The food was fantastic, one of the best vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants I've tried. Their menu is quite large. The texture of the 'meat' Bun Cha Ha Noi was pleasing and all the other ingredients were fresh. They placed each outdoor table a good distance and had bottles of sanitizer on each table.
The House Specialty #37 Phù Chú Thang Long: Sizzling veggie fish w/dill served w/vermicelli & house SPECIAL sauce for $15.99 is absolutely Delicious! Our Favorite! Order it every time we visit. The Rice Dish #103 Còm Mom Chùng Và Rau: Steamed white w/fermented soybean path & Green herbs for $7.99 is to Die for! For Beverages #12K Nùóc Chanh Day (Tuý Mùa) Passion Fruit Drink (Seasonal) for $3.50 is absolutely yummy!,fresh! and not made with syrup! ;) Love this place. Fast service, delicious food and Vegetarian as a plus. Wish there were more around in the Inland Empire.
Excellent tasting vegetarian food ! Price is unbeatable and the presentation and ambiance is great. Highly recommend for even non vegetarians. Avg price per dish is a bargain at $10. Got the vegetarian clay pot fish, egg omelets with veggies, shaken beef, ham broccoli curry, sauted snow pea vegetable, fried mushroom, lemongrass chicken is a must A+++ . We sat at the corner round table.
This restaurant has such good quality and large varieties of delicious vegetarian Vietnamese dishes. Their bun bo hue is pretty good compared to most Vietnamese vegetarian restaurants around OC. If you're looking for delicious, high quality, vegetarian Vietnamese food with a great ambience, this is the place.
Absolutely fantastic! Flavorful food, inviting atmosphere, and friendly service. My favorite Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant! There’s a common misconception when people think “vegetarian”, they think bland and boring with limited options. However, this restaurant is the complete opposite of that.
An excellent food, nice place, fast and friendly service
The food is always delicious. Service is sometimes okay and sometimes great. Always a good atmosphere to take a friend, family, or for a date.
Absolutely so delicious! Menu is vegetarian but most is vegan. Everything was so tasty 😭
Delicious plant based food, great service and peaceful environment. We always try a variety of dishes and sometimes the same ones. The flavors are consistent and food is always amazing. Definitely not fast food and I’m grateful for that. Kid friendly and patience is welcome.
Thursday 1/30/25 Lunch at Bo De Trnh Tam Chay with my mother, aunt, uncle, and cousin. My aunt Sandy introduced me to this vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant. All the dishes were so good and reasonably priced. I’m not a vegetarian but with foods this good and great prices, I would come back to eat more vegetarian foods more often. The dishes were so flavorful and delicious! There are a large selection of dishes. Their menu is a book. It would take many visits to try all the dishes. So if you are a person who don’t research for new restaurants or follow me, this would be a restaurant to come back multiple times to try different dishes so you have new experiences with their flavorful dishes. The service staffs were attentive and worked hard and quickly to serve customers. The restaurant decors are of an elegance set up with beautiful flowers, bamboo structures, and paintings; very tranquil and relaxing environment. I recommend trying out this restaurant. This is without a doubt the best Vietnamese restaurant in the whole world. I lived in LA ten years ago. This place was 45 minutes from my house, still I went there every single weekend because it was worth the trip for me! I have moved out of LA and moved to two different continents within these ten years but I never forget about the food there. To this date, I still can never find a restaurant as good as Bo De. It's still my favorite Vietnamese restaurant.
Food are good. But the portion can be little more. Price slightly high. But still gave 5 stars for the server. She’s nice.
Food tastes close to the meat version. It's tasty. It's vegetarian, not Vegan. So eggs and milk is used here.
During our week-long vacation in CA, our friends invited us to dine at Bo De Tinh Tam restaurant. The cuisine was exceptional, the servers were very polite, and the ambiance was warm and cozy. The parking lot is spacious.
Love that everything on the menu is vegetarian. Interesting flavors in a cool environment. Bun Hue Noodle soup noodle and Bo Bia appetizer and 2 Vietnamese coffees was what we ordered. Everything was flavorful!
Have been here quite a few times. They offer great tasty Vietnamese vegan food. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a huge menu and lot to chose from. You can hardly go wrong here with any of the food. Definitely try their appetizers and fish items. Service was good. They are very friendly. They have ample space to sit and is well decorated. The food is inexpensive compared to other similar restaurants and their portions are pretty big. So be mindful of how much you order 😁.
I have eaten here for years, not often but enough. All their dishes are savory and well made. My favorite still the bo la lop. It’s better than most done with real meat and sauce. Must try.
