This was my very first time eating at a Taco Bueno. I don't eat out often. The cashier was super sweet. It was her first day. The food was good and made correctly. Place was clean inside. Was hesitant to go considering the reviews but I thought everything was great!

Without a doubt, Taco Bueno is probably the best fast food Mexican restaurants out there. Their service is fast and the employees are super friendly. You can't go wrong, at least not at the one on Buffalo Gap near Antilley Rd.

The staff is friendly. I like the Mexi dip and chips option. However, I cannot understand why the guacamole is always extremely salty. If it is freshly made, please tone down on the use of salt for the guac. The queso tasted wonderful tonight and the chips were not greasy.

It's. Ok! Very slow! Could have been faster! Seems like they don't know what they are doing! The black girl acted like she was better than the place she was working!

I think there is new management because the last 2 times we've went the order was right and the food was really good. The meat is still too greasy.

We visited twice last week. Taco Bueno is a favorite of ours but not close to us in The Woodlands, Texas. The food was great. The service was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was one of the cleaner Taco Buenos.

Only complaint I have is the drive thru always try to put EVERYTHING into 1 bag which makes getting it into the vehicle very difficult without tilting the bag which tends to spill items inside the bag making for a mess to clean up once home with order. If there are several items which require containers please split them up into separate bags. Otherwise, food was good, order was correct, and waitstaff friendly.

The Buffalo Gap store has changed so significantly in the past few months! The store is clean, neat, salsa and condiments fresh and clean. Employees, neat and helpful, food was fresh and tasty, not dry and tasteless. Great Job guys!

It was my first time ever. And it was really, really good. The service was nice, their drinks and certainly food items are on half off for a happy hour after 8 p.m. They have a lil salsa bar, there is about 5 taco Buenos in Abilene we noticed. This one had clean bathrooms, the establishment seemed very clean all together and I certainly enjoyed the food. 10/10 would go back. I recommend it to anyone who already likes taco bell. It's got a very similar feeling and taste to it, but yet still completely different.

Friendly, efficient staff. The restaurant was clean. The napkins and sauce packets were low. But they were on top of it. Replenishing everything. I was impressed to see the staff getting along so well. My order was accurate. Well done.

Drive-thru is very slow so don't be in a hurry especially if you're stuck between cars. Staff is always friendly, I don't go in that often when I do it's fairly clean. Food hasn't been bad. So far so good. FYI Thursdays have 59 cent party tacos!

I won't say I don't like it, but I just can't say I do either. Sometimes you just need fast food tacos and I'm used to either Taco Bell or Del Taco, and I chose Del Taco just because I preferred their meat really... Anyways, if you are familiar with both aforementioned 'taquieras' then this review will make sense. This is leaps and bounds better than Taco Bell, but not quite up to the Del Taco level, the primary complaint of mine being the chicken meat didn't seem to be marinated at all, or at least long enough to acquire any full flavor. Since there aren't any Del Taco locations around, I'll come back here when I have the fiend for that kind of food and who knows, maybe they'll impress in the future? We shall see :) It is worth noting that the prices are fairly decent and you get a pretty good amount of food for your value.

Normally have decent service here but the last couple times have been really bad with my most recent visit being the worst. Drive through was moving really quickly but inside it took over thirty minutes to get food and I'm not sure when the last time it had been cleaned was. Food was cold and some of it was burned.

It’s probably been six months since we ate here last and the reason we don’t eat here is because skimp on the meat in the tacos. They may put about the size of your pinky amount of meat on the tacos. Nothing like their advertising pictures show. Flavor of the food was not bad!

This location is usually a hit or a miss. I enjoy Taco Buenos food but I'm guessing it more depends on the staff. They used to be a place I would brag about to non Texans to try, but now I would probably recommend something else while visiting. It's sad because they were great. Over the years they have let the quality go. They barely filled up the tacos and my muchaco was very greasy. The people were nice. I really can't say I recommend. But the food is good when they do it right.

