Opinions de Ateaz Wichita Falls
We went for my birthday Saturday around 6pm. Jackie was our waitress, very fast service and kept our drinks full. Requested kids food to be put in with appetizers which was best choice. Very friendly even with how busy it was. Food was amazing.
Our waitress, Rachel, was absolutely amazing! It was our 1st time there and she recommended items and explained what they were. She was friendly, professional, and she has a fantastic personality! I recommend Johnny Carino's for a delicious meal and fun and knowledgeable waitresses/waiters.
We recently used Johnny Carino’s, Wichita Falls catering service for a socially distanced dinner at our church. I had worked with Brandi, General Manager, over the phone to plan the event, and she went above and beyond to meet the requests of our planning committee. She even had some suggestions of her own to make the guests of honor feel celebrated. We felt very safe with the protocols put in place in regards to how the food was prepared and served. The food was delicious, with generous portion sizes, and beautiful presentation. The wait staff attended to the guests’ needs promptly and with great courtesy. I am still receiving positive feedback from those who attended. We will definitely use Johnny Carino's for future events, and recommend this restaurant to others. Thank you, Johnny Carino’s for all you did to make our event special and memorable. On a side note, my family and I have always had great dine- in experiences as well. Beautiful atmosphere, great food, great service!
Held my end of season team dinner here and my sons graduation lunch all in one week! Team dinner we were taken care of and the 2 male waiters(hate to not catch their names) even brought out ice cream for all my girls!! Graduation lunch they were real understaffed, but Olga (bartender) did not hesitate to make sure we were well taken care of!. Don't let prices scare you, portions are huge!
Long overdue rave on the food and customer service at my local Carinos. The week before Christmas my family and I stopped in for a quick bite after a long day. It was (as you'd expect) insanely busy. But the level of care we received was exceptional. The service was fast, the food was great, and the manager made sure to stop by every table to make sure we were having a great experience. My husband and I both noted how impressed we were with the level of care we received on such a busy evening. Thanks again for making the hectic holiday season (in a pandemic!) a little easier.
Really nice place but way, AND I MEAN WAY, out of my price range. Had a free meal meeting event here and it's a great place but not on my budget.
The food was amazing and our waiter, Jacob, was the best server we have had in our 7 years in Texas!! Very friendly, attentive, professional, great attitude! The food portions were big and came out hot. Will definitely be back!
Christina, is the greatest. Confusion on our part but She made a special order for my mom the way she liked it. This was my first time at this location but I will be happy to return with my family. Service was the key. I highly recommend this restaurant if you live here or you are just visiting. The management here has it right. Way to go Sean!
Bought the lasagna, Italian nachos and salad. It was alot. Ordered for delivery and it was quick. We have ordered a few times and always delicious. Pizza is my favorite.
I pick up doordash orders. And they always have orders ready on time .Jimmy is great guy.
Great service! Jeffery was my waiter & the bartender and he was absolutely great! Very customer friendly and while busy in bar he never missed a beat. As a past server I always appreciate great service. Bathrooms clean and something don’t find lately. Food was great! Hot and came out fast
This restaurant was great, we were seated quickly. The food was amazing for is price, a delicious p pizza is $16 and lasted for 2 meals. Our waiter, Adam, was very polite and put your orders in perfectly. He was funny and charismatic. Overall, one of the best restaurants I've been to. P.S. the bathroom was well stocked and clean.
I have been going here for several years now and love it. Great food, great service. And even better memories. I tend to keep to myself but I still feel welcome each time. Jimmy is the type of manager that if something isn't right he will make it right as well. If you haven't tried these amazing dishes then reward your pallets and come taste it for yourselves.
The reviews almost scared us away, but we miss having a local Carino’s and decided to chance it. Our server, Olga, was friendly and attentive, and our food was exactly how we requested it and served promptly. I’d definitely come again!
Perfect place and quiet considering we went before dinner rush. Greeted with smiles. Seated quickly and no sticky table. New hired and he was great. Ordered drinks and I had special request which he gave to the bar keep. Ready to order and although it took a few seconds longer it was just to clarify the order. Food arrived and I had a reaction to some sauce. No ones fault and the waiter and head cook immediately helped and fixed the situation. This restaurant is clean and with music piped in. you feel relaxed. Prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of parking available.
Dinner was delicious. The service was excellent, great atmosphere. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The manager even made our drinks. We will definitely be back. Our family dined here yesterday for Mother's Day and I wanted to update my last review. It was even better than last time! Our server was on point. The food was absolutely delicious. There was a small wait to be seated but the manager kept us updated and seated us quickly. From the bread and oil to the tiramisu we had for dessert the meal was a great experience. Thank you Johnny Carinos for making our day so special.
