I’ve been coming to the spice ship since I was 5 years old with my parents on a yearly holiday. Now (quite a bit) older, I bring my own family. Lovely food, friendly staff, lovely outside area for the kids still. A lot has changed over the years but still a lovely decorated pub inside and out.

Wow just wow. Never had such a fantastic Sunday Lunch. Was absolutely delicious. No skimping on food either. Couldn't finish it all. Definitely worth a visit. Will he back next Sunday before we go home. I would have given more stars if I could.

We have never had a bad meal and the staff are excellent but this evening was exceptionally outstanding. Both Miles and Millie couldn't have done more to make our evening any more pleasant. They are both excellent ambassadors for your company and I would appreciate you telling them both

Just had a roast dinner at the spice ship with family best we’ve had in a long time. Couldn’t fault the food or the staff , all very friendly and helpful. Will be returning soon.

Visited this lovely pub a couple of times during our stay in Weymouth. The interior has a cozy old world charm with a large parking area. The food was delicious and the staff friendly ,helpful and attentive . Would definitely recommend .

Had a lovely Sunday roast and they catered to my big family of 12 with 3 of them being in highchairs. Very understanding and accepting of the 3 children with autism that make a lot of happy noises. Definitely recommend and always come back here whenever we're on holiday. The roast dinner was stunning and the gravy was proper thick gravy. Children's play area was so good, they also enjoyed seeing the fire engine in the garden. Thank you so much to the waitress with red hair, I didn't manage to catch her name but she was fab

After a recommendation on social media we came here for a Sunday Roast dinner , we weren’t disappointed !!! Great tasting portions very spacious area very friendly staff at the bar and the pub restaurant , next time we are staying in Weymouth we will definitely go back .. there was also a converted pizza truck in the garden (closed when we went) .

We are on holiday in weymouth bay holiday park and went to the spice ship today for Sunday lunch. The food was great loads of it and tasty. The staff were amazing so friendly . Will definitely be back again before we go home

Visited on 27 Jul 25 for Sunday Lunch and couldn’t have been more happy. Friendly service, reasonable prices and really good quality home cooked food. We had the trio of meat Sunday lunch for £17.99 and were very happy - really good portion sizes, plenty of veg inc Swede, carrot, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese and certainly more than enough for those with big appetites. I’d recommend those who don’t have big appetites chose a normal roast or maybe even the child portion - I like to eat and the trio was more than enough for me. Daughter has chicken nugget meal and it was lovely big chunks of chicken, good portion of chips and baked beans. Beer and Cider were good and priced ok. Seriously can’t fault this place and would like to highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Big shout out to all the friendly staff, especially Miles who was an excellent ambassador for the pub. Thanks Spice Ship, 10/10.

Came to see friends on Saturday who were entertaining that evening. We stayed overnight in Room 6. Which was cute, cosy, clean, comfortable bed/pillows, modern small shower room with soft towels, toiletries & hairdryer. There was tea/coffee/water/biscuits too. Also a full length mirror & plenty of phone charge/socket points! We slept really well & then had a lovely full English breakfast. Staff were always friendly & welcoming. Dinner the previous evening was good too, with lots of options. I would definitely recommend The Spice Ship & definitely stay again. Thanks 🤩

Went for a Sunday roast had a kids meal as I can't eat big portions wow even a kids meal is so worth the money I highly recommend if your in Weymouth to call in here for a meal in a very cozy authentic old style pub

Wonderful service and great food! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals; with a special mention for the Chicken and Ham-hock pie and mash! Best dining out meals all week 👍

The food was excellent, and the staff were really helpful and pleasant. We had a really nice evening there, as did the dogs. Couldn't recommend it more!

went as a group of 6, arrived a bit late, no trouble, food was very good, well priced, super friendly staff and a lovely traditional pub, staff saked if we liked it could we write a review, it is the least i could do.

Old English charm. Good value rooms and well prepared meals. Very welcoming reception. Well worth a visit.

We stayed 4 nights in the lovely rooms Portland and Bowlease. Both have a dedicated entrance to the building that can be closed separately, which makes them perfectly suitable for families. Portland even has a little kitchen and a washing machine, just in case. Breakfast in the pub was typical English, if you prefer the continental way, options might be a bit limited. But just ask your host. They are very friendly and will try to accommodate you. In the evening you can have the typical pub food, pies, Mac&cheese, Burgers and the like. Made with love from the kitchen, for sure. We might be back, if we are again in the area.

Visited seaview on 5 occasions always head to Spice food fantastic beer spot on staff friendly would recommend we will be back in September for more Just been back again last two weeks spent several nights in there food fantastic again Sunday roast especially one of the best and filling I’ve had beer spot on atmosphere fantastic and friendly would highly recommend to any visitors to Weymouth

Good classic pub food with very good price point. Staff friendly and polite. Food hot and fresh.

Great, friendly pub with smart rooms. Best pub stay we have had. Our room was best one they have, with microwave, fridge, washing machine and full complement of cutlery etc. Large tv screen and wifi. Standard pub fare, but breakfast was a nice take on different options, freshly cooked to order. There is a bus stop right outside the pub with buses that will take you straight into Weymouth (and back again I guess). Good size car park and a large range of beers in the bar. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely stay here. The room was amazing and very clean and comfortable. The service excellent very welcoming. Food was great freshly cooked lots of flavour and a very well kept landlord ale. Thank you for a great experience. Highly recommended

11 of us visited the Spice Ship on 28th December 2025 for dinner. We really enjoyed our food, which was piping hot and very tasty. The Sunday roasts were particularly good and the staff did a great job of serving our group. The pub has a good sized car park and a playground in the beer garden. I'm looking forward to coming back to try the Fire Engine pizza!

