Went to the drag bunch and had a really good time. Ratchet but funny and entertaining. Well worth it.
Great food, awesome bartenders who are really friendly. I love the proscuitto goat cheese and figs flat bread and the bruschetta during happy hour... they are like $6 at that time. Also cocktails here are fresh and well made.
Attended a birthday party here to celebrate my neice. I was a little concerned about trying to find parking in this area ( Conneticut Ave), but I got lucky and was able to park around the corner of the lounge/bar. The FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!!!! The momosa's were pretty good also. Nice staff and place to visit and have brunch, mingle and enjoy a Sunday. I really enjoyed this location, nice vibes and atmosphere at "Dirty Martini" Very nice place to network and meet cool people. I would definitely come back to this location. Come and have a "great time at Dirty Martini. P.S. They have 3 levels to party!!!!
The place caters to a young adult crowd the food was delicious, and plentiful at this Sunday brunch! It was worth the money spent to get in to the all-you-can-eat brunch, and Day party immediately following.
I had tuna ceviche and a bison burger at Dirty Martini this weekend. Both were excellent. Very well prepared, and additionally fairly inventive. The burger came with eggplant fries, which might not have been my favorite, but were certainly a bold and innovative variation on the norm. While I thought the food was great, the martini's seemed so-so. But, not being much a martini person, I might not be in the best place to judge. All-in-all Dirty Martini can definitely hold it's own with some of the other higher end restaurants in the Dupont Circle area.
Very nice venue. The bar has a foul smell coming from I'm assuming the drains. Sitting at the front table, we could smell it every now and then. You may want to check them.
I have only been to Dirty Martini once, but I would totally go back -- when I went, I tried their peach salad, and it was so delicious! I mean really -- grilled peaches, baby arugula, goat cheese, baby tomatoes, celery and candied walnuts tossed in a peach vinaigrette? How can you go wrong? I haven't tried their eponymous beverages, but totally would with inventive names like "the Mitt" and "the Obama". (Very fitting for D.C.) Definitely give this place a try..!
Dirty martini is OK. I only say that because the vegetables were more than Al dente and then they put a heap of garlic in the Macaroni and cheese but the vegetables didn't have any seasoning!! I was confused about that, like how you gonna put that seasoning in the macaroni and cheese and not have any in the vegetables!! Day Party was good because we had a table.
Came here for drag brunch and had a blast. The drinks were good and so was the food. The bartenders were also great and so very helpful. The drag show itself was fantastic. I will be recommending this place to my friends and will be returning for the drag show.
I was here with an unexpected large group. They were beyond amazing and accommodating. Not to mention the food was excellent! The truffle mac & cheese will not disappoint! And the drinks were excellent, of course. Great place for happy hour and to enjoy great food with friends!
Last week is the 3rd time I’ve attended Dirty Martini drag brunch. The food is always good and I love the mac and cheese. The show is one of the best Ive seen. I will be back again for the 4th time for my mom’s birthday.
The experience was Great!! However they could do a BETTER JOB of Keeping the Buffet Food HOT instead of just barely Warm and REPLENISHED. Nevertheless, for the most part the food was seasoned well, WAFFLES AND OMELETS were Great, ambience and atmosphere was great, customer service was great, Etc. I would highly recommend this place for Brunch with Entertainment and I would definitely return!
Went here for my friend's birthday and we could not have picked a better place for it! We had most of the V.I.P section to ourselves, so that was an added plus. The double layer of security (one at the door and one right outside of V.I.P) helped add to the exclusivity. Bringing it all together was the live DJ and the free hookahs! I would definitely recommend (and recommend again) going there!
Brunch food was a good variety (pretty soulful/flavorful). Good music and drag entertainers
We visited here for a Drag Brunch. Nice Brunch. Nice location and Venue. I would definitely recommend this place.
The venue is very nice. The food was so good. The venue was sooooo hot though!!! Their fans didn't work and the AC was lacking. In this extreme heat we need some air.
Very good show. Food was good. Drinks were a little watered down. I would suggest somewhere on the flyer they put tips are welcomed or they work for tips. But overall a very good show.
I went here for the drag Brunch so I can only speak on my experience incurred during a slSaturday afternoon: the facility seemed well managed. I the bar tenders we're attentive and the bathrooms were clean. If this is make as a nightclub the floor is kind of small but they do have an upstairs (not sure if it's used or not).
The Drag Brunch is awesome! They have lots of energy and really put on a performance. You get 2 mimosas with purchase and its a buffet style brunch. The mimosas are actually some of the best I've had in DC and they have multiple flavors incuding my favorite pineapple. Be sure to bring your singles to tip the performers. They desirve it for all the work they put into their performances although they look like they are just having fun rather than working which is a good thing. Good music. Good food. Full bar. Great time.
Went for a friend's bday brunch. Went on a Sunday, Line was crazy, only took cash, line for the ATM out front. $35 for brunch, $45 including mimosas. Had to restock the food, but was decent. Mimosas came in 4 different flavors. Music was live, would go again on a quieter night lol
i went for a friend's birthday and they did a good job of addressing the large table we had. the drinks were very good and it was a nice atmosphere. i haven't been back yet because it was a bit pricey for drinks and apps, but i might in the future!