Classy aesthetics, good food and drinks, and prices are fair. Decent parking. ((UPDATE)) Recently went back to Johnny Carino's and enjoyed dining inside even better than last time. Service was great, food came out fast and was great, drink was never empty, lots of parking, wait time to be seated didn't take long at all, overall experience was great! 👍🏻 I will definitely be coming back.
The bread at the table was so warm and good! Served with olive oil for dipping, which was also flavored & good! I had the chicken parm sandwich with came hot & yummy. My friend ordered a build your own pasta, which she also said was good but the meat sauce was a tad spicy (which never hurts my feelings). I will return!
Decided to come here for date night dinner and wasn't disappointed at all. The food was fantastic, our server was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and quite. We got 2 entrees which I personally think were great. I ordered a alcoholic lemonade which I personally didn't like, thankfully my girlfriend did like it tho. The drink wasn't bad by any means it simply wasn't what I was expecting as the flavors were more mellow than I'm used to with the hint of mint added to it being over powering me who doesn't like mint but a added bonus for my girlfriend who loves it. My favorite item I ordered here was by far the tiramisu you've got to try it it's incredible. I definitely will be returning as I'm really interested to try the pizza there.
The location in my city closed down. Me and my wife were passing through and saw this one was open so we had to stop. Service was good. Delicious as I can remember the food. It's been 2 years since I've had this Johnny's combo. So good. So cheesy. Cooked perfectly. We definitely have to make it back here.
Olga is our bar tender. She is a hard working employee. She waits on all the bar and helps everyone else in the whole restrauant. Tonight she was running and keeping up with everything. Never waited for a drink. The pizza is the best in town. We love the atmosphere, food, and wait staff.
Went for lunch . They have a good selection of options from the lunch menu . I went for the chicken parmesan with spaghetti 🍝 . Oh and they have bread and olive oil . Delicious
Tried to pick something other then basic Olive Garden and was extremely satisfied. Got there around 0845, was pretty empty. The waitress was so friendly and helpful very fast service. We had the mozzarella sticks for the appetizer they were great. For the main dishes was the Spicy chicken and shrimp just changed the dried tomatoes for real trust me try it!!!!😍 The other dish was the Chicken Parmesan Penne Festival yes again truly recommend. 👌 I can not wait to come back to Wichita Falls again just to come back. But if you happen to be around here are some recommendations👆. Along with some excellent staff.
I was late getting in. About 20 minutes before closing time, and on my own. Service was great. I have never had a better house salad. The Shrimp Scampi was one of the best if not the # 1 best, and I believe my mother in law would have been pleased. She was full blood Italian. The Cheesecake was excellent. Did I mention that the service was excellent. Presentation and Atmosphete were wonderful. Already looking for locations that I travel and there are 3 in Oklahoma, so I will be hunting them down. First time a restaurant ever got all high marks from me. Thanks to the restaurant and will definitely be back. JACK L. WOOD.
The Chicken Parm was elite! The crust was crispy and not soggy like most restaurants. The portions were more than plenty. Our waiter, Adam, was the cherry on top of our excellent experience. I just regret that I haven't been there sooner. Definitely earned a repeat customer!
Great food! Great service!!!! The server, Amanda, was super nice and her suggestion was perfect (Chicken Scaloppini). Our drinks never got close to empty... and she was busy! The Mgr came by and checked on us. It was really great!
So we were those horrible people that come 35 min before close. Our server Samuel S was VERY welcoming and attentive. We never felt rushed . He was friendly and on top of all service needs!!! Food was outstanding!! Don't know why our corrinos didn't make it back home! Will come every time we pass through!!!
The food was good, but man, do they need to get more servers. Our waiter was doing his best, but he had the whole restaurant it seemed. A server shouldn't have to apologize the whole service because he is so overwhelmed. The food was good, but be prepared to be there for 2+ hours. For only 2 people, 2+ hours was really long, especially for a kiddo.
I had never dined here. This review is based off a one-time visit! My 3 friends and myself decided to dine in for our Galentines date. We all had different orders. The evening we dined in they were extremely busy. I had a chicken Parmigian over rigatoni in a pancetta cream sauce. It was wonderful and the portion was giant! I also had a Ceasar salad and it was good too! My friends ordered chicken marsala and lobster ravioli. Both portions were very generous and they had salads too. One friend order a dressing for her salad, tried it, disliked it, and the waiter was kind and fixed her a new salad with different dressing. The waiter never made a fuss about it and was very attentive during the entire meal. Our drinks never ran low and when we asked for more bread and dipping oil; he presented it when it came out of the oven. I would definitely dine here again. It was a good experience!
