This is our third Thanksgiving at Fogo de Chao Brazillain Steakhouse in Penn Quarter - it is the best!!! Food, location, atmosphere, and service all are amazing. This year we talked about our "strategy" for eating days before, each of us having a different attack plan which include our favorites. My son and husband were ready for the picanha, bottom sirloin, bacon wrapped chicken, lamb, and rib eye. To avoid flavor fatigue, my daughter and I were honed in on the delicious sides delivered to the table - cheese bread, carmelized bananas, and polenta. Additionally, I really love their salad bar options including candied bacon, confit garlic, smoked salmon, pineapple, and papaya. We did not save room for dessert... so we did take out instead and enjoyed their Tres Leches cake which was indulgent but not overly sweet. A highlight of this establishment is their staff. They are quick to stop your green coaster and right there with hot cuts of juicy choices. Everyone is extremely friendly and service on point. Shout out to Musashi who went above and beyond to make our Thanksgiving lunch wonderful.
This was the best restaurant I visited during my trip to the United States. Since it was my first time there and I wasn't familiar with everything, a staff member named Jason came over and explained everything to me, and continuously checked on how the food was, allowing me to enjoy my meal comfortably. The meat and the salad bar items were all delicious, and the bread and grilled bananas served as appetizers were especially tasty. The service was particularly impressive; despite the large number of customers, they took great care of me, making me feel truly valued. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service were all perfect, and I definitely want to come back again! 🤍
Rodriguez was very attentive along with the rest if thecstaff making sure we had everything we needed to have the best experience.. dessert at end was incredible and unique.. we will definitely be back to try more if your delicious food and awesome service and atmosphere.. Fogo de Chão is a true gastronomic spectacle. This is not just a place to come and eat, it is a place to savor. From the moment you walk in, everything feels like a show, from the service to the presentation and, of course, the food itself. The quality is outstanding, the meats are perfectly prepared, and everything is absolutely spotless. You can feel the excellence in every detail. It is a wonderful experience, refined, welcoming, and unforgettable. I was personally recommended by the Orlando manager, Cesar, who told me to look for Gilson, Adrian e Oscar here in Washington, D.C. That recommendation could not have been more accurate. The team here delivers excellence at the highest level. Fogo de Chão is truly to be congratulated. An exceptional dining experience and, without a doubt, five stars.
Aria was absolutely amazing. She was courteous, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. Our evening was perfect and we had a great time!! Her service really made our night enjoyable.
One of the best kept secrets of Fogo de Chao is that you don't have to order extravagant meats, for lunch you can get an all-you-can eat buffet of salads and sides for a very reasonable price (like $20) which is actually great for vegetarians or vegans. The Market Table option is a full meal in itself - you can choose from fresh salad, charcuterie/cheese, roasted, steamed, and sauted vegetables, chicken salad, a few different legumes, soup and rice plus toppings, hummus, fresh "exotic" fruit (papaya, banana, pineapple), GF yucca cheese bread or European bread, and mashed potatoes and fried polenta strips. The cheese bread here, I will say, is exceptionally good, better than other FdC!!! The other secret is that for celiacs like me, or people eating gluten free, this is a very easy and stress-free place to eat - maybe 1-2 of the dishes out of 50 or so contain gluten (but tell your server you're celiac to make sure - staff seems versed on GF concerns). The Market Table is not a la carte (you can choose a la carte options, of course) or haute cuisine - but for a business trip lunch it's a solid, healthy lunch option with a lot of choice; for a work event it offers plenty of options for a wide variety of dietary restrictions. I first tried the Market Table in San Antonio for lunch during a conference; today my friend treated me to Market Table in DC for my Bday primarily because the other, local, non-chain restaurants just had a lot more question marks in terms of safety for celiacs (which we both happen to be) - it was an inspired choice, we felt very safe with the food, all reliably good, there was a lot of choice, we were stuffed by the end (had to ration what we put on our plates), and we were offered (because my birthday) a complementary GF creme de brulee which was big enough for 3 people and very attractively presented with a lot of fresh fruit. The DC space is quite large, multi-level & set up more to handle larger groups; but they were able to handle a party of 2 very easily and comfortably (we had a window table to the side which was great because we were away from the noise). Service was friendly and pleasant, we didn't feel at all rushed even though we blew through the typical lunch hour and stayed for all of two hours chatting. Mostly I very much appreciate the options this restaurant offers to diners who are strictly GF, like me, or, despite its focus on meat, to vegetarians/vegans. It's really soul-sucking to have to grill the restaurant on their GF protocol every time, I've mostly stopped eating out because of it. But I think FdC gets it, yes, you still have to ask but for the most part their menu is pretty GF already so it makes it that much easier.
First WOW expression was the detailed in decor when we first walked in. Impressive!! The vibes and atmosphere is top notch and always very attentive. Staff ensure that we have all that we need; whether it’s high class specialty drinks and meat, juice, tender and cooked to perfection. Overall, we are pleased with the attention and service. 10/10! This was my first time dining at Fogo de Chão, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience! Every cut of meat was delicious, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. My partner and I were so well taken care of by our servers, Musashi and Nancy. Musashi was incredibly attentive and professional — even with the busy Friday night crowd, he made sure we had everything we needed. We also had two floor managers check in on us throughout the evening, which really highlighted how genuinely attentive and customer-focused the entire team is. My favorite cut of the night was definitely the filet mignon, and the crème brûlée made for the perfect way to end our dinner. Overall, an outstanding dining experience — I’ll absolutely be back again!
