Ordered 2 masal chai and vegetable momos. The chai was freshly made and that too without sugar on our request. The veg momos were good in taste and amazing chutneys. Although I like the veg momos with more of cabbage, and they had carrots and peas. This was the first time I had this kind of filing and it was actually good but given an option I will always prefer cabbage based veg momos. The main course was amazing, we ordered Laccha parantha, it is HUGE, palak paneer and baigan Bharta. It was all amazing. We ended with a complimentary Kulfi. Special shoutout to Deepak, our server who was very polite, amicable and made our dining experience pleasant.
The restaurant has a great vibe. The owner is incredibly friendly and immediately took the feedback that I gave constructively. He also gave complimentary dishes to take home. The Gobi Manchurian was fantastic. Would highly recommend going here just for the people and the staff.
I love this place! Amazing food. Super friendly staff. I take everyone that visits SF here.
This is my favorite spot for Indian food in the area. Their naan is some of the best I’ve had here and the service is great. Normally comes out to $30 for a main dish and naan with tip so a little on the pricier side (depending on what you’re used to) but well worth it.
Nepa graciously accommodated our reservation of 15 mixed age revelers. The hospitality and service were top-notch, they allowed for special wines brought in with corkage, and helped pace the meal, which was served family style at our request. Loved the tikka masalas, the naan, chai - everything we ordered. We so appreciated all our gracious servers. We will be back.
Went there with our baby, had the best experience we've had in the whole bay area. Amrit was fantastic, he was warm, welcomingn and offered our baby complimentary lassi!! Food was well made, tasty and appropriately priced. Highlight of our day in SF.
The food is flavorful, fresh, and well-balanced - rich without being heavy or overly oily. The curries are aromatic, the naan is soft and perfectly cooked. The service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great place for a casual meal or dining with family and friends.
Nepa Indian Cuisine in San Francisco is an absolute gem. The food is awesome and the host is truly amazing. A special shoutout to the Chicken Everest Momo—it was incredibly juicy and had that authentic North East India–style momo taste that’s hard to find. You can tell it’s made with real care and authenticity. What really stood out was the service. The host was extremely welcoming and went the extra mile to prepare a fresh hot sauce specifically for the momos, which was a lovely touch and elevated the whole experience. That level of attention and hospitality is genuinely appreciated. Also, a quick tip: their naan is HUGE—almost the size of two regular naans, so keep that in mind when ordering. Highly recommend Nepa Indian Cuisine to anyone looking for authentic Indian/Himalayan food in the San Francisco Bay Area. Will definitely be coming back when we are in SF.
We started with the Chilli Vegetable Momo which was exceptionally amazing. Then Chicken Tikka Kebab was tender and juicy. In main course, we ordered the Vegetable Tikka Masala which perfectly cooked veggies in a creamy paste. The Pesto Butter Naan was cherry on the cake. The best part is their hospitality and warmness. Would surely come back here.
When the power went out in SF Nepa was one of few places still open. We thought maybe it'll take awhile - but the the food still came very quickly and was delicious. They're Naan is also one of the best Ive ever had. It was like a croissant texture almost. Crispy and slightly flaky but still nice and buttery. They had candles so the tables had visibility and where somehow still serving mango lassis without power. Huge thanks to Nepa for feeding us when everything else was closed. A true blackout hero.
I went for a late lunch around 2pm and was seated immediately. They gave a free papad, and I ordered the butter chicken masala and garlic naan. The garlic naan was massive, so it makes sense that it was $5, and it was pretty good. The butter chicken masala was very creamy with a little spice. In terms of flavour, it wasn't my favourite but still quite good. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would return to try more dishes!
We went for lunch today. We felt very much welcome and felt at home in this place because of Janarthan who was very polite and friendly who speaks English as well as Hindi and Nepali . This was the best Indian restaurant serving the most authentic Indian food I ever had at n this part of USA. I loved the lamb curry suggested by the friendly Janarthan who took our orders. The fried momos were beyond words as I always have steamed momos. The tandoori platter, garlic naan all other items were perfect in taste catering to our Indian buds. Spice was adjusted to our needs. The complimentary masala tea Janarthan offered me as I spoke a bit of Nepali was out of the world. Ambience was great with Bollywood songs playing on the TV in the background to take the experience to another level. Would be my place to go whenever I think of Indian food . The gulab Jamuns to wind up the dinner were perfect.
