What a lovely Valentine's day / anniversary dinner I had here with my lovely wife! We were just visiting some family in the area and found this fun little bistro with great food!!
We were on vacation in western PA when I found Bistro 303 online. We decided to try it and I'm so glad we did. Annabelle was our server. She was so personable and great with food and drink suggestions. We loved the fried guacamole, shrimp pasta, and shrimp filet tacos (no photo of that one).
My husband took me here for our wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. Food and service were top-notch. Pricing was also reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
From the moment we hit the door Ava was amazing. So friendly, so welcoming, so informative. She made suggestions. She smiled and talked with us. The Chef came to the table smiling and serving us. Best experience we have had in a long time. We will be back!!!
What a nice surprise! Only 1/2 hour Pitt international airport- super easy to get to- have got to remember this one ! You know what: if you don’t want to go into the city for a really posh place, come here instead- so worth it !
Easily the best restaurant in Weirton/Steubenville area. I’m so pleased to see a high quality restaurant in this area. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic. The drinks were wonderful! I’d definitely, absolutely, without a doubt, eat here again. I’m planning our next visit already! There were so many items I wanted to try and I can’t wait to try them all.
Had a larger party of about ten people to celebrate our small wedding ceremony. We had the back room to ourselves, Zoe our waitress was incredible and everything food wise was to die for! We enjoyed our time so much, they even accommodated my toddler and gave us a dessert on the house! Thank you from the whole family for a great night of memories.
This is a very nice place to eat. We stopped out of the blue after-work on a rather sweat inducing volunteering assignment and didn't realize how nice this place is. They were generous and accepting. The service was excellent. Lauren, our server was attentive and professional. The food was very good. If you are near Wierton VA stop for a meal.
The restaurant from the outside looks like a storage facility. Dont let the beige exterior fool you. Inside, it is tastefully decorated with spacious seating. There were a few curved booths and some 4 tops on one side. On the other, a few high tables. There was also a separate dining room with additional seating. Our server, Jade, was wonderful. She suggested excellent appetizers and desserts. She was very attentive, cleared the plates and excess utensils so the table didn't become overwhelmed, and was very timely with water and cocktail refills We had the Asian ribs and arancini to start. The arancini was soft and the sauce was authentic tasting marinara. They could have used more mozzarella in the stuffing. The ribs were not quite falling off the bone, but the sauce was rich and tangy. The filet mignon was prepared to a perfect medium and seasoned beautifully. It was tender, juicy and melted in our mouths. The loaded baked potato and broccoli made excellent side choices. For dessert, the limoncello cake was spongy and had a perfect amount of lemon. It was a nice balance of sweet and sour and quite refreshing. The creme brulee cheesecake was a bit gritty. The cheesecake itself was creamy and had a nice flavor. Overall, this was an excellent meal and we will return when we are in the area.
My wife and I went there for our anniversary. The filet and the crab cakes were outstanding. Lobster Mac is outstanding as well. Salad was good. Bread was amazing and so was the dipping sauce. Lauren did a great job. Highly recommend this place.
I can't tell you the last time that I have enjoyed a meal so much and with the staff is friendly as they were made the evening even more enjoyable. Our waitress Lauren was fabulous and half of those laughs were with her! I can't even begin to name everything that we ordered because it was a lot but everything we ate was outstanding! Absolutely worth every penny! If I could give it a 10 star rating I would!
I was having dinner with customers and needed to do a presentation while eating. Restaurant management was generous and kind enough to allow me to use their private back room which has a mounted TV. Eva was our main server and she was enthusiastic, kind and efficient. I have to note that several employees assisted her at times, as they did me with the WiFi etc, and everyone was equally attentive, friendly and efficient. The chef, who was also managing that night, came out a personally introduced himself to me and my guests. Next level. All of the food from appetizers to dessert (including the specialty cocktails) weren’t only delicious but thoughtful in their presentation. This is a fantastic restaurant filled with special people and I wish them the greatest success.
