My dad is very comfortable. Very friendly staff and super clean.
I call it Roy Wilkens community center. Great community asset-poll,weight room, gym, meeting rooms.
The most important mission of the entire staff is to provide the best care available for Americas veterans
I went there for a housing information. They are very good for explaining everything and making sure you understand.
This is a former Naval hospital that now serves as a veterans clinic and nursing home. This facility serves all my immediate medical needs.
I volunteer here every now and then nice place to go share with the elderly
They need volunteers to help with the Vets.. If anyone is interested, go to the veterans hospital. Saint Albans.
Way better than Manhattan
They take care of Veterans and their families. All times courteous and friendly. Love going there.
My father was here for the last days of his life, and although it is a hard time right now the staff were and are very helpful and loving.

Its a good place for a family gathering and we had a blast for my mother's birthday!!
Friendly to me. I have mixed reviews on the v.a. as a whole. However I had a good e6
Everytime I go there, the staff is always so respectful. Plenty of parking. Need an ID to enter premises.
The people at the Saint Albans are really trying to go out of their way to care you when visiting I was very please to see the effort. Thank you all.
Very nice staff, building is clean , everyone there are pleasant especially Mrs.Guthrie
The goings-on at St. Albans Naval Hospital on Long Island were enough to make any Navy captain blink. Sailors and marines were involved; so were WAVES and civilians. It was happening in phone booths, on the ladders, even in the middle of the corridors. To tough-minded Captain C. F. Behrens, executive officer, it was a matter for emergency action. He drafted a stern, four-paragraph memorandum: "Lovemaking and lollygagging are hereby strictly forbidden. . . ." Then he got right down to cases. "The holding of hands, osculation and constant embracing of WAVES, corpsmen or civilians and sailors or any combination of male & female personnel is a violation of naval discipline. . . ." Captain E. D. McMorries, medical officer in command, backed him up. Said Captain McMorries: "The decorum of the institution is paramount." Time Magazine, 1946
This Va hospital has been essential in providing my healthcare..from Dr. Orbach to the security officers. Unfortunately the kitchen has closed down which i think is a huge negative for the staff and the veterans living on site. Thank you all for the support given.
St Albans is part of the VA New York harbor healthcare system it's more of a clinic than a full service. There is a state veterans home on the grounds there is also one or two floors where there are hospital services. From what I've heard they'll be upgrading Shane opens by moving the clinic portions to a new area. Don't know when. I've been using St Albans VA facilities for a number of years now have fun and convenient doctor's a friendly and the staff is friendly. But the VA upgrading facilities we're likely to find an increase in care. That's good news all around.
I love this place. The staff are very friendly set of people. They love talking care of the veterans. I love their hospitality and their hospice unit
I was lost, thank goodness that I met a wonderful woman who works there who helped me find out where I needed to go. I remember she told me her name was Ms. Duncan. She was moving her car & she seen me completely lost. She took time out of her day to make sure I found out where my loved one was. Thank you Ms. Duncan for helping me when everyone else walked past me, except you.
I only went here to get my covid vaccine shot, the staff was nice and were ready to answer questions. Not sure if I'll be going back there anytime soon but while time here was short it was still a good experience all in all..
I had in general, EXCELLENT service by the staff. My brother SERVICED in the Army and he is a patient at the community center. He is happy 😊 and well taking care off. God bless you all and Thanks! 😷
Loved it RIP to my uncle jonny buggs love you so much great place there were very nice an it felt good celebrating my uncles life thanks again an my grandmother had her celebration there as well RIP granma Kelly one love bless up ........
The NYS Veteran's home is the cleanest and most efficiently run nursing home I have ever seen - and, believe me, I've been in dozens. There is NO smell of either urine or cleansers, the residents I've seen are happy and the staff is cheerful and hard working. I cannot believe my good fortune at having found this place for my 96 year old father.
Awesome staff. My father, Mitchell Hardy passed away on January 7, 2016 at the Palliative Care section of the Department of Veterans Affairs in St. Albans Queens, NY. I really appreciate the care and commitment of the staff to honor the vets and help the families as they go through the process of letting their love ones make their final journal to their resting place. Thank you Staff of St. Albans. I especially want to thank Winsome Dyer, Arlene Blackett and Chaplain Edward Conway for making yourself always available to answer questions in a caring and loving way. This was not an easy experience, but helping to prepare our family was extremely helpful and very much appreciated. Just so grateful, my dad, Mitchell Hardy was able to transition from this world into an earthly kingdom with dignity and love.