The taco was good. The quesadilla was cold the chicken in it tasted old. Also the taco salad was cold the guacamole was brown and the chicken tasted old. There was no flavor to the food other than tasting old. We will not be back

Drive thru was horribly slow, even though there wasn't a single person in front or behind us. Or in the parking lot. They got my order wrong and they got the drinks wrong. And did I mention how slow it was? I was in the drive thru for at least 15 mins.

Not what it used to be. The parking was completely empty when we got there right at noon! Other people must feel the same as we do....or worse. The staff act like they really don't care. And if you order a bean burrito with extra cheese, there's not but a sprinkle more. I'm sure they're doing what they're supposed to be doing; it's gonna close down unless management / owner changes things.

Staff was friendly. Food was gross. We have stopped eating here and go to Rosa's instead. Dined in at around 11am, rice was dried out and old, salsa bar was a mess, taquitos were so saturated with oil the food wrappers were clear, beans were dried out, tortilla was stale. When we dine at Rosa's the food is piping hot and very fresh, not to mention fresh tortillas and sanitary salsa bar. Bueno used to be so good but they have really done a nose dive.

Food was pretty good. Trash over flowing salsa bar destroyed. Behind the counter very messy. Really wish Bueno would pay attention to stores in abilene area. The supervisor for this area needs to be fired

I don't expect everyone to like their job but they had an attitude at the drive through and when I went to order the person said speak up I can't hear you in a very condescending tone. then proceeds to say that they were out of what I wanted Idk what they're called but it's like lemonade I'm avoiding sodas so I asked for a half and half tea person was snarky when I asked if they had anything that wasn't carbonated to drink. The food was good rushed but good. I don't expect exceptional service but I would expect a greeting and not really an attitude. I would have driven off if there were not cars behind me.

We spent 32.00 bucks, only to get sour hot sauce. Everyone knows if the container has air the sauce isn’t any good. Throw them away before you get some one sick. Plus they mess up the order after repeating several times. I like Taco Bueno but every time we go some thing is missing from the order.

Took 15 minutes to get my order at dine in because they were to worried about the drive thru. Then when I got my order it was incorrect and had a corner of a plastic container bag inside one of my items. Not coming back

I have a favorite burrito here, and I love the red salsa. I was reading reviews, and found that I am not the only one who have gotten a 3" burrito. There is no standard. The burrito wasn't half price, and yet it was half size. I am considering not eating at this location anymore after yesterday. The cashier in the drive through window did not look at all presentable. Dirty shirt with holes, among other things, that gives the impression of poor hygienes.

Well my family loves taco bueno. but this is supposed to be a beef taco salad......... I think we are missing 3/4 of the filler....... never fails either the order is wrong or I get a micro version of what I ordered.

Always was a fan of the muchacos. But seems with time they just arnt as good as they once were. More pita bread and lettuce then meat and beans. Pita bread is cold and not appetizing.

Apparently they can't count to 10. Took my hungry kids and family and ordered 10 tacos and 10 burritos. Got home with 6 burritos and 8 tacos and the phone number they have online keeps saying it's not an active number. Not happy with today's service at all!!!! Looks like I'm not eating tonight so my kids and family can eat because I don't have the gas to drive back up there. Thanks guys

The cashier was very nice so that's where the 1 star comes from. The guy in the back was not professional and he was rude when I ordered a second muchaco due to the first one hardly having any meat and beans. When I got the second muchaco he purposely filled it up so much it was messy and coming out of the sides. I had to use a fork to scoop it out and put it into the first one lol you could tell he just threw it together

We went to Taco Bueno on Buffalo Gap in Abilene TX today and tried to use our $3 off coupon on Wednesday Wholotta box. There was nothing on the coupon that stated the coupon was invalid. This location did not honor it!!!!!! WHOLATTA BOX WAS A WHOLLATA BUNK!!!!

Slow service, old pico on the salads bar, they left out my queso on the mexi dip and chips, and there's no phone number listed to fix anything..so the only option is to leave a bad review instead of giving them the chance to fix it!! Im done with them, Alfredo's is way better and cheaper!!

Without a doubt the worst Taco Bueno meal I've ever gotten. The tortillas were rock hard, the chicken had beef all randomly mixed in with it, and the rice was just a soggy cluster. Awful.