One plate of chicken perfectly prepared and delicious the other plate you couldn't cut the chicken with a knife.
I enjoyed the new special with the steak, ravioli, and appetizer. For the price I enjoyed the meal. Service was good. The waiter forgot some details on the ordering, yet he never wrote our orders down. Just small details that could have made the experience better.
If you’re in the mood for some hearty Italian cuisine, Johnny Carino’s in Wichita Falls is a solid choice. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner or a family outing. Food: The menu is extensive, featuring classic dishes like their signature Chicken Scallopini and delicious pastas. I tried the Spaghetti with Meatballs, and it was flavorful with generous portions. The bread served at the start was also a highlight—fresh and perfectly paired with their garlic dipping oil. Service: The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, which enhanced our dining experience. Ambiance: The decor strikes a nice balance between rustic and modern, creating a cozy vibe. Whether you’re sitting indoors or on the patio, the setting feels relaxed and welcoming. Overall: Johnny Carino’s is a reliable spot for Italian comfort food in Wichita Falls. With its decent prices, good service, and tasty offerings, it’s worth a visit if you’re craving a taste of Italy.
Endless salad was excellent. Peach bellini and sangria great as usual. Boneless wings were pretty good. Calamari was a bit underdone. Atmosphere -music was a bit to loud. The cooks you could hear laughing and having a good ole time in their open concept kitchen.
Tonight we gave this place another try. I used my bday free entrée coupon. We got 2 of their thin crust pizzas, they have a different $5 thin crust pizza everyday. Today it was the pepperoni, my grandson got it & loved it!! Our with more toppings were okay, pretty soggy in the middle, maybe better distribution of toppings, like out further to the edges, would solve that problem? We have always loved the food, it's the service that is lacking
The price is way too expensive for the quality of the food and general experience within the restaurant. The calamari was delicious and the tortellini was solid, but everything else we ate (the lasagna, spaghetti, chicken parmesiano) was middling at best. The tables are also way too high. I had to sit on my foot just so that I could eat my food somewhat comfortably. I felt like a child trying to reach my plate. Would not recommend to anyone. The service was good, but we were literally the only ones in the restaurant. My guess is everyone else already knows this place isn't worth the money.
The wait staff was wonderful. We were served in a timely fashion. The food was good. But the prices (for me on a fixed budget) we’re extremely high. My bill for an entree and a drink, plus tip was almost $40. That’s a bit much. I’ll stick to Olive Garden. Sorry Johnny.
Went to Carino’s for the first time with my 11yr old and did not feel I received the best treatment. Maybe because I’m Latin, maybe because I was not in a big group, maybe because I was not with a man… whatever it was I felt like other clients around me were getting full attention while I had to turn my head a few times to ask for a napkin or to ask for Parmesan on top of my pasta. I don’t think I’ll visit again, food was good but not great.
The restaurant was not crowded. We almost thought it was closed. It was just a short walk from our motel. The server wasn't very attentative. The plates that were brought out for our bread were dirty. The server did replace the plates with clean ones. The salad and Italian nachos were very good. The calamari was all clumped together. I didn't care for the Mozzarella cheese sticks. They were too big and had a lot of breading. The cheese didn't melt very well. All in all, it was just an ok experience.
Overpriced. In my opinion. Service was great. But my Fettuccine Alfredo was one of the saltiest meals I've ever eaten. I love salt. This was way over the top. Had not been there for a while, and doubt I'll be back unless I forget.
The service started off great. Our waitress was friendly, but started to get very frantic halfway through our dining experience. The calamari was good, but I would recommend getting a full order. I got the lemon Rosemary chicken. The chicken itself was very tender and juicy, but the noodles were swimming in water which was very unappetizing. I expected more of a cream sauce so I think the noodles were never drained before going into the sauce. My significant other had a pizza, which was burned the first time around. The second pizza was gooey, but better after we put it in the air fryer at home. Altogether a mediocre experience.
Atmosphere was fine. Server was pleasant. Not a fan of the meat or bread on the chicken club sandwich. & You have to pay extra to get chicken with your fettuccine. Basically, 16 bucks for sauce and noodles. Won't return
So excited, then so disappointed! Had eaten at one in east TN several times and it was always so good! When I saw one close to my hotel here in TX, I was very excited. The place was pretty empty at peak dinner hours, but I didn’t let that slow me down. The service was fantastic! I ordered the wedge salad (which was a favorite from the one in TN) and the spaghetti dinner which comes with meatballs and Italian sausage. The salad was good. It was smaller than I remember, but I took the recent challenges with restaurants into consideration. The meat in the entrée was really terrible. Really bad flavor and texture. I left most of it behind and went back to my room really disappointed.
