Not many places can have a steak look like this on the outside then perfectly medium rare inside . On a very busy Saturday night they accommodate us so well ! I understand why there was a little bit of a wait with a reservation ; it’s that good . Service was great , what really stood out was the host who did everything and then some to help clear some tables out. Do not expect to spend less than 150 for two ! Deserts are a must here, the excellent food accompanied with great service made this by far one of the best “ fancy “ steak houses I’ve been too
Food was great came in on a Saturday night after previously coming in the Friday night before for dinner, it was so good we said we’re going back again while we are here in Abeline! anyways they were busy but they sat us right away we were serviced an our orders were taken within 15 minutes of taking our seats, an everyone enjoys what they do an the cooks know what there doing. Btw you have to ask for Daniel he’s the shit
Creative and delicious menu. Delightful server. We had a great time!
Perfect. One of Abilene's best happy hours.
We had an elegant dinner by the fire. Lighting was cozy and just right. Very nice wines. Server Jestic was amazing. The frozen almond dessert presented on a smoking dry ice tray was something new for us. Thanks!
Valentines day with my bride. Food, atmosphere, and service was excellent.
Feels like you’re in the metroplex. High end atmosphere and incredible food. The bar always has really great drink options as well. One of our favorite places for their lunch specials as well.
One of Abilene's 'Big 5' restaurants, uniquely designed and uniquely delicious. For years, my family had the honor of living nearby, and we ate here often. Casual upscale. A must visit!
What a delightful discovery! Copper Creek Restaurant is Texas elegant, fine dining! Tabletops are created with rustic looking copper. The chairs are of beautiful leather on sturdy wood. Hunters will appreciate the taxidermy set throughout the restaurant. The Lobster Bisque was delicious and perfectly served hot. The Crabcakes came two to an order laying on a thin layer of a cream sauce... great crab flavor! The grilled salmon had a hint of smoky flavoring and lay on a bed of rice mixed with a creamy sauce. Most importantly, the salmon was moist throughout! Staff was attentive and friendly. All were professionally attired and looked quite sharp. The woodwork surrounding the bar area is breathtaking. I very much enjoyed my short visit to Copper Creek Restaurant and absolutely have put it on my top list of places to visit as often as possible!
Didn’t get a picture because I ate it so fast. I had the fish and chips and it was probably the best I have ever had. I don’t know how they make the fish so fresh and flaky. It also comes with this amazing sauce, I believe it is crab remolode . It is also topped with crab. I tasted my friends asparagus. We went for lunch and honestly almost went back for dinner. Best fish in Abilene for sure!!!
This is a very nice spot for Fine dining. The portions are good and the selections are different from others in town. Be prepared to spend more due to this variance as well as the atmosphere! Service was fantastic for our large lunch group. We don't go here often, but it has been an excellent experience each time we have!
The ambiance, the food and the staff, what is not to love about this place? Please try their wagyu steaks, and their bacon wrapped shrimp, amazing combination . Honestly I wish I had room for dessert because they looked amazing. Drink menu is also very extensive, found all my favorites.
Traveling from Midland to Dallas and looked online for something to eat in Abilene. We scored a 10! This place was phenomenal. Service was fast and very friendly. Asked for a chicken fried steak that wasn't on the dinner menu (only served at lunch) and they made them for us anyways. Best chicken fried steaks we have ever eaten! Served with excellent garlic mashed potatoes. Almond praline pie for dessert was also out of this world. We will be stopping here again for certain!
My family and I had dinner here with some friends last night. We made a reservation early in the afternoon. The manager was helpful! The hostess at the door was very warm and welcoming! We were promptly seated. We have twin one year old boys and that sat us in a secluded area, which we were so grateful for! I didn’t want my boys to disturb anyone. The server brought bread out right away, was prompt to get our app orders, and put our 5year old’s order in with the apps. She communicated nicely, and came in checked on us through the delicious meal! My only regret is not trying to fried goat cheese salad! It sounded amazing.
