We hosted our staff retreat dinner here and everyone pretty much loved everything they gave us to eat and to drink, including the mocktails. The pita bread is probably the best i have ever tried. It comes out warm, soft and very tasty. The hummus is also good and the desserts were also really great. The space is a bit small but we had a group of about 30 people and we did okay. The drinks were nicely presented & tasted great! I would certainly return & recommend for anyone who enjoys Mediterranean food. The ambiance is also really cute, especially the bar with the hanging plants

Went to Agora DC Mediterranean Restaurant on a date night with my wife over a year ago and somehow forgot to leave a review—better late than never. The vibes absolutely delivered. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and perfect for a fun night out. The food was great across the board, full of flavor and well presented, and the service was solid and attentive throughout the evening. One thing to note: it does get pretty loud, especially during the dinner rush, so if you’re looking for a quiet, intimate evening, you may want to go earlier or avoid peak hours. Reservations are highly recommended because this place fills up fast. Bonus points for having a full halal menu, which is always appreciated. Definitely worth checking out for a lively date night in DC.

Amazing food, great and attentive service, with a lively atmosphere! Stick to the Mediterranean fare when you can if you do the all-you-can-eat brunch, to avoid filling up on unnecessary carbs, but everything was delicious! Our server, Vedat, was all smiles and made sure we were always topped up on food and drinks despite the enormous brunch rush. 5/5 would recommend!

Very delicious Turkish food and a great atmosphere! I had the Adana and Lahmacun—both were truly top-notch. My wife ordered the octopus and shrimp, which were also outstanding. A big thank-you to Ferdi for his warm hospitality; he was incredibly kind to us throughout our visit. We even hoped to take some olive oil back home to Michigan, but they didn’t have any extra on hand. Hopefully we can pick some up next time!

Love these small plate experiences as you can order a lot and taste more. We had five and sampled dips, the always available warm pita, salad, fish, bass, chicken kabob, lamb, and wonderfully textured desserts with lovely flavors. Great ambience, too. Must go in this cute neighborhood of DC.

We absolutely LOVED our time at Agora. We got there late and were thankful they still seated us. The drinks and food was fabulous. We loved everything. The patio is so nice, and the service was fantastic. Everything came out quick. We loved the bold flavors of everything. The dishes were small to medium and priced accordingly so you can get many shareable dishes between the table. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

It was the first warm day in the city so it was busy busy. My friends got a reservation which was definitely needed on a Saturday night. We sat in the outside area which was nice because they also had fans on to keep it cool. We got an array of shared mezze plates (see photos). Everything came out quickly and it was delicious. The grape leaves were my favorite. Definitely recommend for anyone who is a fan of Mediterranean food!

Awesome place! I’ve lived in DC for a few years and love coming back to Agora. The dips, mains and desserts are always well made and the portions are amazing. My friends and I got the table side flamed cheese and it was a showstopper. Don’t skip the desserts!

It’s my first time here in DC and I think I’ve made the right choice to visit this restaurant. Every dishes are really good and flavorful. The service is also exceptional. The price is very reasonable for the quality and I think I’ll go back to try other dishes for sure if I have to go to DC again.

Delicious brunch at Agora! The authentic Mediterranean starters were flavorful, the Eggs Benedict perfectly done, and the lamb shoulder tender and rich. The warm ambience and refreshing mimosas made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend Agora. The cocktail and wine selections are fantastic, offering a wide variety of options to complement the meal. For dinner, we tried an array of dishes, including the Taramosalata, Sucuklu Pide, Ottoman Rice, fried cauliflower, grilled prawns, Kofte, and the Anadolu Manti. Each plate was delicious, showcasing bold flavors and expert preparation. I highly recommend the Anadolu Manti — these dumplings were amazing. The small plate style is perfect for sharing, and I’d recommend ordering about three dishes per person to fully explore the menu. The Pistachio Soufflé for dessert was perfect—light, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered thoughtful recommendations that truly elevated our experience. To top it all off, the decor and ambiance created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a memorable evening out. **I will say, this restaurant automatically adds a 3% surcharge to all checks. This does not take the place of gratuity, and is explained as a way for the restaurant to keep up with increasing expenses, etc.. While the check notes that you can request the removal of this surcharge, I really don’t like this and wish they would simply raise the cost of each menu item. The cost listed on the menu should be the cost of the meal, rather than a 3% higher surprise once you’ve completed your meal.**

Visited Agora during restaurant week and I can’t believe that I’ve never been here before! It was delicious and the service was amazing. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the spread sampler, grilled prawns, branzino, and the baklava as dessert! The ambience was nice as well! A great option for a date night with the low lights. I hope to be back soon to sit out on the patio once it warms up!