Amazing experience came in for my wife’s birthday last night. Lauren did outstanding! Really knowledgeable and loved how she took us on a brief “tour” of the menu. Great suggestions on food and wine. Had the special halibut it was delicious. Can’t wait to come back.
This was our first visit and won't be our last! Everything about this dining experience was second to none. We enjoyed the oysters, fried guacamole, NY strip steak, mashed potatoes and pasta a la vodka. Chef even treated us to free bread with lemon butter - some of the best I've ever had. 10/10 experience!!
We doordashed this and even after the car ride and waiting in takeout containers this food was amazing eveything came out great and I would recommend trying that Arancini
My husband and I love this place! The food and drinks are delicious. We have never had a bad meal. It really means a lot that Chef Mario is always ready to help out and speaks with the patrons.
A High-Caliber Hidden Gem in the Valley If you are looking for a dining experience that rivals the best spots in Pittsburgh without the long drive, Bistro 303 is an absolute must-visit. It is truly an underrated hidden gem that brings a sophisticated level of culinary talent right to the valley. The Atmosphere and Service The experience was elevated from the moment we sat down. Our waitress, Lauren, was fantastic—incredibly friendly, very attentive, and genuinely helpful. She played a huge part in our evening, offering great insights that helped us navigate the menu to find exactly what we were craving. The Menu What makes Bistro 303 stand out is the balance of its menu. It’s rare to find a place that caters to both everyday dining with normally priced items and special occasions with high-end selections and chef’s specials. Whether you want a casual weeknight meal or a celebratory feast, they have a seat for you. The Food and Drink Cocktails: We started with drinks, and they were amazing—well-balanced and expertly crafted. Lobster Bisque: This was the perfect starter. It was rich, velvety, and set a high bar for the rest of the meal. Cowboy Ribeye: For the main course, the Cowboy Ribeye was the star of the show. It was seasoned perfectly and cooked exactly to order. It’s the kind of steak you usually only find at high-end city chophouses. Final Verdict It is so refreshing to have a restaurant of this caliber locally. You don’t need to head into Pittsburgh to find exceptional food and service anymore. I highly recommend Bistro 303 to anyone looking for their next favorite spot.
Atmosphere is always clean. It's just simple, but for most, that's a great thing. When we dined in, we had a great experience. Our waitress was nice and informative. Our food came out nicely. Their cocktails are so good.I'm telling you, there's a great mixologist! And i'm not even a drinker. But they are great. So good that I thought about them today. To just order takeout, because obviously I have to prep for thanksgiving and i'm really excited about it.Food is delicious. The bartender is wonderful kind and they are quick in helping you
Took my wife here for our Anniversary. Excellent. By the time we were done with our appetizers there was very little room left for our main courses which we took the majority home and enjoyed them the next day. We also went back for a birthday dinner with our Daughter, her husband and their 2.5 yr old daughter. Food again excellent. Treated like kings. Service great and attention to our granddaughter was superb!
Love this place. I only wish they would get all the food to the table hot every time. Everything matches the upscale price except that. Still, five stars because the staff is lovely, and the food really is great.
Absolutely hands down greatest meal in a long time. Opted for the special which was a filet wrapped in bacon topped with a crab cake topped with 2 lobster tails covered in bearnaise sauce sitting on truffle mashed potatoes. Filet was cooked to perfect medium rare and the lobster was very tender. The salad was excellent as well with candied walnuts and cranberries. The dressing was so good you could drink it. Wide selection of spirits including good bourbon choices. Also the bread and dipping oil is absolutely to die for!! They won't give you the secret for the dipping oil so don't bother asking. :)
We visited Bistro 303 to celebrate a 60th anniversary. Before we even got there, they were extremely responsive through email to set everything up. Once there our dining experience was fantastic. No one had complaints about their food or drinks. They made sure to make my grandparents feel special and had a nice surprise dessert ready. The owner was very attentive and we saw him visiting other tables as well, which created a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.
