⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars Tartine Bakery absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff was patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable — even during a busy brunch rush. The standout dish was the soft-cooked scrambled eggs with caviar. Perfectly silky, rich, and buttery, the eggs were cooked to that ideal custardy consistency. The caviar added a beautiful pop of briny flavor that elevated the dish into something truly special. Simple ingredients, executed flawlessly. Of course, the pastries and bread are phenomenal as always, but the combination of exceptional food and thoughtful service is what really made this visit memorable. An easy 5 stars — can’t wait to come back. 🌟
The sourdough bread at Tartine is the best in the city. Manufactory is their best spot for brunch (other locations are smaller, more cramped and the Sunset one imo as good quality). Their tartines and sandwiches are pricey but delicious. The tuna, hummus, avocado sandwich is one of the favorites (can easily be shared). The salmon tartine is also solid, especially with a side of avocado. The banana cream pie is also a must! For dinner, their meatballs and the Margherita pizza are great, easy options.
We had a lovely time here! The ambiance, service, food, and drinks were all incredible. I was looking forward to trying the morning bun, and let me say I fell in love. We ordered many foods and pastries, and we loved everything. The smoked salmon toast was my favorite. Will absolutely be coming back, could not recommend even more.
We love Tartine Manufactory! The food is fresh and delicious and the ambiance is lovely. We lived in SF for 5 years and came here all the time for pastries, so we had to come back on our most recent visit. All of their pastries are delicious. I particularly love their almond croissant the best. And their country bread -- yum!! The breakfast sandwich is incredible - the eggs are light and fluffy and it has a tasty sauce. My husband loved his omelette too. The ambiance is great, especially on a sunny day! We love checking out the newsstand and Heath ceramics store next door too!
Stopped by Tartine Manufactory and tried the broccoli soup, salmon sandwich, mocha, and chocolate croissant — everything was great. The broccoli soup was comforting and flavorful without being too heavy. The salmon sandwich was fresh, well-balanced, and filling with high-quality ingredients. The mocha was rich and not overly sweet, and the chocolate croissant was perfectly flaky with a generous, gooey chocolate center — easily one of the highlights. The atmosphere is open, modern, and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed brunch or coffee break. Quality ingredients, consistent flavors, and a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in SF.
Edit: full 5 stars. I ordered 2 scones (chili and cheddar I think) and a artichoke danish to go. I heated them both up in the toaster oven before eating and they were SO good. Normally not a fan of scones because they tend to be dry and while I wouldn't call these moist (especially compared to the danish) they were not dry/crumbly either ORIGINAL REVIEW 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Great atmosphere, restaurant was nice, food was good. We waited in line for about 15 minutes around noon on a Tuesday and were able to find a table fairly easily. Surprisingly busy for a Tuesday but it was also veterans day. My favorite dish was the avocado tartine. Although it is a simple dish they dressed it up so it was my favorite dish for this visit. Also had the turkey club that had crispy chicken skin in it. Nice twist and very tasty, salmon tartine, and the carrot/fig salad. The salmon dish was solid. Salad was good but I think next time I'd like to try one of their soups. All the breads were super fresh and tasty too. For a sweet treat, we also got the Apple hand pie was also tasty. I would have appreciated this better if they gave us an option to toast or warm this one.
13 of us dined here on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration. We had the fixed chefs menu, and to say that no one leaves hungry is an understatement! There was such an amazing variety of appetizers, salads, pizza, and desserts! We had five courses with 13 different menu items brought to the table shared family style. Our server was attentive and made sure we all had a special evening. I would highly recommend Tartine for any occasion if you want delicious food, a nice atmosphere, and excellent service!
The croissant was so good with a proper crunch followed by soft buttery layers. The ham and cheese worked well together to make this a savory bite but it was surprising that the jalapeño slices were essentially like eating the raw pepper (not great - but overlooking it because the croissant was so good!). I wish the croissant was warmed as it probably would have taken it to the next level. That aside, lovely atmosphere at the Manufactory with lots of seating and natural light. They also seem to be using plates from the neighboring ceramics shop which was a nice touch. There was a short queue outside the building on a Saturday afternoon but it moved quickly.
Tartine never stops exceeding my expectations. Every time I visit, I’m blown away. The sourdough bread is absolutely spectacular—perfectly tangy and elastic, a true testament to quality craftsmanship. All the ingredients are top-notch. The turkey sandwich was simply sublime. I especially want to highlight the hospitality and service of Juan. It’s clear he’s a genuinely kind person—gracious, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. His warmth truly elevated the experience. We’ll definitely be coming back to Tartine.
Great, down to earth atmosphere...the sourdough bread and butter is a must! I also tried the salmon Tartine sooo flavorful! Sraff was so helpful!

