Absolutely delicious, and the service was amazing. All their recipes come from their great grandmother. I will definitely be back next month when I'm passing through Yorba Linda to see my Grand Daughter.
This Hidden Gem truly lives up to its title : “Best Vietnamese Restaurant in O.C”. It is a must try. Monarch 9 Is a Cafe that serves their customers authentic French influenced Vietnamese food. Their service, food, and decor are immaculate. They serve the most delicious pho I’ve ever tasted. I paired my meal with their fruit tea and Tiramisu for dessert. I will surely be coming back to try the rest of the food offered on their menu. Thank you Monarch 9 for making this a great experience with your customer service and delicious food.
Very nice, cozy spot for pho and other Vietnamese/French inspired dishes. Got the pho. It was recommended by an employee because it had no msg and just purest flavor. The Spring Rolls were good, too. Got the coffee (which is half off on Thursdays 🤫 and the popcorn chicken.
Hello, I'm writing to you today to share my experience at a wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The indoor atmosphere was inviting, and the service was impeccable. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining. You order and pay for your food at the counter, then take a seat. Free parking is available, and the owners are always friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and a pleasant dining experience.
A clean and friendly Vietnamese restaurant. The table setting was also nicely prepared. All the food we ordered was delicious. The Pho soup was really clean and refreshing. The egg rolls were really big and special. Above all, the oxtail fried rice was really delicious. The portions were also generous, and the texture of the small pieces of oxtail was really nice to chew on. The inside of the restaurant was also very clean, and it seemed to be a popular place with many customers as soon as it opened.
We got a table, food came quickly, and tasty, this is an order then sit location
Awesome place! Family owned. The passion, and the care of the owners is very genuine. Definitely the most unique Vietnamese food I have had. Came here for lunch. Had the vegan spring rolls, vegan curry, and hubby had the shaken beef. The place is super clean, very nice, and you can feel the positive energy. We were greeted with many smiles and had a wonderful lunch! Next time will try the cocktails!
Wow!! That's what I have to say about the meal we just had at Monarch 9 in Yetba Linda CA. I ordered the Chicken pho which was amazing!! My hubby ordered the Filet Mignon Pho & he loved it too!! We initially went to try their beef stew and was let down when we were told they no longer serve the dish! We were sad but that's when I decided to try the chicken Pho and it's definitely one of the best I've ever had!! The portion was huge definitely enough for two people. I loved how clean the establishment was . I really liked their decor too! To top it off we ordered the tiramisu. That was also very good too! The staff was very friendly and attentive too. It was definitely worth the visit! A must try.
Best Vietnamese food in all of OC. Definitely don’t leave without trying to shaken beef. Vermicelli bowl! My favorite is the lychee drink they have and get the shaken beef with rice every single time and it’s so fulfilling I never wanna share it!
If you’re looking for a spot where the food hits as hard as your friend’s karaoke skills, Monarch 9 Cafe is the place! Owned by the dynamic duo Tommy and Aileen (seriously, they’re the best), this place serves up some of the most flavorful dishes in OC. The Shaken Beef? A total game-changer—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. And the Oxtail Fried Rice? I can’t even… it’s like the rice is doing a little happy dance with each bite. Drinks are on point, too. The Coconut Grass Jelly is a refreshing tropical escape, while the Thai Green Iced Tea is basically a sip of cool, herbal heaven. Oh, and the music vibe? Think of a playlist that makes you feel like you’re dining in a classy, yet laid-back lounge where everyone’s happy—and so are you. Definitely go for the food, stay for the vibe, and if you don’t leave Monarch 9 smiling, I’m pretty sure you missed something. Cheers to Tommy and Aileen for keeping this gem going!
Finally found a place that has pho without the MSG. The server was friendly. After you were seated, you then go to the counter to place the order. That was the only odd thing. We had be Buddha stir fried and the beef. The beef plate was better. The Buddha stir fried tasted a bit sweet. The spring rolls were good as well. Def recommend
This place is freaking awesome they informed us right away they are super busy and that the appetizers would be out first and our food might take a bit. We ordered the Vegan pho and the Chicken stir fry. The owner suggested for us to get the egg rolls and he even came to give us another order for the wait and dessert! Everyone was super kind and the food was amazing too!!
THE BEST FOOD EVER! The pho was excellent in taste and portion, the broth like no other, words can't even do it justice,(order the small if you are like me and will order more plates!) The spring rolls, eggrolls, and oxtail rice like no other, definitely order the oxtail rice, it is life. The shaken beef is the best plate I have ever tasted in my life! The service is one of a kind, such wonderful staff, and the lychee ice tea was so refreshing!