First of all, why this restaurant only have 4.6 stars!!!! Should have 5 stars!!!!! I went on a night friends dinner with my wife. We ordered a 16 dishes total. And woooooow!!!! They worth all the price. Every coming plate was much much better than the other one. I was so happy to found this place. The service 10/10 Please guys never close 😅🤩

High quality and authentic Turkish dishes. We especially liked the pistachio soufflé. I approve as a Turk. 👍

Some of the very best food we have had in DC! The sampler appetizer plate was wonderful, along with the zucchini and kibbeh. The shrimp was fabulous. The only unimaginative dish was the fish, but still tasty. The rose ice cream with kanafeh was also wonderful. Three stars for atmosphere because inside it was insanely loud; we sat outside but the heaters went off just as it got colder.

First of all, I'd like to congratulate the entire staff. Everyone does their job incredibly well, I just have to say that. I came to D.C. for vacation, and I've been to this place twice. Everything I ate and drank was delicious, especially the lamb shoulder. I have very positive thoughts about the service. Our waiter, Michaelson (I hope I spelt that correctly), took excellent care of us the first day and answered every question. He seems to have just started the menu, but he was still very knowledgeable. I had a few glasses of beer, and I didn't like one of the different brands, but I finished it anyway. When the waiter asked me if I liked it, I have been honest, and he removed the beer I didn't like from the menu. I hadn't expected that, and I had finished my beer, yet he was very kind. On the second day, Yekta took care of us. He was friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and very polite. He gave us a complimentary dessert as well. It's hard to find such excellent service at most places, but I have to say that I was very pleased with my two-day experience at this place.

We had a wonderful time at Agora. They were extremely conscientious of allergies and denote the menu to reflect limitations. Harold was an amazing server and someone that as a restaurant industry veteran myself greatly appreciate and rarely see nowadays. You guys got yourselves a keeper! Cheers!

Food and flavors were delicious. Really enjoyed the lamb and the yogurt sauce for the anadola. The portions weren’t huge, but the prices were reasonable which made up for it. That includes the drinks.

Came here during restaurant week which was a great deal! We got the sampler, stuffed zucchini, lamb chop, and baklava! All of them were phenomenal except the stuffed zucchini which was just ok. It was a little crowded and the seat I was put in I had to keep scooting in to let waiters pass. The music was also a little too loud to be able to hear one another. My server Erick was quick and very helpful though!

I have been living near this restaurant for almost a decade but I was always deterred because the constant amount of people but today I decided to go and WOW all these years of missing such wonderful mediterranean food!!! Mostly mix of turkish, lebanese and so.

Everything about this place is amazing. The atmosphere is great, there’s indoor and outdoor seating options (both outdoor options are covered). The food is served similar to tapas style, they recommend about 3 plates per person. The pita was endless and served fresh and warm. The hummus is creamy and full of flavor. Everything was delicious and cooked well except the octopus, which was a bit rubbery (likely because of the size). Some of the plates were much smaller than anticipated but overall we left full and happy! Definitely a must try!

Very fun! The food is good, GF items are clearly marked. They’ll bring veggies to dip in the spreads. They have fun cocktails as well.

This is a very nice restaurant. My daughter brought my wife and me to this restaurant to give it a try. we didn’t have any alcoholic drinks for during brunch, we absolutely loved the food. Would I come back again? Absolutely. But I would come in an empty stomach :).

Our server Jackie was wonderful & so attentive! She kept glasses full and food coming, so friendly and made the experience relaxed and fun. We were a group of 11 and felt well taken care of. Agora has a beautiful and moody dining room, it was the perfect atmosphere for a bday brunch. I will be coming again! Loved the food portions, variety and quality of food. Bottomless brunch is the way to go!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our experience at Tsedia was truly wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the warm smile and friendly attitude of the person who welcomed us made us feel very special. The restaurant manager was extremely attentive, kind, and professional, personally taking care of every detail, which we really appreciated. The service was smooth, the atmosphere was very enjoyable, and overall the level of hospitality was outstanding. If you’re looking for a place where you genuinely feel valued as a guest, this is definitely the right spot. Thank you to the entire team — we will absolutely be coming back!

Literally EVERYTHING we tried was soooo delish. We were an able of 5 and got multiple plates per person. We came for NYE dinner so were so busy but the staff was still so great, attentive, and kind!! Will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Bottomless brunch at Agora was worth it. It includes both bottomless food and drink with either bloody Mary’s or mimosas for $50. The food is quality, delicious food. The best thing I ordered was the lamb shoulder. The eggs benedict, truffled eggs, agora fries, and seasonal fruit (watermelon as of September 2025) was the best!! But honestly anything on the menu is good. The staff was very patient even though we were ordering food often. I went with a group of 8 and we had a good space inside. Would recommend for anyone who likes Mediterranean food!