The mozzarella sticks were the highlight of the meal. Now for the rest… bread was stale and the chicken and Alfredo sauce (if you want to call it that) were very bland. The Alfredo didn’t taste or look like Alfredo. It was more buttery than creamy and very sticky. Taste is similar to the frozen pasta Viola not Italian food. If I hadn’t requested the mushrooms it would have had no flavor. The manager compt the main course so I left 3 stars. The server was decent but I still had an empty glass.
We went for the special, service was great the food wasn't! The salad and Italian nachos were good, the steak was way under cooked the first time,we sent it back and the cook burned them! We ordered medium well and the ticket said well done! We will NOT go back and we don't recommend the place to anyone unless they like tough, raw steak!
Food was not that great. Service was extremely slow.
Floor was sticky, menus had cleaner film on them. Mozzarella sticks had promise but it seemed the fryer was set too low as they were oily and not due to the cheese. Pizza came out white and not golden brown and after sending it back my wife said it tasted like sour moth balls. Put some love into your food please. Fresher is better.
The service was good. The restaurant was clean and relaxing. The food was awful. We had pizza which was caked with flour and tasteless. A frozen pizza would have been preferable. The "Alfredo" sauce was basically lumps of congealed cheese and inedible. Lesson learned - If the parking lot is empty while everywhere else is packed ....it's for good reason.
I would not recommend this place for lunch. The food is great but if you like most everyone else has a hour for lunch do not go here. I arrived and was seated quickly as the restaurant had maybe 5 tables seated. Waitress was nice and we placed our orders quickly. That was at 12:00p. I had checked with our waitress about 35 minutes later just to touch base because like I said, there were about 5 other tables seated and 4 of them already had food. She said that the kitchen is just running behind. This was at 12:35p. When the food still had not arrived at 12:50p, I went ahead and asked our waitress to either delete the order or if they are actually done to bag it for to go. She apologized but that was it. No effort was made on her part to correct the situation. I have a hard time understanding how a commercial restaurant at lunch with only 5 tables would take an hour to make lasagna and chicken alfredo. You are better off going to Olive Garden unless you get the luxury of a 2 hour lunch.
Got there around 1:00 PM. Stood there at least 5 minutes before finally sitting us down. Only perhaps 6 tables of customers in the entire restaurant. When waitress asked us what to drink, still took another 5 minutes. Took another 5 minutes for her to bring over perhaps 4 sweet and lows. The food was ok. Won't be going back
I will say that without a doubt our server was awesome. She did absolutely everything she could to make our night better. That said, our food wasn't very good at all. Maybe it's just my taste in food but I wasn't impressed at all. The restaurant itself seemed very bare and lacking. Overall I can say that we won't be back.
Let me preface this review by saying we had not dined at this establishment in over a year. We went here around 1pm on a Saturday. The nearly empty parking lot should have been the first Red Flag. After being seated, the waitress brought the usual bread and olive oil/roasted garlic dip. Well, not quite. Only a half piece of bread and one dip for two people. I asked the waitress about it and she said the manager says that is how it is to be. Personally, I didn't mind sharing the dip, but if I was not in a relationship with my dinning partner, I would not want to share a tiny piece of bread and a single garlic dip. Now, what bread you did get was disgusting. The normal garlic sprinkle on the top was PURE SALT. You had to scrape/wipe off the top of the bread to make it edible. The house salad was another point of contention. There were MAYBE two measly tablespoons of dressing for a rather generously sized salad. Definitely NOT enough dressing. Another cost cutting measure I am sure. On the plus side, the entrees themselves were quite tasty, and had enough pasta in them for two people. Neither of us could finish the dishes. Our waitress was very helpful and we cannot fault her for anything. All-in-all it was not the most pleasant dining experience. Next time when we see a nearly empty parking lot during peak hours on a weekend, we will pass the establishment by.
My husband had Feduchi w/chicken and it was barely edible. I had the cheese tortellini w Alfredo sauce. My was okay. I had left overs, and my husband ate them later. We got a tiriamisu for desert, and it had very little taste.