We were coming from NC to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary so I asked a local friend and Bistro 303 was recommended. It did not disappoint! I reached out via email with several questions and every time the response was quick. The owner's personal attention really made the evening special. The menu has something for everyone with reasonable pricing. I personally recommend the filet mignon, crab cake, lobster Mac n cheese and the chocolate cake. Other meals at our table included the Hawaiian chicken, various steaks, and pastas. There was not a single complaint. I would definitely recommend Bistro 303 and will visit it again the next time we are in town.
Eva did a wonderful job! Everyone was her friend which made it personal. The food was excellent and fairly affordable. If you are tired of chain restaurants then you have to try this place. Great atmosphere with soft music and lighting. Spending my anniversary with my soulmate and we enjoyed our time here. We will be back.
Hands down the best dining experience in Weirton. Bar is top notch. Not only do they know how to prepare and drink they know how to present a cocktail. Been there numerous times and never had a bad experience. Just a really great place you owe yourself to experience.
Truly a wonderful experience. Food was top notch, quality ingredients and clearly educated/ knowledgeable chefs made this a very unique local experience. The staff was again, knowledgeable, helpful and always checking in, owner stopped by to ensure we were taken care of. A fine dining restaurant in an area not known for its elegance is an easy choice for date night!
The food was fantastic. The calamari was very fresh and the marinara was the best I've ever tasted. The entre' was delicious. Will definitely be returning.
First time we were here. Service was great and food was delicious. Chef Mario is the best. Will definitely be back.
Very pretty, especially in the covered outdoor section. Looks like there may have even been seperate indoor seating but I'm not sure. Bathrooms were clean! But we were able to sit at a booth which is my prefrence. I had the Salmon Salad and Lobster Bisque. The salad was everything I was hoping for. The Lobster Bisque was so creamy with extra dollops of cream and big chunks of lobster meat. My mother got the delicious Nashville Chicken Sandwhich that has mac n' cheese on it. Smoked Gouda I think. So good. And then she got the crispiest on the outside, fluffiest in the middle french fries dipped in great homemade ranch and coleslaw that she said tasted like grandma's, on the side. Our waitress was very nice.
Had dinner there tonight. Everything was over the top delicious. The Lobster Bisque was the best i ever had Keep up the good work!!!
We celebrated our anniversary at this wonderful restaurant last night, and it truly exceeded our expectations. It was our first visit, having been highly recommended by friends for both the food and the overall experience. I chose the surf and turf, while my husband enjoyed the shrimp and lobster fettuccini. We also shared the Asian ribs as an appetizer, which were simply delightful. Our server, Lauren, made our evening even more special. She was incredibly attentive and had some fantastic suggestions from the menu. We were so impressed by her service that we decided to request her every time we visit in the future. To top it all off, she surprised us with a delicious limoncello cake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to our meal. Overall, Lauren did an outstanding job, and we genuinely felt cared for throughout our visit. It was such a wonderful experience, and we’re already discussing our next trip back!
We hosted a family function for 50 people and I could not been happier. The service was great and the food was over the top!!! My guests complimented how good the food was for days after our event. They all found a new place in the area to frequent. The owner, Evelyn, could not have been more accommodating as she met all our needs. Love this place!!
food was amazing.. brunch menu choices was more than enough… fillet tacos were homemade,, truffle fries and chicken and waffles were great. Eva, our server was friendly, professional and an absolute delight. She will be requested every time we go…. Bistro 303 is must for a great meal.
My wife and I dined in on a recent Friday. We shared the fried guacamole which was fabulous. Our server, Lauren was extremely knowledgeable on the menu. She ask great questions to guide us to our entree. My wife settled on the crab cakes which were mostly meat, with little filler. I had the prime double boned pork chop. It was seasoned and grilled perfectly to my liking and the relish provided a spicy and tasty kick. I look forward to the opportunity to dine here again. I will definitely ask for Lauren so she can guide me to another delicious dining experience.
This is a fantastic addition to the Tri-state area! The food was excellent. Lauren our server was fantastic 👏! She gave us her recommendations (I love when servers do this), then answered any questions we had about other items. 5 start food and service with a casual atmosphere. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone! 5+ stars from me!
