut mixture. And on top of that the man taking my order decided to use the roller skates and roll the food out to my car. When he came out of the back area of the sonic I could already tell he was pretty shaky on the skates so I knew something was gonna go down. The man fell and spilled my drinks and meat rockets all over my interior I am absolutely pissed off and am ready for compensation as he has ruined the interior of my car. Even if I was starving I wouldn't step foot into this establishment and I advise you not to either!!

Coney dog was a joke, hardly any chili or cheese and the bun was soggy. Onion rings were over cooked and shake was hardly flavored. Just trash.

Unfortunately, our recent visit to the Sonic Drive-In in Vista, CA, was disappointing. The staff was slow to respond from the start, and our order was incorrect upon delivery. Additionally, the restroom keypad was locked, and staff initially refused to assist. Only after repeated requests did someone unlock the door from the inside, a simple task that required minimal effort but was met with resistance. When our food finally arrived, the portions (including the large fries and onion rings) appeared noticeably smaller than expected. Given the overall experience, we do not plan to return to this location.

waited 30 minutes for two drinks. i had to talk to three different guys as well which was odd. when i ordered the first guy sounded a bit high, i didn’t really care but it definitely caused some sort of issues later on. i waited about 10-15 minutes before clicking the button again as the tracker thing had disappeared so i couldn’t see the status of my order. i didn’t want to rush the employees but there were only two other cars around, so it couldn’t have been busy. after the second employee answered i was told it was only gonna be a few more minutes, which i was a bit skeptical about. after another 10 minutes i got curious as to what was going on so i peaked through the window to see one of my drinks just sitting around with no other drinks next to it. it looked melted too, so it had definitely been sitting there for a long time. the third time i pressed the button a nicer employee answered and when i had told him the situation he read out the completely wrong order. when i told him what our order was he acknowledged that it had been 30 minutes, so the order had definitely just been sitting on whatever screen they have in there. he was very apologetic and offered me a free ice cream, which was nice of him but i wasn’t really interested at that point i just wanted to get the drinks and go home. he was kind enough to make us new drinks and get us a larger size for free, but i was still a bit frustrated with the whole thing. just a really irritating experience for two drinks

*Edit to previous 5 star review* Sonic changed their online hours so you can't order online even within an hour of closing. I called and Ethan, the manager, took my order and said they'd have it ready within 5-10 minutes. I was happy the staff was willing to help since their online function was changed. However, when my husband got there, the manager Ethan had not helped prep our order as promised. They also informed my husband it was the last time they would assist us outside of drive thru hours. Very two-faced and mean staff. They must have changed since the last time we were here. *old review* They served my dog popcorn chicken because they are both customer AND pet friendly. LOVE THIS STAFF. And open late with no lapse in service.

Never been to this sonic. Will never go back. “Chicken tenders” were a joke. Overcooked shoe leather (sorry, don’t mean to insult leather). Mozzarella sticks had a chemical taste. Couldn’t eat. Total of 8 drinks and no drink holders available? Total order over $60 which was an investment to learn to never go back.
