What started out shaky, was resolved marvelously with the attention of Anne Marie and maitre'd. Funny story, the same thing happened over 20yrs ago where we stormed away. This time, Thankfully the situation was fixed, and it was well worth it! Mortons' is a legit steakhouse legend w the best everything. Our cocktails, appetizers, salad, steaks, wine, and dessert, were all perfection. Added w their exemplary service follow up, we had the best time. It is THE place for good quality rich food done well. The amuse bouche was a great touch. Thank you for a fantastic time! xo
I attended an event held at Morton’s, for which afterwards, a few folks and I went and had dinner. Service was great. The place was busy but the noise level was moderate. The food was delicious. The three guys I was with all got steak and I got the seafood dish!
We came to Morton's for valentine's day. We made reservations months in advance and it was well worth it. A great atmosphere, amazing food and awesome service.
Fantastic experience at Morton’s in D.C.! The service was excellent, the atmosphere classy and comfortable, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Great sides, great wine, and overall top-notch quality. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a true steakhouse experience!
My group visited Morton's to celebrate the last night of a senior trip. The staff were very attentive and kind. We had Kimberly as our server, and she was amazing. She ensured we had a great time and was very personable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is a longer dining time, but it is worth it and it is all apart of the experience.
Morton’s DC, - Taken to new heights! We are long time customers of Morton’s in Dallas, TX. Always superb steak and seafood, always great service and atmosphere. We are fairly new to DC and wanted to try Morton’s DC for my husband’s 65th birthday. Delightfully, greeted by Crystal, she had our table decorated with confetti and placed a written happy birthday wish from Morton’s on our table!! Off to a good start! We are familiar with all the Morton’s regular offerings. To our surprise, there were several new and interesting items to choose from. A bone in filet was my choice. Ribeye for my husband. The beautiful seared scallops with apricot and black pepper chutney - this mainstay appetizer was better than ever. New side dish, Szechuan green beans, MUST try! And kindly, they brought a chocolate lava cake with ice cream as a complimentary desert for his birthday - it was gone in seconds! Chris, our server, we recommend asking for. We could not have had a better evening at Morton’s DC enjoying the OLD and the NEW!
Wonderful food and service! The only complaint if I had to complain about anything is the air conditioning was not sufficient for the type of establishment that it is. We have been there 2 years in a row and I was sweating while I was eating. The steak that I had was excellent, though!
Elegance and class were exuding from just the entrance of this restaurant! I was impressed with the ambience once we walked in! The service was excellent! Our waitress Alexandria was so thoughtful and kind. The food was great! We were able to talk and have fun with each other without interruptions.
Morton’s Steak House in DC is nothing short of a culinary delight! From the moment you step through the doors, you are greeted with a sophisticated ambiance that sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The steaks are truly exceptional, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Each bite is a celebration of quality meat, with a variety of cuts to choose from that cater to all preferences. The service is top-notch, and I highly recommend asking for Jerry as your server. He is attentive, knowledgeable, and has a genuine passion for providing an excellent dining experience. Jerry went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect, offering great recommendations and making us feel right at home. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a great meal, Morton’s is the place to be. Don't miss out on this gem!
Went here for a company lunch and it was great. Tee was a great waiter and he made sure you had a great experience. The food was great and definitely would come back.
Our first time dining here and it was wonderful we really enjoyed our experience. Our server alexandria was one of the highlights of our experience she was attentive and talked with us on a personal level we really enjoyed that. The food was cooked perfectly our steaks and sides delicious we will definitely be back.
I had a wonderful birthday celebration on February 7th, thanks to my thoughtful and kind-hearted girlfriend, who took me to Morton's. This restaurant pleasantly surprised me with its spaciousness, classy atmosphere, and elegant touches. Our waiter, Chris, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu and even shared the story behind the pig logo. Additionally, the manager made a point to visit our table to check on us and ensure we were enjoying our meal. I can't wait to return! As a lovely surprise, there was a card in the menu with my name on it, which read something along the lines of “A Reason To Celebrate, HAPPY 34th BIRTHDAY DARRELL." Now, let’s talk about the food! Morton's has the best bread pudding I've ever tasted, with Famous Dave's coming in a close second. The dessert came out with a candle and a tiny plaque that read "Happy Birthday." For a party of two, the sides are definitely shareable, depending on what you choose. I had the smoked Gouda mashed potatoes, which were fantastic, and also tried the meatballs. My girlfriend shared her lobster mac and creamy corn with me, and every dish we ordered was delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!
