The food was on point. We ordered from brunch menu, various items. Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were amazing. They had the awareness of when to be attentive and when to give space. The ambience and decor were beautiful. Would highly recommend.

I came here with a friend and loved the atmosphere. We split a couple of appetizers empanadas were our favorite! The drinks were amazing we can’t wait to come back and try different flavors!

Our go to spot on Sundays for brunch. They have outdoor seating which is nice on a cool day. Good selections on menu from Dominican to American and $15 all you can drink Mimosas for an hour. Their Sangria is refreshing as well. The staff are friendly and provide great customer service. Still need to come back for dinner one night as the selections on menu all look so delicious.

I have nothing but all positive things to say about this restaurant/bar. I typically order my breakfast on the weekend from them, always on point, always on time. From the owner to the staff are very very friendly!! I come in on a Friday or Saturday night occasionally either by myself or with company. Either way, Every single person that I've brought here always had fun and tells me that the food is really good!! Live music too on Friday and Saturday nights! Kudos to the owner!! They know how to run this bar well!!!

You won't regreted.

Last Wednesday we had the best time at dinner. Our Bartender Thanya was adorable and full of personality plus. The cocktails were so Fresh, so organic, so unique sooo good ! The food was delicious! We will be back soon !!

I had one of the night's special, it was veal with some baby potatoes. It was just mind blowing delicious! Loved it. The drinks were great, the bartender Henry is very attentive and experienced! Had a great night overall! 🙌

Their breakfast was excellent! I had the Tres Golpes and enjoyed it so much. Definitely would love to come back again if I come to visit Queens again. The outdoor seating was really cute.

This is my favorite local go to! You can never go wrong with any item on the menu from the drinks and appetizers to the main entrees. Tonight was a steak kind of night. My husband had the Rib eye and I had the sirloin. The far Rockaway drink has been the beverage of the night. The staff is always so pleasant however Niurka went above and beyond elevating a casual experience to a spectacular evening with her attentiveness, enthusiasm and conversation.

Awesome food and atmosphere. Drove past this place for years and didn't have a clue we had a gem like this so close. Great staff and the menu had something for everyone.

I have to start with WOW!! We were walking from dropping a U-Haul rental to eat in another restaurant and then thru the window we saw this girls toasting with frozen margaritas and we decide to check the menu and 💥 I see mofongo in the menu and the drink specials for 5 de Mayo with DJ. Totally shocking and happy for the whole experience. The food was exquisite and blown away with the cognac sauce. Told my friends to come again in the weekend Thanks Henry you made my day!!! 🙏😍

I’m Dominican, and grew up with my mom making mangu most weekends, BUT THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEAT MANGU IVE EVER HAD. This is more like a purée de mangu than the traditional type (not the mofongo)

Love this place for a nice dinner. It’s great for a dinner date or even with family. The drinks are great. I love their blue lemonade. You can’t go wrong with any of them! The service and food are delicious. I usually have their cheese mofongo. Niurka is the best hostess. She’s very attentive. They even had a live band when I went tonight.

Mid afternoon lunch. Not crowded. Great food. Great service. Will be back. Came back for Empanadas and Sangria. Was really good. The sauce for the chicken Empanadas was excellent.

Pop’s is what I call my second home. Food, drinks and the people are just amazing. It’s always a good time. By far the best drink and dinning place on Jamaica ave.

It's local. It's authentic. We enjoyed the empanadas, but their breakfast is definitely to go for if you want to support neighbourhood restaurants. Love the amount of daylight that comes in, great service, would visit again.

This place is a go to for me. The setting is real nice. It’s kind of a hole in the wall. I love their mini monfongito, the sauce and chicken is amazing. The plantains are just right. I order to drink the Morrir Borracho , it was a delight . 5 Stars!!

Right now they set up like a hut outdoors for dining. Nicely decorated, with music and heaters for warmth. The food and drinks delicious as always.

What a great experience I had at Pops for my first time ! Brought out my mom for dinner and drinks for her birthday and I was not dissapointed , drinks are freshly made by the bar, food was delicious, the whole vibe felt very nice and homey, love the restaurant lighting and set up inside, prices were very reasonable for the quality of their service.. We celebrated my mother’s 60th birthday surprise dinner with 50 guests and it was a very lovely experience. Niurka upon meeting her was very sweet charismatic and ensured to answer all of our questions before booking the space. We kept in communication to make sure everything was right before the night of the dinner. The night of the dinner she made sure everything was set up before our arrival! Every person working that night was professional, friendly, attentive and efficient. The food was amazing as well. This was my first time here, and I will definitely return for another dinner night!

Been to this place years ago when it was just pops dinner and its was great. Now its Pop's cocina and I must say its wonderful. I was there with my 2 kids and husband on a Saturday night and we enjoyed our self. The drinks, the food, the atmosphere and the whole vibe was great. Looking for a small upscale vibe this is the place. Definitely will be going back to try the mofongo with pork belly.