This was the best tasting Pho I've had anywhere in this area. The perfect seasoning of the broth makes me crave it anytime I want soup. To all Pho lovers out there, give Monarch 9 a try!

Great place for PHo!! I love small independent non Sysco (or mainly Sysco dominated) restaurants. Yorba Linda doesn't have great eating places but this will be one of my new go-tos! Especially since my favorite pho, tru seasons organic kitchen closed :/ The broth here is a little different with some ginger, which I love, but will also take some getting to use to it as it's not super traditional pho broth.
Our favorite go to place for dine in or take out in the area! It’s even great for our 3 year old! The staff are so friendly and the wonder comes to greet us every time we visit. The food is delicious and portions are large. I love that we usually have some left overs for the next day!
Great tasting food that's also healthy. Amazing service. Their pho is the best. Highly recommend.

This place never disappoints, the owners are so friendly, they come around to see how you are doing. I came with my family tonight and we got pho, shaken beef and oxtail fried rice and everything was absolutely delicious. We also tried the spring rolls and the sauce really made it special. Definitely coming back.
Food is good. Not quite everything was to my taste but that's personal preference. The quality is good and the portions are generous for the price. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Relaxing atmosphere inside, great place to relax for a while and have a meal.

I'd give it a 5 if they weren't out of the first 4 items I tried to order! Great spot located in a quiet unsuspecting area. I've lived in Yorba Linda for a while and never knew it was there. Found it by googling "pho near me". I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. It was packed so I understood why they were out of things. Vibe was great - I even liked the music. Food was really good. The best pho I've found. This place is not your regular tiny walk-up restaurant. I didn't wait very long but they came up and apologized for my wait - thought that was nice. I guess I was enjoying looking around. Overall, kind and good service. I ordered to-go but after waiting inside for my food, I'm definitely going back to dine-in with my family. Recommend for sure.

Not very impressed today, our first time dining here! 4.5 stars with 960 reviews on Yelp seemed really good, so we decided to try it out. Restaurant is nice, very cool ambiance, nice decorations, well organized. They offer inside seating as well as patio seating. Clean restaurant. The have beers to chose from, as well as some delicious dessert options (well… they looked delicious lol, did not get to try them.) The reason why I am only giving them a 3 star review, it is because of the wait time. We sat on a semi-wet table, was not fully dry when they took us there. Then we waited almost 45 minutes before the first plate was brought to our table, and about 3 minutes in between plates. It was only 5 of us. Not a huge party. Before we left, 2 different waiters came to our table to apologize for the slow service. One said it was because they were under staffed, the other one said it was because the rush caught them by surprise!! So I am assuming it was probably a combination of both! The food on the other hand was very good. I would not really consider this restaurant to be the best Vietnamese restaurant in Orange County at the moment, maybe back in 2020 when It was nominated, but not now. But yes, the food was good, very good quantity for the price tag. My Oxtail Fried rice was $18.95 My wide Vermicelli Chicken Bowl was $17.95 I am not sure if I’ll come back. Who knows!
A late lunch visit brought us in a little after 1pm. Plenty of parking, with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. Service is impeccable, super friendly owner and host. Very personable and very attentive. The atmosphere is a relaxed, clean design, you’re seated with a menu and walk up to the counter to order, and food is then delivered to your table! Menu is predominantly Vietnamese with a bit of a fusion play with it. Definitely not your typical Vietnamese dishes. I ended up going with their Vermicelli bowl with pork ($20). Not anything to scream a re-visit again. Noodles were overdone, breaking up into small pieces as I tried to dig out a bite. The spring roll was hot but tasted more old oil than anything amazing from the filling itself. Pork was underwhelming and not as flavorful as I was anticipating it to be. Nuoc Mam also didn;t add much of a kick to it either. Overall, maybe this dish was just a miss this day but not worth the $20. My table mates ended up with their curry and buddha stir fry, both dishes I got to try, and were significantly better executed than my dish. Fresh Fruit Tea ($6) SO refreshing! It's definitely my highlight. Madeline ($3) Just 1 ran for 3 dollars, which seems steep, but it came out freshly warmed and was pretty tasty. Overall, the visit was pleasant. My plate was underwhelming, but the atmosphere and service were amazing. I'm not sure if I’d be inclined to try this spot again. That oxtail fried rice might win me over, though?

Due to work meetings, I needed to order takeout soon after they opened so maybe the food wasn't as good as I was expecting. We ordered chicken vermicelli noodles and the chicken banh mi. The shredded chicken for both items were incredibly dry. I regretted not trying the pork-- maybe it wouldn't be as dry. Couldn't eat the meat. The sauce for the noodles was a little spicy and good. The veggies were great too. There wasn't as much of the pickled carrots in both items. Maybe I'll give this place another try in the future. The service and atmosphere were great!