Blah brunch, the show was pretty good. It would be better if there were more acts.
Kind of dirty, long line outside but hardly anyone inside. Music was good with a lot of Indian inspired mixes. Drinks are typically priced for DC. There's a swing.
I came here for Sunday brunch, so I'm not sure what it's like on other days, but here were the pros and cons for me. Pros - the food was delicious and their endless Mimosas are truly endless! For the most part, the staff was friendly and the venue was spacious. Cons- They started off very unorganized. It almost seemed like their first trip to the rodeo, when I'm sure this event is held every Sunday. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off unable to answer questions or seat our group. I thought collecting the money at the door before the meal was kind of tacky, but not a huge deal. Overall, the experience was good. The lobster Mac and cheese, French today, and zucchini were great.
The entertainment was great, but the building needs some attention; restrooms, chairs/tables, mirrors...especially the large center piece above the bar/upstairs area. I'm big on decor and cleanliness. If these areas are updated or cared to this place will be worth the money spent for Brunch's, Day Parties, xyz.
Went here for the 1st time the show was fabulous and the food was alright, the mimosa's were ok u only get 2per ticket if you're there with a party. Now for the space it wasn't very big so you had to make do. The place had no air conditioning and that was very disappointing.
Food was pretty good. The process to get in the spot for this brunch sucked. Unprofessional peeps running things. Once we finally got in the spot we had a good time. Music is loud. Don't expect to be able to hold conversation at table.
I had a nice time at brunch once I got in. My bartender was on point. The atmosphere was nice as well. I do wish that they played current afro beats. Also the wait time I line was a bit ridiculous it was almost no type of organization going on. Jobs were being passed to bouncers. All while the customers stood anxiously burning up in line. I'm not gonna lie that whole stand in line process killed my vibe a bit and gave me a few nerves. But once I got to the bar and was offer a drink immediately I kinda found my balance again. Anywho I ended up enjoying myself after everything was said and done.
I enjoyed the Drag Brunch here but only because of the show. The food was bad and ran out way before everyone had eaten, the drinks were bad, and the place is just okay. The show was good though and the drag queens were great.
I would have given the venue 5 stars, but it was extremely hot. Not sure if the air conditioning was broken but it was over 90F yesterday. Likewise, although the first level was good, the elevator was broken, and the bathrooms were small making the venue not very accessible for those who use assistive devices, like a wheelchair.
Don't come here for brunch. It may have been good a year or more ago but now the people managing the brunch don't know what they're doing. If it wasn't for the ladies at the front, the food actually tasting good and the music I would give this one star. It has the potential to be awesome but having to search for my waitress, multiple parties having to wait a long time to sit although they made reservations, food running out continuously etc. will hurt them everytime. If 10 ppl come in one day, only 3 would return again. For them...I give 3 stars.
I visited Dirty Martini during CBC week for a sponsored event. Although the venue itself is nice, I found the food and drink service to be astoundingly slow. It was almost as if they couldn't accommodate the volume of people expected for a special event. I wouldn't mind visiting Dirty Martini again on a regular night just to see if it's better for intimate occasions, but my first experience left a lot to be desired.
The furniture is old, dingy & unappealing. The staff/waitresses were very unprofessional. My friends & I came for a celebration. However, the food was delicious though. I wanted to meet the chef because I wanted to commend him
This place has style and nice ambiance this DJ is jammin too! but horrible service the bartenders have no professionalism and the bartender was texting in front of me for about 15mins before she acknowledge me. Her co-worker had to get her attention in order for me to get service. The staff needs to be retrained on customer sevice regardless of what time it is or day you're always supposed to give great attitude and be professional but obviously not here.
Went here for my birthday. Each guest paid $45 for bottomless food and mimosas for two hour segment. Food was rarely restocked. Only received one half full plate. But the food was good, just wish my guests could enjoy $45 worth of it.
Please Please dont go here for brunch. I paid $55 for the seafood brunch. I got one crab claw. And over cooked salmon. They were taking 30 mins to refill the trays. The food on the regular brunch was horrible. No fresh fruit, No eggs, no waffles or pancakes. The mimosas was pure juice. I will never go back here.
I have personally had a bad experience with the staff.. very unhelpful and unapologetic staff. I got my jacket stolen from the bar, and nobody there was sreally responsive or ready to help me out. Drinks are good, but expensive. Music is alright too!
About a week ago, I attended the DC Fashion Show and it was, hands down, an awful experience! First off, VERY poorly set up in a Restsurant that's not as big as it seems for a crowd of maybe, 300+ freaking people and NO ONE could go anywhere!!!! May I suggest the Fashion Show to be in a BIGGER place? Maybe the Washington Convention Center? I'm sorry, but MORE room is required for a Fashion Show of that magnitude!!