The waiters were nice. He was good with the kid and got us our orders quickly. The food and drinks came perfect. The shrimp and redfish were perfect. The soup of the day was also really good. Try the spicy cocktail I liked it alot. The patio was well ventilated with a calming aesthetic.
Great place for a business dinner. While it was easy to get a reservation, we could have been easily accommodated without one. Nice variety of choices on the menu for differing budgets. The coolest thing is that the menu's are backlit, meaning they were very easy to read regardless of the overall lighting.
Really enjoyed the food and my experience here. I was able to try the poppers, crab cakes, artichoke dip with pretzel rolls, carbonara, Brussels sprouts, and crème brûlée. There was a hair in my appetizer which could’ve derailed the meal, but it was quickly rectified and the remainder of the meal was total perfection. Service was top tier and we loved the atmosphere.
This restaurant is awesome. From food to service, everything is absolutely awesome. If you're looking for an upscale restaurant for either a fun date night or even a nice place to take the family, you have found it. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a true upscale restaurant experience. Well worth the money.
Very good and creative culinary dishes, nice atmosphere and great service from Aaron O.
This is our absolute favorite lunch spot in Abilene and for good reason! Our drinks are always on point by Angela, who is always so friendly, helpful and makes outstanding cocktails from blue cheese stuffed dirty martinis, customized Mexican martinis, to smoked old fashions! For lunch we had the Wagyu ribeye perfectly cooked and so delicious with sides of asparagus and portobello mushrooms. Just exquisite all around!
It was such a nice evening with my co-workers. We had a secluded table where we were able to visit and have a nice fun time. All the food was excellent. I've never had a more delicious jalapeno popper! The service was fantastic. Our server was on point. The ONLY disappointment was the creme brulee. It was not sweet enough and the custard was runny. Other than that, chef's kiss!
Kylar was the sweetest waitress!! Manager Joe was very welcoming and has great customer service.
Went here as a late Valentines gift to the gf and the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was immaculate. We were dressed up and didn't feel out of place but if you want to dress somewhat casual and dine here that wouldn't be an issue either as I saw plenty of people in both kinds of outfits. I had the cedar plank salmon which was cooked exactly as I ordered and the gf had the lobster special which was fantastic! Definitely expect to spend a fair amount here but the service and atmosphere definitely made it worth it. Their portions are also pretty reasonable. Definitely a gem of Abilene!
Absolutely calm and relaxing place to eat , food is amazing. Love the lit up menues .
The service and atmosphere are very nice. For the stake, i think the expectations were greater than the result. A second try might give a more positive result.
I really enjoyed the Copper Creek Restaurant. The dry-aged steak is seriously the best steak I've ever had--really awesome !! The blue cheese mashed potatoes were unique and delicious. The deserts were amazing as well. Combined with the great atmosphere and service, I highly recommend this establishment!
My wife and I dined at Copper Creek for our anniversary last night and the meal and service exceeded expectations. Our server, Alexia, went above and beyond to ensure we had an exceptional dining experience. The food was exquisite and the service beyond reproach!
Really enjoyed our dinner, wonderful atmosphere. Our server, Mikayla was so friendly and attentive to us. My father in law and I split the ribeye, baked potato and wild rice while my wife and mother in law split the salmon. It was plenty for everyone. We also tried the calamari and the almond praline cream dessert which were delicious. If you like a wedge salad with lots bleu cheese dressing and bacon bits you’ll love theirs. They do charge to split the plate ($3) and also charge a 3% fee to use your credit card. We’ll certainly be back.
Good quality ingredients and very friendly staff. Great for anniversary or special occasions, rather pricey but that’s to be expected. You get what you pay for!
We went to Copper Creek last night for the first time and Adam was our server. 10/10! The food, service, and ambience was top notch! We started with the calamari and cactus. I had the stuffed chicken and my boyfriend had the chicken carbonara. The almond praline pie was so yummy. We will be back and asking for Adam!
