Opinions de La Madeleine Waco
Today was cold and chilly and the fireplace was perfect! The food was delicious and the staff was nice. Kayleigh was very sweet. This was our second time here and we will be back.
Ashley displayed excellent customer service. She greeted me with a warm smile and explained the ordering process. The food came out quickly and tasted great. Atmosphere was nice and welcoming. I will recommend highly.
Very kind staff! Great vibes inside this is the only La madeleine where the vibes weren’t atrocious 🥹🥹🥹 absolute hidden gem in Waco Texas. Kaleigh is AMAZING and super # sweet as she helped us with our birthday reward!
Had a great lunch visit today, Miss Veronica was the one who took my order. I love how she took her time to carefully put it together. She was the sweetest ever. Definitely recommend this place the service and food is amazing. Thank you Veronica for your attention to detail and your hospitality towards me and my friend today!
Update: We came here again to meet and have lunch before daughter’s graduation. Every time we come here we see Billy, who busses the tables and brings things to people. He’s possibly the nicest man I’ve ever met. Always with a sweet disposition and a smile. So happy to have this restaurant in Waco. WONDERBAR!!! We love this place. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it before. We stopped by here and grab lunch while visiting our kids in college. I had this great spinach salad with vinaigrette dressing and grilled chicken. It was amazing! I’m going to post more pictures because we usually eat here twice every time we come to Waco. The place is always clean well lit and the staff is very friendly!
Food selections are fresh and delicious, and the variety of offerings can satisfy practically any palate. From traditional breakfasts and mimosas, to fancy pastries, to crepes and pasta dishes and French Dips and balsamic glazed salmon, all cooked freshly to taste, this place is a better choice for indoor dining than most in Waco. The atmosphere in winter is warm and cozier than in summer because the fireplace is fully on and inviting. Not thrilled about the acoustics when it is very busy, since there is little sound insulation. Manager Angela was accommodating and friendly.
MY granddaughter and I were out shopping and she suggested that we go to La Madeleine's to eat one of their sweet pastries. So we ventured inside this French Cafe located inside the Central Texas market place shopping Center to find that despite it being between meals at around 3:30pm or so that this quaint little French cafe was still quite busy. the dining room did have a few empty tables but not very many for the time of day the empty tables were neat and clean and prepared for the next customer. waitress staff was very busy attending to customers but we're not too busy to stop and greet us with a smile. my granddaughter and I waited in line to get up to the counter to place our order where my granddaughter ordered a chocolate croissant and for myself I ordered coconut cream cake. price was average service was good however the food on the other hand was outstanding, just simply amazing. both my granddaughter and I said on the patio eating what was literally the best coconut cream cake I've ever had the pleasure of placing in my mouth. The taste of our food was so much more than one could ever possibly even hope for. Dessert at La Madeleine's will most definitely leave you craving more. MY granddaughter and I, very much enjoyed our unexpected stop in at La Madeleine's and I can very honestly say that I will most definitely be making more stops here to enjoy all that this French Cafe has to offer. Won't you try it for yourself, and take your taste buds on a trip into Heaven, and leave you longing for more. I give this restaurant a 10+ hands down!
This is one of my favorite little brunch spots! The food is always good and fresh. The last couple of times I went they were short staffed, but still provided great service. It's clean and perfect for a cute date or light lunch. I would highly recommend if you just want something filling, but not heavy.
It is a joy to be greeted by Billy on every visit!! His sweet smile is a ray of sunshine.😁 Three of us arrived at 12 noon today for lunch. We had to wait a good while to be served as there was only 1 young lady behind the line working on the group ahead of us. This is, in my opinion, a consistent issue. Multiple people need to be working the line, especially during peak meal times. I am a regular customer and dine at least 3 times monthly.
The food was spectacular as always. The service however was not. There was literally one person handling the take out, the food service line and the register at 1 in the afternoon. I had to stand there for ten minutes in an empty line just to order a soup and sandwich. Then when I finished my meal I was going to take out cake slices to take home with me and AGAIN a ten minute wait as the server was busy at the main serving line. I ended up leaving without the cake as I simply ran out of time. It's a pity as I've been a LeMadeleine customer since the first one opened in Houston so many years ago. I wondered when I walked in why it was not full of customers mid-day and now I know why. If you don't have time to waste forget it at this location.
The dessert was delicious. I had the coconut cream cake and the sacher torte slice. The price for the pasta was a bit high considering the amount, not to mention it was just ok. I got the chicken cordon Bleu pasta. The bread that it comes with is super salty. I ended up having to scrape the salt off of it. You place your order at the register , you pay, they give you a number, and they'll come out and bring it to you.
