Brunch is always good here. Lots of food selections and bottomless mimosas. They serve Lavazza coffee and the staff is nice and friendly!! Valet parking is a bit pricy at $20 and a reservation is recommended.
First time. The service and food were excellent. The bartender was the greatest.because we chose to sit in the bar area we didn't have to wait long. Highly recommend
Wanted to see the views but it was raining, young lady tending the bar today was great. She gave me great food choices, I was pleased!!!!
Their brunch is to die for! But their dinner menu is great also. The decor is so elegant and relaxing. Parking is impossible so Uber there.
Great veggie burger, tastes like the #BeyondBurger patty. Tender, flavorful & juicy! 😋
Love this place!! Never a bad meal. Great service.
Great brunch spot for Sunday brunch buddies. Bottomless mimosas/bloody’s AND all you can eat buffet!! Great staff especially Tiffany who keeps the bubblies flowing for the whole place. She’s a great asset to the restaurant with a friendly and unforgettable personality. Definitely will come back to see her next time in DC.
Love this place! The food is amazing! Service is unmatched compared to other Brunch settings! If you want great food, unlimited mimosas and a place to enjoy good friends. Definitely do Brunch here!
Beacon Bar & Grill has quickly become my go-to spot for an unforgettable brunch experience in the city. The brunch here is simply AMAZING, with an extensive buffet that truly has everything you could crave. From mini waffles and crispy bacon to fresh salads and a mouthwatering ravioli dish, every bite is a treat. One of the highlights of their Sunday brunch is the unlimited mimosas—when they say unlimited, they mean it! Their refill game is strong, keeping the good vibes flowing throughout your meal. Even if you’re not drinking, the food alone is worth the visit, though I was surprised to find out that the $59 price tag includes tax and gratuity, regardless of whether you indulge in the mimosas. The ambiance at Beacon is warm and inviting, with plenty of windows and open space that make it perfect for larger groups or celebrations. It's an ideal spot for birthdays or just to be seen, thanks to its prime location on the first floor of the Beacon Hotel. The buffet offers a solid variety, including fruit stations, dessert stations, plantains, grits, eggs, and more, ensuring there’s something for everyone. While I enjoyed my time here, I think a DJ could really elevate the brunch to a full-blown day party vibe—they certainly have the space for it! All in all, Beacon Bar & Grill is a fantastic choice for a lively and delicious brunch in the heart of the city. Whether you're sipping on mimosas or enjoying their savory dishes, you're in for a great time. After an energizing brunch, I love to wind down with some quality weed from Pullupdeliveries. Their Super Lemon Haze strain is my go-to for a relaxing afternoon, perfect for unwinding after a festive brunch.
I LOVE their brunch buffet with endless mimosas! The buffet has over 50 food options that are always changing and are very high quality. There is always a large crowd of great looking people to be around. The place is always clean and the staff is always happy to please. One of my favorite brunch places!
This place was super popular for brunch. The hostess staff is on top of it. The wait staff is okay and could be better. The brunch itself is excellent. So many choices and the food was good. There is a lot to choose from, it's almost overwhelming. The fruit and salad bar was really fresh. The chicken was good as well as the waffles. I liked that there was the choice of an omelet over scrambled eggs. The bathrooms have tvs in them and are fairly clean for such a busy place. There are elevators in case you are carrying two plates as I was!
The Sunday buffet and brunch were amazing. I loved the food options in the center area of the restaurant from vegan, the seafood in a healthy range to just plain ole' delectable (reminding me of some homemade items from childhood) ... our server we was attentive in ways that surprised me ...the place was packed, our party had 20 people or more and she refilled my coffee twice and then brought a thermos and filled my cup a third time ..... without my requests anytime. The price was a bit high .. I assume that is part of the bottomless alcoholic drinks ... for those of us who do not join in the flowing booze it would be great if the price were adjusted a bit. For an occasional and exceptionally nice brunch this was great!