Service was wonderful, but a thin and crispy pizza should be crispy… not chewy and soft. Dad’s chicken bacon ranch had 2 tiny pieces of bacon in it and was also chewy. The pizza guy needs to either be retrained or needs to slow down. No reason to send out sub par food when there are less than 10 customers in the restaurant. Maybe that’s why there are less than 10 customers at lunch time on a Saturday. Oh well, there are other places to go. 7/13/24 11:30am
When we arrived at lunch time, it was evident that something wasn't right. Every other restaurant on the highway had a full parking lot. We've been a fan of Johnny's for years in Ft Worth and just thought that maybe it was a bad time for this location. We were wrong. The server was the first sign that showed things weren't going to be up to our past experiences as she wasn't familiar enough with the menu to answer basic questions. 3 of our group of 4 ordered something using spaghetti pasta. The pasta was a medium quality and was overcooked. (For these prices, I would expect a higher end pasta or pasta cooked al dente. My grandson can cook this quality of pasta to al dente and he's only 14!) While the sauces were decent enough, the store has lost the $20 Parmesan graters and forced servers to use a $5 cheese plane. It results in a lot more time over your dish if the server isn't either strong or experienced enough to get a good production out of each pass. I'm not sure if the store lost the traditional grinders for the location or won't buy replacements. But, the dispensers for salt and pepper weren't normal for even a mid-level Italian restaurant. Overall, the experience left me disappointed. We may be spoiled by getting what we pay for in DFW. But, as this is part of a chain, this should have been a consistent experience. It was far below what Carino's has been in our experience.
The pasta dish tasted okay. The salad was forgotten by the server. The restaurant was not crowded, The waitress did not care enough to do her job. She delivered the pasta and I asked about the salad, she offered to bring the salad then. Great idea, I'll eat my salad while my pasta sits here getting cold. Twenty five bucks for a bowl of pasta is excessive. This was my experience on early Sunday evening. I won't be going back. I really do hope you have a better experience.
Noticed they’re never busy anymore. Ate there again last night for the first time in a while and understand why. Food is Ehh at best, terrible chicken and steak, lasagna feels like Stouffers does a better job. Nachos were the only good thing. Service was awful. Bill for 4 was $170!! Won’t eat here again
Update for the owner: Thank you but not interested in returning. The dishes were pepperoni pizza, bowtie festival, chx classic fett, chicken marsala. We have never been to a Johnny Carino’s before so while in Wichita Falls, we decided to try something new. It was just after lunchtime and the place was nearly empty. There were only two servers that we saw, and one server was also working at the bar. Surprisingly, service was ok even though we were on the side where the server was also the bartender. The food was just ok. The Italian salad dressing was a little spicy – which I have never had a spicy Italian dressing; it was unexpected and strange. Also, the salad had onions which the server neglected to mention when asked what was in the house salad. We ordered three pasta dishes, one pizza, and four soft drinks. The pizza appeared to be the best thing on the menu. The chicken in our pasta was not fresh – some sort of precut processed meat that was tasteless and tough. Mushrooms were overcooked and soggy and the sauces on each pasta dish had little to no flavor. Johnny Carino’s was an expensive ($130 before tip) mistake.
I always go out of my way home from Denton to make sure we keep Carino’s alive. I normally have a great experience. I ordered online this time so it was ready for me to grab. I ordered 35 minutes in advance and it said it would be ready in 17. I got there and was directed to the bar to pick up the food. I heard her talking about how annoying it was to make so much bread (we love the garlic olive oil dip and we only get it a couple of times a year). I waited there about 10 minutes for the order and had only 3 small cups of olive oil for 6 loaves of bread, one of which didn’t have the lid on and spilled all over my hands and our food. Doesn’t really make me want to go 30 minutes out of my way to spend $100 for a meal for 3 again.
Its been about five years since I'd been here, decided to check it out again. There were about five other tables and some folks at the bar. Waited around 20 minutes to order because our waitress was nowhere to be found. ~15 minutes later we got our salads, and another ~15 minutes later we got our entries (I think we were here for well over an hour). My food looked a lot better than it tasted (not bad...edible, but not great). My daughter's chicken fettuccine had hardly any Alfredo sauce and definitely not enough chicken for the upcharge. Had no idea that drinks were $10+ a piece. Everything was so expensive and this place is certainly not fancy enough to charge the prices they charge. Maybe we'll see again in another 5 years.
With the place barely half-full we waiting 57 minutes for our food from the time we ordered. At one point I grabbed a water pitcher myself and filled drinks because the waitress was nowhere to be found. Currently waiting for the side of dressing I asked for 15 minutes ago to go with the salad that’s already finished. Not sure how staffing/management can be so poor on a Saturday night. Will not be returning.