I purchased tickets on Eventbrite for here. They continue to sell tickets for live Jazz on Thursdays but no band. Check for yourself please. It's called Dirty Live. You will be unable to reach anyone for a refund. The manager maintains its not his doing. Shameful to be cheating people, false advertisement & they comtinue to sell tickets as I type. 😠
I went to this venue for a birthday gathering.. in ordering drinks from the bartender who handed me my receipt without my card and tried to kick me out when I confronted the bartender. You know it’s bad when the bouncer tells you to refuse all the charges.. I will NEVER VISIT THIS VENUE AGAIN.. and if you decide you visit this establishment USE CASH!!!!
Had reservations..... still had to wait beyond my group's reservation tonight... there was zero customer service or empathy displayed for their mistake. Their attitude was not required nor desired. This experience has me never wanting to return or refer anyone to this poorly managed establishment.
Their NYE ticket was very falsely advertised...we paid $80 for GA w/ 5 hour “premium open bar” 9pm-2am, and they were running out of alcohol when we arrived at 10. Charged for a mandatory coat check??? Later in the night they miraculously started serving drinks with the liquor they were all out of earlier, serving seemingly heavy pours, but no trace of alcohol. Waste of money.
One of the rip-off bars. Never use a credit card, they force charge you tips. See the receipt before you sign, they already add a tip on your drinks. If you cross out the typed tip amount, they still put the charge on your card. I feel pathetic how such a place exists in the heart of DC. Watch out!
Dirty Martini is such a fitting name. This place is FILTHY! Our champagne glasses were so dirty they just rinsed them with water and didn’t wash them it looked like a leaf was in one of the glasses. The mimosas were TRASH there was nothing but juice in the pitchers. I didn’t even get a buzz. The food was great but the plates were dirty as well. Not to mention we had a reservation of 1pm for a party of 7 and everyone didn’t arrive till at least 1:30. When we were seated upstairs they said the food wasn’t ready and we waited till about 2pm to request to be moved downstairs. The day party was cool the DJ was great but I will never return to this place.
The staff was horrible and they have an issue with the LGBTQ community!! We reserved an area for a birthday party and each one of my guest paid 45.00 to get in and bought bottles/drinks/hookah. The security didn't even want same sex people taking pictures together. We were told we need to hurry because the owner does not allow anything that looks "gay". This will definitely not be the last you hear from my community. I am so disappointed...
This place is the absolute worst! The customer service is bad. A group of us walked in and the host never greeted us. He was bending down behind the front desk and never came up even though he knew we were standing there. We had to talk to him while he was bending down and we could barely understand what he was saying because he was "bending down and not standing up" to look and talk to us. The place is dirty. The booth seat seats had stains. When we sat down a waitress came by not to ask how she could help us but to tell us that we would have to move at a certain time because the interns had to sit in that area. She had plenty of opportunity to approach in a different way. After we advised her that we would like to see a menu that is when she brought them out. Customer service was so bad we left. I don't recommend this place at all.
The service is terrible. We arrived at 12:40pm for our reservation at 1:00pm and they didn’t open the doors until 1:30pm. The host then proceeded to allow guest with no reservations who just walked in to sit before us. When we addressed the issue, she responded, “I’m just trying to get people in.” The environment as a whole was unprofessional and unorganized. Everything from the wobbly tables to the dirty utensils. I would suggest having an additional host and implementing a booking system to accurately record reservations. Also, lock the doors until the restaurant is open. It’s extremely unprofessional when your guest arrive before your hostess and security do. -With love.
Went there on a Friday night about 8pm. They recently changed the menu from good to awful, and reduced the amount of menu options. They also changed management at some point from good to awful. The service was terrible and slow. (Took about 30 minutes to receive a pineapple juice with no ice.) And the waitress could tell us nothing about the foods on the new menu, nor did she care to find out. P.S. Steer clear of the mango chicken unless you're okay with a vomit-y consistency paired with a not good flavor. The music was ridiculously loud (and not good) during a scheduled networking event and dinner.
Went to Dirty Martini yesterday for a happy hour birthday party, and I don't think I'll ever go back. Besides the few patrons at the bar, there was only our group, about ten people. Our server, Antonio, was incompetent and stressed out. He was repeatedly getting orders wrong, ringing things up wrong, and moving with frenetic distress. It was clear he was in over his head. I'm sure 5pm on a Wednesday isn't when prime foodservice staff are on duty, but for the price of the food and drinks we expected more professional service. My wife and I ordered drinks and appetizers; the drinks came fairly quickly and were fairly weak. The appetizers didn't come for thirty minutes, at which point I told our server to cancel the order and bring us our check. He told us the food would be provided on the house and would be ready momentarily, so we stayed. There was a nice curly hair in the mini burgers! There are hundreds of places like Dirty Martini in DC. Go to ANY of them instead.
This Place has ROACHES. I went here for brunch on Sunday 11/18/2018 and was highly upset with the service I received. There were literally roaches in the shot glasses and Pitchers of our drinks and it didn’t happen just once, it was THREE times. Honestly I don’t even think they check their dishes before they serve them. Plus on top of that we had a whole reservation for 3 and didn’t get seated until 3:45 and we arrived 15 mins early. The people that handle the front are terrrible and they have horrible customer service and the treat people like they are so much better than regular people when they are only hostess and club promoters. Thank God we received a refund and I will NEVER be going here again I just thought somebody should know that this place is DIRTY just like the name.