I have mixed experience here because some dishes are good but some are not as much. Their Gỏi Mít (jackfruit salad) and Thai hotpot are really good, so I would recommend them. The rest of the foods are quite average. Service is okay, not the best but still good. The price is not bad, it's somewhere in the $20s after tax and tips
I love this place. I am a vegan and they have many options for me that are delicious and I always feel good after eating here. Their sausage is really good too, I haven't tried it since I've been vegan, so I haven't asked if it is also vegan. But the sausage is delicious! My daughter's are not vegetarian, they both had the chicken fa and they liked it a lot. I ate some too and I liked it. It was very good and not oversalted and the flavor was very nice. I tried the number 42 and I was very happy with it. I will be back again soon and I look forward to it!
I enjoyed how good the food was and everything was an option to eat. Service can be meh but i mostly go food food. Ambiance of the inside is a plus too
food was so yummy and the portions were huge! every dish we ordered was good and we got a bunch from different sections of the menu. most of the restaurant was filled with vietnamese customers so we knew the food was going to be good. the staff was also so friendly and attentive they replaced our fallen chopsticks within like 5 seconds of us dropping them and they heard from all the way across the restaurant? also they were just really nice the whole time and i’ve never had them replenish napkins faster than i’ve used them.
This is a great place to eat with your friends and family and for those that like to eat Vegan. It have a cozy and peaceful atmosphere
I loved this spot since we first met. Don't let the word vegetarian scare you. You need veggies in your life on the daily. Every entree has fresh vegetables. The faux meat is so good too. Honest. The dipping sauce will not disappoint. Today for lunch we ordered an appetizer that included a bag full of greens to wrap the food in. We also got the shaken beef and kung pao pork with green beans. Can't wait till this Covid b.s. to be over with. There were only 5 tables set up outside. So we just set up shop on my tail gate and had lunch at our parking spot right in front.

Excellent quality food and service at Bo De Vegetarian restaurant in Garden Grove California. They have a knack for getting all the right flavors and aroma of your traditional Vietnamese cuisine here. Enjoy an alternative perspective of old classics like Bun Hue and Curry chicken from the motherland of Vietnam.
I am a vegetarian and have tried many Vietnamese vegetarian restaurants in Little Saigon, Orange County, Southern California. Bo De Tinh Tam Chay is the best vegetarian restaurant in terms of really good foods, very large selection, price, nice decoration, cleanliness, and polite, friendly staff. What you need to know is avoid the "fake ingredients" like beef meet, chicken, shrimp etc. Just say "no Chinese ingredients / fake meat", they will use mushroom and tofu-related ingredients only. I can highly recommend this wonderful Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant, even to none-vegetarians!

Six hrs of driving home and had a craving for pho. Hue-style noodle soup hit the spot; good variety of soy protein "meat". The vegetarian spring rolls was a thumbs down--grated jicama, carrots and minimal mushroom (could barely see any) did not taste right, too soggy. Almost full house on Sunday night. Lots of laughter. The hot pot looked yummy!
This place is an institution for vegetarians in OC. It has been here for ages. Services can be hit and a lot of miss. If you come early then it will be better per my observation. I ordered to go most of the time so I can avoid the hassle plus the long wait for the foods. Prices wise, same as other veggies places. Menu is big with variety of dishes from appetizers, soups, salad, main courses, family courses, hot pot, to desserts. Foods are generally good to great here, especially with hot pot but others are good/great too. The decor has been the same for ages but somehow it works well for them…very calm and peacefully plus spacious.
This is one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants in OC. Their restaurant is clean with nice decor. Their menu offers so many items you will surely find something you like. All the food I have ever had here is delicious! I love that every dish has so much flavor. Their use of veggies and fruit is amazing. They have many drinks to choose from as well. The only problem I've ever had is the service. For one it is incredibly slow. I've always just chocked it up to their laid back vibe. But it is slow. And at times non existent. It's the food that always brings me back!
A diverse selection of vegetarian dishes, each crafted with vibrant, fresh vegetables, and herbs, celebrating the natural richness of plant-based cuisine.
I come here frequently because my husband and son love it. We are vegan so at least 80% of the menu is game. Yesterday we celebrated my son's 29th birthday here. Quick dinner. I love the fried mushrooms so I got 2 orders. I also like the tofu spring rolls, although they are kind of tough to bite through the clear wrap. Here are some pics of the food we got and when we left there was nothing left. 😁

Good food but service is not good, first time to come , when asked about that food it too much for the waiter to introduce too much food for a person .. (hotpot) ... when asked the waitress some thing She she did not come back ... I called for a long time without the bill, then I had to bring the bill to the service desk ... service in the way of the Vietnamese (tue 15 at night) not enough people for work, no one smile on the face ... very bad ...( no tips) need training the American way for the level of the restaurant to be able to bring more people Not just Vietnamese.... I went to Vegetarian Restaurant in Vietnam, everything is much better, very professional, delicious, clean..
