Looking for a new coffee shop on my way to the beach and this place jumped out. Service was warm and welcoming. Shop is cute and the gelato is tempting. Love the plants around the shop. I had a Barista special which was a brown sugar maple flavored latte, it was delicious. Highly recommended!
We tried the Collagen Latte, Golden Elixir, and Matcha Einspänner—all were excellent. The latte had a deep, robust flavor, the elixir had just the right amount of turmeric warmth (as it should!), and the matcha was rich and smooth. Z and the cashier were incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to answer all my questions since it was my first visit. The café itself is cozy and inviting—perfect for enjoying thoughtfully crafted drinks.
I was staying in the valley and looking for a good morning coffee when I decided to try this coffee shop. The experience did not disappoint! I ordered a medium-hot vanilla honey latte with almond milk and just one pump of vanilla—it was absolutely delicious. The shop has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Customers can read books while enjoying their coffee. In addition to great drinks, they also sell various items, including crystals, candles, sage spray, jewelry, and more. There is free parking, which is a plus. However, the indoor seating area is limited, with only three tables, making it less ideal for working or accommodating large groups.
Seriously great coffee !rich, smooth, and full of flavor! If you’re a true coffee lover, this spot is a must-visit. The cappuccino was amazing!Parking can be a bit tight, but with a little patience, you’ll usually find a spot nearby. What really makes the experience even better is the vibrant, youthful staff who bring great energy and warmth to the place. The atmosphere is upbeat and inviting, perfect for enjoying your favorite brew or catching up with friends. Great coffee, great vibe, and friendly service, I highly recommend giving this place a try!
I recently visited Tang and Java and was blown away by the exceptional experience they offer. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff, and it was evident that this is a place that values customer satisfaction above all else. Not only do they offer high-quality items, but their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients adds a level of freshness and authenticity to their menu that is truly commendable. What's even more impressive is that Tang and Java is a women-owned business, which makes supporting them even more meaningful. It's inspiring to see such dedication and passion reflected in every aspect of their operation. Whether you're looking for a delicious cup of coffee, a tasty pastry, or a satisfying meal, Tang and Java has something for everyone. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing their fantastic offerings for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
The gelato is amazing, the coffee is flavorful eventually working my way through the whole menu. I come here every week And can’t get enough. The owner and employees are so kind which just adds to the charm of the place. 10/10 for quality product 10/10 customer service!!
This place is super cute! The gelato flavors are amazing! So many tasty flavors to choose from. The owner is always making new flavors for the season as well. Their coffee selection is also flavorful. I try not to come here every week, but it’s very addicting.
I rarely ever leave reviews but I am so impressed with this place and the service was so excellent, I just had to leave a review. Found it on my way to a hike and am thrilled I walked in. Elijah and Diana provided EXCELLENT service and were so sweet and kind. I was indecisive as there are so many good options and Elijah was very patient with me and offered me great suggestions. I got the tiramisu iced latte and I’m blown away - I have never had such delicious cold foam, they use real vanilla and you can see the black specks of vanilla bean in your foam! This was the best experience and I can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much Elijah and Diana!! 🩵😁
Super cute and clean shop with a Filipino flair. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have gelato, coffee and some really delicious treats. The poffertjies are traditional small and fluffy Dutch treats cooked to order. These are served hot and were so yummy. I probably could have eaten more but the kiddos gobbled them all up. Many options for gelato flavors, ordered the hazelnut and it was so good and not super sweet.
November 2024 Divine, Delectable, Delicious! Yes, I'll be back. Worth every penny. Prices are: $5.25 1 scoop $7.95 2 scoops $13.95 1 pint 1. Great service: John and the other person working the counter were all about hospitality. They let me try a couple different flavors, and I settled on two. 2. The Gelato is made like real Gelato should be made. There's very little air incorporated into the final product, and it's not overly sweet. I can taste the cream and milk. The mouth feel is extraordinary. Dont rush to finish it. Let it linger in your mouth for a better experience. Today's flavors I tried: Amaretto: you have to really Savor this once you take a spoonful. The longer you let it melt in your mouth, the more subtleties your palate will pick up. It's not overly sweet, not overly strong, it's just the right blend of almond and a toasted wafer flavor I can't quite identify.. malt? Fig & Mascarpone: omg! My favorite today. Again, something you really need to savor and let melt in your mouth to truly appreciate all of the nuances that are going on here. It's savory, not overly sweet, something you would have after say like a steak dinner. The fig is amazing in combination with the marscapone. I tried the Goat Cheese as well, another savory winner. It wasn't sweet, and the balance of just the right amount of sugar with the saltiness of the goat cheese hits every part of your palate. In general, their Gelato is creamy, it's smooth, it's like a trophy you celebrate. Marinate on it, taste it, enjoy it. One of the other reasons I know this is true gelato, made in the real gelato making style from Italy is because there is a super fine structure and texture about it. It's not crystalline like ice cream would be, and there's not a lot of Incorporated air. Basically, the real gelato making technique takes time, and it's typically taken out of the gelato maker in a semi-solid state, more liquidy. Then it gets transferred to a deep freezer to come down to its final temperature below freezing. This means that the texture is more smooth, less rough, and more of that true mouth feel which coats your palate as it melts. I didn't notice or taste any of the typical cheat method ice cream making additives like guar gum or xantha gum. To the contrary, Tang and Java truly is gelato! No doubt about it. There is a quality here that you just don't get at other so-called "gelato" places. It's worth every penny. And the Pint for $14 is truly the best value. Parking: pretty easy to find parking in the lot, also on the street. Just beware of that light on Fallbrook and ventura. Sometimes you can get stuck there for an eternity. But that's not the fault of Tang and Java. I blame the city of Los angeles. Lol. Atmosphere: it's kind of like Steampunk meets Swanky 1960s Los Feliz Jazz Lounge. Great date spot for sure! The owners are great people! They put their heart and soul into this establishment, and you should definitely give them a chance to earn your business. Please tell them you saw this review and mention me.
Tang and Java has arguably the best ice cream and coffee in all of this area of LA! I have visited a couple of times now and I am blown away with everything I get each time. They are a Filipino coffee shop and gelateria and they do a GREAT job with both! I’ve gotten their Espresso Sparkler, Iced Café Barako, and a couple of their soda/mocktail drinks. The Espresso Sparkler is a super unique sparkling soda that reminds me of my last travels to Thailand, where it is super popular there! The Iced Café Barako is REALLY good - if you’ve never tried it before, it’s a very strong Filipino coffee with some house-made pandan syrup. Great flavor that is unlike any coffee I’ve had before. And who can forget their gelato?! This is the best part! I always thought another shop nearby had the best ice cream in this area…and Tang and Java gives them a run for their money! Might be the best ice cream in this whole area of LA! All the flavors are super unique Asian-inspired flavors (from Philippines to Japan to many other places) and they are SO CREAMY! Like it’s almost a mix between ice cream and soft serve! The Hokkaido Cheese, Biscoff, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, and Goat Cheese with Passion Fruit were the ones we tried so far and they are wonderful. The Hokkaido Cheese is almost like a cream cheese type of cheese (so don’t be weirded out by it being “cheese” ice cream), and the others were all perfect. I would get all of them 100 times more and I can’t wait to try more flavors! This place is a hidden gem - you need to try it if you are in the mode for either coffee or ice cream. You will NOT be disappointed!
Love this little cafe. Great vibes walking in. The original 5 blend matcha (Hot) was perfect on this cold sunny spring semi rainy day in socal. Had a filipino inspired ube scone... sooo good. Not too sweet as some tarot inspired bakery items can be. Love the warm dark secy atmosphere that sets it apart from the landscape of coffee cafes in the valley. Working outlets folks for you so called work from home workers.