This place has went down hill they have the bartender making drinks and serving customers. 10.00 margarita had no flavor. The appetizer took forever to come out , it was cold when it came out. The complimentary bread was out the whole time , we received one then half of one when asked for more. Our food took 45 mins to come out , mine was undercooked with no sauce my wife ordered classic fettuccine paid extra for shrimp it had 6 pieces of shrimp. When we looked at the kitchen as we were leaving it looked filthy. If you plan on going to this place don’t. Till they get their stuff together again. The one good thing was our waitress was trying her best but it don’t help her when the cooks don’t care what they put out. Also don’t order the calamari it was very stinky.
Food was cold after waiting an hour. Wings were raw, noodles were not cooked all the way. Only received refills twice in the two hours we were there. Waitress had an attitude like we were an inconvenience to her. All in all worst experience. I would give ZERO stars but not able to.
Very disappointed. We order work lunches here often. They use to give you half a chicken with the rosemary chicken and a full piece of bread. Today I receive 2 very small pieces of chicken and a piece of bread that was only about 1" long. The chicken didn't even taste of rosemary just grilled plain chicken. For the $32.00 I spent I would expect better. We will be finding a different Italian spot to order from.
My parents went to celebrate their anniversary and we're excited to go. My Dad is on oxygen and his portable needed to be plugged in, so they requested a table near a wall outlet. The server informed them that they had to sit in his section, which consisted of two tables, and there were no outlets. Very rude and outrageous, considering that most of the restaurants seats were empty.
Family and I went here for dinner while on vacation, left disappointed! Our waitress,Maggie, failed to let us know they charge 50 cents for each ranch, looked disgusted for anything we asked her for our table and tried to charge for an extra drink. Their Alfredo tastes like it came out of jar and all of our pizzas were burnt. Not once was we asked how we were doing or how the food was after we were served. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
This was my first time there. We had 6 in our party. The server TAYLOR was terrible!!! She only brought our drinks and bread out and the rest of it was brought out by someone different. She didn't really pay attention to our table at all!! She was too focused on a table that had children. Not sure if she knew them or not, but regardless you shouldn't give one table precedence over the other!! The food was brought out and I didn't get mine until 5 minutes later. Never told me why until they brought my food out and it was brought out by the manager or supervisor, whatever she was. I should have been told why when all the other food was brought out!! The only good server I saw was a black guy with dreads. He ran circles around our waitress hands down. I will not go back to this place!!
Had a long piece of saran wrap in my spaghetti. The waitress took it back and came back with a new plate and an explanation from the manager that the plastic came off of their lasagna. The manager never came to speak with us. The waitress did a good job. The pizza we had was good, the spaghetti wasn't great, the first or the second. Seems like this place is going downhill. I hate it because we use to prefer it over Olive Garden.
Service was good food absolutely was horrible the food was cold and tasted like a cheap microvable meal
2nd time here in 1.5 mos. Food is tasty - had Mama's plate spaghetti - sausage was blackened on one end. Server was 'out to lunch' (no pun intended) : no bread/oil, forgot which wine was ordered - Chianti, wrong wing order... Not crowded on a Fri night during dinner hours. Music allowed for conversation.
I recently took my four-year-old special needs son to Johnny Carino's, hoping for a pleasant meal. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but. When I tried to order a kids meal for my son, the waitress named Amanda rudely told me he was too old for it, despite him clearly being within the appropriate age range. To make matters worse, she then proceeded to make jokes about us with the manager right in front of us, showing a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially towards a child with special needs. I am deeply disappointed and will not be returning.
Service was great, our servier was so attentive, fast and communicated with us every step of the way. The food was meh for how much it cost. Definitely do NOT get the artichoke spaghetti. I decided to be adventurous and try it out, it was not good. They only had ranch and house Blu cheese when I came through for the house salad. The free bread was pretty good, and the wings were very crispy (in a good way).
So on 2-27-2025 I place an online order to be picked up. I get there and the girl answered the phone and hung up. So then I calls back she answered the phone I say I’m here to pick up my order she says I will get to when I can! So I go in to talk with the manager he acts like he doesn’t care. So then the girl that answered the phone comes from the bar and tries to say she say that she said something totally different. I told the manager do you think I would get out my car if she was said that!
While we were waiting for our food, I was observing and saw one of the cooks not wearing gloves and he was in between playing on his phone and then putting croutons on peoples salads. They talked to him after I said something, but he continued on not wearing gloves. I lost my appetite and didn’t want to eat, but my kids really were hungry so we stayed. $80 dollars later, I hope they don’t end up with some kind of food poisoning. All in all, we won’t be back.