We were here for Valentine's at lunchtime. My wife is very disappointed to find that the menu populating on Google has not been updated by Google in two years and the restaurant did not currently have crab--not Copper Creek's fault. However, when we noted this to our server, the owner stopped by our table, heard our concern, explained they had been unable to get Google to fix the problem, and offered to scratch make a seafood dish that my wife could actually enjoy. So if you don't like what they have, this is one of the places that are at the most accommodating and happy to cook what you want, within their current ingredients. THAT is fine dining in my estimation. Now there is some nitpicking that I will add, but that's all this is. Anytime the service is smart enough to call the owner and the owner is generous enough to make that kind of menu accommodation, even though it's not their fault, that is a five-star restaurant. My minor critiques of some of the food: I found the steak's smokiness to be a little bit heavy. A large white bread roll, which comes with the meal and is a bit touted, wasn't all that impressive. All that said, we loved the soups, which were the lobster bisque and a Mexican soup. I thought all of the sides that we tried were stellar, which included the baked potato, brussel sprouts, and asparagus dip. And the desserts all looked phenomenal, though we were only able to try two. The creme brulee was packed with fruit and maybe a little light on the creme brulee, but still solid. On the other hand the praline cake / cheesecake on granola crust was phenomenal and well portioned. I would strongly recommend the latter--my wife was jealous.
We have a facility just a stoned throw from Copper Creek. I never knew the restaurant was even there. I had lunch here and it was excellent! I had a salad with spinach, grilled asparagus and broccoli, goat cheese and grilled chicken. It was so freakn good! Prices are reasonable and the service was excellent. Give it a try!
This restaurant is a must try at least once, although, I can't guarantee that you won't want to return 😉 The food and drinks were delicious and the service was great! The lobster bisque was delightful! We've come here the times we have visited Abilene. Don't regret not trying it out!
My husband and I went here for a lunch date when we both had the day off. My husband had the seasonal beer which tasted of coffee and vanilla and was delicious. I had the kale salad with brussel sprouts, goat cheese, and grilled chicken. I loved it and I don't even like salads. My husband had a sandwich and there was nothing left on the plate. Everything was delicious and the wait staff was excellent. The manager who orders the seasonal drinks even came by to ask if my husband liked it. Very friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxing.
My oldest son drove over to Abilene to help me work the reptile expo his weekend and for coming to help I told him I'd take him to get a good steak dinner. We chose the right place, had a fantastic meal, started with the Calamari and Cactus which was really good but the steak was one of the best I've ever had anywere. Then he got a chocolate cake dessert and took a Tiramisu back home for my wife who couldn't come this trip. We will be returning soon.
We went here for our anniversary and it was perfect. The food is delicious! Staff are super friendly, they know how to be friendly talking, serving, but are also good at giving you your time to be together and not make you feel like they are in a rush to get you out and new customers in (we went on a busy Friday night). Atmosphere was great. Decore is well done and again for a busy Friday night, they still let you have your time to enjoy the meal and visiting without making you feel like they are trying to get the next people in. Thank you Copper Creek for making our Anniversary Dinner Amazing! 🩷
Great experience! The food was excellent, we had salmon, the grilled Caesar salad, and the Philly cheesesteak soup... It was all delicious and fresh. The service was great too - the gentleman was friendly, and knowledgeable with regard to the menu. He struck that good balance between not leaving us alone too much but also not bothering us. The atmosphere is really great as well. The decor is classy and tasteful. It felt clean and inviting. Would definitely go back! Only slight negative is the prices are a little high for what you get... But overall, it's worth trying!