Very disappointed. Got the Tex Mex bowl and the rice was so hard, it was impossible to eat. They put like 1/2 tsp of sour cream on it, nothing like the pic, asked for more sour cream and they charge $2 for it. They barely put any taco meat in it either. The refried beans took up almost the whole bowl. We were the only customers in the restaurant and it took 15 minutes to get our food. Will probably never go here again. It sucks to leave a restaurant hungry because I took 3 bites.

I like there food but never the same employees so they are always new and never get the order right. I specifically ask for certain things and it's Never in the bag!! But its on the reciept!! And Never Ever get Hot Sauce even when I ask for extra! And today it was all ice cold.

Subpar fake Mexican food is what you come here for, can't fault them on that. The customer service is absolute crap. They have no respect for customers and zero professionalism. Anyone who gives this place more than 2 stars obviously just got out of prison or had a near death experience and has a renewed zeal for life.

They totally screwed up on my order charged me $30 for eight tacos and did not give me anything. My wife could eat. The drive-through person must be a complete idiot. They need to go back home and get on her video games.

Some dinner stayed in drive trough 30 min just for them to tell me thay where out of meat i could only get bean burrito at 6:30 thay should have a sign letting customers there out of meat so thay wouldn't have u waite so long in drive throw . north first st taco bueno .then went to the others taco bueno thay where out of all hot sauce boy this was a waste of time not might night .so i had to go to taco bell where thay had everything .o no use calling them thay dont pick up phone to check if thay have what you are looking for on the menu before you go .

I'm usually fond of taco bueno but tonight I was quite disappointed. Online it says that this location is open until 2am. I arrived at 1:20 and they quickly told me they were closed. I later called and was told they close at 1am. When I mentioned that they should change the hours online the woman that answered rudely told me that they have no control over that.

Sitting in drive through-employees not wearing masks, coughing into their hands and touching faces. The only person wearing a mask in the whole place is working the window and has a black mask. Not a good sign considering today’s situation.

Sunday drive thru not busy. Beef taco salad was horrible. Couldn’t find any beef in it! You’d think this wouldn’t happen when not busy but every time we go there something is missing from the order or the food isn’t up to par. We won’t be back that’s for sure.

I am very bummed and disappointed from my visit at this taco Bueno. I’ve never been to one. I watched undercover boss on TV and discovered this place, and really look forward to eat here . To start off the place was very dirty , the salsa bar was a total mess, and when we received our food it was cold ,the meat inside my burrito was cold , my flour tortilla was hard I spent 20 bucks took a few bites and turned around and left. I didn’t even stop and talk to the people inside the restaurant because I thought it was going to be a waste of my time.

I went thru the drive thru at your Buffalo Gap location. I was treated so rudely by your manager Dewayne. He greeted me rudely then told me to quit yelling. I told him I was not yelling. He then laughed at me. I told him i would not be placing my order which he keep trying to get me to finish my order. Seriously, after being rude and laughing. Yes, I was speaking loudly because they always have a hard time hearing and couldn't hear at all last week. Apparently, they have a defective speaker but instead of fixing they take it out on their customers. Then to think I would still want order and spend my money with someone who was rude and laughed at me. No Bueno. I don't know if you have any Abilene managers from 80s or 90s still employed but you need them to train and run your restaurants. It sad Abilene the founding location has such horrible service.

My wife was at the drive thru looking at the menu. She had two ? Men and one ? Women come to the speaker and ask her what she wanted !!! That's pathetic And disrespectful. They must hire drug addicts off the stree or immigrants That are all TRISOMY 21's. I would put Minus stars but they really don't want to hear their true ratings. Oh, and they don't squeeze the yellow greese from their ? Meat or put it on a angled rack with holes for the greese to separate from the ? Meat like some fast food joints do. So you can expect lots of nasty yellow grease dripping from both sides coming out and onto you and your clothes. Be sure and dine in and ask for extra greese.

