Favorite local spot for the best Guatemalan pan dulce (sweet bread) and pupusas. I've been coming here since I was a baby. And now I bring my son to this location. The service is always top-notch. Fyi, the parking lot is small. You will most likely need to find parking along the side of the building on Pico. Also, unless you arrive early in the morning, expect long lines in the panaderia (bakery) side and in the restaurant side of things.

Excellent service and great pan dulce and gelatinas. This is definitely a panaderia you want to visit while in LA.

This place has some very good pan Dulce, there's a lot to choose from. The main item I like from the Bakery is the Picos those are very good. The Nacatamales and Cacao are also extremely delicious. I've been here so many times and I always enjoy the food here.

Good Nicaraguan food approved by my Nicaraguan family. Order at counter, some self serve tables. Need to speak Spanish to order. Overpriced but I love somewhere with no Nicaraguan restaurants so it was worth the splurge. $20 dollars per combo plate. Large Horchata was $8! They take credit card.

Quite a busy time. People ordering the ladies trying to figure out who should be on break since they were basically understaffed. Well we ordered pupusas to dine in and to go. Also some fire plantain with milk inside. Food was great and fresh. On the lower level is the bakery. They have all types of pan dulce, cakes, individual custards etc. there is a full beverage freezer. You can buy chicharron by the pound. Tortillas freshly made. Even aguas frescas to drink.

Decent food not the best but will suffice. Its kind of a run down place kind of dirty too. I only go because my wife grew up around the corner and has memories for her but definitely not because of the food. The do have picos and Milca soda. If you're in the area stop by but I don't think I'll make the long drive any more.

Food is VERY expensive and not that good. I got the breakfast combo #1 asked for no carne asada. Gallopinto tasted slightly burnt, scrambled eggs were overcooked, small piece of chorizo was dry, bread and cotija weren't particularly noteworthy. All that for $22, remember i asked for no carne asada and if you want a drink, thats extra. There's way better places for Nica and salvadorean food!

I bought 10 nacatamales a total of $90. Nacatamales are made with raisins not plums. The masa was plain, it had no flavor. I called and spoke to what seemed to be the manager and she said that the same person has been making them for years and she had no complaints. The fact that I didn't not like the taste was my problem. Bottom like, no refund for the uneaten nacatamales. I have also gone there for years but I also know this chain was sold a while ago from the original owners. I will never go there again. They may have gain $90 this time around but they are not getting any more of my hard earned money. That is a shame. Don't waste your time. My mistake, I shouldn't have bought so many at once but wanted to celebrate with my family. I didn't call with attitude and even said thank you when I hung up.

I purchased 3 nacatamales hopping to enjoyed with my family and it was the worse ever, unsalted and kinda funky taste. Last year 2024 the food it self what we call masa it was good. Price went up to for a dollar and they made it worse.

If there was a no star rating Adelita would have gotten it. One star is too much. This supposed to be a Nicaraguan place and that is the reason I go because there is no other place that cooks Nicaraguan food. This place has been declining for years but this last time, the ladies that work there were angry (no smiles), the food was cold, and covered. They only have a couple of Nicaraguan dishes and when I asked about the dishes they tried to pass them as Nicaraguans but they were either Salvadorean or Guatemalan. It is very pricey i.e. $30 for a place like this that looks it was built in the 1930s and no one has done anything to it. But besides the bad attitude, pricey food, old establishment, the services was very poor as always. I only go there once a year since it is out of my area now but I like to go there to buy some Nacatamales which keeps getting smaller and pricey, and some carne asada. Well, I ordered 12 nacatamales and instead they gave me 8 Salvadorean tamales. I was already home but the time I noticed. I also ordered a whole bunch of other stuff such as tajadas, queso, cuajada, rosquillas, etc. so I did not notice. Anyways, I called Adelita and I explained the situation to the lady that answered. She said to hold on. Then a while later another person comes so I have to explain it again. She told me is my fault for not checking and if I wanted a refund I had to drive back to their store but I am like 2 hours drive (because of traffic) from the store so it is not reasonable for me to do that and that is the reason I only go there once a year, the area is bad, no parking, horrible traffic, etc. Anyways, we went back and forth and I asked to speak to Anayeli, the Manager, to speak to her boss and she told he is not there and she did not want to give me his name and number so I insisted, she hunged up on me. What kind of service is this, where you are lectured because according to this manager, it is my job to check the orders. She was not sympathetic, and quite frankly rude. I do not do reviews because I did not believe in reviews but from now on, I am going to consider them as well. I am going to stay away from this place that has a bad attitude, the poorest customer services, rude, and not even selling Nicaraguan food. But they at least had the nacatamales and carne asada that I liked. STAY AWAY!!! I would have love to speak to the owner but he is invisible at this point since the Anayeli hunged up on me and did not want to disclose his information.