Jerry was a delight and pleasure to meet. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I enjoyed him and would recommend his services to everyone. Jerry ia the best server in the restaurant!
Made a reservation and arrived 30 mins early. We were promptly seated with no issues and greeted by Jerry, whom is probably the most professional waiter I've ever had! He gave honest suggestions and we ended up with the filet mignon and wagyu filet with brussel sprouts and sour cream mashed potatoes. Drinks were on point! Highly recommend the lemon drop martini and old fashioned, you can't go wrong! I thank you for the outstanding service, you will see us again!
From the moment you enter, you’re aware that this is a special place, with personal wine collections, great location, unparalleled service, spectacular food—the bone-in ribeye is my favorite, but the 16 oz is good as well; great potato choices, the apps were just that…what a treat!
The food was delicious, and the service was great! The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had to park in metered parking, which only allowed us to park for an hour and a half and the car was several blocks away. The process of getting our check and paying took longer than I'm used to, and we were running late getting back to the car. If you plan on coming here and you use metered parking, try to park in an area that has a zone number you can use on the Park Mobile app so you can add time remotely to the meter. Otherwise, you might be like us and have to run back to your car.
Every time I visit, Mortons it’s always a great experience as somebody that is a regular guest and locker holder, I always choose this spot for all of my business and family events. Both Dan and Danny at the bar always take Good care of us, knowing what I want before I even sit down. A solid bond that we have built over the years. New manager, Tia has done a phenomenal job with the lunch guests and really bringing her vibrant flare to every table she touches. Carolyn, Jeff, Kate and Todd are always there to help whenever I need them. Just an awesome place. Go to the bar and ask for Dan and Danny.
Our server Kit was friendly, knowledgeable and fun! Also the manager Tia stopped by to make sure things were great. We enjoyed steak, wagu meatballs and the salmon. Could not think of a single thing that could be improved!
I attended a wine locker event this past Friday, and it was amazing. The food and wine were excellent, and the conversations made the night even better. I walked in after a tough day but was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Morton’s never lets me down; great food, great service, and a team that always makes me feel welcome!!! Thanks again.
Food was amazing, service was even better. I came here with my boyfriend on valentine’s day and they couldn’t have done a better job. Will definitely return.
My company had a private lunch for some prospective clients and it was great. The staff was flexible when setting the date for a private room, and that day they were also extremely helpful, responsive, and did a perfect job. I couldn't be happier.
Amazing experience. First class service from our server, Jerry. The steak was perfect, as were the sides. The manager, Tia, came to the table and it wasn’t just a pass by. She literally checked in and wanted to make sure we were happy. We had a great conversation with her and the personal commitment to excellence was so evident from start to finish with this team. Morton’s is hands down the best steakhouse and this location especially. Stellar staff!
Great steaks, service, and highly recommend lobster mac and cheese! The manager, Tia, was lovely and took great care of us.
Morton’s delivers the classic steakhouse experience — perfectly cooked steaks, rich sides, and a polished, old-school atmosphere. Service is attentive and professional, making it a reliable choice for business dinners or special occasions.
Our waiter Jerry was AMAZING! Made this a birthday to remember. Highly recommend.
I had the best experience at Morton’s last night! Honestly, I had lost hope in finding exceptional service in the restaurant industry—until I met my server, Kitt. He was absolutely amazing—attentive, kind, and incredibly professional. His service truly stood out. I also had the pleasure of meeting Tia, the manager, who went above and beyond to make sure my experience was perfect. She exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, every team member greeted me with a warm smile. That genuine hospitality made the entire evening so much more enjoyable and worth every dime. Thank you, Morton’s, for restoring my faith in great service!
Jerry is the best server. Made my daughter’s 16 birthday unforgettable.
Jerry was the friendliest server! Great energy and attentive. Food did not disappoint. If you like key lime pie with extra whipped cream, they will deliver.
Great experience and great food, but the server…Incredible!! Jerry was awesome. Sometimes you find a server who tops off the experience like a cherry on top of your sundae. He even brought me complimentary ketchup and it was wonderful!
Loved the food, service, and manager! Super accommodating even while running late. The manager Tia was super sweet and talked with us loads, never experienced a manager that kind before. She even took our pictures & printed them out. Made our birthday party memorable. The steak was the most seasoned steak I’ve had along with the sides! Enjoyed ourselves from out of town!!
