I had discussed tong yuen with someone and wanted to try it. We went to this place and I had my girlfriend order since she knows Cantonese. The service was good and friendly. We got tea in glass cups that were hot to hold at first. The large TV was playing an animated music kids show that seemed like an educational show. The tong yuen was very good.
they have the 拉腸粉 hand pull rice noodle here!!! super yummy, also recommend their snow mochi. I think the milk tea is not too good here, would go else for Milk Tea, but otherwise, if you want traditional Hong Kong food, this place is legit! also price is super cheap!!! this is for sure a hidden gem in Chinatown!
I've been here twice and their food is pretty good. You can tell the drinks are made with real fruits: mangos, strawberries etc. their teas are also very fragrant! The rice rolls are also pretty good. The popcorn chicken is so good and crispy. I would probably choose a savory dish over sweet as sometimes they don't have certain items but the desserts are still better than others.
It was really good, its a very friendly place, people are nice!
This place has all my favorite Hong Kong desserts. I ordered multiple, and they were all yummy! Thank you! I also appreciate it’s open late and they had some savory dim sum snacks to accompany our desserts
Waiter was very nice and friendly. Person who took our order gave us some nice recommendations for what to eat and they were all delicious. My personal favorite was the green onion pancakes and they were SO delicious. Had a bathroom which was nice. Makes their own strawberry and mango mochi and it was delectable. When we asked waitress if she could take a photo of us, she responded yes and made sure we had photos from every angle. So yummy.
I have been coming to Hong Kong Dessert for three years and always have the best Xiaolongbao and Durian Sago. Great food and great people. Must try in Chinatown.
This is my spot ! Everything is good. Place is clean . Staff is wonderful !!
best orange chicken ive had in my life, very quick service, the milk tea and smoothies are excellent and priced very cheaply for how good they are
I was so blown away by the Japanese-style mango mochi that I had to leave a review right away. The mochi was unbelievably soft—literally melted in my mouth like a cloud. The mango inside was perfectly ripe and sweet, and the dessert overall wasn’t overly sweet at all, which made it absolutely perfect. We also tried the strawberry mochi, which was just as delicious. It’s coated in coconut and filled with a fresh, juicy strawberry—simple, fresh, and really well balanced. If you love light, delicate desserts that aren’t cloying, this place is a must-try.
All I can say is wow. The restaurant place is a bit small but their food is amazing. We were so full leaving. I really liked the atmosphere. The host was very accommodating. My mom loves dimsung and everything was closed but we found this place that had a little bit of everything on the menu. The milk tea was incrediblely delicious.
Their popcorn chicken rice meal was top notch! Good place for snack or brunch! Old & young people alike will love this place with their boba milk tea fusions and traditional Chinese food meals. There’s also a TV for a quick entertainment.
So fireeee were from New Orleans and I recommend fully. The orange chicken, pot stickers, bbq pork buns, and soup dumplings were epic and they play chill music. Dont pass this place up!
Came here with my bf and the customer service is phenomenal! The manager was always smiling as me and my bf are wonton soup and the chicken and rice. The food is above decent and whole not perfect, I tasted the homely feel to the meal. The chicken was tender and not stringy while alot not overcooked to death! It's a small place but the owners made up for it while the best decor they could find. At worst, it's a hole in the wall food shop. At best, it is a homely restaurant comparable to a Japanese place that is both welcoming and a pleasure to eat at when the outside world is chaotic... Try it once before judging.
Came here for the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and it was incredible. Only giving it four out of five stars because it was missing the fried Thai basil that typically comes with it and also needed the chili powder. Otherwise it was a really delicious snack.
This review is for takeout of their popcorn chicken and grass jelly dessert only (ignore the noodles, I made those). Their popcorn chicken is perfect. Light batter, not oily, not salty. Batter is really light in color, which is a good sign because it means they didn’t over-reuse the frying oil which a lot of places do. Only thing missing is basil (which I just added in myself lol). The grass jelly dessert with red bean, boba and taro balls is also great. It’s not too sweet and there’s so much topping. This is now 10000% my go to spot for Asian dessert and popcorn chicken.
This place is legit. You got the iPad kid in the back. There’s Chinese songs playing on the speakers, the owners speak some English and the prices are SUPER cheap. we got mango sago and popcorn chicken. 10/10 place!
i got soup and noodles! it was really fresh and tasted good. also the lady was super sweet!! they didnt have any vegetarian options but she made sure to get something for me also gave me a free fortune cookie with it <3 i have also previously tried their boba which i really liked! would highly recommend this place feels very cozy, just be sure to carry cash otherwise you’ll need to pay extra charge for card.
Are you looking for a cozy chinatown nook with a wide selection of low-price but delicious classic chinese dishes and desserts? Look no further because this place is wide open and ready to be your second home. While ever-lasting love is never guaranteed, you will surely fall in love with the hianese chicken or the REFRESHING tofu pudding with watermelon in syrup. Seriously a place you should know if you love asian food and boba, but also enjoy not spending alot of money.Go stop by for a break in your Chinatown adventures or make this a regular ravishing routine.
We only tried a drink to go, it was not very busy at all and super quick to get the pre-made drink in their cooler. It was SUPER delicious and like nothing we've had before. A custard bottom layer and then a mango drink on top with very tiny boba or maybe tapioca. It tasted a lot like Mango Lassi but with the pearls adding a nice texture.