Had the cherry glazed salmon with fried rice and grilled asparagus. The food was amazing and our server was very courteous. We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled and the fresh bread was incredible. A little on the pricey side but worth it in my opinion.
I stayed at the Beacon Hotel and dined in their restaurant twice. The first time was for happy hour where I was thoroughly unimpressed. My first two drinks were free as a result of receiving complimentary drink coupons as a perk from the hotel, but I was still thoroughly, thoroughly unimpressed. I had a champagne specialty cocktail that was disgusting and the bartender was hard to track down. He either wasn't behind the bar or was playing on his cell phone( I've included a photo). We had the wings and quesadillas, Neither of which were good. They drink specials were decent though and it was nice to get three dollar beer and lemon drop shots, and the specialty mule cocktail was pretty good but didn’t make up for the poor service and nasty food. After that experience I had a bad taste in my mouth but the Sunday brunch managed to make up for that horrible visit. I booked an 11:00 reservation on Open Table and was seated immediately when I arrived. The buffet was beautiful and bountiful. Everything was delicious. I was so happy with the wide array of options from classic breakfast foods to salads and desserts to lunch items and Caribbean flavor dishes. The options were endless. I particularly enjoyed the omelette station even though the chef there gave me someone else’s omelette and told me I was mistaken when I informed him of this. The other person came to claim their omelette, so thankfully he realized that I knew I was talking about. He also gave another woman a hard time saying she didn’t ask for a certain item in her omelette when I was standing there and heard her ask for it. Our server Tom was fantastic! He brought our Mamosa’s immediately and refilled them frequently, remembering to check on us and clear our empty plates as well. We both loved the decor and atmosphere of the dining room as well. This is a great place for an amazing Sunday brunch or to celebrate a special occasion or treat friends from out of town. I highly recommend the brunch but wouldn’t do the happy hour again.
This place is very likable. You don't want to marry it but it's fun to flirt with it every once in a while. This was the first non-buffet style brunch I have been to here. The price was decent enough at 36 bucks per person. That did include unlimited mimosas and a three course meal. Do not order the bread baskets! It's not the carb heaven you think it is. See photo. So moving past the appetizers boring you death with their oats and salads, let's move on to the real deal Holyfield. That mother effin chicken waffles is way too good! I mean blast my taste buds in too space because nothing else on Earth may ever compare. The shrimp looked good but I did not order it because it only gives two tacos. I mean who only eats two tacos, it's at least three minimum. The desert was meh. The ambience was clean but felt very humid and a little too warm.
always enjoy brunch at the beacon hotel.....the food is amazing and always a variety of fresh delicious foods and dessert ...🤗😁 ...
Ordered crab cakes, fries and hazelnut chocolate torte. All were very good. Service was excellent.
Super fascinating! Definitely were able to get a table for a large group! Fairly modest meal, but all in all worth it! Nice staff!
Great Sunday brunch buffet. Options were plentiful, and diverse in cuisine type (dim sum! southern! Bistro American!). Food was generally hot and appetizing. Servers were abundant and always there to refill your mimosa or poinsettia. For right over $35 not a terrible brunch by any stretch, in a city full of them. I'd recommend going with a group to get maximum enjoyment
Massive brunch buffet with tons of options. I wish there were more vegetarian choices if you are a vegetarian it would be hard to justify the price point with the limited selection. Bottomless drink options as well. Friendly service. It is expensive, so I wouldn't call this an 'every weekend' brunch option, but a fun choice for a group or family gathering.