We almost didn't go... My wife and I were out shopping and not really appropriately dressed for a restaurant like this, so we had reservations. We ultimately decided to go and I am sure glad we did. We were warmly greeted at the door and asked if we had a reservation and then promptly seated. I noticed at the bar at least half a dozen men in shorts and polo shirts so immediately felt better about our choice as that was exactly what we were wearing. Okay, on the food. We ordered 2 cocktails, a spicy pineapple margarita and a jalapeno margarita. They were both delicious albeit expensive. For the food, we decided to share a shrimp appetizer on a bed of cheesy jalapeno grits. So delicious! For our main, my wife ordered an arugula salad that was topped with fried goat cheese and she added a salmon fillet. I ordered a wedge salad and a steak and loaded baked potato. The flavors were amazing, everything was top tier on point and we could not finish our food. Our server was fantastic. She kept us aware of everything and had the right amount of attention to us and our needs. We will definitely be back again and again
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. They went above and beyond- our table was decorated, they gave us a card, and provided us with complimentary champagne! We had the spinach/artichoke dip which, for us, was the star of the show! Overall, the experience was fantastic and we had an amazing time! :)
| Food | 5 stars - The complimentary warm, crusty bread and creamy butter was a great start to our meal. 5 stars - The Goat Cheese Jalapeño Poppers are absolutely irresistible — stuffed with rich, creamy goat cheese, crispy bacon crumbles, and just the right kick of jalapeño. Drizzled with a silky avocado ranch dressing and topped with fresh chives, they strike the perfect balance of heat, tang, and indulgence. 5 stars - The Carbonara pasta is comfort on a plate. Tossed in a velvety sauce with just the right amount of richness. Topped with crispy, golden fried chicken that's perfectly tender inside, each bite is satisfying. 4 stars - The grilled Caesar salad was nearly spot-on — the charred romaine added a wonderful smoky depth, perfectly paired with classic Caesar dressing and generous shavings of Parmesan. The only thing missing are some anchovies on top. | Drinks | We all enjoyed the Spicy Pineappletini cocktail, so much so, we each had a couple! It was perfectly blended with subtle spice and a nice hint of sweet pineapple flavor. You can tell they use fresh lime juice. Perfection with the tajin rim. | Atmosphere | I loved the "vintage Texas" decor and atmosphere. The main dining room is gorgeous with massive furniture, wrought iron lighting fixtures, floral arrangements, and elaborate taxidermy on the walls. Pro Tip: the golden "taxidermy" figures in the hallway against the dynamic wallpaper makes for a great photo backdrop. | Service | Our server, Courtney, is all heart, all hospitality—and straight outta Texas. Seriously, she is one of the best servers I've ever experienced. She provided flawless and efficient service. We never wanted for anything - our water glasses were magically filled we needed, plates promptly taken away when finished, and somehow she appeared with perfect timing for us to order more cocktails. She knew the menu very well and made excellent suggestions. It's like she could read our minds at times, for example with splitting the check she knew exactly how to handle it for our party.
We had a fantastic dinner at Copper Creek! The sirloin was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the creamy mashed potatoes and flavorful jalapeño cheddar grits. The ribeye was juicy and tender, and the mac and cheese was rich and comforting. We started with the calamari appetizer—crispy, fresh, and just the right amount of spice. Great food, great atmosphere, and attentive service. Definitely a go-to spot in Abilene!
Came here for dinner for the first itme and will definitely come back! I was seated promptly and attended to quickly. I had the lobster bisque to start and it was wonderful. Actually had pieces of lobster in the bowl. Nice size serving as well. I ordered the special which was crawfish etouffe over dirty rice. It was pretty good considering I was in Abilene TX (no offense - but this is a long way from bayou country or the coast). The entire restaraunt was clean, the servers were great, the atmosphere was outstanding. There is plenty of room for large party seating and tables for two.
Funny enough, we didn't even know this place existed until today. Found it in a Google search. Very friendly and pleasant staff. Nice menu selections. Great food and good service. The restaurant still looks fairly new, but found out it was 18 years old. The stuffed chicken was just wonderful. The grilled chicken had great seasoning and was cooked just right. The chocolate cake though, you have to try this. If you like chocolate, even just a little bit, this is for you. Wonderful!!
