Restaurante La Fogata

We take a chance to try out this restaurant today and we were not disappointed. We tried their Wednesday special of tacos. They were the best we have had in awhile. The girls at the front were so sweet and accommodating. Everyone should pay them a visit and help our local businesses. The plates that were going out looked really good also.

Great food! Their house salsa on particular is amazing.

One of the best Cubanos I've ever had. Chips were fresh and the salsa was perfect. The food-to-cost ratio is definitely in your favor and, as ashamed as I am to admit, the server helped me decipher some of the menu as I'm very very white. So, service was amazing as well. Make a stop for sure.

5 stars all around! From service to food everything was perfect. My in laws are from Puerto Rico and said the food was very authentic and tasty!! The staff is beyond friendly and makes you feel so comfortable and like you’re family. I love this place so much and hope it sticks around for a very long time. It has become a favorite local business to my family and I!

Excellent friendly and efficient service. The guacamole was so fresh, and perfectly combined with tomatoes, onion and cilantro! I had cheese enchiladas with green sauce absolutely delicious, as well as the beans, rice, & tomato. I look forward returning to try the authentic Cuban dishes.

Well the burrito al pastor was the best burrito I've ever had and I'll never be able to enjoy the nation's largest burrito chain quite the same ever again. The chicken quesadilla was also incredible. Their chicken is so tender and absolutely delicious... So much better than any other Mexican restaurant I've had. I was very impressed. I would highly recommend to anyone they get one of these two amazing menu items. The staff were wonderful and friendly as well.

Best place I've eaten in a long time the owner personally spoke with us and was so excited we loved his food he brought us deserts for our children to try best tres leches we have ever had! 100/10 we drove an hour to experience their food on a whim and would gladly do that commute any day to be in the presence of such wonderful people and be able to enjoy their incredible food!

This is one of those low key legit spots that I love. Nothing fancy, just excellent traditional Mexican and Puerto Rican food prepared and served by super friendly people. So far my favorites are the steak tacos and cheese enchiladas but I feel like I could spin a wheel of the menu and I would love whatever it landed on.

OMG ... I found this place & am blown away. The outside looks a little sketchy but does the food & the SERVICE are 2nd to none. From the moment I entered I was meet & felt like I was in my family's home. The BEYOND FANTASTIC Waitress explain the food with nothing less than a presentation. I would go out of my way to eat here again. The seasoned roasted pork was incredibly delicious. The Plantas & sauce were a thief of sadness lol. Give them a chance you will be so happy you did! Sorry no pictures I ate it all!

We arrived just as they were closing, but they unlocked their doors for us and served us a DELICIOUS dinner. They told us “We wouldn’t be anything without our customers.” They took their time and let us order anything we wanted. Prices were very reasonable and the portions were enormous. We’ll definitely go back anytime we are in town.

Yesterday was our first time trying out this restaurant. We enjoyed every part of our dine in experience. And the food was so good.

This is how Mexican Style Food should be "Excellent" every mouthwatering bite after bite, leaves you wanting more. Then, I must suggest trying the Flan mmm. So good! My experience with the service was above par and may I suggest everyone leaves at least $5 or more if they can. Trust me they're worthy of much more. I've searched and searched for Mexican Style Food like this and can rest now I've found La Fogata. Yep!!! The price is well below the national average and the portions are good, but if you're real hungry, then may I suggest ordering a few sides. I noticed they deliver with Doordash, so you can enjoy La Fogata | Mexican Style Food just about anywhere in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas.

This place is my absolute favorite in Wichita Falls. The food is so delicious, the staff is the friendliest in town and the restaurant gives that homey feel. All the food is also very reasonably priced. I plan on coming weekly because this restaurant is just that good. I highly recommend!!

Best chicken enchiladas I've had in a long time!! My husband had a barbacoa torta, and the meat was tender and juicy. We shared a vanilla flan, someone had bought all of his regular flan...but the vanilla was delicious. Highly recommended 😋

Best Spanish/Mexican in Wichita Falls by a mile. The chips and also were spicy and flavorful. The green salsa was brought out quickly by a wonderful waitress who was very friendly. Our drink orders were taken within a few minutes and brought out promptly. We ordered tostones and they were savory, crispy, and seasoned well. my wife got the taco plate (carne, el pastor, and barbacoa) each was better than the last. The rice and beans were as expected, delicious. My son has the Cubano. It was as authentic as if we were in Miami, and an empanadillas. It was fried to perfection and the meat (ground beef) was so tasty I almost ordered another for myself. I had the carne asada torta. The bread was soft and buttery with perfectly cooked crispy carne and enough sauce and veg to really round it out. Next I had a lengua taco. The meat was so tender and delicious. They really know what they are doing. Finally, my wife wouldn't consider it a solid outing without some horchata. It was rich and spiced just enough. If you can't tell already, I highly recommend La Fogata.

Finally, authentic Puerto Rican food! Recommend the Carne Frita with tostones or Mofongo and Pastelillos de Carne. Not only great food but great service.

I tried several things and there was noy one bad thing! The owner Salomon is awesome, and super friendly! Go see them! I highly recommend and will be back!

My son and I went to eat dinner here last night. It is a diamond in the rough. The service was great!!!! Lots of specials and a variety of both Mexican and Puerto Rican foods. I got the green chili chicken enchiladas. The portion was big and the chicken was very moist and flavorful. I wish I was staying here long to try some more of their menu items. Price was great.

We visited La Fogata because of all the rave reviews on Google. The staff was very friendly and we sat down without a wait at around 1:00 on a Thursday. Salsa was very watery but has a good flavor. Chips were decent. Service was pretty quick, but we were basically the only people in the place. I had the fried chicken bites with the Puerto Rican rice and my wife had the carne asada quesadilla with Mexican rice and beans. Food was pretty good but really nothing to write home about. My wife liked her meal better than I liked mine. I've had a lot better and a lot worse. So, I'm giving 4 stars for the food. Definitely not worthy of the 4.8 that it had from the other reviews but not bad. The location is not in a great part of town and is kind of run down, but sometimes that is where you find the best food! All in all, not a bad experience, and I would go again and try something different next time.

Carne asada Burrito was delicious but very small compared to competitors around town. About half the size of el norteno. Was very flavorful though. Staff and owner was very nice. It was almost 13 dollars for this burrito, should be about $6.50 for the size. Dining room seemed very small and cramped, don't bring a big group.

Wait was long. Food was cold. They spent most of their time with Togo orders. We had to keep flaming the waitress down to get more chips and salsa. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I was hoping to place an order for my husband who is stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base, via Uber. I called to inquire whether they offer homemade tortillas with their plates. After the first call was disconnected, or perhaps the call ended abruptly after my initial question, I attempted to call again, I was met with laughter and the response, "Do you make homemade tortillas?" Matter of fact I do, i replied. Followed by the statement, "No, they are not homemade; they are packaged." I was a little disappointed with the lack of customer service and courtesy. It wasn't a crime to ask as other Mexican restaurants do offer. Disappointed to say the least, didn't order

I own a restaurant and never leave food reviews. But... No taste at all, no seasoning, just not good at all. Would not recommend.