When one of the best rooftop bars in DC has a 3.5 star rating on Yelp, you assume the worst. "The food must be so bad." "Maybe the service is just the worst." These are the thoughts running through my head as my team walked to Beacon for a business lunch on a Monday. After a two hour lunch meeting at Beacon, I left surprisingly impressed. Here's why: 1) The food: For being a 3.5 star rated restaurant on Yelp, I really enjoyed my meal. Warm, fresh bread kept flowing to our table to tie us over before our meal came. I ate a few pieces of bread only and I am so glad I didn't fill up on it because my fried chicken burger was amazing! It came with a sizeable, tasty side salad and the burger itself was amazing. It was a perfectly tender, white breaded chicken breast with cole slaw, bacon, and a spice mayo on it. Wow. 2) The service: Our server was friendly and attentive. 3) Atmosphere: We were seated in the sun room offering perfect lighting to our meeting and meal. I may not come here every weekend, but Beacon is an excellent option for a business lunch!
Hotel bar, but they have good happy hour specials and $5 martinis all the time. Nice patio area when the weather is warm. Decent food specials as well during happy hour. Their brunch is ok too, all you can eat (buffet) and unlimited mimosas or champagne. Gets pretty busy though so a reservation is helpful!
It was a quick stay at this hotel and we didn't want to go out, way to tired. I had a bacon cheese burger, my daughter had a quesadilla, and my wife had the special pasta. All dishes were pretty good. The Calamari was crispy and not over cooked. My burger was good and they added enough bacon that I can actually taste the bacon, but I did ask for medium and it was slightly well, I was too hungry too reorder another burger. My wife pasta was just ok, it needed something. But for a quick bite to eat this place worked.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The server was very attentive and professional. The main dish tasted great. I had the chicken picata. It was flavorful and moist. I didn't care for the side rice or the shrimp spring roll starter.
Excellent happy hour food quality and prices. Service was slow, and it wasn't busy when we arrived or during our stay. It's convenient to Embassy Row area hotels and seemed to have a nice variety of food.
In my opinion Beacon has one of the best brunch buffets in DC with bottomless mimosas. The food is great. The atmosphere can be a bit loud but its bearable. The staff is pretty good. Just make sure when you make reservations, your entire party is present or else they won't seat you. And on Sunday's a reservation is a must! It can get pretty crowded.
Nice place and I love the atmosphere. A very nice place to celebrate a special occasion with a group. The food is good. The only disappointing thing is they lack a good selection of vegetables. Great salad bar but, would prefer some more options like brussel sprouts, green beans and greens. Overall a great place.
Good stuff, strong mimosas. My issues are the omelet station, didn't have egg whites and the only meat they had was bacon. They used to have shrimp, Ham and turkey. He was also not very friendly. Greek salad with no dressing, and terrible beef "stew". I think our servers name was John, he was nice. The best thing they had was the waffles! It's not as great as it used to be.
The Ethiopian waitress lady was very nice. Caesar salad was bad. Portions are super tiny. Chicken was great, though literally 200 grams. Dessert brought to me was not fresh and was sent back to the kitchen. Overall I would not spend $$ here.
Rooftop is good but the prices are higher compared to other in the neighbourhood....
The woman bartender is great on the first floor during happy hour. The rooftop is nice. You can't bring drinks from the downstairs bar to the rooftop bar. The middle aged male manager with a strong accent was extremely rude when we unknowingly did bring up drinks from the bottom level bar. The rooftop used to be a landmark Sunday funday attraction but it isn't anymore, unless there's a special party.
Went to Beacon Sky Bar for happy hour thinking it ends at 7 PM but actually the rooftop happy hour ends at 6:30 PM and the restaurant downstairs ends their happy hour at 7 PM. We headed downstairs since our waiter was nice enough to let us know there are more choices down there anyway. Rum punch and lemon drop were good. Quesadilla was surprisingly flavorful and popcorn shrimp was good. Prices were very good $3-$7 per item. Just be aware that the menu/timings for the rooftop Sky Bar is different than the Beacon Bar & Grill downstairs. There was a live DJ on the rooftop lounge so wish we could have stayed up there for happy hour. Only getting a 3 for the misleading timings, otherwise service, drinks and food get a 4.