Atmosphere gets a perfect 10. This is a laid back yet upscale country western restaurant. Wear your starched Jean's or Sunday best. Either way dining here is an experience everyone must have at least twice in their life. All food is a-la-cart so you can customize your dinner. Steaks are cooked exactly as you order so you dont have to grumble or send it back for a redo. Portions are big. Well worth the money. (Be prepared to pay about $30 per person ).Staff comes back in a very timely manner. Upon hearing it was my birthday, the manager presented me with the best Happy Birthday chocolate cake ever !!!! Oh my goodness !! They have child menus, large parking lot ,wheelchair reserved spaces right up front . Dine in or take out. The dining room/bar area is to the right when you first enter and is upscale decorated as well. The outside dining area is open hot or cold . I've been there during a cold snap and it actually made it more romantic. A lovely lady was singing at the outside piano/bar area. So for a fun night or date night or just to get away day, Copper Creek is the best gem in that county. Hats off to you for getting it right !
i don't remember what it was called but this drink was super yummy! The portions for their sides and appetizers here are massive! I ordered the calamari and onion rings thinking it would be just enough since I wasn't hungry for a whole steak. I ended up taking home the onion rings. The portion was gigantic.
We came here for a quick dinner before picking friends up from the airport. Drinks were good, food was decent. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak and it was extremely salty. I ordered the redfish and it was good. Don’t order the dessert though! Crème brûlée was awful, and the almond cake came out frozen and you couldn’t even eat it!
I love the food here, but the atmosphere can use some updating. It's why we don't visit as often. I don't know many people who enjoy looking at trophy kills/taxidermy while eating with their families. It's such a dated and creepy decor for a restaurant. I ordered the Cedar Salmon with asparagus, and it was delicious! Great smoky flavor, and even with ordering salmon medium-well, it wasn't dry at all. We ordered the coconut shrimp app, and, wow, it was a texture and flavor bomb! It came with 3 HUGE butterfly shrimp. Perfect amount of crunchy shredded coconut batter. The shrimp was not overcooked, and the texture was soft and not too chewy. The chili sauce had a mild kick to it, and the flavor was great. I would order 2 of those as my meal next time! My husband ordered the special of the day, which was a chicken cordon bleu. It had a hatch chili gravy that he loved. Excellent!
My sisters and I visited Copper Creek Restaurant this afternoon. This is one of the truly higher end restaurants in Abilene. The outside of the restaurant is very nice looking and was clean. When you pass thru the two castle like doors you enter into a hunter’s paradise. Leather and Taxidermy animals everywhere with a giant fireplace in the middle. We were greeted promptly by a well dressed staff member. Our drinks were brought out quickly except my Topo Chico. When it finally came it was poured table side in a wine glass. We started with the Goat Cheese Jalapeño Poppers. O.M.G. so very good. Rates right up there with one of the very best appetizers we ever tasted. The goat’s cheese, bacon, and perfectly cooked jalapeño was silky smooth, crunchy, and slight warm from the pepper. A must try when you visit here. Here is where there was a lot of conflict in the meal we ordered. We all three ordered the chicken fried steak meal. A pounded ribeye that was breaded and fried. It was served with mashed potatoes and a beautiful gravy. Both my sisters were enamored by their meals. They loved the super crunchy batter and perfect mashed potatoes with perfect gravy. I on the other hand was not so besotted by my meal. I felt mine was way too salty and way too much breading. I ended up taking all the breading off and eating the bit of steak that was left. I wasn’t even impressed with the steak. The mashed red potatoes were great and that gravy was phenomenal. I suspect it was a perfectly made bechamel sauce. I could eat that everyday. One of my sisters ordered several drinks and while they were odd pairings of herbs and alcohol it was good. The service and atmosphere was upscale and amazing. Other than myself not liking the chicken fried steak it was very good. I couldn’t give it five stars but it was a high end four.