I really liked the restaurant and its vibe. The service was great and fast. Our waitress, she was amazing. Drinks were tasty and interesting. We didn’t like the Brussel sprout at all so we didn’t touch it, and we didn’t say anything. However our waitress realized it and she was kind enough to suggest and change it for us. We got the caesar salad instead which was amazing!! For main course we ordered the dry aged bon in steak 18 oz to share. it was really tasty and good. However part of my steak was burnt ( we ordered medium, which was really good medium) but not sure why part of was burnt! Also since we wanted to share they cut it for us in advance and put their full butter on Top for each of us which was too much butter for half steak. At the end i wish it wasn’t burnt on outside (part of it) and i wish was less buttery. Still tasty though. Not to mention the lava cake was good too. Note 1. I didn’t know my plate is too hot so I touched it to move it and burned my finger! I wish they told me it was hot. Note 2. If you rely on google map to find it remember it is inside the building on the second floor. So don’t walk around wondering.
Nice restaurant if you’re looking for a fine dining experience. I gave 4 stars due to our server…he was dry and didn’t give us his best this day. I know he could be better 🤷🏾♀️🫶🏾
A very nice establishment and excellent wait staff. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is kinda big but there is plenty of delicious options.
With a place this expensive and fancy the bathrooms are trash. It doesn't feel like the overall atmosphere. The place it outdated and is missing the feel that speaks to the modern generation. the food is great the place just needs a face-lift. especially being in the nation's capital. it doesn't feel any special than if it was a fancy chillies or a fancy ruby Tuesday's.
The service and atmosphere were excellent, and the lemon drops were delicious. The filet mignon and lobster mac and cheese were just okay.
I went for the bone on ribeye, fries and onion rings. The steak was fatty and hard to eat, the fries were lovely but hard to eat, the onion rings were pretty good. My partner had the chicken which was absolutely amazing! The waiter was absolutely amazing he explaining everything and totally looking after us. But over all our first experience of an American steak house was a big let down with a very big price ☹️
If you're on a budget, this isn't the place for you. Online menus haven't been updated since before COVID and the reasonably priced lunch specials are no longer available. I was so disappointed because both the Crispy Chicken BLT and Prime Burger looked so good.
The service was pretty slow - it took over an hour to get our meal - and the food was average. We were also stuck in traffic down a couple of blocks away and the manager (I assume), threatened to give our table away if we weren’t there in 5 minutes, despite giving them a call in advance. However, the restaurant itself was very nice. We ordered the filet mignon with truffle butter which was decent, lobster mac & cheese which was pretty flavorless and mushy and lyonnaise potatoes which was also decent. There are better steakhouse options in the DC area.
Meh quality, same as other Mortons, still better than Ruth though, but that’s a low standard…
Visited the bar in January to try out the viral sliders and champagne combo with a friend. We were really excited to hang out & the date/time we visited.wss perfect because the bar was very quiet. Unfortunately wee were a little disappointed because: - we were sat between two high tops where the other partrons refused to move their chairs so we had to squeeze in & there were a lot of other tables we could have sat at. -our waitress was pretty scarce, during our time at the bar. She took out order and that was pretty much it. -the sliders were good (we ordered the chicken and the burger to be able to try both) but the truffle fries tasted tough like they sat under a heat lamp for a while. The champagne was delicious. -We had to ask for the champagne that came with the meal because it wasn't served by the time our food came out. we needed a box but had to ask for a box 5 times to 3 different workers before someone finally brought one. It took quite a while after the box came over for us to get our check. Will I visit Morton's again? Maybe.
I went to Morton’s for the advertised Bubbles & Bites special, which included burger or chicken sliders, truffle fries, and a choice of champagne or vodka. Unfortunately, the experience was very underwhelming. We were almost seated at a dirty table with a substance that resembled ashes. Once seated, the service was extremely slow — it took nearly 25 minutes for our server to come to the table, and each return visit took another 15 minutes. The bar area smelled strongly of cigar smoke, and the odor was unpleasant and overwhelming. They opened a door which made the area freezing. When we asked if the door could be closed, we were told it couldn’t be due to CO₂ levels. They eventually closed it slightly, but it was still left partially open. The drinks were good — I had the lavender cosmo, which I enjoyed. However, the Bubbles & Bites meal itself was disappointing, especially since they had run out of the advertised boxing for the meal presentation. Our food also took about 40 minutes to arrive. The restrooms were not clean and had old, stained countertops, which added to the overall negative impression. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations and felt underwhelming for a restaurant of this caliber.
