This place has been around for as long as I can remember! Good old fashioned down home meals, the staff is always so kind and courteous.
Yummy 😋 Breakfast sandwich 🥪
I've been coming here for years. Food is simple and decent.. The wait staff is good.
I always enjoy my breakfast there. Great service and friendly atmosphere Thumbs up to the two sisters.
The food is amazing and they give you good portions, the customer service is also on point
I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years.. And i will be God willing for another 15! Great people have come and ate here!
Best breakfast in the area in my opinion. Very consistent food is always good
I was a little hesitant to eat here, but it was great! French toast and grits! Very friendly staff.
Food was great. Cash only though
Pricey but good. I love them all, very warm and friendly. Don't mind paying the price
Good diner food. Staff very friendly!! Been going there for years!!
Food was excellent first time being here me an my lady been trying to find a diner we can call home since USA diner shut down this'll be our diner from now on 💯
This place is as plain as they come, but the food and the service make it a great place to get a quick bite that's unpretentious, downhome, and a good value. Try it. But be warned, there's no bathroom.
Only place I know in queens giving me fast service and good food all at once . I never wait no more than 15 minutes for my food or even less.
The service was good and the food was cooked very well. My husband recommended it . Ended being a great selection .
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!! I will admit I am particularly biased to this diner, this was my local greasy spoon. I grew up in a house right around the corner from them before kids. I mean coming here for a breakfast sandwich since HS. I mean they know my whole families order and always ask for my kids. The sweetest owners ever!!! This is the breakfast spot on merrick blvd a staple in the area. This part of merrick is not as bustling as it is going towards laurelton but this diner is. Their speciality is breakfast and they make it just the way you like it. Fish and grits, eggs, homefries, toast, sausage, bacon, etc all taste like a nice home cooked meal. The diner isn't huge, about 6 tables seating 4/5 and counter space but if you want to sit my Queens people are very considerate, usually people eat and get on with their day. They also serve lunch but breakfast is where it's at.
For many years this Diner has always been a family-friendly great food eating great atmosphere and Lisa she's amazing
The staff is very respectful, & responsible. They also provide fast & friendly service to customers. They can also cook very good.l, & their prices are also good.
ICONIC. This place is exactly what you want it to be. Do not change a thing. Old school neighborhood, culture diner. Everything delicious and made to be authentic. All about this place belongs in this historical neighborhood.
My goto spot for grits. Just what you expect from a classic greasy spoon. Loved by the neighborhood
My brother& I took my daughter& her 3kids 2brunch! We were seated, treated well, ate pancakes, sausages, bacon, etc & had a great time!!!
This is one of those small blue collar diners in which folks come for breakfast Any time of day! My go-to is the plate of cheese grits, scrambled eggs, bacon & toast with the free super mini OJ. Delish!
Been coming here for decades, my grandmother actually use to frequent this place when I was a child 35+ years ago! Great breakfast choice in the area!!
There food is delicous my first time going to eat inside the lady at the register is very nice even over the phone you will enjoy
Best food in the neighborhood! Great staff and management! I come here for breakfast almost everyday!
Cannot believe this diner is still here and open. I worked at the Ford Dealer across the street (now gone), and had breakfast there every day.(1970’s). The interior looks unchanged.
The absolute best diner in queens hands down. theyre breakfast menu options are top notch. The grits are flawlessly made, true southern style. Food is served to you at perfect temperature and has amazing taste. Management is great and the servers are as sweet as they come. This place is a true hidden gem. I try to come here as much as possible. Highly recommend to anyone trying to get a bite to eat in this area!! one of my favorite spots and i am super picky about where i eat!! Overall 10 out 10 experience!
Old Fashion Diner that aims to please the customer! Food is GREAT. It's very hard to find good food prepared just as you requested these days. Happy I found this place. Very friendly customer service as well. Overall A+
I found this Diner after looking up "Diners near JFK." We arrived, and met Mrs. Ash(our server), she was so friendly and welcoming. We placed our order (Shrimp and grits, Pancakes , sausage and eggs, Spinach Mushroom omelet and grits.) It was all so DELICIOUS!!! 😊😊😊😊The only disappointment I had was my toast was a little hard, but my daughter liked it. We will certainly be back. Thank you Mrs. Ash!!🙋🏾♀️
There's nothing like a classic diner, that home feeling The waitresses the coolest hell and the owner is a great person 10 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to the whole crew
Always good food and great service
This diner has been a Success for years because they care about the customers so there food an service is has an always will be great. Everyone goes there. Sanitation, ticket agents, police an even the big rig truck drivers. There service food an atmosphere has always been above an beyond
Wow, who knew? Just wanted to stay local & have a Good ole fashioned medium rare Burger … Welp, Springfield Diner Delivered! We found this place, went in n ordered. The waitress was pleasant, the atmosphere was cozy n the food was perfect, just what we wanted! This lil place is a neighborhood Gem n they have repeat customers that are known by first name basis😊 Love it, it’s like Cheers (the bar on tv)except it’s a Diner in Queens with great food that’ll keep you coming back! So glad we found this place!
This is not the fanciest place at all. But the breakfast is always good. My husband and I come here for breakfast. As a matter of fact my dad before he passed away came here for years. He could never understand how the chinese chef could make such good grits.
I love love this place! Ive frequented this diner for MANY YEARS! They've always been NICE, food has always been ON POINT and hardly any waiting time! Shout out to my girls in there! Cya soon love, "RED".
Great local small diner. This Diner been in the neighborhood for years, although many other larger diners have closed. Just love having a country breakfast..
