The rice included with your dish is shaped like a pyramid. Great belly dancers. Food so good I scarfed it down in minutes. The service is nice and you feel like you’re stepping into Egypt. A gem of this city.

It's $25 buffet, every Sunday night from 7:30 pm, they have belly dance show and live music. The belly dancers are so amazing, they're so pretty and professional. I really like the live music from those musicians too! I like their rice, fish, chicken and dessert. Bob is really nice! Great service! The bathroom decoration is so nice too! Overall, great value. Highly recommended to come here to eat and entertained at adorable price.

A real Egyptian restaurant. The colors, the decor, and most of all the smells. Nice space, comfortable seating, beer and wine on offer. What a great menu, so many choices in addition to daily specials. We shared the maza for 2, how delicious was that! So many excellent flavors and textures. I had to get the koshary, a staple of the cuisine, and this one was one of the best I've had, Even the sauce was excellent, not too spicy. We had a great time. They have music and belly dancing on the weekends. Enjoy!

The food was excellent and beautifully presented, my favorites were the kushari (koshary) and the falafel, but everything was absolutely delicious! Amar and Sausan were incredibly gracious hosts. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon! Support this little SF gem!!! There’s nowhere else like it! Feels like being in a really nice place in Egypt with friends and family. It’s a very special place with so much love poured into every detail. (Literally the best falafel in the US, and the ONLY place to get real authentic Egyptian food in SF!) Also be sure to grab one of the special sesame cookies by Dancing Cookies there’s nothing else like it. Great baklava too. I could go on and on about all the things I liked here. The decor is awesome!! So cozy too. Incredibly eclectic fun vibe. Check this place out and support local woman owned restaurant! Thanks again to everyone here.

They are very inclusive of their performers with ladies at different skill levels and ages, but all are accepted and supported. Very fun!

I recently visited Al-Masri Egyptian Restaurant in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond neighborhood, located along Balboa Street just a short distance from Ocean Beach. The area is known for its diverse collection of small international restaurants, and Al-Masri stands out as one of the few places in the city focused specifically on Egyptian cuisine. The atmosphere feels intimate and welcoming, similar to many family-run restaurants found throughout the Middle East. The dining space is modest and comfortable, with décor that hints at Egyptian culture through artwork and decorative accents. Rather than feeling commercial or overly polished, the restaurant carries the charm of a neighborhood spot where the focus is clearly on the food and hospitality. The menu highlights traditional Egyptian dishes that showcase the country’s distinctive flavors within the broader Middle Eastern culinary tradition. Plates such as koshari, grilled kebabs, falafel, and slow-cooked stews reflect the hearty and spice-driven cooking style that defines Egyptian cuisine. The dishes tend to emphasize ingredients like lentils, rice, chickpeas, herbs, and well-seasoned meats, creating meals that are both satisfying and deeply flavorful. Service during the visit felt warm and personal. Staff were attentive and happy to explain menu items, which is helpful for diners who may be encountering Egyptian dishes for the first time. From a global travel perspective, the experience reminded me of the small local restaurants I have encountered throughout Cairo and Alexandria where hospitality, comfort food, and generous portions define the dining culture.

Absolutely disappointed.Food was very mediocre and not even close to Arabic cuisine. Hummus was yucky. I’ve had better hummus even from a grocery store! The main course lacked any taste. The only saving grace was perhaps the coffee. Never ever going back again.

This was the worst meal I’ve eaten I San Francisco by a lot. Like shockingly so. The belly dancing was amazing. The chicken tasted like fish. The fish was cold. The vegetarian dish was literally potatoes and eggplant in like warm tomato sauce.

I ordered koshry and it had nothing related with koshry from the taste, to the ingredients and too much rice and over cooked and no chick peas and even the sauce is just tomato purée with salt no taste at all and after i said i don’t like it, The chef was American white woman claiming she is Egyptian and she doing it perfectly and maybe my family doing it with another way and telling me why u don’t like it and even after i explain it to her she say i send the plate messy lol i told her thats how we eat koshry, you’re supposed to mix everything together so how come she doesn’t know the koshary dish is supposed to be eaten and claiming she doing it perfectly she was hella rude and aggressive while she was talking to me but the waitress was nice and friendly tbh. Horrible experience from the food and quality of service.