This place is beautiful. The atmosphere was peaceful and cozy. I had breakfast with my sister on a rainy day and it was so nice. The food was perfectly cooked and coffee was so good we had two cup's.😬 The check was less than $40!! We went back for dinner the same day and just like breakfast they did not disappoint. The food was really good, flavorful and filling. I will definitely be coming back!

My sister took me here for my birthday; one of the best places for brunch no doubt. The food was really really good. The drinks were strong. The proportions were good enough and prices appropriate. The customer service needs some help, we had two waitresses due to lack of communication and we still had to wait for minor things such as napkins and gravy for the mash potatoes, but they were both amazing so I find no need to deduct stars for that. I'd definitely go back

I enjoyed my dinner here. I took myself out Saturday afternoon around 5 pm , it was not busy , the staff were pretty quick and friendly. I am not fluent in Spanish but the waitresses got my order correct and understood what I wanted. I ordered an appetizer, with a Salad , and two margaritas. Everything was good !

The food is great at Pop's Cocina. I would just suggest going there when it isn't too busy. I have have been there three times. When it isn't too but the food is wonderful and the service excellent. When they are busy, the food and the service suffer tremendously.

Its a beautiful spot if you are on a date or just hanging out with friends/family. Food is always delicious. Went today for lunch and ordered pork chops with a side for only 10$. I usually come for dinner and get a skirt steak which is a decent price 24$ and my bf orders a ribeye for 25$. Its definitely a good price for the steak you getting instead of paying 30$ for a steak with no flavor. And the chimichurri sauce it comes with its to die for.

Had steak as an appetizer and it was very tasteful ! Also , had the sangria and la Isla to drink . Both drinks were good , sangria was strong & the la Islam drink was smooth . The POPS burger was also well cooked and well seasoned . They have hookah and live music which was a plus on my side . Great customer service !!!

Very nice ambiance, Angelica the server was very nice. My concerns are with the items on the menu that were not available. I ordered a grill chicken salad and they didn't have avacados or onions. They sent out a person from the kitchen to the store and still didn't get the onions. They also didn't have Calamari but was not told this for about 25 mins so we settled for Empanadas, which were oily and not very tasty. We spoke to the manager and he apologized and said these concerns would be taken care of. He also provided us with a round of drinks on the house which was very nice of him. We will revisit Pop's and reevaluate the menu hopefully it will get a 5 Star rating. Over all it was very clean and we kept, the beer was ice cold and the drinks were awesome. We will definitely come back.

Food was SPECTACULAR! Seasoning was prefect, shake great, and service was awesome (not sure what the others are writing about). My only complaint was the tres leche; the fridge must've been too cold, therefore making the cake dry out. But besides that, I'll definitely go there again. :)

Very nice atmosphere, much better than I expected from the rest of the shops in the neighborhood. Food was VERY good. Probably the best home fries I've ever had. I got the meat lover's omelette which was awesome, can definitely recommend. Service was fine, not really good or bad, and the chef was 30min late to his shift so there was some extra wait time.

Food was good, except asked for no bacon in salad when I got to the bottom bowl was filled with bacon..drinks were great but had the worst headache from 2 mango margaritas. Service was great..had the skirt steak, the plantains were cooked perfect. The restaurant is cute on the inside. Would go again.

Food was excellent!!! And the margaritas was also great .. I Had the steak with onions with white rice and beans I must say it was perfect!!! My only complaint is maybe when they serve soda they do not fill the whole cup with ice defeats the whole purpose of the drink because u only get about 4 sips and its gone. But other than that everything was good 👍

Food is ok. My burger was a little burnt. Plates are a little pricey for the portion you get.

Fun environment, mature crowd, and friendly service. I would recommend it as it is price-friendly and surprisingly good wine selection for a Dominican spot.

The grill vegetable was the best wine selections is excellent stuffed grill chicken with sweet plantain was good but the pasta with seafood was too heavy on the sauce

Great atmosphere for me and my friends to hang out and talk during happy hour. The waitress was helpful with making recommendations. I would definitely come back again.

So I walked into Pop's on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven the other day And much has changed. Been coming here for almost 20 years but haven't been here for a few. Sadly they've removed a lot of the beautiful wood although some remains. The old fountain counter is gone, As are the booths and other seating to be replaced by elegant tables And a bar. I have to say it makes a cute little restaurant, although I do miss the old Pop's. The food was good. This is no greasy spoon. It's a step above diner food, but with the ambience of a somewhat classy restaurant. The new Pop's is a nice place for couples or families to dine; or to dine alone - as I was.

Okay, This was my second time dinning here. My first time was memorable overall good experience. This time, 2 months later. The experience was very distasteful. The food was well below my expectations from my first time. Service was overwhelmed or just unattached. Upon exiting I decided I would not return. On a second thought I realized everyone has bad day's I will try once more before I just throw the towel in.. In due time. I hope the owner See's this and responds. I have experience in the food industry I understand better than anyone what overwhelmed staff has to go through. This is why I am willing to give another chance! By the way I love Spanish cuisine, another good reason.