If you are going for the bubbles & bites veuve clicoquot meal don’t bother, go somewhere else. They must have ran out of the cute boxes advertised because it came in black containers and we were not warned prior to. Maybe if we were warned we could have considered other menu options. We were greeted in a very rushed manner when we arrived as if we weren’t welcome. We were told we could sit in the corner, which smelled like smoke which is not ideal for people who don’t smoke and have asthma and prefer not to be around it. We were told the bar was fully booked and that was the only spot, meanwhile as the night continued the bar tables surrounding us continued to be vacant. The servers in the bar were amazing, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu but the burger was dry and the advertised special did not exist causing the experience to be disappointing. There are many other places to dine at this price point in DC with better accommodations.
Very nice inside and everyone was very nice but food wise it was not very good , steak to cooked and the lobster bisque had a chuck of leather piece. Not a favor at least for us .
Attended a special international Corp. event during this years AUSA in DC and was really disappointed with the taste of the Steak and especially the side dishes at Morton's Steak house. Big let down. The Steak was quite Average and the side dishes were horrible. Thanks gosh it wasn't stuck to our Corp. bill
From the moment we walked in, it was not it for what a steakhouse of these prices. The host greeted us with food in his mouth. We were sat at the booth right beside the kitchen, which was loud & dirty. There was a curtain splitting the restaurant in two which made it feel like a conference room at a hotel, very weird. The waiter was okay, friendly but not attentive. The food was pretty basic & not warm, especially the lobster Mac. I would easily say I prefer longhorn steakhouse food to the food here. For the two of us, I got a steak, he got surf & turf, we split lobster Mac & cheese & the meatball appetizer, & cocktail & two rum and cokes and it was $250 + $60 tip. Not worth it in the least bit.
We had a truly terrible experience there on January 10. We went to enjoy the bubbles and bites promotion. It took an hour for us to get our food. When it finally arrived, the fries were cold. So, they took it back and we waited another 15–20 minutes. When it came back, the fries were warmer, but super hard. Kind of like those potato sticks you get in the canisters at the grocery store. What’s worse is that they didn’t seem to notice how long we were waiting until we had been waiting 40 minutes. We finally got an apology from the manager after we’d been there well over an hour and finally had our food. I was awfully surprised that we were charged full price for the food we waited over an hour to get. I was excited to go there and saw many things on the menu I thought I’d like to try sometime after work. But after that experience, I don’t think I want to go back.
The judgment I got from Morton’s is laughable. Eddie V’s is Tyson’s is 2 times the class, with a live violinist/pianist playing during your meal, fancier decor, better menu options, yet WONT turn you away or judge you for how you dress, like Morton’s. Something very snobby about the manager. Go to Eddie V’s. Even Ruth’s Chris. A reminder, a man can wear sweats and a hoodie, and still have more class in his pinky finger than 5 men in suits.
I was delivered fatty bland lamb along with bland cream spinach. I requested medium well which I did not receive. I had someone order food for me because Ruth's Chris didn't provide the service. NEVER AGAIN.
Very disappointing experience. I dined at Morton’s on Connecticut Ave expecting the level of service the brand is known for, but unfortunately that wasn’t my experience. We waited over an hour for our food because our waiter forgot to put the order in. I completely understand that we’re all human and mistakes happen—but what was most frustrating was the lack of urgency once the mistake was realized. Instead of immediately correcting the issue or proactively communicating, nothing was done. After sitting for far too long with no clear resolution, I eventually had to get up from my table to find a manager myself. At a restaurant of this caliber and price point, guests should never have to chase down management to resolve such a basic service failure. Overall, the service did not match Morton’s standards, and it left a very disappointing impression. The manger did end up fixing the issue but it just was a bad experience.
We went with friends (6 of us) to enjoy dinner and then head over to the Improv. We advised our server we only had two hours and had to leave. The minute it took 20 mins to receive our drinks, we knew this was going to be a problem. Immediately we ordered our dinner along with sides. It took close to 45 mins to receive 5 dinners for a party of 6! My steak was supposedly on its way. This is an upscale restaurant. If all 6 do not come out, please do not serve!!! Proper educate would be for everyone to wait so we can eat together. After 5 mins I told my friends to please eat. My streak which I ordered medium well came out medium rare! Worst experience, I will never return to Morton’s. I will just go to Ruth Chris instead.