This Bueno doesn't even deserve the one star. The food always tastes old and the tortillas and vums taste stale. Only one of the workers seemed interested in doing his job, while the female manager chatted it up with other female workers. The manager seemed to be giving the male worker a hard time, and it seemed to cause her trouble when she had to speak to him. Definitely don't recommend this Bueno to anyone.

Ordered thru drive thru. Didn't get the correct order. We got two poorly made bean burritos. We were supposed to get two combo burritos and to chimis.

if you like stale chips with your nachos and cheese and meat that taste like it was made last week then maybe you might like it.I will never go back it was my first and last time going there food at taco bell is way better and at least the chips are not stale. i don't know how taco Bueno stays open with such poor quality food and high price.

I thought wow, a burger quesadilla mix. What an absolute disaster. Then I ordered a side of Guac and chips, all this cost me about $12. They gave me what amounted to a handful of chips twisted shut in a bag meant for a small order of fries, and a tiny container of Guac for about $5. The sandwich that they call a Quesadilla Burrrger is horrible. A tasteless greasy patty of beef wrapped in a single quesadilla which lacked any substance. One bite and the grease from the meat dribbles out and makes a mess. My last visit to one of these stores was about 10 years ago, my next visit will be never!

Food was cold and awful today. Yuk! Not even worth the money spent. Even the food presentation was awful. Need wrapping skills both food and paper. Brisket taco must of been yesterdays. Other items were fair but messy. Drive thru attendant very friendly though.

Went there order my food waited around 15 minutes or so during my lunch went to the counter they never called out with number or name the food was on the counter but it was made wrong told the manager he went to make new food but did it with a horrible attitude body language throwing things so I left and went to Taco Bell across the street so I can cool down not be mad after eating at Taco Bell I went back to Bueno as for another manager so female manager in a red shirt explain to her what happened she looked at the other manager and rolled her eyes I would not recommend and she didn't even offer to refund my money

The absolute worst experience ever at a Taco Bueno. I ordered 3 burritos and waited over 30 minutes for them. Multiple other customers asked for refunds because they were tired of waiting. I watched the lady begin making my burritos, walk away leaving them on the prep deck, only to come back 10 minutes later to finish them. When she called me to the counter I asked her why she did not put cheese on them ( I watched her make them) to which she responded with oops. She proceeded to add the cheese and I was out 30+ minutes later…..my food was cold. I watched a customer return his Mucho box because they gave him all 12 bean burritos and he asked for 6 and 6. They pulled the 6 bean and cheese out and put them in another customer box…this customer RETURNED TO THE STORE WITH THIS FOOD. How do they know that food is safe to pass onto another customer. I took their survey hoping I could say this to the company however, they give you no room to comment. I have a feeling they know something is up, you can not review this location on Yelp…..ODD. This location needs to be shut down.

Once again order was wrong, order two beef enchilada plate got a chicken and besides that hardly put any of the cheese sauce just too great big flour tortillas rolled up and not even heated to where they were warm. This place has gone so downhill in the last year. I need some kind of new management but understands quality control. The young lady that took our order however was extremely and input of the order correctly into the system.

Went for dinner at 5:00 pm, when I went to fill my drink I noticed that both of their tea containers were expired (3:00 and 3:30pm) so I had lemonade and informed the cashier that their tea was expired. Later that evening some of my friends wanted to go to eat here and asked me to come along just to hang out and the same expired tea containers were still being served it was 10:00 pm. Clearly these workers do not care about food safety

This location use to be good a few months ago, but had completely gone down hill. The food is not fully cooked or warm, the food is put together poorly, and the employees are rude. When we went through the drive thru, the manager and employees were making fun of customers and laughing. They made us repeat our order multiple times only for it to be completely wrong.