My daddy just passed away and he considered this his home and all that took care of him and loved him we're his family and will always be a part of our family..He had the best care and was the happiest here @St.Albans .God Bless all that have been a part of my Daddy life for the past 4 years. Not to mention Dad had left from here to the Navy in The 40's....and returned here when he was injured. So it's really his home for the past 70 years😊
Never been inside but the grounds look well kept.
I was very quiet it look quite ok.
Limited parking though due to Covid 19 Restrictions.
Lots of space to have safe fun in!
If you are a veteran and live in Queens this place is for you come see for yourself.
Strict security. Pleasant personell. Clean
Nice facility to see an event.
My daughter works there where the Veterans are serviced in a timely and respectful manner.
VA hospital outpatient clinic appointment. Well organized. No delays.
VA Nursing Home and Outpatient Clinic. FREE shuttle to/from VA Brooklyn (Ft. Hamilton). Adult Day Care, Pharmacy and Gift Shop
It's convenient to get to with plenty of parking space.
Good VA Hospital. Take good care and veterans. Staff members are Professional.
Parking in back friendly service,q vegan butter omega3 whole wheat bread fresh. Great flavored water tropical style
Tried to call some how got transferred to Brooklyn campus but other than that when I got here straight to the point down to business. Went for administrative papers work.
I visited my brother and I found that the residents were kept occupied and happy. The staff are very friendly and the facilities are clean.
Great place to see performance art south Jamaica just right behind the park nice facility
Stayed there about 4 months with a spinal infection. Staff and administration were friendly and efficient. Cared for most of my needs. Food was decent. I did not care to be institutionalized however. Not their fault, Kind of out of the way.
I have no complaints about the place itself. The issue is, the two buses it takes to get there. When the weather is nice, I walk there quicker then the bus commute when waiting between transfers are taken into account.
I enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's because of the wide variety of organic products and snacks. The fruits, vegetables and flowers are very fresh and the prices are reasonable.
Just visited a friend but from what I've thought; pretty good.. not my type of living but hey , if I would have to I will... And I believe that I'll be good there..
i never been here but i need google review points for a level 3
Very nice and clean service!
I'm sorry I don't remember going there.
Has a very nice park, great place to play basketball
Very poor with returning phone calls when trying to find out how your loved one is doing. They need better response time to eliminate concerns
Some people have a calling. THEY shine brightly.Others earn a pay check & do as little as possible This place is under staffed. The clothes dryer in one unit has been out of service for over 5 months. So much for "Laundry Week". The food is awful. They need better funding. Maybe next election.
Couldn't get ant help, thisbis not a hospital
The Patients Should Be Treated Better ... No Where To Sit When U Visit Love One's😢
Improve staff teams toward caring, respectful, patience, to all senior citizens.
Place is terrible never going again but the nurse are nice and place is clean
Live there short staff Nurse having to work 16 hour shifts 20 men on the unit and most times there only 2 aids the floor. When I first came to this place there was 2 nurses on the floor and 3 aids to help. Now the staff does a great job and work short handed all the time and they work they real hard to take care of everyone. THEY NEED MORE STUFF.
I’ve been on the phone waiting to make an appointment. Wait time went from 16-37 minutes 39. I call at 4:07 it is now 4:46 Aren’t they closed. Shameful! SMH
1 star for the friendly people within the facility. Besides that, lazy workers. At least within the registration department for veterans. Me and my friend were the only two people waiting outside the office for hours. No one was at the front desk the entire time until it was 12. At that time, someone came out to tell us that we had to wait longer because they were going to lunch. Dont waste your time registering here. Do it somewhere else.
Good luck trying to schedule an appointment with the optometry. Ain't no way they are that busy to Schedule 3months out. Smh
This was the most horrible experience of our lives my husband will most probably never walk again and nearly died had I not insisted they tend to his severely infected knee. They are devious deceitful and dangerous. A disgrace to the healthcare system. A perfect example of why the VA is failing our vets. A textbook example of sociopaths.