I had the NY strip steak and the mashed potatoes, it was perfectly cooked and very delicious. My husband has the shrimp and filet tacos, he said they were delicious as well. Oysters in the half shell were prefect! Our server was Annabelle, she was so kind and patient and very attentive. I would 100% recommend. They even special made my father in law a loaded Bloody Mary.
The food and service are both fantastic. The specialty drinks were delicious. Prices really are reasonable for the amount and quality of food. The ambiance is very nice for a date night or special occasion.
Wonderful food, service and people! Fantastic place and owner gives back to his community. Love this restaurant!
Great food and service here. I wish I had known about it sooner. I sat at the bar since I was by myself. The stools are very comfortable. The service was fantastic! I wish I could recall the name of the man behind the bar. I had shrimp cocktail as a starter (massive and delicious shrimp) and steak with fries. Everything was perfectly prepared. I'll definitely be back.
We visited on Saturday for brunch. The building is large and decorated nicely. It is one of the most elegant restaurants around. They have plenty of seating options. You can sit at the bar, at a table, booth, or outside. They have the best ranch that I have ever tasted. The banana french toast was amazing and not too sweet. The grilled cheese burger was very good too, it wasn't overly seasoned and had a nice texture. The fries were crispy and delicious. The staff was warm and inviting. I knocked off one star only because coffee refills took a little while. I can't wait to come back and try more!
We've eaten here when it was a different name / owner & didn't realize it had changed. We were greeted and at a table promptly. Our server, Ava, was outstanding. Attentive, knowledgeable and just the right amount of friendliness. The music was a little loud and distracting . The restaurant is decorated very nicely and looks elegant. The bread and dipping sauce was delicious and I'm pretty sure it was inhaled before Ava even was away from our table! Our rice balls as our appetizer were amazing. Though I was with 2 die hard carnivores , I noticed they ate them pretty quick. No such luck getting them to try the balsamic brussel sprouts with bacon 🥓. .Too bad for me I got them all to myself. We received our appetizers pretty quickly, then waited over 45 minutes for our entrees. My dad and I ordered steaks and my hubs ordered Cajun chicken pasta. I know my dad's steak will always be tough since he orders medium well ( I know, I know. But there's no changing his mind). Mine was medium. Both were a little tough, though flavored very well. Sides of broccoli and mashed potatoes & baked beans and mashed potatoes rounded out our meals. Delicious. .. though would have been much better if not cold. Cajun pasta was hot and good; needs way more seasoning. The Cajun was on vacation. We will be back to try again. Hopefully we have a better meal. Thanks again to Ava for a magnificent job with our dinner.
Our first time here was on Mother's Day weekend...there were lots of large parties and we took that into consideration. The service was fantastic (Ava) and couldn't have been any better. The wait for our food was crazy long, like 2 hrs! But when it finally arrived, the Oscar style filet was rare (ordered medium) and was missing the Béarnaise. The Crème Brûlée cheesecake was amazing! We will have to revisit and give them another try
My wife and I finally had the opportunity to check out this local spot. It definitely gave off the “fine dining” vibes so when I found out about the Valentine’s Day special I figured it was time to check it out! It was very busy upon arrival as expected on Valentines Day and took a few minutes to be seated which is to be expected. We were shown to our table and ordered the V-Day special along with some wine and took in the restaurant. It is beautifully decorated and a nice atmosphere for an evening out. Our waitress was very professional and didn’t miss a beat. We were extremely satisfied with the service. Our food came and here’s the honest review. Bread was great. Dipping oil was seasoned well and was delicious. The lobster bisque was the highlight of our night and was to die for! The lobster tail was perfectly cooked and with the melted butter it was delicious. The baked potato was good but not really anything to talk about. It was a little underwhelming. Our side of Alfredo Pasta was also really good. The steak. Seasoned perfectly. Cooked perfectly. It was tough. It was a New York strip and I understand that for the price point it was “worth it”. I would have happily paid extra for a fillet. Just kinda needed a fillet. It’s a special night out. I’m fine with a strip if it’s tender. It just wasn’t. Dessert was delicious and we had an overall great evening. Spent some time at the bar afterwards and enjoyed an Old Fashioned with some Rye whisky and capped off a great evening. We will definitely be returning!
