MJ's Chicken & Rice

I am amazed by the selection. Its not like most Chicken & Rice locations. It offers Chinese food as well as the usual Chicken & Rice menu. I must say the serving portions were huge(dinner). The price was extremely reasonable. The food was commendable for this takeout place. I ordered the usual Chicken & Rice, General Tso's Chicken ( except substituted beef), Shrimp fried rice.

We came in last night and placed a pretty large order. The staff worked on it swiftly and it was out fast. The lady in the front made sure that we had everything we ordered as well. The food was also so good. Definitely coming here more often !

Delicious! This is my favorite newest Chinese spot that is very close to home. Their spicy Hot 🔥 Shrimp is very good. I'll definitely be back. 💯

The orange chicken is so saucy and crispy. Takeout was hot and fresh. The place was busy Saturday around 8PM with a line to the door. Granted there's social distancing and only a max of 10 customers allowed. It took a while to get the food but, clearly it was just cooked. Nice size portions so there's leftovers for me. I'll definitely be going back soon.

Perfectly cooked, great portions, hot delicious food. Delivery driver spoke Spanish, perfect fast delivery regardless of the language barrier. I have to note: I wish you could customize the sides of rice and upgrade them with a protein.

Huge portion of Chicken Fried Rice at at really good price. Enough for two people (or two servings). Served hot and tasty. Friendly staff, ample parking and good value for $$!

I only ever order the shrimp fried rice and it’s a hit. The place feels like a hole in the wall and is part of what looks like a strip mall.

You ever get a craving for Chinese, but your usual spot is just not doing it for you? MJ's is a great joint to get that fix. Tasty, inexpensive, and probably too much food for most people to eat in one sitting. I'll give five stars if I have the same quality on my next visit.

I'm from VA and we're not known for our chinese food but i had my one favorite place that always felt like home. I moved to TX almost 10 years ago and never have i quenched that filling feeling, till I came here. The food isn't over seasoned. It all mixes well together and isn't to heavy. The portion sizes are extremely generous. I felt like I was home. If your looking for a home cooked meal on a cold night I would recommend this location. Much love to the staff ❤️

I ordered the shrimp dried rice with extra veggies. They give you a FULL portion but it's mostly rice. I couldn't tell where they added extra veggies. There was sparse broccoli and cabbage and to top it off, the shrimp were Shrimpy indeed. Very small like salad shrimp and not many of them. For $16 I was not pleased...

This is my first review of a place by only going there once. Though being a chain restaurant I can compare this one to the one in Grand prairie. When it comes to taste the food here its definitely more oily. Halfway through my meal of the #35 I couldn't eat much more due to the lingering oil flavor in my mouth. I did enjoy the flavor of the rice, though some may not. It has a strong taste of peas and carrots which are cooked into the rice. The Grand prairie store differs from this because the peas and carrots are added after completing the rice. The orange chicken is the same. Definitely good and a great deal for the price. This is still a choice place to eat and I'll be coming here the next chance I get. I believe there is one more location in Irving I have yet to review.

I was dissapointed for a lunch special I didn't expect my orange chicken to be dry. Can't enjoy when you're about to break your teeth. IDK maybe this was a one off as I have enjoyed many Orange Chicken meals in the past.

Food tastes fine BUT WAY too extensive for what you get. Wings come with nothing. A 10pc comes with one 2oz dressing dip-I call it that cause it's just something creamy- neither ranch nor blue cheese. And literally nothing else. It's not flavorful enough for what you are paying and receiving. Customer Service was wonderful however.

Good food, and friendly service. But, their telephone only works half the time. Thus, you frequently cannot call them and place an order, and are forced to drive there, WAIT in line, and place your order. Then, you have to WAIT for the food to be prepared. Totally unprofessional for a take-out food establishment. Personally, I want to save time, by calling ahead with my order, and have it ready for me to pick up when I arrive. I cannot understand why these people will not get their act in order.

It good food but customer service is bad. I called many time to try and make a pick up due to 3 small kids it hard to get off with all 3 and wait on the food. So when I got there to order I asked the cashier if there phone worked the the cashier said it does but that they do not bother with it... I told her my situation she said o ok. And walked away. Yea I believe customer service is everything

Roach under chicken skin,cold rice,very slow,broken soda fountain,and it stank.

The rice here is SO bad like I couldn’t even eat it bad. The chicken is good though. Way overpriced if you go in person its DOUBLE the price it is online ($11 an entree) which is too much for what it is.

Place clean. Cashier super friendly. Food… 4pc chicken with fries not good at all. The chicken couldn’t be eaten. It was OLD… chewy, elastic like. Won’t go here again.

Just very disappointed in though this place was going to be good. Let's just say greasy and greasy...A lot of food for the value, but just not good quality over all

I ordered the 20 piece chicken strips but the crust was like if it was a corney dog bread, it falls right off and super thick. no sauce comes with the strips you have to purchase it, definitely wasted my money there

Horrible customer service. Everything is way over priced. $5 for a 2 liter soda! 😳 I normally got to Mr Wongs chicken n rice on Coit and Spring Valley ( and will continue to do so from now on! ) but, because MJ's is a tad bit closer, I chose to come here. NEVER AGAIN!! The cashier kept trying to up sell me every chance she got. I ended up with less food for more money. I'll stick to MR.Wongs where I can get a 20 PC with rice for $16 instead of the nonsense they serve here with rudeness. Don't waste your time nor money at this location!!!! 👎👎👎👎👎👎

They must make a habit of not getting orders right.. I ordered a 6pc chicken and rice meal and two egg rolls with a pink lemonade. The drink tasted like tap water with a hint of lemonade in it, they forgot the egg rolls, the rice was hard in places and had no flavor or veggies in it, and the chicken fingers were mediocre at best.. Bottom line, I will be going to the orginal chicken and rice from now on.. The food was trash here.. Never again..

Ordered General Tso’s and received very hard overcooked chicken! What a waste of money! Called & No Answer! It’s raining and I’m already home otherwise I’d return this mess. Will Never return to this place again. A cook knows rather or not the food is edible. Pathetic! Going straight in the trash!

No restroom for custos and the rice was mixed with hard and soft pieces. Clearly not fresh. Too expensive for the quality. The atmosphere dosen't say stay and eat. The cashier didnt greet or smile say thank you or anything.

I was just causally waiting for my food, i look on the counter, and see a Big BLACK Cockroach!! These employees have no shame, clean your restaurant! If this place is as hygienic as you are, then go ahead and shower four times on a twelve hour loop!! Don't recommend at all, left without even getting my food!! Disgusting!!!!!

I order general Tso chicken and instead of chicken I received a bunch of pieces of fat it was nasty she told me to bring it back up there and get a refund I’m at work so I’m leaving this review here to let customers know for future reference they will give you pieces of fat instead of chicken and it’s very gross and rice over cooked.