I always go to this place cause it's down the road from where I work. But after all of my visits being terrible at best I'll never go back to this location. They always forget something salsa, sour cream in burritos, some of the burritos. Besides them always forgetting something, their customer service is anything but customer service, the service is so so bad that it's like they want you to have a bad experience and to never ever come back and that is what it seems like they strive for, especially the night crew. The managers are completely rude and unprofessional, they almost never answer when you go through their drive thru most of the time it's a 5-10 minute wait at the speaker if they answer at all. I got no complaints on the quality of the food most of the time. But whenever your open sign is on and your store hrs show you close at 12 you should give your customers some service . I wouldn't be surprised if this store ever gets closed down, cause honestly it's not a place worth going anymore especially this location on Buffalo gap rd

Gave it a second chance after a year. Bug mistake. Order wrong, re-made it, still wrong. Ordered a Beef Chilada ended up with some chicken salad thing. Used to be the Best fast Mexican food. Now it is Horrible. I hear the Judge Ely location is still good. May try it. But never again at the Buffalo Gap location.

Notice: as of 8/27/21, there is a discrepancy in the hours. They close at 11pm every day. This is posted on their door and drive thru window. I wish they were more professional with their service. They have ceased taking orders several minutes before the posted closing time and ignore the customers waiting in the drive thru. Today I arrived 15 minutes before closing and one car was already waiting. After 10 minutes the car before me left. I waited another 10 minutes before leaving. During that time three more cars arrived behind me.

Food was amazing as always considering some of it was cold…BUT THEY HAVE terrible service. I waited in the car for 15 minutes in the drive thru with my boyfriend and his family while the workers smoking outside finally returned to their job service was just terrible overall, i guess just a bad staff scheduled tonight…as I typed that I noticed the manager was in the building. Just disappointed..thank you to the poor girl at the window trying her best.

Ever since they changed the meat recipe everything is filled with disgusting cheesy brown chunky paste. They changed the menu and ruined everything, removing some of my favorite items like the burrito bowl and cinnamon chips. Also, they quit selling Pepsi products and switched to coke. It was one of the only restaurants that sold Pepsi and now that’s one more reason I would come here that no longer exists. Not to mention the drive thru is horribly slow and overcrowded any time or day of the week. Came through on a Saturday night for a quick meal on the way home and it took over 45 minutes from the time I got into line to the time I left the drive thru with my food and they couldn’t even get my order right forgot one of my tacos. I could’ve gone to a nice sit down restaurant in the time it took and probably for the same price, they jacked up the prices way too much. The inside of the resistant is filthy with sticky stained soda covered floors and it’s always freezing cold and the walls are stained. The bathrooms are dumps unfit for human survival and the drink machines and condiment bar are barely functional. They’re just as slow when you dine in. Sadly this is one of the best taco bueno locations in Abilene compared to the other ones. If you want fast Mexican go to taco casa. Ever since they opened up on buffalo gap I rarely go here. Taco bueno step up your game.

Went there tonight.They were having trouble with card reader. Let me use it anyway. It froze up. The manager came over and shut off the register. Moments later card reader said approved. I told them that and they said it didn't go through I needed to pay on the other register. I asked 3 more times if I was going to get charged twice. No they said. Got home and checked my bank account sure enough it went through. Paid twice. And to top it off they forgot to give me my side of sour cream. So in the end I paid double for an incorrect order.

3-2-18. Visited the drive thru at 8:25, got thru at 8:52. The absolute slowest service ever. When I got home all the hot sauce spilled out of the cups all over everything. The Bueno burger was not good. The last few visits have been poor, I will probably not be back for awhile.

It's way too slow. Yes I understand they are shorthanded but why do I have to wait over 20 minutes inside for an order that only 3 items. They need to correct this cause it's a constant issue at every Bueno out here in Abilene

I give this restaurant zero Stars. It took them 20 minutes to get three burritos incorrectly made. Three bean burritos with easy chili sauce... And what does the receipt say? This business is filled with lazy employees who do not listen and do not take your business seriously. I will never waste my money at this establishment ever ever again.

Worlds slowest drive-thru! Waited 25 minutes for the only car in front of me to still not get their food. It doesn't matter what or how much you order, 25 minutes in fast food is crazy. I had to backup and leave to the taco bell across the street, should of done that in the first place. Then they were out of taco shells!!! How the hell does that happen.

wasn't the best trip today. Not very busy bit yet most of the tables where dirty as was the condiment bar. All three tash bins where full with dirty trays. My order was wrong and when I said so I was just looked at. A lady pushed a button to preview the order and I was told that that was it. Nothing else was said. While eating what was given to us my mother notice the taste of the veggie fresh spray in the tacos and the chip bowls tasted burnt. Really disappointed in this place. Oh, and may I note that the bathrooms do not have changing tables. Did the corporate office forget about this one!!