Everything was great and packed full of flavor. Only complaint is for the price of ribeye you'd think it'd be more tender and have better marbling.
Great service, food was good, not great for the money. Stained carpets, resembling more of a bar atmosphere at half the price. Again, the service was great.
My husband said the Aged Steak was good. I Requested "GRILLED" Crab cakes 🦀 and they were GREAT!!! I'm ALLERGIC to Shrimp. I asked if they fry everything in the same Fryer, she said "Yes,"😬 That's why I requested grill Crab cakes. I pray they change this becauseIreally like French Fries.😃 I wanted Fried Catfish AND the Crab Cakes. The Molten Lava cake wasn't much "Lava" (chocolate) so it was a little dry but good flavor. The server was good and very helpful. This restaurant made us feel like we were in Alaska, very welcoming as "Copper Creek is when we go fishing." Thank you Chef and the entire Abilene, TX Copper Creek Restaurant TEAM.
I honestly wasn't terribly impressed. The spinach artichoke dip was quite nice, though I've certainly had better. In fact, my wife makes it better, but shes a stellar cook so it's a bit of an unfair comparison. The main dishes(My wife ordered some cut which wasn't the filet, so I got the filet knowing she would want to swap) were the main disappointment. The meat itself seemed high quality, but was unfortunately over-spiced like you would expect from a place selling very very cheap beef. As you might expect from steakhouse adjacent businesses, the cook of the meat was shifted slightly more toward raw than you would get from a more general establishment. I don't mind that but others might. The truffle macaroni and cheese tasted bland, was far too al dente, had a rather soupy consistency to the sauce, and in my opinion, lacked any truffle flavor. To their credit, the dessert was magnificent. It was a chocholate cake(I believe it was called a six layer), and it was amazingly rich and decadent, somehow without being overbearing. I don't know how they managed that feat, but much praise to whoever crafted it. Altogether it wasn't a bad experience, but there are many places that rank much higher in terms of the cost/value offering.
We sat right away when first arriving but waited for our waiter to see us. He and the Manager were very apologetic for the wait. It was our anniversary, and we stated that in our reservation. We received complimentary champagne. The appetizer we ordered was the spinach artichoke dip, which was delicious. I got the lobster bisque, and it was delicious. We both ordered the ribeye with truffle mac n cheese, and my husband got the balsamic bacon Brussels. My steak ended up having a hair in it. Sam, our waiter, was very apologetic and corrected it right away. It took a while to get my new dish, so my husband had to eat by himself so his dish didn't go cold. Then I ate by myself since it was served later. The Manager delivered my new steak and mac and cheese, and not only did it not include hair, but the flavors were so much better. My first steak and my husband's were not as seasoned and juicy. It was like a big difference in the quality of the cook. The mac and cheese was also more creamy. It was surprising to see such a difference in the dishes. We were not offered a discount for the mishap. However, we were also given a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Over all mixed review given our bills was over 200 dollars, but our waiter Sam was great. We feel the inconvenience of not being able to enjoy our dinner together could have been handled better. In the end we did ask if they had a military discount which was given, but that was after the bill was brought to us. 0
The food was good and the atmosphere was great. The lunch portions are much smaller than the dinner. I was a little disappointed in the service. I never received a refill of my drink the entire hour I was there. I couldn't ask anyone for a refill because once we received our food we didn't see another server until we flagged someone down to bring the bill so we could leave. I'm sure this was an off day or something. I will give it another try, but I was disappointed this visit.
You do not see an alligator hanging from the ceiling every day! I was looking for a fancier dinner on New Year's Eve and found this place. Cons: · The Price This is not a black tie restaurant, but their prices are. $32 for a steak WITHOUT sides. 2 Stars Pros: · The Experience The entire staff was friendly and prompt, even with the chaos of the holiday. The restaurant had festive hats and noisemakers on every table and at each bar seat. The place itself is decorative and interesting. 5 Stars · The Taste I ordered a Ribeye (side of garlic mashed potatoes) and my date ordered a Salmon (side of asparagus). The meal was devoured and taste better than average. I've had better and cheaper but for the part of the state, probably top tier. 3 Stars We indulged because of the holiday and would definitely recommend for the rarest of holiday or special occasions.