I had a very unpleasant experience at Johnny Carino's due to the behavior of a waitress named Amanda. She was extremely rude and made several inappropriate comments that came across as racist. Her attitude was unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable throughout our meal. It's unacceptable for any establishment to have staff members who treat customers this way. I hope the management takes this issue seriously and addresses it promptly. It’s people like her that will make this establishment go out of business.
We were going to have their pasta and steak special. Go there and waited 15 minutes with no service. Not even a glass of water or any eye contact . No acknowledgement. We came here back in April and it was real good. Guess we'll go elsewhere.
I think this is literally the first time I have ever pushed away a pizza. The waitress was in a pissed off mood the moment we walked in. Don't waste your money the lasagna tasted like a frozen Stoffer's lasagna from the grocery store, the flat bread pizza was dangerously undercooked and the spaghetti was so tough you couldn't chew it... Definitely not worth the $67 dollars I spent.
The service & overall condition of this Johnny Carino's in Wichita isFalls to be honest disappointing & terrible. Trash on all the tables, spills on the floors not being tended to, tables dirty. When our food was brought to us we ask for silverware & after waiting about 10 minutes the waitress brought us plastic forks and told us they ran out of silverware!
Don't go here if you want a nice dining experience. Ordered a bar drink, and it was not good at all and didn't look like the picture. So we sent it back and tried another simple, bar drink. It tasted like cough syrup. When the bill came and we saw the drink charge and inquired about it, the waitress immediately sent the general manager over. He was rude and combative, and told us It doesn't matter if we didn't drink it, we had to pay for it. How ridiculous. Overall, the appetizer was odd tasting, bar drinks horrible, entree was good and service was revolting. We were the only dining table in there, and now I can see why. I certainly won't be going back.
Addition to previous review: for anyone looking for fantastic cheesecake I've always recommended to get the 1 here. At just over $9 after tax it's steep but delicious. I just arrived home with my order of cheesecake however to find it to literally be the size of 2 large bites. When I called they informed me that they recently reduced the size of their cheesecake but not the price. Picture included with fortune cookie for scale from panda express who I have to say filled our packages to the brim and did not hold back. BRAVO! I've been a long time fan of this restaurant which is why is pains me to say that I think last night was the last time I'll be visiting it. After finding multiple center peices of heads of lettuce in 1 salad, having stale bread and waiting for (no exaggeration) 1 hour for our food I requested it just be boxed up to take home and paid the $78 for our ticket. Then to get it home and find that the order was incorrect and 1 dish seemed like it had sat for an extra day (lasagna) it went into the trash. Not once did a manager approach the table, even after requesting the food to be boxed up after waiting over 1 hr with no food. 🤷♂️ the server was very polite and friendly but clearly doesn't have the support she needs to from the other areas.
Went in last night on my birthday and I will NEVER go here again. We got our salads and had to wait around on silverware for a while. The chicken Alfredo tasted watery, like dish water. Super nasty. My husband had coke zero and they gave him regular coke. (I know it’s something small but if he was diabetic this could’ve gone completely wrong) I had a birthday coupon for a free entree and the manager made me forward it to him, even though there was a code he could’ve just typed into their POS, and the manager had a bad attitude. I know it was a Friday night and I’m sure everyone was wanting to just get out of there but that was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had.
I do not recommend this restaurant at all. With only one person ahead of me to be seated in what appeared to be an empty restaurant, my family and I waited awhile to be seated for starters. While we were being seated, in the process of walking to the table, the waitress asked for our drink order. I had planned on ordering an alcoholic beverage but needed to look at the menu first so we just ordered water to start. There were dirty menus on the table already. We ended up ordering an appetizer, the fried ravioli, my husband a "bottle beer" and myself a Bellini. The appetizer came, four little ravioli, not much for the price. His beer came, it was the wrong brand. His beer came again, in a "mug". He reminded her about the bottle for next time, just happy to have his brand. My Bellini took a while and when it came she told me mine was the last one of the night, that they ran out! This was so odd. I did make a visit to the restroom and my husband the men's, both were dirty. The floor on the way to the bathroom was sticky and you could hear your shoes sticking to the floor as you walked. The people that finally came in and were seated next to us couldn't get any kind of service either. It appears either this business can't find people to work or they are near closing to me.
