A great place to stop along the Katy Trail. It can get busy so a reservation would be wise with a large group. Outdoor seating has plenty of shade and seats.
This place is so cool! We were visiting from out of town and had multiple people recommend this spot! The vibes were all time and the food was delicious. They have indoor and outdoor options but it was a nice night so it was just packed outside. They had lots of TVs and fans blowing to keep you cool. 10/10 would recommend!
Katy Trail Ice House has always been one of our favorite hangout spots. My wife and I used to come here to unwind with a few drinks and bring our dog along — he’d get so excited seeing all the other pups outside. It’s the perfect place to kick back on a hot summer day, and now that the weather’s cooling down, it’s even better. My wife’s go-to drink is the Summer Brew which is always a hit. Great vibes, friendly crowd, and an unbeatable atmosphere!
Katy Trail Ice House felt surreal. It is an outdoors bar and restaurant at the start of the popular hiking trail, Katy Trail. You can see runners walking by. We came here for an work event. I wouldn't have ordered what we received. The food tasted OK. The drinks were awesome. There were multiple staff that helped us. We felt taken care of for a large group. I need to come back.
Gets super busy later into the evening, but when we went it was a good balance of busy but not overcrowded. Dog friendly, so many dogs! The local beer was great, and surprisingly the French 75 was delicious. Not usually a drink I would order at a place with a more casual vibe because it doesn’t always end well, but it was great.
Katy Trail Ice House offers a lighthearted and fun atmosphere. We did have to go in and out to order, as we were seated outside. We were never waited on by a server at our table, but the servers at the bar were great. The drinks and food were excellent and came out in a timely manner. Overall, it was a great experience!
We had the best time! Super beautiful February afternoon and just enough people here to make it a bustling atmosphere. Great to sit outside, enjoy lunch and margaritas while watching all the traffic on the Katy Trail. Our waitress was fabulous- kept checking in without being overbearing. Food was great. The margaritas were even better! Would love to come back when this huge place is full and hopping! Put this on your to-do list!!

Fun environment! Jalapeño app was amazing and others enjoyed big schooners of beer. Great to be outside and then walk the Katy Trail for exercising following our meetup.

Absolutely delicious food and such a fun atmosphere! We were there on a 105* day, but thoroughly enjoyed our time- thank you for the cool misting machines, and lovely shade trees!
Good food and nice location. They were already out of the BBQ menue when we arrived at 7 pm but we still managed to find other delicious options. Service could take the orders a bit faster as we had to wait quite some time to order both the food and the drinks but to be fair it was very busy at that time.

Food is good. Service can be slow but most of the time they get the order right. It is outside so seating is wooden benches at tables. Expect a wait.
Very cool vibe, inside and out. We did not eat, but drinks were great! Looking forward to visiting when it is a warmer month. The fires and heaters kept us warm though.

So, for $16, they give you 6 chips as a "plate" of nachos. I dont mind things in my neighborhood being a little pricey, but this is a bad joke.... I'm already buying drinks people, give me at least one chip per frickin dollar, or dont call it nachos. The menu is where this place falls down. The staff are badass and the venue is super cool though, so if you are on the trail I would still recommend stopping in for drinks.
Good vibes cool place crazy overpriced. It's going to cost an arm and a leg to get a drink here but the outside vibes on the trail make up for it.
Never received service as I sat at a table for 15 months. Disappointing when I know how great this place can be. Saw the servers standing in one spot laughing but no one came by.
If you look a place with very High prices for a regular food, this is the place! The drinks are expensive and it's a margarita in a can… come on! The waiting list is absurd and the people that manage the door, meh. I waiting 2 hours and when I saw inside it was like at least 10 tables free but they forgot to call me.
I came here to celebrate my sons 17th birthday. The food is overpriced compared to portion and preparation. You should not put "nachos" on a menu when you are serving six chips with toppings. The tacos were decent, but extremely sloppy, and again, pricing is crazy compared to costing (worked in F&B for 10 years as a chef). The atmosphere would be my majority of the draw to come to this establishment. I at least was looking forward to giving their BBQ an enthusiast, but it was sold out at 4 pm on a Saturday, also disappointing. The restaurant is cool outside and inside, and the vibe is good, but vibes are more of its strength. Food and presentation and execution of the cuisine are definitely lacking. Also, the adult beverage menu has no pricing and was shocked at prices when receiving the bill. I will say our service was exceptional. Our server was Maddy, and she was very informative and attentive. Unfortunately, it's not a place i would plan on coming back to except to possibly try the BBQ.