If you're a delivery driver working dinner shift, avoid this place like the plague. I drove 15 minutes to go pick up an order. There were no customers in the drive thru and only a couple customers inside, yet I waited 30 minutes and still never got my order. That's 45 minutes they had to prepare 6 burritos and 6 tacos. I don't know if the employees or just lazy or understaffed. Probably both.

Wanted to give this place a second chance, so I got two party tostadas, absolutely awful. They weren’t in a box like they usually are, the lady at the window hands them to me upside down, then I get home and take them out, they are all squished and soaked in grease. Never getting anything from the Buffalo Gap location again.

The food i ordered was either broke or spilt. Taco's 🌮 were broken ,Tostada's broken mexi- chips sauce had spilt, out of bowels all over. This drive thur bite's and they had no hot sauce ,Piccadilly or anything at least that's what the girl said at the windows. Not interested 😒 anymore, this used to be a good Taco Bueno. Not anymore.

Drive thru was snippy and had very little patience. Didn't care to even look at me when I went up to the window, ran my card and then handed me my order without a word at all. I FOUND A SAUCE BOTTLE CAP IN THE MIDDLE OF MY BURRITO. If they don't care to catch that then I'm sure they aren't washing hands, etc.

After she got my order wrong, and keep in mind the reason is because she gave me somebody else’s order and didn’t care about someone else’s order and gave me the wrong order because it was somebody else’s, the girl at the cashier that day told me she would not give me my order correct and my receipt and the food correct on my receipt, “ told me you are not getting your food, sir” , Then afterwards the manager apologized and made the food in about 30 seconds, which means it was not made fresh from the back it was made from excrements And act like that, compensates me and gives them an excuse when nobody gets excuses when they don’t take responsibility for themselves and have rats in their store literally, everybody knows it around town. People have taken pictures of it. They have gotten caught With rats at their location and still have not shut down and time and time again all they do is apologize to people and let their employees talk trash to people and be super rude and unprofessional and get away with it Over and over and over again. I have never been to a taco Bueno or another taco place that is that unprofessional that doesn’t get fired and gets new management at that location. That is super unprofessional and they need new management and employees, I honestly do not understand how they even have 3.5 stars. I had spent over $40, The amount I could’ve spent at a steakhouse and still tipped somebody, that is ridiculous. They need to get somebody in from Corporate and handle this. Keep in mind in the after the fact, and the aftermath this was all over takeout, So it should’ve been easier for them there was no basic math for them to do in their head.

Had a randomly terrible experience in the drive through today when ordering 10+ burritos. After receiving our order with no hot sauce as requested we asked for several hot sauces. Instead we were given 4 hot sauces and the drive through door was closed in my mom's face. In a transaction where the only words spoken by the employee were the total for the order. It was very rude, and not a logical quantity for how much was purchased.

The food was horrible. The employees don't care about customer service or making the food fresh.

2 cups of hot sauce for 10 burritos. At that they were half burritos. 2 cars in drive thru waited 45 mins for food. Debit card in picture for size comparison.

Well, I’m just not sure! I’ll swear by the chicken quesadillas but we ordered a few different items this time. We were at the Buffalo Gap Location. Nothing was great but hey…. what can you expect?! My son had a “nacho cheese” sauce enchilada 🤮 which he demolished but he also eats dirt so I’m not surprised. He found a huge piece of plastic in the “ENCHILADAS” that he used to take jabs at his older brother at the Dinner table…. Boys will be boys. I called and informed them and they said…. They’d let “them” know. Hopefully the “them” they were referring to are customers because I don’t think I would have been as amused as my “5 YEAR OLD” to find a piece of plastic in my “Nacholada” or whatever the hell it was.