Can’t go wrong with the brunch. Taking off a star because we waited a considerable amount of time even with reservations. The food isn’t anything fancy but you get a good selection. Also had unlimited mimosas and both visits the waiters were slowwwwwww with the drinks.
Place almost empty and sad. Average food overprized. Not recommended.
I would not recommend going here for a group event. I made reservations well in advance for an event I was hosting. The hostess who I called said I was all set with a reservation for happy hour (with a table and everything, which I thought was fantastic), and a table for dinner following. It took me 2 hours door to door to get there from Alexandria, so I was not there to greet my group. When I made the reservation, I was told the happy hour occurred on their roof. So, I told my group to go there. Turns out, that is NOT where the happy hour is. I was later told that they don't even take reservations for happy hour, so I was even more irked as I continued with the reservation in reliance on this fact. I was also told that there was $5-$10 parking available through the hotel, turns out it was full and I had to pay nearly double at a nearby lot. I was NOT told that either. I told the manager of the issue and she shrugged it off. Didn't offer to buy a round or even a single drink for the table. Dinner was mediocre at best. The atmosphere and friendly waiter we had gave the place two stars instead of one. I would strongly suggest checking out other places before reserving here since their staff and their knowledge are inconsistent and incorrect.
Usually I love coming to the Beacon after work. Tonight the service was atrocious. It took us ages to get our drinks. The wrong food was brought to our table, and they insisted we had. When we requested our check, it took over 20 minutes. It took another 20 for it to be collected, and again for us to get it back to sign. The only time the waiter was attentive was while he hovered for our signatures.
Let's see where should we start. Upon arrival, we walked into the manager yelling at a staff right at the front desk. Before we were seated the manager would not sit us until our full party was present. We had informed the manager who was VERY rude and unpleasant that the last member was parking and yet we still had to wait for the 7th person which was ridiculous. When we sat down, i sat down to lipstick on 2 of the water glasses that were at the table, very disgusting !!. Our party, along with other customers informed staff that it was very hot in the room we were in and if they could kindly turn the AC on or up, they proceeded to bring a fan out..smh which blew up and circulated dust around our food. The food itself was pretty good along with the unlimited mimosas. Our waitress was hard to find at times to the point that we started pouring our own drinks. This was my 1st time experiencing this place and brunch and it will definitely be my last.
Food was overpriced and overcooked. Place was empty and there were cobwebs on our booth.... pretty off-putting. Mimi, the server was attentive, very friendly and tried her best to make our experience the best it could be. Will not eat here again. That said, best dry chicken wings I've had in quite some time(get the sauce on the side) Do not get the ribs....
Happy hour prices are decent, but they are overshadowed by slow service. There aren’t usually many people in the place on a weekday either, so it shouldn’t take upwards of 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. The menu itself is fine. It doesn’t really know where to be, though. Is it a fine dining menu? A mostly apps place? What’s it doing with just one salad?
Pros: - Good vibes/atmosphere - Food is good but pricey. Good portions. Just got wings and fries which totalled $26 🙃 Cons: - Not sure if we came on a bad night or if this is a regular thing but we had to walk to the bar to get any type of service. Anytime we needed anything including napkins we had to walk to the bar. We also had to fill up our own water cup. We made dinner reservations but it was completely pointless because they didn't even check. I got the vibe that they didnt get my reservation?
On Sunday March 1st,while making a plate from the buffet, a Roach crawled down the table. I alerted the manager and all he offered was 25% off of our meal. The food was good and the bottomless mimosas were great...but then there was mice that ran across the floor. I will be calling the health department today. For $60/person, the cleanliness should be a whole lot better!
Well what a disappointment. Had to wait for ten minutes before anyone came to the entrance (where I’d been directed to wait by a server) and then the not inexpensive American breakfast involved the world’s smallest sausages, over cooked fried potatoes and dry toast. I should have left the hotel and found a good quality diner where I sure I would have had a far better start to my day.
My scrambled eggs were extremely runny and look undercooked.