I love coming here! The staff are very friendly and the owner is so kind. We always feel welcomed coming here. My Boys love the Gelato while I'm having my favorite Coffee!!! Win win to all of us. They have Ube drinks and food. Yummy!!!!

I went in thinking “coffee shop,” and walked out having experienced what can only be described as a spiritual awakening via chocolate gelato. I’m not exaggerating when I say it might be the best gelato — actually scratch that — the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life. The chocolate was so rich, so smooth, so perfectly balanced that I genuinely had to pause between bites. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes and rethink every other chocolate experience you’ve ever had. And the coffee? Just as good. The whole vibe is cozy, welcoming, and dangerously addictive. If you haven’t been to Tang n Java yet, go. Immediately. Your taste buds will thank you. 🍫✨
Tang and Java is one of those coffee shops that makes your day easier the second you walk in. The space feels welcoming, the team moves fast without rushing you, and the whole place runs with that calm, organized energy you want when you are grabbing coffee or sitting down to work. If you want a local coffee shop you can rely on for quality drinks and friendly service, Tang and Java is worth making part of your routine. Glad the Maiden Community introduced me to this wonderful coffee shop!

Cute place, would have never found this Hidden gem if it weren’t for my desperate need of caffeine. So starting from the top. Parking is horrible, if you’re going during the weekend it’s honestly a hit or miss with parking. However, the place inside is cute, the baristas were very sweet and helpful. Barista suggested the top favorites so we had to try them.. our favorites were maple, sea salt , and lavender. Sea salt was by far the favorite. They also have a great lunch menu and delicious looking gelato. Will need to go again for the gelato. Hope this helped

Going for my manicure around the area and having to stop by for my afternoon caffeine intake led me to find Tang & Java. The space was perfect as it came with parking spots within the complex. It was moderately busy in Saturday afternoon but I could still easily get myself a spot to chill and hang for awhile. The chiller and pastry case by the order point offered some options of munchies. I went for one of the most opted ones by the crowd, their Ube Mochi Cornbread. Flavor wise it was quite nice, coming in right sweetness level and decent ube flavor; besides being unique as I had never seen or tasted any ube cornbread before. Nonetheless, the texture was bit dry, maybe because it's refrigerated. The attendant did ask me if I would want the fresh slice, unfortunately only after I took my first bite already so it's too late. My drink was however AMAZING and tasted as great as it looked. I couldn't agree more with anyone else who said this was a must-try! The combo of sweet and salty just nailed the overall taste, and it's awesome that the coffee flavor could stay bold and dominant. Yummy quencher for sure!

I have to be honest This was not my favorite shop to go to Now while the customer service was great and everybody was nice. I got an ube latte and it really just did not taste. Good to me at all whatsoever. As part of a Yelp promotion, I was able to get free profiteroles which did taste decent, but everything else was just not very good for me to really want to come back in the future. Unfortunately I've only tried them once so I'm always open. You know maybe an off day so I will probably try them again in the future and update my review at that point
I visited the store recently and was surprised that the shakes and drinks didn’t have any visible prices. When I asked, the prices turned out to be quite high compared to similar places nearby. It’s frustrating not knowing the cost upfront, especially when you’re on a budget. Transparency in pricing is important—hopefully, they’ll consider adding clear pricing to the menu in the future.

I went to this place because of the reviews. Some said it's a good place to get a cup of coffee and work. Nope. Space is pretty small and the couple of tables were dirty. Chairs looked uncomfortable so I didn't even try. Employees made it feel like they were doing you a favor. And lo and behold: $8 for a latte 🫠 no thanks

They have a “Vietnamese coffee,” but don't waste your money; the baristas don't know how to make it. As a barista, I'm very disappointed in the drink and the price.