Great bakery items but the full brunch menu is fantastic. Great coffee and lattes too! The ambiance and space is much bigger and cooler than their bakery location IMO.

Friendly attentive staff, very short menu with lots of add ons available. Very good food, pricey. Interesting industrial ambiance.
Love the vibe, love the food… but we need to talk about the matcha. I’m just visiting the city, but as a daily matcha drinker, I feel morally obligated to speak up. For $10 (matcha + alternative milk + tip), I was expecting calm, creamy enlightenment — instead I got hot clumps and confusion. Quick matcha survival guide for the barista team: • Matcha ≠ tea bag → never boiling water • Whisk/blend like you mean it until the powder actually dissolves. Food is genuinely great, space is cute, energy is right. Just fix the matcha and this place becomes dangerously good. A visiting matcha snob with good intentions
We went to this popular place for brunch. The line was long but it did move quickly. There was ample space indoors to sit. The service was quick. We ordered chocolate croissant, mushroom soup, crispy potato, smoked salmon in toast, quiche of the day with a latte. The dishes were hit or a miss. The croissant was not the best. I have had better. I found it hard to bite in. The mushroom soup was on the sour side. Not to my liking. Loved the quiche, the salmon on toast was yum and so were the potatoes. It's a good experience and I might wait a while before I decide to go back. Bought back a loaf of buttermilk bread and it was yum!
Wait is okay on Sunday 12pm. Breads are better than the croissant pastries. The focaccia smells so good….definitely worth a takeout for next days breakfast. The Cappuccino is a little confusing to me since the cup is so small in diameter and the foams are not thick. Okay for a bread store~
This place was definitely worth the hype. I really enjoyed the chocolate cake, it had the perfect balance between cake and fudge, and when I say it’s to die for, I truly mean it. The salmon toast was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The jalapeño croissant was also good; the jalapeño flavor was there, just not spicy. Overall, it’s a solid spot to try, though their items do lean on the pricier side.
At Tartine, one must do counter order before getting a table. The pizzas we ordered had very good crust and feesh-tastinf toppings, although one pizza was slightly undercooked. The Green Goddess Salad with sliced cucumbers, radishes, and apples as well as sunflower dukkah was refreshing and delicious!
Came here on a Saturday morning and wow the line was so long! Good: - The bread with butter was amazing even though it was just bread! - The egg sandwich was amazing - really liked the combo of cheese with the bread - The seating is plentiful and it's very beautiful inside, modern and upscale vibes Bad: - The line is definitely long, we waited about 45 min to get inside - The staff are always walking around and watching to make sure people aren't sitting for too long - it's nice but it's also a bit anxiety inducing Overall this place was beautiful inside, and glad that I finally got a chance to eat here!

Used to be great. :-( We ordered my favorite melted cheese sandwich which used to be delicious! Now, you’d be hard pressed to find any cheese on this sandwich. Really a bummer!

My partner's latte and my cortado were both made with very sour shots, and her Latte had the largest foam-to-liquid ratio I had ever seen! The spinach and artichoke Danish was good but the croissant was quite eggy which was a bit of a turn-off. Given all the other places in the city that do good coffee and pastries I wouldnt come back.
Came in Saturday morning. Waited about 40 minutes to get in, only one till was open. Got a cappuccino that was very hot, needed to wait 10 minutes before I could even start drinking. Butter for the bread they brought deeply frozen. Scone tasted meh. Perhaps in the US this is a good standard, but coming from the Northern Europe - this is way below our standard. I’m comparing to Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden in particular. The space itself looks cool though. But food and drinks don’t justify the time and prices.
