It had been a while since I ate here. Drove by & stopped by to get a good old egg noodle house special (dry) bowl. Still great and good old memories flashed back. The place has not changed at all, still same old decor, same old set up, same old menu, and same old good tasty egg noodle. Just new staff and new prices are pretty it. Love their tép mỡ, which they generous given and the topping too. The egg noodles are just okey, not chewy, just okey. The both is good too but I like my dried so just a taste when I the chilies got to me. Staff are friendly, nice and very attentive so order and getting the foods are quite smoothly. Glad I stopped by for a good old bowl of noodle.
Shopped at the grocery near them and randomly found this gem. I ordered #10 and #39 only because those were the ones that had photos on the menu lol. #10 was the house special noodle soup with liver, heart. Shrimp, calamari etc. That was exceptionally good! Even the little toppings that add really brings out the flavor! #39 was the luc lac. Filet mignon on rice. The beef was so tender and tasted so good! Though I think meat to rice ratio is a bit lacking 😂 #35 House Special fried rice. Had the works. Roast pork, Chinese sausage, shrimp all mixed in. It was decent.
We usually prefer “pho” noodles house. This time, we decided to try something else. We are so glad we tried it! Huge portion and delicious! I accidentally ate half of my order (#20). It’s been more than 25 years that I had not eaten the bacon( “top mo”). It’s so delicious.
In a nice strip mall, easy parking, no wait, immediately seated. They have a large menu of Vietnamese noodle and rice dishes. I ordered pho xao thap cam, soft fried rice noodles with meats and seafood. Partner ordered a sea food noodle soup. Both are fresh, tasty, my fried noodle portion is almost twice as big as the same dish at Trieu Chau. Prices are comparable to other shops but portion are huge and food tasty, more authentic Vietnamese compared to Chinese or Cambodian houses I split a quarter of my plate to partner but struggled to finish the plate. Was so stuffed I wanted fall asleep Young waiter speaks English, was very polite and helpful . This shop is now my favorite noodle shop in all OC and LA, highly recommended. Update June 15, 2025 Still the best tasting pho xao thap cam with the biggest serving in So Cal. The woman chef does this soft fried pho noodle with just the right texture, squiggly, springy with smoky flavor and sesame oil aroma. Lots of proteins, shrimp, squid, lean pork, liver, fish balls ect with green vegetables. The sauce is just right, slightly sweet, sour, umami, served with a big bowl of the most delicious pork bone broth in California. I am a big eater but could only finish half of the serving, packed half to go like previous visits. This place serves excellent noodles, big portions with reasonable prices. I told the host to congratulate the chef, likely his mom or his wife.
The mi Vit Tim is pretty good here. Decent mom pop place.
It's my mom's and mine go-to mi place. Hung My Vi is way more low key which I appreciate. It's out of the way for me to come here, but I never regret it. I usually get mi hai san (below) and usually with broth. I do ask for "kho" some time but infrequently. I've dined in before and during COVID, as well as ordered ahead to pick up. I haven't had any issue any of the times I have been there. Parking can be a real ahem..hassle sometime but in general, there is ample parking though no one is using their eyes to drive but their stomachs.
Good food, fast service, and clean. This soup with dried duck is not the first time I tried, so based on my previous, I think the soup needs to have a bit more of the traditional medicine flavor
Great wonton noodle soup, soup or dry style! Very authentic! Not the cleanest place but the food is good and they are nice.
I love dried egg noodles/ rice noodles and this place met all of my expectations. The flavor is good, well seasoned. Service is fast and friendly. They also have some other courses which also was good such as sharky beef with rice. Definitely recommended and will come back here, hungry for more.
Food was delicious. The fried rice was the test.

We love this location for mi xao don , crispy fried egg noodle with seafood or whatever your choice of meat . The seafood is plentiful and the seasoning is perfect with the crispy noodles. ( The noodles are not the “birds nest “ style ) Their noodle in broth is also a favorite because they have a lot of the chunks of crispy pork fat, which makes it really flavorful.
tl,dr: hidden gem. Very good experience. Went with wife for dinner kinda late but they are super friendly (we visited one hour before they close). I ordered Roast Duck with Wonton noodles and wife ordered a House Special Wonton noodles. overall taste is good, well seasoned. portion is big for the price. We also ordered special mung bean drink which to be honest is perfect in my opinion. The floor is a little sticky but overall the place is free of trash and tables and chairs are clean. They also took $100 bill which is surprising to me since these type of restaurants usually doesn't accept bill bigger than $20. definitely a hidden gem. 5/5
We have been regular visitors of Hung My Vi, and our most recent visit has left us with a positive impression. My favorite go-to dish is the special dry noodle and wonton, while my husband loves the braised duck noodle. The special dry noodle and wonton comes with an abundance of green onions, chives, meat, organ meats, seafood, and a savory sauce, all served alongside a side of soup. The braised duck noodle, on the other hand, showcases a tender duck leg and dry shitake mushroom, immersed in a rich and flavorful broth, accompanied by pickled vegetables. However, one minor inconsistency we've noticed is that the portion of noodles tends to vary. Sometimes we receive a more generous serving, while other times it is slightly less, despite ordering the same small size bowl. During our most recent visit, we encountered newly hired servers who exuded energy and displayed a keen attention to detail. Their service was prompt and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Moreover, we find that the dishes at Hung My Vi are reasonably priced, offering good value for the quality and taste.
My son wanted roasted pork noodle soup and this place happened to be near. I ordered shaken beef and it was the best I had ever had. My son loved his noodle soup. Service and promp, direct and efficient, just the way I like it. Highly recommend.

yellow egg n white rice noodles were al dente, had nice chew n texture. The meat was well seasoned, the seafood was nicely blanched to showcase its texture. The bits of fried pork skin helped round the flavors of the dish. Condiments were a bit lacking compared to other noodle establishments
Got their mi kho dac biet. Their dry noodle combination special. Got the small for $10.22. it came with a soup and the noodles were good. Nothing crazy but flavorful enough to satisfy. Price wise, would go to the place on Westminster between Brookhurst and bushard called my vi mi gia even though I can't at all stand that place's owner and his attitude. I can say this though... The girl who works here, she deserves a great trip, super nice and attentive and does service right.Would I go back again? Maybe....if it's open when others aren't or if I want to dine in at a place that is low key with easy parking and a pretty much sure bet taste, yes. If for value when others are open, probably not.
Really good chinese ramen/mi dac biet kho! They are known for the egg noodle special which comes with thinly sliced pork, shrimp, fish cake and fried pork skin. If you come here order the dry/kho version! It's smothered in their special sauce and it comes w a side of broth. A small bowl is super filling due to the generous toppings. I love the bits of fried onion and pork skin that are sprinkled on top - elevates the dish soo much! This place also accepts credit cards which is awesome!
Food is good! If youre feeling noodles and duck . Restrooms are not that clean
I enjoyed my meal here. Service was quick and courteous.
I have “Mì đặc biệt” today and is very tasty. Customer service is great and food come out very fast even they are busy. This place locates in the same area with Thuan Phat market, next to the Vegan restaurant. Parking is plenty and save. Will come back to try other dishes soon. Thanks

Worse service ever. Sat there for 15 minutes, and no one would take my order. There was a table that came after us, and they got order. I was fine at the moment, no big deal. We Sat for another 10 mins and still nothing. 2 ladies walked in after, and 3 mins later, someone came and took their order. I'm like....are u serious? I felt like they just ignored me. I come here and eat all the time. I don't care how good their foods are, but if that's the way they services then I will never come back. We just stood up and left.