My husband and I ate here yesterday for a date night. The atmosphere is nice, the new ownership brightened the place up and it has a more polished appearance than the restaurant was under its previous name. The wait staff were very attentive and interactive. And the drinks were absolutely top-notch - perfect! Our calamari appetizer was wonderful. However, I felt that for the price, our dinner just did not meet expectations. We ordered the bacon-wrapped filet special with lobster tails - we ordered our steaks medium-rare. The steaks were medium-well and the bacon was cooked enough for safety but still soft. It was as if the chef did not use high enough heat. We did mention this and our waitress was apologetic, it was “fine” so we didn’t press to have our food re-cooked. We ordered dessert to-go and it was very good - they had a variety of dessert wines and mixed drinks as well. We will likely return again but maybe not order steak next time. The friendly patrons at the table next to us ordered a seafood pasta and it looked exceptional. This is a high class place for drinks, dessert, appetizers, seafood and probably lunch/brunch.
My wife and I made the trip from the south hills of Pittsburgh for Valentine's Day on Saturday after hearing great things. Unfortunately, it was a very underwhelming experience. When we arrived for our early dinner reservation at 4:00pm, which was made weeks ago, we were originally seated in the bar at a high top table. This was not what we booked, but we were originally told they didn't have anything else available even though there were many empty tables so early in the day. Fortunately, the hostess did come back and informed us that she could move us to a low top table. This one was better, but it was directly next to the front door. Again, this was a little strange given the number of empty tables at that time. When we were presented with the menu, we were expecting to receive the full menu that is shown on the website since there was no notice given when we booked or on the website that only a special, limited menu would be available this night. My wife ordered the surf and turf ($48) off the menu, and I had the bacon wrapped filet with lobster tail and crab ($68) described as a special that evening. We had the tuna appetizer ($13), which was good, and we both enjoyed the (very small) cup of lobster bisque ($9). We also added (very small) side salads ($6) to our meals. Appetizer, soup, and salad were all just fine, but certainly nothing particularly noteworthy. Entrees came quickly, but both of our steaks were moderately overcooked for medium rare. The lobster tail with my meal was definitely overcooked and quite difficult to eat since the meat wasn't properly separated from the tail prior to cooking. Much of the tail remained in the shell since it was so overcooked and difficult to eat. We would have informed our polite and cheerful waitress, but I do not recall her coming back to check on our entrees for quite some time. We decided to pass on dessert, and left feeling very underwhelmed after making the trek for what we hoped would be a special evening.
This was our first visit to the 303 and our experience wasn't terrible nor terrific. We were seated quickly which was nice and then the not so good started.. Every stage of our experience took too long and was off balance. First, it took awhile to get a waiter. We ordered an appetizer and drinks first. The appetizer actually came out quickly but drinks werent there yet. Our drinks came later and separately... Cosmopolitan first then 5-10 minutes later my bourbon.... It was way too long!!! Then waiter comes back to ask if we'd like an appetizer and our appetizer is sitting on the table?? Ok, 15 minutes later we order dinner. 25-30 minutes later my wife's dinner arrives and then 15 minutes or longer my dinner arrives. That was not enjoyable... Well, we wouldn't dare order dessert because of the crazy timeliness of this restaurant. Not 1 thing we ordered arrived at the same time! Drinks or dinners and it wasn't even close. Wait staff is pleasant but ours was inexperienced. Food was ok but difficult to enjoy a night out with the wife considering the untimelyness of EVERTHING... We wouldn't go here again for a date night. Not because of the food which was average+ but because of their coordination and timelines that was way off. Overa
I came here with some friends, as I have been talking about coming here for so long! We are seated, and it takes about 10 minutes for the waitress to come and get our drink orders. We order some appetizers because we got there at 5:30pm (happy hour is 4pm-6pm!) We also put in our entrees at the same time. Our appetizers came out promptly, but the waitress was gone for a good 15-20 minutes after that, so unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of happy hour anymore. Once our entrees did come out, they were cooked wrong. My husband ordered a burger well done, it was completely red in the middle, and our other friend ordered a burger medium, his was more cooked than my husband's. I ordered a cuban sandwich, and it was served to me upside down lol which is whatever, but the sandwich was so dry I ended up just asking for a box so I could add my own sauce to it at home. The wait between each time the waitress stopped by was a lot. We were there for 2.5 hours. Getting the bill to leave was another 20 minutes...I was so antsy by the time we left, and we weren't able to see a movie afterward like we had planned since we were here so long. Unfortunately the wait and the food quality makes me not want to come back.