What an amazing service. Above and beyond! Food was fantastic and truly plentiful! Value for money and true value for a fabulous meal. Highly recommend this venue as a MUST do. Won’t be regretting it! Well done to staff throughout.😁😁😁👏👏👏

Standard pub food, what we had was great: cottage pie, classic burger and Gammon. Large pub area with sport on TV, restaurant area at the back. I could see covered outside area for smoking/vapes with a pool table and TV.

Fabulous Sunday roast. Really generous portions, love that they provide extra gravy for the table! The staff team were really friendly and flexible with requests, even though they were really busy. Will be booking again soon, and coming back to enjoy the rest of the menu.

My parents, my partner and I wanted somewhere to eat a Sunday dinner, so we decided to try the spice ship! Absolutely the BEST decision we have made! The service was spot on, the food was delicious and the portion sizes on the meals where amazing. When the bill came I was expecting to pay over £100 but was pleased to see it was a lot cheaper especially how good the food was. Thank you very much! We have booked to go again tomorrow! Can't wait!

Had a great evening here to celebrate a family occasion. Nice and busy in the restaurant which created a lovely atmosphere. The servers were attentive and kept everything running smoothly. On top of that the food was wonderful. Thank you to all employees for making it a wonderful evening. ❤️

We didn't stay at the hotel but visited the pub for Sunday lunch. It was the nicest roast I've had at a pub. Generous portions, Lovely decor, friendly staff and decent price.

Came with family for the Sunday roast and was not disappointed, left fuller than a bulls bum. It was an afternoon of first's as it was the first time our daughter who suffers with autism had actually cleared her plate. The food, service, staff and venue were all fantastic....thank you all for a great day....

Booked for 14 of us to have Sunday roast . Everyone was really happy with the service and the food quality . Total value for money !! The booking was so easy as well . Didn't know if it would be a too large booking but there were no queries at all . Would recommend to anyone visiting weymouth and will definitely be visiting here again.

If your looking for a traditional pub feel then you will certainly find it here. Lovely warm, cosy atmosphere as you walk in, with a few locals dotted around as well as holiday makers. We were staying at the Haven seaview site and this pub is a 2-3 minute walk, down the hill. Good selection of drinks, food and also a kids menu. Very reasonable prices which was very welcome after paying the bar prices at the Haven site. Friendly and attentive staff serving good pub grub. Would certainly visit again .

This pub has a lovely atmosphere. But my medium steak was very tough and chewy. I wasn't given onion rings which were in description on menu. The steaks at wetherspoons are far better quality. My husband enjoyed his meal and the choice of beers. I deducted 1 star for the poor steak and 1 star for the missing onion rings.

First meal we had was spot on very good food and portions. Dog friendly Second time .... mains and starter brought out together. So we sent it back. Brought out starter it was wrong . Then brought out correct starter. It was not the same portion size has the last time. I was told it was a different chef. I was assured the mains were fresh when they brought them out. There were signs that they had been left under a lamp or reheated. Peas were dried out and cold the hot dog was dried out and tough. The bun had no taste and was hard. They gave a refund for the starters . But it spoilt our evening. We was there to celebrate a 75th birthday

Ordered a mixed grill for other half…steak was as tough as a boot…no flavour. I had “chefs” recommend steak….again chewy and zero flavour…crispy onions were soggy? Really disappointed as had food here (ok 4 years ago) it was stunning. Staff are great, pub has a great atmosphere though would NOT recommend for food

We booked a family room at this Hotel/Pub as a weekend getaway for my pregnant wife. We arrived to the hotel to found the room was not well ventilated, with loud noises to the bed's headboard which sounded like a motor. The only window was tiny, single-glazed, and facing a busy street. It was impossible for my pregnant wife to be able to sleep. The pictures on the website really did not represent what we found to be a poorly lid and poorly ventilated room. We took our concerns to the Manager on-site, Leoni, who has agreed with us, especially the fact noise from single-glazed window facing a busy street would not lend itself to anyone being able to sleep, let alone a pregnant woman. She promised us that the refund can be provided, but since it was through booking.com she told us to go contact them to request a full refund which she agreed she will oblige and honour it. We even went back to the hotel that night, to return the keys that we had accidentally held on to it, hoping that we could be on good terms and understanding so the room would be vacant for others. A month passes and after many emails with Booking.com and false promises from the Hotel to respond in writing to issue the refund, they have failed to do so. We have been ignored and we really feel let down by both Hotel management and Booking.com

Ordered cottage pie from menu, didn’t state it had cheese on the top and I couldn’t eat cheese so therefore didn’t eat my meal. Next time advertise what u put on ur meals on the menu so people don’t have this issue. Many thanks

1/10 - The pub and the staff in itself were absolutely lovely and it’s cosy and friendly but myself and my mum went for a roast dinner today, was really looking forward to it, booked it months ago, seen it had really good reviews but did not live up to expectations. Everything was pre sliced and pre packed, veg and potatoes cooked from frozen not fresh home cooked food. Everything was tasteless and a waste of money.