Delicious food and reasonable prices! Definitely recommend the BBQ pork. The taro boba was nice too
This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the Hoi Nam Chicken to go, I was attracted by the price, it was only $10, so I wasn't expect too much. When I ordered it, I didn't realized I got a choice for soup or a milk tea drink. I was surprise again. The chicken rice and the milk tea were much better than I expected 😋 . I highly recommend it given the price for this combo is unbeatable nowaday on San Francisco. I will come again for sure and will try out different things. 👍🏻
Metro Milk Tea is a must-visit for authentic Chinese cuisine and outstanding boba tea. The menu features delicious chicken noodles and flavorful orange chicken, alongside classic dishes like Kung Pao Chicken. Their boba tea selection, with perfectly brewed flavors and chewy tapioca pearls, is exceptional. The friendly staff and inviting ambiance make for a delightful dining experience. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stopped in for a mango pomelo sago drink and can confirm it is as delicious as everyone else has said here. They use a good type of mango, and the sago and cream topping were creamy and sweet without being too much. It reminded me of a mango lassi!
This is hands down my favorite Hong Kong dessert place in San Francisco. Whenever I am in Chinatown I'd swing by to get the mango sago pomelo dessert drink. They source the right type of mango (sweet and soft), are generous with their mango and have the right mango to coconut milk ratio. I've also tried their set meals a few times, both dine-in pre-Covid, as well as delivery via UberEats and DoorDash during the pandemic. The set meals are very good value for money as the portions are generous and you get the drink and dessert at a discount. I've also tried a few other desserts on the menu and they're all pretty solid and authentic.
Small restaurant in Chinatown that serves food and Boba drinks. We were glad to see it was open later on a Sunday evening, as most stores in the area were closed. Drink took a few minutes, but was fresh, cold, and good. They also have popping boba. I would recommend giving them a try.
I wanted some desserts that wasn’t fried. The owner recommended the double skin milk with mango and I ordered the sweet potato, taro QQ balls with grass jelly, adzuki beans. The price was very good for the size of the desserts. I was really impressed with the double skin milk, it was very smooth and delicious! I’m going to come back to try their other offerings.
Traditional Chinese food and Dim sum the won ton soup had noodles which was a nice surprise. The green onion pancake was delicious!!

Packaging was perfect and organized for an Uber Eats order. However, egg noodles were way overcooked and unseasoned. And the soup on the side had gone slightly sour 🤢 And it was the wrong type of soup for Cantonese noodle (in) soup. Milk tea was good, though, and the BBQ meat portions were generous.
Tiny casual eatery in Chinatown, SF. The service was ok. The food was inexpensive but good. It’s more for drinks and desserts than food. There’s not much atmosphere to speak of. Basically people come here to eat and go. It’s more of a practical place. We ordered: 4*Stir-fried Garlic Green Beans 䔉蓉四季豆: excellent! The green beans were cooked crunchy. It was not salty but flavorful. It’s pretty greasy to get that texture. 4*Secret Shredded Chicken 秘制手撕雞: it’s a cold dish. Chicken with bones, mixed with cilantro, spring onions and crunchy peanut. Good texture and flavor. 1*Soup cabbage上湯白菜: it wasn’t a soup at all. It seemed to me all the wrong ingredients were mixed together. Cabbage, pork, ginger and preserved eggs. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to cook preserved eggs in a soup. Anyway it was a plain flavor. I wouldn’t order it again. 4*Red bean double milk pudding 紅豆双皮奶: the portion was big and not too sweet. I liked it. They are known to have the best milk puddings. There are three varieties. You may choose mango, durian or red bean toppings.

I ordered from doordash and even after waiting for an hour, they still gave me that order. Therefore, all the customers and parents should not order from this restaurant because this restaurant cannot spoil your enjoyment time.
Food was basic. Nothing special about it. I would not recommend going especially because they harassed my sister into tipping. They didn’t really attend to us, just gave us our food. We were going to tip anyway, but the way they told her she can’t leave until she tipped was ridiculous. The food isn’t worth it, much less being harassed.
Horrible service! I went there at 2 PM, and half of the tables were empty. I ordered 4 boba teas to go, along with 2 kids, and sat down to wait for my order. A waitress told me to leave and said we weren’t allowed to sit there if I only brought boba tea. The boba tea I ordered with 25% sugar tasted like water.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The workers are not the problem, but the restaurant manager or restaurant owner seems really discriminatory. A family that bought some items asked if they could use the bathroom, and they were turned away. I was a dine in customer, but if I had known that they had such a discriminatory policy, then I would not have ordered food there. I already had an off feeling about the place, since the set menu items don’t include a side or a drink like other places. So that might tell you something about the restaurant manager or restaurant owner: they’re not generous. At other Hong Kong style cafes, you can get a main dish, a side food item, a drink, and sometimes more. I’m not from Hong Kong, but the reason I go to Hong Kong cafes is because you get a good value for the price you pay. Not here though. I would suggest going most places except here.
The food is okay but the service is SO HORRIBLE. The waitress couldn’t care less about how long you wait when the food was just waiting in the kitchen. She first bossed me about where to sit, then refused to take my order when I wanted to add an item - pointed at the self ordering machine and left, and lastly, she refused to give me a takeout container for my leftovers to go while saying “it’s no good it’ll charge you money” I would NOT go again even if the food was free!!!