It’s a nice place, but the food quality seems to be inaccurate relative to the price. I had two steaks, the standard ribeye and the more expensive ribeye. They looked and tasted exactly the same cooked at medium rare. Service was good, restaurant feels a bit like a TGI Fridays with all the animal heads and goofy decorations. It’s like a California vegan came up with idea for what a Texas restaurant should be. It feels like the owners are trying to pile everyone in the main dining room, way too many tables and LOUD. Quality seems on par with any generic restaurant like Texas Roadhouse, Logan’s, etc. Nothing impressed us in the slightest or gave us the impression this was a nice restaurant aside from the prices.
I ordered to go. A wedge salad with Steak & a cup of lobster bisque. The food was really good, just a little inexperience from the person taking my order and the one delivering it to me. My lobster bisque was really yummy. Big chunks of lobster claw meat. I was a bit surprised how spicy it was and that there were chunks of green pepper. Not bad, just unusual to be spicy and have green pepper. Just a caution to anyone sensitive to spicy, has a stomach ulcer, etc. The wedge salad threw them off a lot when I added steak. It was packaged really oddly, had sundried tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes, and no blue cheese crumbles. I was staying at a hotel, so packaging in this tiny container made it difficult to eat. They also attempted to charge me for 2 salads. A tenderloin salad and a wedge salad. Instead of just adding on the steak to the wedge or just swapping the type of lettuce on the tenderloin salad. It took two trips out to my truck to resolve the pricing issue. The girl taking my order didn't know what bisque was and then I realized when she repeated my order that she pronounces it, "biskay". Lol no biggie, just a training issue, easily fixed. Overall, I would order again, but maybe be a bit more specific so I get a true wedge salad with fresh tomatoes & blue cheese.
Wait time was horrendously long with ONLY 4 tables in restaurant. Seated immediately at 7pm. It took 45 minutes to get drinks. We immediately ordered once we got our drinks due to how long it took. Then after anotjer 30 mins our 2 steaks came out. They where cooked pretty much well done, when we asked for medium rare and medium. They did ask if we wanted it recooked in a very non caring way like we would wait another long wait. Hard pass on this place in the future. Just my opinion but a $250 meal for 2 people here in Abilene shouldn't even exist if it's served like this place serves! (1 alcoholic drink was included this ticket) beautiful place, but very poorly ran and will not be back.
My wife and I have eaten here. Many times we live in dallas, and we make the drive to abilene, just to go to this place. And have dinner. Up until this past weekend, everything about this restaurant was spectacular. For some reason, it seems like the appetizers have changed. We got the jalapeno poppers which we always get, and they were terrible. They tasted like they came out of a frozen food from WalMart and were thrown in a microwave. Not what we experienced in the past. We also got the truffle Mac and cheese and it was tasteless. It seemed like it had no cheese. We did enjoy the Brussels sprouts, and as always the steaks were amazing. It's unfortunate that other items did not meet their expectation. Compared to many other visits, we have gone. If this had been the first time we went to this restaurant, we probably would not go back. But because we've had so many other great experiences, we will give it another chance. Our server seemed like she was new. Long time between our appetizers and our meals. Luckily we were on a date night so not pressed for time. Still was nothing like the many other times we have been there. To travel 3-1/2 hours each way just for dinner seems crazy but this place was always worth it. Until this time.
Three of us went for a special occasion on a Monday (many restaurants are closed on Mondays). The food was sadly unappetizing. The server only came to take our order. A different server brought the food. No server asked how it was. The music simply blared loudly from several ceiling speakers. The visual atmosphere was nice. A large mural and nice chandeliers.
