Went for the drag brunch for a bachelorette party and our crew had the best time!! Between food, drinks, and entertainment the staff knew how to keep their customers satisfied! Highly recommended if you are looking for a fun-filled brunch in DC!

We went for our first drag brunch to celebrate my girlfriend birthday. They started behind schedule, but we had a blast once everything started. The food was but barely warm. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was so welcoming. I can't wait to do it again.

This place is electric! I'm from Louisville, KY and this is one of the best entertaining places I've been to. They make a special effort to make you feel at home and to greet everyone! They'll make you wanna give all your money away lol.

YOOOOOOOO!!!! If you haven't been to Nellie's in a while... or maybe you have been and didn't know... there is a new GM in the house, and he is AMAZING! I cannot lie nor hide. I previously had an issue with Nellie's that many have had, but after the conversation with the new GM: Cedric Hall, I am more than confident Nellie's Sports Bar is heading in a new direction! Someone who understands the business, our people, and the presence of Nellie's in the DC nightlife, Cedric is here to make an environment we all have known as "home" for us, for years, comfortable again! From Kamal, the door security, to every single bartender (shout to the newest bartender Josce), today's experience has given me much faith and excitement about the future of Nellie's! And, I will he coming back regular, as I once did before. If you haven't been in a while... even if you just came yestetday... come again! Tell Cedric I sent you!

I had the pleasure of meeting Brian, the manager at Nellie's, and I just have to say he went above and beyond to make my experience a positive one. I was having a really tough time and feeling frustrated, but Brian immediately met with me and took the time to listen to my concerns. He genuinely cared about finding a solution and, with his kindest smile, he fixed the issue right away. His professionalism, patience, and warm demeanor truly turned my day around. It’s rare to encounter such exceptional customer service, and I’m so grateful for Brian’s help. Highly recommend Nellie's, and especially Brian, for anyone in need of excellent service!

Nellie's is a go to spot and I always feel welcome here no matter who I'm with. Shout-out to Christian on the first level bar for always taking care of me. Second floor usually has a smoking area with space for dancing.

First time here and the vibes are amazing!!!!!! Christian has helped out me and my girls the whole time here! Amazing service! Very outgoing and fun! We will ask for Christian when we come back!

Tuesday night Karaoke is a great time for sure! Drink prices back up they're amount with strong taste giving off n amazing buzz from 1 drink! Definitely worth what you pay! Almost everyone that grabs the mic can Sing including the DJ! It's exposures you must come out and see for yourself! Great food as well!

Fridays with Xavier Entertainment at Nellie’s is a must stop! The vibes are great, the crowd is friendly and the food is on point. Make sure you put this on your list to stop by.

I just want to shout out Christian at Nellie’s — hands down one of the best bartenders in the city. Every time I come in, he brings great energy, remembers names and drink preferences, and keeps the vibe friendly and fun. Even when the bar is packed, Christian keeps things moving with professionalism and a smile. It’s rare to find someone who can manage a busy crowd while still making every guest feel welcome. Whether you’re a regular or just stopping by, Christian makes you feel like part of the Nellie’s family. Definitely one of the reasons I keep coming back!

If you don’t mind chaos during peak hours then Nellie’s is the spot. Good food and always enjoy their upstairs.

Probably one of the better gay bars in the city in my opinion as a traveler. Bartenders are on point and friendly. The vibes are great, multiple levels. Food was tasty. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back.

This place is FANTASTIC!!! My friends and I had such an amazing time, I cannot wait to come back! The queens were incredible!! The inside is a little on the ghetto side, but the buffet was surprisingly good. The drag show is absolutely worth seeing.

Christian Jr is the finest Best Bar Tender There. Honestly polite and will get you right ;) lol. Seriously he is an amazing guy always serving with top tier service and handle food and drinks and with care. Amazing guy and stand outsish will definitely miss him if no longer return

The bartender, Christian J, is super nice! I don’t drink, and my mocktail was cheaper than at the other U street club I’ve gone to. The bouncers are cool too.

Nellies sunday is a great vibe from Drag Brunch with Sapphire, Deja and the whole staff to Xaviers (always welcoming spirit) Turn Up Dance party couldn't ask for a better Sunday Funday.... not to mention bartenders know what they doing behind the bars.

Went to Nellie’s for the first time for brunch and they did not disappoint. First, my friends and I were treated with the best hospitality from the time we entered until we left. Secondly, hats off to the chef, the food was absolutely positively amazing and the Nellie’s Margarita so good. The entertainment was electrifying fun and engaging. I do recommend going there.

February 16, 2020 attended an event here! Great to see all the wonderful girls that love the game of softball, 2021 ASANA will be great!

Nellies is always a good time but they r always forcefully putting some of the girls out. The happy hour drinks r strong and the music is good. We got the wings and fries which of the three flavors(Buffalo bbq n plain) we got it was tasty. There was a long line inside to get to the upstairs patio. We decided to just stay downstairs since it wasn’t a birthday or a special occasion. They have something every nite sunday is drag brunch which is great entertainment(bingo game and performances) and good food.