This place is honestly the best! The service the food the cleanliness the atmosphere all top tier. I came here for my gfs birthday dinner and omg was I not disappointed. The food was delicious and the waiters and waitresses were so nice and so attentive. If you are near you must go. Shout out to the staff that sent a complimentary dessert
What a great date night! We got there around 9:30pm and everything was fresh, clean and the service was 5 ⭐️’s !! Jose our server was so attentive and was continuously checking on us never had to ask for a refill on our drinks or a clean plate. The staff was so friendly. Thanks for a great Friday night!! 🥩
I had an amazing experience at Fogo de Chão thanks to Esron! His service was outstanding — professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. He made sure everything at our table was perfect and checked in just the right amount without being intrusive. It’s rare to find someone who truly enjoys what they do, and it definitely showed through his great attitude and hospitality. Esron made our dining experience extra special — definitely deserves recognition!
Tried Fogo de Chão for the first time although I’ve lived in DC for five years and I think I found my new favorite restaurant to treat myself to. José and Amadeo were both amazing bartenders & served me the most delicious Italian Moscato D’Asti by Umberto Fiore and wagyu New York strip. I definitely will come back to Fogo!! <3
Rodrigo, Kyle, and Esrom were attentive and had great personalities making our experience fun! Drinks - pineapple old fashion, espresso martini, and Brazilian lemonade were just as good as the food! Should’ve taken more pictures

We had an outstanding experience today celebrating my dad’s birthday at Fogo de Chão! From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service truly made our celebration special. A very special thank you to Nancy, Rodrigo, and Gilson for going above and beyond to make this such a memorable experience for my family. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care meant so much to us. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate. Highly recommend!
Today we celebrated my dad’s 88th birthday at Fogo de Chão, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious, and everything was perfectly organized for such a special occasion.A very special thank you to Nancy, our server, who was absolutely outstanding. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and professional throughout the entire evening. Nancy went above and beyond to make sure my dad felt celebrated and that our whole family was comfortable and well taken care of. Her attention to detail and genuine warmth made the night even more memorable. Thank you for helping us create such a beautiful celebration. We will definitely be back!
Sandra was awesome! She took great care of us, and had great recommendations for drinks and desserts. This was mine and my partners first time here, and although a little pricey, it was totally worth it for the experience. Sandra made this experience even better. We will definitely be back.
Well...I visited my favorite spot again Public. It is amazing new location. Situated in a VIBRANT Navy Yard area, with lots of options. We arrived close to closing on Sunday, August 17th to celebrate my birthday. I didn't realize that 9pm is closing time on Sundays- I apologize for not checking! The young lady at the door, was maybe TIRED. She told us that because it was 8:21, we could NOT be seated for dinner. She told us that the nearly empty dining room was for reservation only and the ONLY option was to sit at the bar. The only place for 2 people--- was a tight little piece of bar BEHIND a pole/partition (photo attached). We sat for a little while and was told by a very friendly young man that the WHOLE empty section behind us was ALSO considered "bar" area. So we moved to a table in that area, which is the angle that I snapped a photo...but was THEN told, we could only order BAR food and to hurry before closing! OKAY!!! WOW. Finally...we had the MANAGER come out to us. Thank God! I told him the story, which I share here...and he said ' she said you couldn't have dining---now I am telling YOU CAN have the full experience!! I was like ookkkaayyy -- lol! And escorted us to the DINING area, which was NOT full. Thank you for your kindness! What a night! The manager was VERY accommodating! Overly-- but I forgot his name...Josh maybe? Tall gentleman with dark hair-- deserves a RAISE! He made it right! We ate. Food was good. Service was GREAT...as always. Each city, I like to visit Fogo when in New Orleans. SanDeigo, Atlanta/Peachtree Corners....always great service! I was 'almost' disappointed-- but the manager made it right and I enjoyed my birthday dinner. Visit the Navy Yard location when in DC, you will be well cared for, catered to and full when you leave to walk the beautiful board walk! If not, ask for Josh and Enjoy!
We dined at this restaurant as a group of 7 people, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing, especially considering the price level. Each adult paid over $90, and we were clearly told that kids would be charged half price. However, this was not honored in a fair way. While six adults paid over $90, the child was placed into a $75 price tier, and then dessert and lobster were charged separately. As a result, the total cost for the child ended up being almost the same as an adult, which completely defeats the purpose of a “half-price” kids policy. This felt misleading and not transparent. Service was another major issue. At a Brazilian BBQ restaurant, servers are expected to come frequently with different cuts of meat. Instead, long periods passed with no service at all, and we had to repeatedly ask for food. When we finally did complain, many servers suddenly came at the same time, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, almost like retaliation rather than good service. For a restaurant charging premium prices, we expected clear pricing policies, consistent service, and a respectful dining experience. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet those expectations. Totally ruined our Christmas Eve family dinner.