I saw this place while in town for a wedding and thought it looked really good. It was definitely a great choice as the food was absolutely amazing, especially the muffins and danishes. All of it was excellent. The only thing I wish they would have had was a better crepe selection. I really enjoy some savory crepes, but they only had two options. Other than that, it was a very good experience. The hardest part was deciding what to get!
Nice different place in Waco for a change. Located in Central Texas market place. Stopped by just for dessert and it was worth it. Definitely give this place a try, recommend this place if you are into trying different foods. Update 01/22/2019 Ok, so I went back. Took my family here for dinner and I have to say that we have found our new favorite place to have decent healthy dinner. Really nice and warm atmosphere. My kids love it here, the fireplace is a big deal to them. Very clean, friendly, and helpful staff. Good food with reasonable price. Highly, highly recommend this place. Update:01/24/2019 Brought my friend for lunch and we absolutely love it. The place was packed but not overwhelming. The staff was more than helpful in helping me find a table, carry my food to the table while me and my toddler where waiting for the rest of the party. Good service and great food. Update: 03/15/2019 Went in for brunch with my family and my husband said "this place never disappoints, the serve good food " This place has the best customer service and great tasty food. We ordered different than usual today but we were still satisfied with the quality of food. Update:01/12/2020 We are currently here and the service is very slow. We ordered food for us and and our 2 kiddos but the food for our youngest was the last plate on the table after we asked two people about it. While we are eating my older daughter notices that something is missing from her order and again had to ask about the fruit so we had to wait again for. Normally this place is better than this, and we were here before noon, they were not too busy as there were not too many customers when we arrived and ordered our food. Disappointed!
First time here, the person at the front counter was talking to someone but we made direct eye contact multiple times and he said nothing. The woman behind him helped me greatly! the French toast was fluffy and tasted great. Eggs undercooked, bacon undercooked and sitting in grease on my plate. The potato galette would probably taste great if it was fresh, I did arrive at 315pm, but it just tasted old and like grease. The croissant was amazing! Mimosa was fine. I will come again earlier in the morning. All the desserts look gorgeous! Breakfast all day!
Very slow service. Food arrived cold—sent portion back and was done with meal when the rest was brought back out. Lovely man clearing tables—would go back to see his smile!
The staff were great and the restaurant was very clean. Walking in is very confusing as to what the process here is. You grab a menu find a seat then order at a lubys style cafeteria counter set up. The creme brule was gritty and custard was seperated. This dessert SHOULD NOT BE BROWN. The food however was a huge disappointment. Broccoli cheese soup was mush and worst than a can of canned broccoli cheese. Bland, thick, and taste like it was fresh out of the microwave. I sandwiches looked stale and soggy somehow. I would not recommend this place for a second or even third look.
Ordered a pick up order for the new prime rib and provolone sandwich, with a side Caesar salad. When I got home, the sandwich was not toasted at all. There was a hint of color on one small section, like it was briefly placed on a heat source, but no actual toasting like the picture shows. This means that when I got home there was just soggy bread. The salad also came with the smallest amount of dressing I have ever received from a restaurant, enough for only about 1/3 of the small side salad. My wife got the chicken salad, but the chicken was just large slices, not shredded like she has gotten from the same location in the past. So she had to shred it herself to make it into an actual chicken salad. Overall very disappointing Togo order, and we will hesitate to pick up from this location again.
We have been going to La Madeleine for YEARS!! The service in the restaurant is usually really good (possibly even great depending on when you go). Their ToGo...is more often than not a failure! We ordered a Chicken La Madeleine (and other dishes) and when we got it home there was no chicken! How in the world did someone forget the CHICKEN in the chicken la Madeleine!? We have had several issues with this dish to be fair (there is no sauce, no mashed potatoes). But they have always managed to get the chicken in there. But not this time.... To give credit where credit is due, we were able to call and talk to a manager; and she offered to credit us back for the dish ( in the past they would offer to send gift cards, or hold a store credit for the next time we were there). That was great. The other dishes that we got in this order, they were good, not great. But how can a restaurant ask for customers to pay these high prices (for two meals and two sweets it came out to $41). But, then still not have it together enough for a dish that has your namesake, be as advertised!? We love La Madeleine, we love that we have one here in Waco, but the fact is, is La Madeleine can and should do better.
Disappointed is an understatement! The broccoli cheese soup tasted like a can of condensed soup and was just as thick. The "broccoli" in it was green mush. The sandwich (bacon bon bon) was ok. We had the WORST creme brulee we have ever had. The custard was flavored (caramel) and it was gritty... imagine pudding with sand in it. The mango unsweetened tea was AMAZING though