We went for our team dinner during Restaurant Week, when the restaurant was offering a special five-course menu. We all opted for the prix-fixe experience and also wanted to add a few items from the regular menu. At first, our waiter didn’t seem sure how Restaurant Week works and told us we could only order from the set menu. We checked with the manager, who confirmed that ordering additional items from the main menu should be fine. Once that initial confusion was cleared up, everything ran smoothly. And the food is truly outstanding from the first course to the last. The trio sampler is a great way to start, and I especially loved the hummus; it was nice and thick, exactly how I like it. For my main, I ordered the grilled Mediterranean sea bass, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful. Every course that followed was just as impressive. Service after the early hiccup was excellent. The servers were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving at a comfortable pace for a team dinner. Other than the initial commotion, we had a fantastic experience overall. This is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to again and again.

Agora is a lovely Turkish Mediterranean restaurant with a very cozy and charming vibe. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal or a casual night out. The food tastes great overall, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. That said, the portion sizes are on the smaller side, which is something they could improve. Aside from that, everything else was quite enjoyable. Their tea and desserts really stood out and were especially good — a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Agora offers a great atmosphere, tasty food, and delicious tea and desserts. With slightly more generous portions, it would be even better.

The spread sampler is a good way to start, hummus was very thick which I didn’t like too much but all the other spreads were nice- I appreciated the diversity (Codroe, a version of tzatziki, roasted bell pepper, baba ganoush type thing). The lamb was quite underwhelming- the onions were raw and could’ve been so much better if it was dressed with a little lemon. The rice pudding was our favorite surprisingly - the orange blossom was fragrant and it was creamy with just the right amount of vanilla. Would go back to try other entrees that seem to be popular.

Azi was our waiter polite, friendly and helpful picking the best meals. Started with the sampler, beet salad was delicious, main course beef kebab for my spouse and had fried sprawn. Loved the desert pistachio soufflé was topper

I had the taramosalata spread and it was fantastic l. Also had the scallops which are good. Drinks here are phenomenal. The aroma #2 is delicious lightly smokey which I don't always like but works fantastically in this drink.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, and the waiters are very friendly. I'm deducting one point because they haven't thought through the outdoor seating arrangement – it's very cold, the heaters help but not much, but that's a management mistake. You should definitely try it because the food and the service are truly worth it, but book a table inside the restaurant.

We visited Agora DC during DC Restaurant Week to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and overall, it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The menu offered a nice variety of Mediterranean flavors, and everything we tried was satisfying. We chose to sit on the patio, which seemed like a nice setting at first but ended up being a bit too cold for a truly comfortable dinner. While the ambiance was pleasant, some added heating options would have made the experience much better. Despite the chilly patio, the service was attentive and friendly, making the evening enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend Agora DC for its fantastic food, and I’d love to return—just indoors next time!

Agora DC is an absolute gem for Mediterranean cuisine! The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a modern, cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you feel comfortable. The food is simply amazing—every dish is bursting with authentic flavors. I highly recommend the lamb chops and the hummus trio, which are both exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, always willing to offer great suggestions if you're unsure what to try. Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or a special occasion, Agora DC is the perfect spot. I'll definitely be returning!

I've walked by this place for years and decided to try it with a friend. They have an expansive outside area. It has a cozy atmosphere on the inside. Energetic for a Sunday evening. Service was quick and the food was overall good. They have a wide selection of food. You'll find things. Some of the portions are on the small side. If you're a big eater be prepared to order many dishes. Now I don't recall the menu disclosing an added service fee so be aware that they have one. I may have just overlooked it.

Agora DC: Promise, Polish, and Missed Notes Agora DC gets much right at first glance. The room is modern yet warm, evoking authenticity without theatrical excess. Service is attentive, informed, and delivered with an ease that immediately sets expectations high. Unfortunately, the food itself doesn’t always keep pace. The mixed mezze platter was uneven, ranging from pleasant to puzzling—one or two selections suffered from a damp, muted texture that dulled their flavors entirely. The falafel was disappointingly dry and bland, lacking the herbal lift or crisp exterior one hopes for. These early missteps were softened somewhat by stronger dishes that followed. The Ali Nazik kebap had good underlying flavor, though it leaned heavily on onions, tipping the balance away from the meat. The Ottoman rice, generously perfumed with cinnamon, was rich and genuinely delicious, a standout on the table. Even better was the hibiscus lemonade: vibrant, tangy, and refreshing, executed with a light hand. Agora is a place you want to like, and parts of it reward that impulse. Still, inconsistency holds it back. I’d return—with curiosity rather than confidence—and order differently next time. #MediterraneanDC #MezzeMoments #DiningInDC

Went to Agora for Valentine's day dinner. The whole second floor was packed with 2 person tables. The set menu was ok, the food tasted decent, but nothing special you couldn't cook at home. We got our second course plate before we had even finished half of the appetizers. Loud music and kind of noisy. Many better places to go to in DC

S
Stephanie Sulc

For the price, the food is not great. Very bland tasting. The sampler was good, but the beef was very bland. Needed salt or pepper or anything. It was a tiny cube of meat too for $20+. The chicken was good and the prawn was okay. Nothing was excellent. Won’t be going back. Presentation and atmosphere was really nice here though.