The place is nice and all but..... The attention is not welcoming nor are pleasnt. The owner standing near us but, doesn't even care to realize that people are waiting for their bill. Or even ask, this is your business right! Does not even bother to come around to see if we need anything. Also, while raising my hand to catch they're attention to come over and pick up my money so i can leave. I then waited and waited ugh. Mind you we were only 4 people in the entire restaurant. Funny thing is the other girl's were just chatting and one doing all the work. No management.Ridiculous! In the other hand the food and drinks were good amazing. Customer service not okay.

I love this place but I was highly disappointed with my order last night. Their quality control is usually on point which is why I was so surprised with the meal I received. The shrimp Mofongo in garlic sauce looked & tasted so bland. Nothing how it is usually served or looks in other reviews. Thank goodness the rest of my order wasn’t made sub par.

We have been coming here for years but in the last year, service and food have been amiss. This week, we took 5 of our friends that came in from out of town and this place usually has some really good mofongos/mofonguitos which we all ordered, but we were very disappointed. The sauce which we thought would be the regular sauce from "carne guisada" was not good at all and the plantain just was not the right consistency. The drinks were off also, not the same. Staff was ok, a bit dry.

When Steve owned the place it had some bit of old world style and class left...The new people have tried to modernize it and tripled the prices on breakfast with slowwwww service. I don't ever spend thirty dollars on breakfast for two. The new owners have not come to the conclusion that this is a diner and trying to change it into a modern space is not what it can be!

It's really sad to see a new place open up and start on the right track, but start going down the drain as they start cooking really bad. I had the pop's passion about a month ago. This dish is chicken Brest stuffed with yellow fried plantain and a sauce over it. It was delicious. On that note, I took my husband to eat that dish and it tasted like it had been cooked three days ago. The meat es hard and the plantains were hard too!! For a dish that cost $ 19.99, I think they should respect what they are cooking!! I will never go in there again!

The staff is very rude. The delivery guy was like a mean robot. He got a nice tip and didn't even say thanks. The woman who handles the phone Tania hung up. When we called back she just didn't answer. When we asked to speak to a manager she hung up

The presentation is excellent. However, the wait time needs improvement. We were the only customers at 9:30 am & we waited 15 minutes for a simple breakfast. I still tipped the hostess 20% because she was pleasant. PLEASE ASK CHEF TO UP HIS GAME. CHOP! CHOP!

Went in for brunch to a mostly empty restaurant and an apathetic waitress came over. After putting in our order, we were IGNORED for over 45 minutes. They never came over, never checked in with us to tell us why our food was delayed, just rearranged silverware. The WORST service I've ever experienced in Queens. I was so annoyed I left before the food arrived. Nothing is worth that level of incompetence. These people obviously don't give a fig about customer service. Any positive reviews are baffling

Old Indian owners were filthy. Cakes were served with whipped cream covering the mold. The treated the staff like slaves & gave good tables to their kids. I hope the Greek who owns the building reopened the diner. He is a nice man from the old school. I saw tears in his eyes as he saw the way the Indians ran the place down.

If I could leave less stars, I would. The restaurant was totally empty, but it still took an hour and a half to get our food, which was bland and required us to dump salt and pepper on it because it had ZERO flavor. My ten year old daughter, who barely eats, ordered a shrimp platter and was asking for more food because it barely had any. Being that it was her graduation we ordered a celebratory dessert, which they said they could do- but only flan because that’s all they sell. So we agreed, but after five minutes they came out and said they don’t have any dessert. WHAT a disaster! We should have just waited the 45 minutes to go to Don Tequila, which opened at 3 pm.

Came here after many years, and I was surprise to see how an American breakfast only comes with home fries and eggs, sausage separately, I’m guessing is to charge more. Not the place it use to be before. I miss the old pops where u can get the regular American breakfast

Do not order takeout from here!! I don't know how it is with dining in, but I've had nothing but bad experiences with takeout. Their website for ordering is a landmine of outdated offerings that are not available. When I came in it took 30 minutes to prepare a single appetizer to replace what I had wanted. By the time I got to eat, the pork was dry and the fried yellow plantains were dry and tasteless. I had ordered here before and they didn't have what I wanted for the main course so I substituted for something cheaper and there was never a refund for the difference!

Food tasted bland and cocktails tasted terrible. Service is horrible they don’t accommodate to customers and overcharge. Never going back ever again. Worst place to spend a birthday. Highly disappointed and unprofessional service. Deserves zero stars.

Upon entering I expected my time to be better here. Assuming the decor could do justice for the food and service. Once you come in, the welcoming is very bland. The food was not special, the prices were reasonable but the service was horrible. The waitress with short black hair was not available when needed to request anything. Once the food came, the lady with dark orange hair bringing it was rude and stoic. I went on a Monday and only 4 tables seated. Rather go to Tropical next time.

Just wanted to share that the food is good here but the service from the Giraffe looking bartender/waitress is horrendous, she always has an attitude and carries herself like she does not want to be there every single time I visit this place. Everyone else courteous and welcoming which makes this place a 5 star review on all categories when of course she is NOT there!!!