I usually don’t write bad reviews, but the soup we received here tasted like burnt tire, as if something plastic had melted in the soup. The owner himself came out, did not taste the food, and said “That’s how Asian food is supposed to taste.” I asked him if we could order something else and he said “I can’t let everyone who doesn’t like the food here not pay.” These are direct quotes. Then he proceeded to force us to pay for it. In every other restaurant I’ve ever eaten at in Orange County, whenever I have a problem (which is infrequent), it’s immediately taken care of. Shame on this owner.
Took months to finally find this restaurant open for dine in. Finally, i got here and ordered three dishes. First dish was a Vietnam style sour soup which was rather bland. Second dish, a marinated fish, which was recommended by the server. The fish was salty and sweet at the same time. The 3rd dish was serve with chips. It was not appetizing at all. The chips were hard and the veggie meat bits has a dried hardened edge to them. Which means it was probably sitting out a while. I tried Au Lac with a very low expectations but we're pleasantly surprised. It's better veggie dishes than here.

⸻ My wife has been a vegetarian for over 10 years, and we have visited this restaurant many times. The older lady owner has always been very kind, calm, and welcoming, always greeting customers with a warm smile. We also often interacted with the younger woman working there, whom we later learned is the daughter-in-law. Both of them have always been extremely kind and respectful, and we never had any issues with them. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience today with the owner’s son. My wife called the restaurant ahead of time because we were in a time crunch. She politely asked if they could set up a table for three since we were about 10 minutes away and already knew what we wanted to order, just to save time. In the past, one of the women there had helped us do something similar. The man who answered the phone immediately said no in a very rude and irritated tone and insisted that no one there had ever done that before. Despite the uncomfortable phone call, we still went to the restaurant. We got a table and placed our order. Afterward, my wife politely mentioned to the older owner that the person who answered the phone earlier had been rude. At that point, her son came out from the back and said he was the one who answered the phone. Instead of calmly discussing it, he immediately accused my wife of lying and became very aggressive. My wife calmly explained that someone there had helped her before, but that it didn’t matter anymore since we were already there. She only wanted to point out that he shouldn’t speak so rudely to customers. Unfortunately, he escalated the situation. He began waving his arms and leaning toward my wife over his mother in a way that felt threatening. He loudly said he hates people who lie to him and that this is simply the way he speaks—people can accept it or leave. At one point he grabbed a water bottle from the table in a way that made the situation feel even more tense. His mother actually had to step in and push him away from my wife. As a husband standing there watching this happen, it was extremely upsetting. We came there simply to support their business and enjoy a vegetarian meal, not to be yelled at or accused of lying in front of everyone. What makes this especially disappointing is that this is a Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant filled with Buddha statues and symbols that represent peace, mindfulness, and kindness. Yet the son—who said he now runs the restaurant—displayed behavior that was the complete opposite of those values. We have always respected and supported this restaurant, which makes this experience even sadder. No customer should ever feel threatened or disrespected when they are simply trying to support a business. The way he spoke and acted toward my wife was deeply unsettling, and it raises serious concerns about how customers may be treated if a situation escalates further.
I’ve been a vegetarian for 10 years and have visited this restaurant many times. The older lady owner and her daughter-in-law have always been kind, calm, and welcoming, which is why I kept coming back. Unfortunately, today I had a very disturbing experience with the owner’s son. I called ahead because I was in a time crunch and politely asked if a table could be set for 3 since we were 10 minutes away and already knew what we wanted to order. Instead of responding politely, he spoke to me in a very rude and irritated tone. When I later mentioned this to the older owner, her son came out aggressively, accused me of lying, raised his voice, and used threatening body language. He leaned toward me, swung his arms, and grabbed a water bottle in a way that made me feel like he might throw it at me. I genuinely felt unsafe, and even his mother had to push him away from me. It was shocking to be treated this way when I came there simply to support their business. What makes it even more disappointing is that this is a Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant filled with Buddha statues symbolizing peace and compassion, yet the person who says he now runs the place behaved in a way that was the complete opposite of those values. No customer should ever feel threatened in a restaurant.
Rating for this restaurant should be -5 star. Incorrect dishes served. Small portions and poor taste foods for the price range. The cashier woman (owner) was totally rude and abusive to customers, especially to kids. Greedy and fraudulent restaurant contradicting a very nice restaurant name. Absolutely will not eat there again.