Very rude waitresses, mediocre food and they do not seem to care about customers at all. Hard pass, will NEVER set foot here again.
This is the worst place in Uptown because they treat people like crap. They don't know the meaning of hospitality...the food is mediocre and over priced ...it seems as if the management is trying…
Katy Ice Trail manages to combine high prices with low effort in a way that’s honestly impressive — just not in a good way. Let’s start with the food. The nachos were a joke. Six chips. Six. At prices that suggest a proper share plate, what arrived felt like an afterthought someone would comp at a bar, not something you pay real money for. The brisket — in Texas, no less — was dry, overcooked, and flavorless, which takes effort to get this wrong. If you can’t execute brisket or nachos, maybe rethink the menu entirely. The drinks didn’t redeem anything. Beers are aggressively overpriced, with nothing about the quality or service to justify it. You’re paying premium prices for a bargain-basement experience. Service was borderline nonexistent. Our server was rarely around, offered no proactive service, and seemed largely uninterested in whether we needed anything at all. Long stretches went by without check-ins, refills, or even eye contact. It felt less like being served and more like being tolerated. The front-of-house experience didn’t help. The people handling seating appeared young, disengaged, and apathetic, giving off the clear impression that customer experience is not a priority here. There was no sense of urgency, hospitality, or professionalism — just going through the motions with minimal effort. What’s most frustrating is that Katy Ice Trail is clearly relying on location and hype rather than execution. The concept should work. The space should be fun. Instead, it feels like a place coasting on reputation while delivering subpar food, inattentive service, and an overall sense that no one in charge actually cares. For the prices being charged, this experience is unacceptable. Dallas has no shortage of bars and patios that do this concept far better — with better food, better service, and far more respect for customers’ time and money. This was super disappointing, and I would not recommend it to anyone expecting quality, value, or even basic hospitality.
Katy Trail and Dallas, TX go hand and hand in terms of culture, and the love we hold for them both. Unfortunately after many years of love I have held for this beautiful place living in Downtown Dallas, myself and my new wife (who I was trying to convince to love the Dallas location vs the Plano, Tx location) kicked us out after leaving a 15ish% tip for terrible service. The host, whom right from the start were rude and judgmental, as if to say were we’re lucky to get seats when we did cause we got their early for the big game (OU vs TX starting at 2:30pm October 11th, 2025), service took forever to come greet us, my food came 10 minutes after my wife’s, waited close to 30+ mins for the bill after eating and asking for the bill. I would have chalked it up to how busy everyone was due to the game (OU vs TX) because I have spent the last 4 years of my early 20’s here and had no problem waiting a tad and just enjoying being downtown again for the day. However, within 5 minutes of our bill being completed (receipt signed and tipped on) a bouncer came up to myself and my wife (as we are finishing our margarita and beer while preparing to leave) to tell us that “yall can’t leave a 5 dollar tip and sit here all day taking up space and time for us on such a busy day”. It wasn’t even THAT busy (see photo attached) First of all I would never leave such a small tip as I put myself through college waiting tables and understand how many fellow waiters use their skills and TIME to put food on their own tables for their spouses and families. Secondly (after confirming my signed bill was correct for more than $20 just in case I just had a random brain fart and had not tipped according to the level of service) my wife had to stand to by the entrance to finish her full beer she paid for at the bar (after I closed out at the table, and before the bouncer came over in order to not BOTHER the obviously busy and rushed waitress) by the door!!. I can not say how mad and disappointed we are. More specifically, a place I have held dear to my heart making my wife feel unwelcome and rushed. I wish this team the best but hope they can restore some semblance of professionalism and just plain courtesy.
I have been to the Katy Trail Ice House twice. The first time I went it was to celebrate a friend, the service took excessively long and the food was unremarkable. It was difficult to get our ticket. I attempted to try the Ice House again, however, I was turned away. In the photo included I am in the white top and the patron in the black top was allowed to eat. There is a dress code posted that only mentions how men are dressed. This rule is being followed in a way that can only be interpreted as discriminatory. Tequila Social did NOT turn me away. And their tacos are delicious.