My wife and I are new in town, and were in search of a restaurant we could take clients to. Unfortunately, due to the poor quality of food, and leather shoe steak, over salted food. We have decided it won’t be this establishment. Steak was sub par, mash potatoes were cold and seemed like they came from a box, with redskin added. This establishment could absolutely benefit from some new cooks. Atmosphere was great, but unfortunately the food was in line with Golden Corral.
This place is EXTREMELY over priced for what it is. The "American Waygu" ribeye wasn't close to waygu. It was choice grade, at best. The wine list is pathetic. Their "good" wine was a double price bottle of Caymus. This is a restaurant charging a Nick & Sams price for a Texas Roadhouse quality.
We waited over an hour for our food, the steak which was ordered medium rare was actually cooked well done, several other people at the table had issues with how theirs were cooked as well, wife’s fish was cold and dry as well. You cannot charge $64 for a ribeye and it not be cooked properly. On top of things being slow as we’re finishing our meal the lights all get turned on and they start to clean the place and cut music off. What is frustrating is it wasn’t our fault that our food took forever or checks took forever. But I couldn’t imagine (as a business owner myself) making someone who comes into my business as a paying customer feel UNWELCOME. Our server was tipped 20% I’d comfortably say probably by everyone at the table on checks that were not cheap. Not one manager showed up to check on the table and that also was frustrating. Establishments have bad days- understood- this bad day however is the second time this has happened at Copper Creek. I’d expect this service from Logan’s Roadhouse but not Copper Creek.
Me my niece and my kids came in to eat tonight around 6 pm, ordered calamari for appetizer, almost an hr and a half later and 3 loaves of bread later our dinner still had not arrived mind you all we ordered was 2 grilled romain salads and 3 kids meals, I asked for the ticket to cover drinks and appetizer because having been there almost 2 hrs I was just fed up and wanted to leave, the manager was nice enough to take care of the drinks and calamari but upon exiting the hostess seen how upset we were and started laughing, very unprofessional. Needless to say we ended the night eating Taco Bell if I could rate zero stars I would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND
I had the worse service and food ever so far in Abilene since I got here at Copper Creek. I ordered my daughter's food and my appetizer to come out first at the same time and my steak to come out later. My steak came out first looking like the picture below. I cut into it and it was medium rare not medium well. I had the waiter send it back and asked where was my appetizer and my daughter's food. We waited another 5 minutes for our food to come out. As soon as I cut into my crab cakes my steak came back out looking blacker than before same steak. I pushed it to the side to finish eating my appetizer. My 4 year old daughter had pizza and fries the fries were loaded with spicy seasoning. We had to get new fries. The steak was like tough burnt paper no flavor whatsoever natural or otherwise. My waiter disappeared for a little over 30 minutes. I had to send another waiter to go and find him. When he came back he said them had him fixing some boxes in the back. He only had us as a table. My experience here was the worse I had ever experienced in a restaurant in my life. It was like they were making a statement that my child and I was not welcome in this restaurant. I won't ever go back nor would I recommended this restaurant to anyone.
There is so much unmet potential in this restaurant. A $500 dinner and was disappointed at each level. The best thing I ate was the salad. If you’re going to charge for a high dollar experience then you need to do much better. Our server was nice.
From the moment I walked in I could feel the profiling of “he’s young” or “he isn’t dressed rich”. Waited over 45 min for a table. In the meantime I ordered Mac n cheese for my daughter. It took them over 30 min for MAC N CHEESE… and then we finally get sat and our server ‘MATTISON C.’ Was absolutely HORRIBLE. I had to eat my steak with nothing to drink, never got a chance to ask for a refill then as WE ARE LEAVING she puts a glass on the table??? And our food got to the table before our bread did. And on top of it the bread was cold as the ice in the Atlantic Ocean. Absolutely horrible service and the steak was MID AT BEST.. save ya time and go to BEEHIVE. They seem to be better.