This was one of the worst brunches that I have had in my life! Not only is it overpriced for what you're receiving the setup of the place is horrible! The food was overcooked unseasoned the only thing that was remotely decent was the mini waffles which that's cooked on the machine how can you f*** that up! The tables where they have the mimosas and the beverages to bring them to serve me was a little dirty looking! They charge $44 plus service and tax which would be no problem if I was receiving $44 worth of incredible food! I would never recommend this place, they need to step their game up! They also attempt to add charges and things to your bill so Be watchful false advertisement on the website, because it states 40 bucks for the meal and 15 for valet parking but when you get there everything is an additional $5. Along with the percentage of tax and service that they add is more than it should be in Washington DC. I just suggest you go elsewhere
Short stay in DC, staying at the Beacon Hotel. You could do better by buying frozen. I can't believe anyone would actually eat at this place after trying two of the items I ordered. First, unfriendly service . I asked for something off the lunch menu during dinner, a salmon salad (a salad, which they sell during dinner, with Salmon, which they also serve during dinner) and they wouldn't make it, even though they make the salad and the salmon during dinner, they just wouldn't put it together. As per another reviewer here, you get the feeling it's more of a local watering hole, and not much of a food joint. I wound up ordering the Pulled Chicken Sliders, which were nothing more than the Jack Daniels pulled chicken that you get at Costco. The buns were okay....The homemade 'chips' that it came with weren't even cooked. most of them were inedible. I went to the Sky Bar, and had some 'homemade' guacamole, which was ridiculously bad. It was like a store bought avocado dip, with minor chunks of avocado added, with some added lime juice. It was dripping juice. I always finish guacamole, but I couldn't even eat half of this. Save yourself from ordering food here. This place could also use an overhaul of the management. There is no apparent desire to appease the customer.
Went to the Sky Bar for a birthday and I've never been to a place that was so unacommadating. At first we were told there would be a cake cutting fee, which we agreed to. After most of the guests arrived we got the cake and brought it upstairs where the manager approached us and told us "no outside food" and refused to let us take the cake to the table. I asked him if they sold/served cake and was told only appetizers on the roof deck. Having worked in the service industry for a few years I completely understand the no outside food/drinks policy but have never seen this applied to a birthday cake. Completely ridiculous and never coming here again.
First off, the waitress was super rude the entire time. I hate that there’s an 18% gratuity automatically added to your meal because if it was up to me, she wouldn’t have gotten a tip at all. Food was subpar. Then I get my bill and I see that I was charged $8 for a coke and a refill, not to mention that the “refill” was consisted of her casually slamming down an unopened can of coke on my table. Avoid this place like the plague.
Food decent and where we were seated was extremely hot. It was another party sitting behind us fanning the entire time alo g with us. Asked for the manager which took him about 20 minutes to come and when asked about AC. All he could say was that he doesn't feel the heat at all because he runs 6-7 miles a day and heat doesn't bother him. And he walked off like it wasn't nothing. Never coming here again.
Definitely do NOT eat at this hotel. Restaurant was almost abandoned looking, only one other person there at the bar when we walked in around 12:30pm for Sunday brunch (which goes to 2pm). There are 2 sections of dining room we could choose from to sit down, one was damp with dehumidifiers running and the other had literal cobwebs throughout. Even on the ground level in every corner. Service was good and wait staff was friendly, but pancakes were disgusting. Coffee wasn’t good. Total cost for 3 people was $118 for us. Overpriced, which we expect for DC, but not if the food and coffee is bad. Not if the place is dingy and gross. Won't be back to restaurant!
My mom and I stayed at the Beacon Hotel and went to the restaurant for dinner. Except for another couple, the place was empty playing 80s very loudly. The burger was okay, fries were cold. The restaurant needs some serious remodel, wallpaper peeling, rugs dirty- front reception desk not staffed. The server was nice - she was the only redeeming quality. We won’t be back.
