We went for dinner here and the food was really delicious. It was quality ingredients as we digested really well and the staff was also lovely. They were a bit slow but bless them the restaurant was absolutely full and they were really doing their best, jumping around! We had the beef cheeks with potatoes and veggies and some others had the Milanese, all fantastic. The place itself is lovely and very pretty. Defo recommend it if you’re around!

Great experience. The restaurant was warm and inviting, as were the people. The server was playful with our son, and the manager spoke excellent English (though we spoke Italian with our server). Menus were available in Italian and English and perhaps more. They had a nice selection of unique, regional dishes, plus pizza and even a children's menu. I got the spaghettone with pheasant ragout, while my wife got roe deer ravioli with leek cream. As an appetizer, we got black rice with zucchini which had a delicious sweet sort of chili sauce. To drink, I the draft beer (la birra alla spina) which was so good. We finished it off with tiramisu and a couple of caffè. The food was elegant and elevated, but very much comforting. Everything was delicious and we waited away very happy and satisfied.

Dir und Don is traditional restaurant placed in the very centre of alagna town. The atmosphere is quite, warm and elegant and the stuff is professional and customer need focused. You can enjoy a very good pizza and If you are looking for very traditional dishes you cannot find better place. My favorite dish is “Gnocchetti di cocotte alle erbette” which are terrific.

Nel corso del nostro soggiorno ad Alagna siamo stati in questo locale molto carino. Abbiamo gustato pizze molto buone e sorbetti innovativi 😊 Buon servì io e conto corretto.

Ottima cucina, consiglio se siete nelle vicinanze. Prezzo onesto (60 euro x due persone: bottiglia di vino,acqua e due primi, un dolce due caffè)

Provato qualche giorno fa: pizza molto buona, croccante, ben condita e leggera. Al momento la migliore dell'Alta Valsesia. Servizio impeccabile, per cui mi stupisce leggere recensioni che raccontano l'opposto. Location bellissima, arredata con gusto e cura.

Qualità ottima nei mangia molto bene atmosfera perfetta, purtroppo quando sono andato io lo chef si era fatto scappare un Po di sale quindi non mi è piaciuto molto quello che ho mangiato ,i prezzi un Po alti

Ristorante nel cuore dell’area pedonale di Alagna. La location è molto accogliente e ben curata, trasmette sicuramente la tipica atmosfera di montagna. Le ragazze che ci hanno servito sono state molto gentili. Purtroppo però l’esperienza non posso definirla come positiva. Abbiamo atteso più di mezz’ora per le pizze, che tra l’altro avevano un impasto poco soffice e delicato. La nota più stonata però è stata l’antipasto con la mocetta e la mozzarella. La mozzarella era fredda di frigorifero ed evidentemente non fresca ma industriale, le quantità ridotte; il tutto al modico prezzo di 16€. Purtroppo non soddisfatti

Not All Meals In Italy Are Perfecto =( Sadly, I can not rate Dir Und Don higher than a 3.5/5. It started-off by them not deciding what time they open. I called at 5pm (listed as their opening time), and asked if they were open, to which we were told "Si!". Walked to the ristorarnte only to be told that they now will not open until 6pm (I edited their time on Google). We were seated by the same person that turned us away, with no apology for the confusion. Within less than a minute the server came to asked what we wanted for dinner. We ordered four plates (Polenta w/Egg & Truffle, Veal w/Tuna, Potato Soup & Tagliatelle w/Ragu); none of the dishes were beyond warm, 3 (includes the pasta & polenta) were cold, w/the veal being fresh-out-of-the-fridge cold, and the truffles had turned---yah, don't order something that's out-of-season. After each meal was brought to the table we were not asked if all was good, nor were we offered freshly cracked black pepper---actually had to get their attention to ask, but were only give a small grinder. The price for 4 dishes and a bottle of red was just over 100euros, which is fair. If it was higher I would have sent back the cold dishes! It is a nice looking ristorarnte, with a good view, but I am there primarily for the food, and both variables are far down my list on how I rate a place. Will not be visiting Dir Und Don again.

Dopo aver prenotato alcuni giorni prima, arriviamo e ci viene detto che non “ fanno tavolate” dunque ci siamo ritrovati divisi in due tavoli separati, 4 persone in uno e gli altri 6 in un altro. MAI CAPITATO. Se al telefono fossimo stati informati saremmo andati da un’altra parte. Abbiamo aspettato le pizze un’ora. Pizza mediocre. Servizio poco attento: abbiamo chiesto raviolo senza la granella di frutta secca, sono arrivati con la granella! L’ Ambiente è caldo e accogliente, molto curato.

Purtroppo è sempre così anche quando vi erano altre persone a gestirlo è sempre stato così anche in periodi non con tanta gente dicono se nn hai prenotato nnn c’è posto e vi era solo un tavolo con persone gli altri tavoli vuoti e così sono rimasti x l’intero pranzo anche oggi una ragazza carina aspetti che vedo invece è uscita una signora maleducata che ci ha detto no nn c’è posto e la sala sotto vuota

La buona ristorazione non è solo la cucina ma la cortesia ed il servizio. Il proprietario già si vede come risponde alle recensioni e l'arroganza non si può premiare

Mi sento in dovere di lasciare questa recensione per evitare che altre persone facciano il nostro stesso errore. Ieri sera sono stato a cena in questo ristorante e ho assistito a una delle esperienze peggiori che mi siano mai capitate. Appena entrati non siamo stati minimamente considerati: siamo rimasti in piedi davanti all’ingresso per circa 10 minuti, ignorati dal personale come se fossimo invisibili. Una volta accompagnati al tavolo, la situazione non è migliorata. Ci siamo seduti e siamo stati lasciati lì per altri 15 minuti senza nemmeno i menù, senza una spiegazione, senza scuse, senza alcuna attenzione. Un trattamento imbarazzante e irrispettoso verso i clienti. Un servizio del genere è semplicemente inaccettabile per un locale che pretende di far ristorazione. Organizzazione inesistente, personale disinteressato e totale mancanza di professionalità. A rendere il tutto ancora più grave è l’atteggiamento del locale nei confronti delle recensioni negative. Invece di fare autocritica, rispondono in modo maleducato e offensivo, arrivando persino a insultare chi esprime un’opinione negativa. La prova è visibile pubblicamente nella risposta data a una recensione di una mia amica, presente qui su Google Maps, dove il cliente viene trattato con arroganza e mancanza totale di rispetto. Questo atteggiamento conferma la totale assenza di professionalità, non solo in sala ma anche nel modo di rapportarsi con la clientela. Un ristorante che risponde così alle critiche dimostra di non avere alcun interesse a migliorare.

These people don’t know what hospitality or service is. They sent us away because they were ‘ full’ although all the tables were empty and 1,5 hour later they were still ‘full’ and still the restaurant was empty. Worst attitude ever.

15 minutes before the kitchen closed they had all the free tables reserved, obviously so that we could not sit. When we finally sat on a free table, they came to tell us this is also reserved. Rude, unfriendly personnel, burnt pizza. Indoors too hot in Summer, with no air condition.