This is the first time we have been here. We were going to go to Havana Nights and they were extremely busy so we came here, which was my second choice. We got a seat pretty quickly. It did take our sweet waitress time to get to us. Her name is Bella. It was not too awfully busy. She finally did and she got our drink and appetizer order. We did try to order the roast at the same time for both of us but was told right away they did not have it. So we asked for a menu and I ordered the grilled cheese burger which has bacon and my husband the turkey bacon melt and the waitress came back and said there was no bacon. So I said that was fine. Still no bacon though for the turkey bacon melt. They were going to make it without the bacon and I'm sure they would have charged full price, even though adding bacon to anything was a $2 up charge if it didn't have it on there already. So we settled on that and so here comes our poor waitress telling me there was no hamburger. So I had to choose something else. The only other thing I could even want at that point since my first two choices were not available was a $22 New York steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I told her medium well and asked for the baked beans instead of the potatoes. She went back and put my steak order in. So my original $13 burger turned into a $22 steak. She then comes back out mortified because she once again has to tell my husband that there was no turkey. He then chose the Cajun pasta. His $14 dollar turkey melt turned into a $24 pasta dish. I get my meal and I had 4 small broccoli florets. They were soggy and mushy but I ate them due to having no choice because my steak was burnt to a crisp and like leather. There was zero pink and it was like cutting sawdust. The chef, if that's what you want to call them, tried to hide the burnt bottom by putting it down on the plate. The baked beans. Lol this is where it gets comical... they honestly looked like they opened a can of generic baked beans and poured them in a saucepan and warmed them up. They didn't even look like Bushes baked beans. No seasoning, no onions or anything that would have given it flavor. I asked my poor waitress to please take my meal from the bill. I didn't eat the beans or the shoe leather. I did eat the broccoli and told her I can pay for that, which I did. $8 for four little soggy broccoli florets. I see a lot of good reviews, but I have to say that is not the experience we had. I felt terrible for Bella because she had to be the one to face us. She mentioned that a truck didnt show, but honestly I am not sure if that is true. Either way, the waitresses should be told what you dont have so they are not humiliated the way she looked like she felt. I went home with a little sliver of cheesecake. Gotta go... gotta go find real dinner! Edited to add: my cheesecake is raw at the bottom lol.
Day before V-day. The restaurant didn’t seem to be very busy. The hostess’s were very friendly and nice and we were sat very quickly. After that it turned bad. Service was super slow. Soup came out cold. Food was so unfavorable. Lobster tail was good. Steak was horrible. No flavor. No seasonings. Atmosphere was depressing. Nothing to decorate the tables. Just not a pleasurable experience.
I took my son and his father and grandchildren and few other family members to do a Fathers Day Dinner. Our service was awful! The waitress treated us very poorly, dumped water as she was poring it in my glass on my grandsons cell phone she never apologized for the mishap or said excuse me I will get that cleaned up. She brought my grandchildren’s food out then appetizers, Never addressed everyone on what drinks they would prefer. We waited 1 hour and 30 mins plus and still was not served our entrees. When we asked to just leave they said they would pay our bill. I said no thank you I do not want your charity we came to have a nice Farhers day dinner and my family was treated like trash by our waitress. The other man that worked in the restaurant and even spoke up and said he seen where many was getting served way before us. I would not recommend this waitress ever nor would I ever go back there with my family. God does not like judgemently people nor does God like people that are not kind and does not show hospitality. I pray for that waitress that she changes they way she treats people and gives service. Her $100.00 tip will be donated to a local church. Prayers for her.