Normally I don't like to waste my time writing reviews, but I decided enough was enough. I'm in my sixties and I've frequented this place from time to time since I was a teenager out of pure necessity. This is one of THE WORST businesses I've ever encountered for several reasons: First, the service is TERRIBLE; long lines because they don't coordinate the staff properly, the attitude of some of those women attending the customer is extremely poor. The entire customer area is extremely distasteful. For crying out loud, they have the same 'shelves' and glass doors, I'm sure, for the last 40 years if not more; many a times the customer is not able to close the doors because they are hard to close. But most importantly, the main product: the bread. Horrible. Just your Plain basic piece of sweet bread. Nothing distinguishable just ordinary. No prices on items, so you just have to trust whatever they charge you. I have asked myself: but they have been in business, I am sure, for at least 50 Years, if not more. WHY? The answer is actually very simple. They have been Extremely Lucky. NO COMPETITION. Unfortunately, no other similar business has opened in the immediate area. Present ownership has had this "monopoly" all to themselves all these years. So obviously, ownership Does Not See the Need to improve the business. The customers (the fools) keep on coming. Simple. "If it ain't broke...." If another investor decides to open a bakery within a few blocks of this horrible place and provides even just a slight improvement as far as service, product, etc. than this place, she, he, they would "hit the jackpot." So, that's my 2 cents on this place. Hoping an investor reads my review. I will definitely be their first customer.

I've been coming here since I was a child. But lately, they've been making mistakes. I keep giving them a chance but this is my last time. I almost swallowed this piece of metal.

At 8:15 am they didn't have any more scramble eggs, y ask if they could make more. They said that they only make one bowl and that's it. I spoke to Sandra the manager and she said no won't make more and she said they should have offered you overeasy eggs. She is just like her employees

Isamar Arroyo
Isamar Arroyo

This place is just horrible! The customer service is disgusting! If you're going with family don't even think about coming here they will take almost 1hr per plate. They don't take your order all together and prepare it. Then they get it wrong! If they miss something on your order and you ask for it they just ignore you. Please hire people that don't give attitude when all you want is to get your food. This is specifically for the restaurant side not the bakery. If there were negative star reviews I would definitely do that. I got some platanos muchos that looked wierd and old. I'm pregnant so I ate them for my baby but I will never come back to this place. The carne asada with casamiento was nasty and the popusas were over cooked.

The food is too expensive I just order beans with pork, fried banana and small coffe side cream they charge me like a 5 restaurant and is really expensive , some should control the prices on this restaurant I consider is not regulated . Food is good but is not caviar come on

Love Nicaraguan food..this place used to have quality food and price but lately you lucky if get someone to notice you long enough to order. Food is ok but prices are too high for foam plates and plastic forks..for this price go to a place you get served. I bought a Cacao drink for my youngest son and took it home they did have ice so I said is ok. Took it home about 1 hour and half and when I got home opened it up to add ice and when I pull the straw it was gelatin no idea why. But I made a video not sure how to add it here. This drink now is $8 for large drink., even a large double chocolate chip Frappuccino at Starbucks is $5.75 today is August 8 2023 and not sure why this place still in business but I understand the nostalgic of the old country. It's a mystery why this got gelatin because if this goes bad because cut up like cottage cheese like in the old country. When they use real cacao and real milk