So sad. I ordered the peach Bellini, and although it looked nothing like the picture, I gave it a go. It was not good. I requested a substitute drink and got the Featured raspberry lemonade. It came out and tasted like cough syrup; how unfortunate. I sent it back and decided maybe this wasn't the place for a cocktail. It was no big deal. My night was not ruined. The food came out and was pretty good. My wife and I decided to share an entree, and the cook split it into two portions. How wonderful. The experience wasn't great to this point, but it wasn't horrible. The check came and I saw the second drink I had sent back. I assumed it was just a mistake, so I asked the server why there would be an item on my check that I didn't consume. She said let me get the manager. The general manager came over to speak with us and led by saying we don't remove Alcohol from the check. I pleaded. I took only a sip, and the drink was not good. Why would I pay for something I did not consume? He said we could switch it for something else, and I replied. I tried two, and it was clear that either your bartender was not doing something correctly or your recipes were flawed. I don't wish to try anything else, and I also wish not to pay for something I didn't consume. His reply was sorry we don't remove Alcohol from a guest check consumed or not. Needless to say forcing a customer to pay for something they didn't consume is a no no. I see why the place was empty. Haven't been back in a while and do not intend to return. I can't fathom a place staying open for much longer with horrible food and management style like that.
I know all my neighbors and friends here in Wichita Falls got the Johnny Carino's bread bag coupon in the mail the other day. Let me save you at least $5 and time... DO NOT BOTHER! We got there at 6:35 and it wasn't busy except in the bar area. I know why. We didn't have any issues with service but it was just lackluster. The table top was very sticky. The place has the building it needs to be nice but it's just not nice. Now, onto the most important part... the food. I got the "deal" (ribeye served with fettuccine Alfredo and a piece of lasagna, salad, and bread. The ribeye, 3 tiny meat pieces about half the size of my pinky that were mysteriously fried. No sauce on the noodles. I don't even think there was salt on it much less Alfredo sauce. The lasagna wasn't terrible but I was already done by the two previous bites I'd taken. My husband got the shrimp scampi and it was equally disappointing. But, we paid $25.99 for that slop. A word or two to Johnny Carino's. You don't have to give away free food to get customers but it was a good plan. Next time though, maybe the food needs to be the best ever so those customers want to come back and pay for something. The prices have gone up and everything else has gone down.
The waitress at the bar was too busy to wait on customers and we had to wait over 20 minutes for refills. The fettuccine Alfredo tasted like they added canned chicken. Overall this location has gone downhill. The restrooms were also filthy.
Waited several minutes to be acknowledged and seated. Waiter did not understand or explain the menu. Food was very bland. Will not go there again.
This place has the worst service out of any restaurant I’ve been to in Wichita Falls. We sat there for over an hour & still never got our food. It was 2 entrees & a kids meal. After our waitress was finished cussing like a sailor in the corner we finally got her attention & told her we want to cancel our order. No manager ever came to explain or apologize & we still had to pay for our drinks & side salads that included a tea spoon of ranch. The manager, waitstaff, & the cooks all need to be retrained. None of them know how to do their jobs. I wouldn’t go back there for a free meal. If I could give this place negative 3 stars I would.
Food was ok at best. Spaghetti had no flavor. I got the friday deal which is all you can eat salad and parm shrimp with pasta. Well the waitress never came back to even give us refills let alone see if I wanted anymore salad and shrimp. She came back to ask us if we were ready for our check though. Asked 3 times for ranch for my daughter, never received that. It was not busy when we got there, half way through our meal it started picking up...but still no excuse. Very disappointed in this one. Now I know why everyone goes to cheddars to eat. Won't be stopping here when passing through the city again.
Holy crap - since when is tea worth $3.99 ??? Walked out after eating what I call snacks in the bar and dropped $50 before tip ( I did have two draw beers ) crazy prices - why are there different deals in the bar that are not offered in the general dining area? done, finished will not be back.
We went for dinner. First we walked in and no one was at host stand. Stood there for 15 minutes while 2 other parties also came in. No one came up to seat us or even a knowledge we were there. I ended up going and finding someone who said “I know you are there but I can’t seat you without silverware and I am rolling it now”. OK. I went back up front and waited for her to finally come up and seat the now 4 parties waiting. Server was fine, attentive and brought bread right away. (This was the only good part of the whole experience) My plate came out first and then it was a good 10 minutes before my husbands came out. Was a little strange and awkward. I got the chicken parm and my husband got the seafood pasta. Both were extremely over cooked (chicken dry and not much flavor, seafood rubbery). Food was edible but not very tasty at all. Restaurant was not very busy while we were there. Prices were defiantly high for what we got. Would definitely not recommend and will not be going back. Extremely disappointed