This is a great local bar with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Food is ok if in a pinch, but not really a place I would eat regularly

Went to Nellie’s for their Saturday drag brunch. The positives- the show was amazing the performers had a lot of energy and variety. The decor/sports bar theme was on point. The food at the buffet was good but much of it was cold. And the waitstaff kept only going to the table with the most people and didn’t assist any of the other tables with their drinks. After raising my hand up and saying excuse me 5 times and watching the waitstaff just go to the same table all 5 times I just got up and went to the bar (we were told not to but what was I supposed to do). The vibes are immaculate but the food and service need some work- an easy fix im sure they can accomplish. Would go again.

Slightly improved burners are needed to keep food hot. The food was cool not hot but was good.

I’m giving one extra star for the fun that we had here on Saturday night. The crowd here is great. The people that actually work here though are incompetent, inconsistent, and plain rude to patrons. On Saturday, I came here with my partner. She had a photo of her ID (which was stolen on Friday, FYI), front AND back, which scanned no problem. The next night, a different bouncer turned us away and laughed in my girlfriend’s face when she asked to talk to who let us in the night before (who we could clearly, visibly see in the bar room). We asked if we could speak to a manager so that my partner could at least sit down inside – it was 25 and windy – with the other bouncer so that I could go grab the car and she started just yelling at us to leave. Like, okay, did this suddenly become a liability over night? We have videos of us dancing in your bar. Your bartenders gave us free drinks. You people do not communicate with each other or enforce your own rules. I’m genuinely surprised no one has gotten roofied here considering your bouncers play Candy Crush on their phone half the night and your bartenders are checking their nails as they’re pouring drinks (they also didn’t cut off some clearrrlyyyyy VIPs, FWIW). I guess they let you in on Saturdays to take your money, and not on a Sunday when it’s less lucrative for them and more of a risk. She did let in some pretty aggressive guys that were also screaming profanities at us (we weren’t in line at that point, so they weren’t mad at us holding up the line or anything). So is the safety of patrons a priority or not? Very confused. Good drinks though.

We ordered 3 strawberry slushies. We were given 3 passion fruit slushies. Cost was $77. Cost included a mandatory 18% tip even though there were not notifications posted at the time. They readily refunded the extra tip we added.

I'm really upset with myself for staying at the drag brunch. My ears have been ringing for almost a week and I wore my sports earbuds but it wasn't enough. The other people at my table were shoving napkins into their ears. The performance was phenomenal but it doesn't even matter. I'm really afraid that my hearing has been damaged.

Went to Nellie’s on Saturday with my lady for some food and drinks. I ordered two drinks and two food items and left a tab open. Went back to close the tab, bartender told me that it was closed. (I should have known better cuz i never received a receipt). However i kept an eye on the final posting on my CC and noticed i was overcharged for what i should have paid. I do not recommend leaving an open tab. And when you do go to close out don’t forget to leave with a receipt. It was my first and last time there!!! I’ll support other local LGBTQ establishments.

NO DO NOT DRAG BRUNCH HERE. The"buffet" was out of food before they served the whole room and they let people go back for seconds before they served the room. And, the service and performance are equally unprepared and bad. Absolutely avoid this place. Back of house has no clue on how to prepare for a group this size and the service staff doesn't actually care. Total rip off.

So I’m here visiting and i only drink rep tequila and the bartender gave me and my friends cocktail and two drinks was $75?🤔🤔 and then wanted a tip? Huh?? Def my last buying drinks there. I’m from Houston n it threw me for a loop. That’s crazy

I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar a few nights ago at Nellie’s Sports Bar. My friend and I arrived at about 1am expecting a good time, but we were immediately met with unnecessary hostility from a masculine-presenting female security guard with dreads at the front door. Before even scanning my ID, she claimed it wasn’t me in the photo — which made no sense. The only thing that’s changed is my hairstyle: I used to have a high top fade, and now I have waves. My face, my ID, and all my information matched. She didn’t care. Instead, she told me I could still come in if I paid her $50. When I said that was absolutely ridiculous, especially since I had just gotten into two other clubs earlier that night with the same ID and no issue, she told me she didn’t care — and then raised the price to $60. That is not how a reputable establishment should operate. It felt like an intentional scam, and I’m sure I wasn’t the first or only person this has happened to. For the record, I was completely sober — not drunk or under the influence of anything. I was calm, respectful, and trying to deescalate, but she continued to be aggressive and dismissive. I understand some people exaggerate in reviews to make themselves look better, but that’s not the case here. This is exactly how it happened, and it was unacceptable. Nellie’s needs to seriously reevaluate who they allow to represent their business. That one interaction completely changed how I view this place. I won’t be returning — and I’ll be letting others know to be careful when dealing with certain staff at the door.