Oh boy, I don’t even know where to start. This restaurant is by far the best Indian & Nepalese restaurant that I have ever been to anywhere. This restaurant beats any Indian restaurant in SF by any measure. The food is so tasty, so flavorful. The service is out of this world. The atmosphere is superb. The prices are extremely fair. As soon as we sat, they were bringing complimentary appetizers with some complimentary house sauces. Every food we had was 10/10. This is definitely paradise for food lovers. I have been to almost every Indian restaurant in the city, no restaurant comes even close to this one. I think Nepa restaurant is even better than some of the best Michellin Star Restaurants. I feel like royalty there. All staff members are absolutely friendly, smiling, very helpful. They are amazing people, both employees and even the owner. I have not enjoyed going to restaurant as much as I did going to Nepa. I am now 💯 loyal customer. Forget about any other restaurant l, come down here, you won’t be disappointed ever. This is heaven for foodies. Restaurants, please take a note about how to run a restaurant from Nepa. Learn from them. Cuz this is how you do it. Thank you Nepa Team for taking absolutely amazing care of your customers. We see you Nepa Team
My family, including picky eater kid, loves this place. We've been back multiple times and they treat us so well. Food is done to our preference not spicy for the kid but I'd prefer a little spice). Our usual order of chicken tikka masala, tandori, (salmon or chicken) are some of our go-to dishes. The complimentary crackers and sauce are awesome.
The best food we have had in SF. Stumbled upon this restaurant on our visit to the Alamo square. It was a foggy evening and we ordered Momos, Chowmein. Everything we ordered was Amazing. The Gulab jamun was lip smacking. Ended the meal with masala chai. Not jut the food but the service was exceptional . Do give this place a try and you won’t regret it.
Nice casual environment. Food was incredible, over ordered to the point of scared. The Hot is perfectly spiced, I debated going higher but what am I trying to prove? - lamb biryani - chicken Tikka masala - garlic naan - Momo's Momo's we're incredible, a surprise highlight on top of a delicious meal.
Absolutely Amazing Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic Nepali and Indian cuisine! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and friendly smiles by Surender. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Now, the food—simply outstanding! Every dish was bursting with rich flavors and perfectly balanced spices. From the aromatic curries to the freshly baked naan, everything tasted homemade and full of love. The momos were a highlight—juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal. Whether you’re a fan of Nepali or Indian food, this place will not disappoint. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience! Will definitely be coming back!
My daughter and I went there around 2:30 on Saturday afternoon, so not too crowded as we were not in prime time. The staff was very friendly, however and we were impressed by the care he took to make sure we understood the menu We even got a complimentary dessert. This is a new restaurant right on Divisadero and worth a visit. They have a fair amount of vegan options with even more vegetarian options. They also offer gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions.
We’ve ordered takeout from this restaurant numerous times. This was the first time that we came for a sit down meal. The staff seemed overwhelmed with the patrons who make reservations vs the walk-ins. Lineup and make sure to let them know that you’re there. Don’t assume that they’ll honor your reservation as some pushy folks can barge their way ahead of the line. It wouldn’t have been too bad if we could have drinks while we waited. By the time that they seated us (about 30 minutes after our reservation) we still had to wait a while before we got our menus or our drinks. We were there 2 hours and about 45-60 minutes was waiting in line or at the table. If they have their act dialed in then it should only be 1 hour or 1.5 hours if it’s a leisurely meal. We didn’t even get comped a drink or appetizer for the hassle. While the food is good, do a take out instead OR if you want a sit down then go somewhere else til they can get their act together.
We went to this restaurant after seeing the high ratings but are thoroughly disappointed with the food and ambience. From no angle you can call it as Indian cuisine. It’s more of Nepalese. The veg chilli momos were mediocre. The lamb dish was half cooked inside and unchewable. On our request they took it back to kitchen to recook but the result was nothing better. The Paneer tikka masala was nowhere a tikka Paneer. Paneer was again not soft and ordinary tasting. What surprised me the attitude of staff - they went around with their business chatting themselves a bit louder to keep the desired decorum. Nothing wrong to enjoy your work and be casual but I think they should be more mindful of customers. Finally to make it up, the lady staff did bring for us complimentary Gulab Jamun. Appreciate the gesture but still the could not bring down our bad experience.