Has a very Mel's dinner feel to it for all my 80's babies. Ask for Lisa, tell her Charlie Sent you.
This place was good. Service was fast and nice portions. I think it was a little pricey but it was worth it. I would highly recommend it.
I've lived in the neighborhood for almost all of my life and have passed this diner daily. Always hearing lots of good things but never had the chance to go in, I decided after my haircut appointment to stop in on a Saturday and try the food. I ordered pancakes, pork sausage and eggs. The food did no disappoint. The people/staff were inviting and the atmosphere was fairly lively. For a small place it was decently packed. For the food I received, the price was more than reasonable. I will definitely be going again and trying more things on their menu.
Great Mom and Pop Diner. If your looking for a quick and cheap place to eat . Food is awsome. Staff very humble and welcoming. Cash only , Atm on site.
I came for breakfast. The restaurant it like a Cheers. Everyone knows each other, and the owners are glad that the neighbor supports it. The restaurant does need a lot of work with it's appearance. The food is tasty. Staff it super inviting.
As I walked in here with my sons, the atmosphere and people was very welcoming. Despite the old fashioned look, the food and warm service definitely didn’t go unnoticed. I love this place ❤️
Stopped here after taking someone to the airport and did a Google search of breakfast places nearby… Server was so nice. Menu and atmosphere very simple. Seems like a tight knit group of friendly employees I got the French toast and turkey bacon.
Atmosphere was tricky. Olde diner needs some updating but owner so friendly that you forget and prices so reasonable. I'LL TAKE IT..THE OUTSIDE will make you change your mind but food was sonfresh and inside was so cleannnnnnn!
Needs to be updated, need to use real cheese. Especially being the most expensive hole in the wall diner. I don't mind spending $25 for a breakfast plate. Just give me real cheese and thank you for still offering rye bread. Owner remembers everyone by face . Good people
The food was good and i enjoy the salmon cakes. I will return.
A little hole in the wall with good service and great food. In desperate need of updating but I overlooked that and thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast.
The best greasy spoon. The place is NOT pretty but the staff is the best. The food is good.
Greasy spoon with great salmon croquettes(they are actually made of mackerel). They only take cash and close early, so get there when you can.
Best coffee I've had in years!! The salmon cakes were really good so we're the grits.
Go for breakfast food only. Not bad. Local spot, good average food, great service.
I have always pass this place we decided to go in one day food wasn't bad, service was nice and fast. Not much seating. They are only open till early afternoon. They are not open 24hours.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and food service at this diner. The staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. I am comfortable here.
Well I'm going to be honest with you. If your a health and fitness nut this place is not for you. This is good down home type of food. So I love it.
Been coming her for years...the owners/staff are very friendly. We've been friends for a while. The food is normally above average good.
First time, food was good and fresh, customer service was friendly and spectacular. I would definitely go back and reccomend!
If you're from the south you know grits aint supposed to have sugar in milk in them. They know how to cook grits here. I marked my GPS so I can get a good breakfast when I'm in Queens.
Very clean. I ordered grits and it was rich n creamy. Definitely going back!!!
The tuna melt was super tasty. Added spinach no problem. Nothing really seemed to be a problem, as it should in a dinner. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Decor is a bit dated but we came after going to the park with the kids, and the food really hit the spot. Cash only. ATM on site. Would not hesitate to go back.
This place has been around a long while. Seen a couple of management changes throughthe years. Great neighborhood spot and although parking is limited in their lot, one sees many pull up in front with their hazzard lights blinking. Currently, the service is very attentive. Had a very early breakfast and the food was on the table within minutes of the order.
The restaurant is small, very casual and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and professional and the food is good and prepared quickly but you never feel rushed. The owners even welcome you when you enter the premises. I enjoy dining there.
Basic diner food done well. Place could use an update/renovations and heat. Otherwise, you can rely on great taste, fast service, and the basics done well.
This place has been around for a lot of years, it's only open for breakfast and really lunch, as it is one of your old school diners from like the sixties; it has that kind of feel to it. It's about the size of an oversized trailer, with a short-order cook that you can see while he or she prepares your food on the grill. For a breakfast place it's a great place to stop by for a quick bite... they also have turkey and fish, for those of us who do not eat beef and pork. Small lot in the back for parking
I would give this place a 5 star however it's a very outdated diner. Very small. Perfect for a quick breakfast. Staff is very friendly. Food was good. Like I said if you're looking for a quick breakfast this is the place.
Food was good. I gave it 4 stars because they didn't have any menus. They don't give you water unless you ask for it. They also needs to get a credit card machine. It's cash only. Place needs to upgraded.
I may not say cozy, i would say fair place. Cheap food (good actually), decent interior, ok - service. Shall not expect anything fancy but yeah, good breakfast - as always. Parking in the rear spot, sense of humor is excellent, cash only.
Simple Dinning for a quick Bite price is a little too steep for Basic Breakfast Plus management take the waitress tips and put it in a jar which is weird 🤔 my harsh Brown was burn and 3 stripes of Bacon, this place can be much more better.
Been here, servicing the community for years. And now you can also get them to deliver via delivery apps.( Uber Eats) “Do Not Put Ketchup on My Breakfast Sandwich” (Unless Requested)
My brother introduced me to this diner and I frequent it very often, awesome hostesses and friendly atmosphere.
This place is the epitome of greasy spoon. Order the staples and you'll be satisfied... not the place to be adventurous. The service is friendly and attentive... they will quickly learn your name and greet you as such. Service is fast.
Very small and quaint establishment. Customer service was great. They aim to please the customer's request to the best of their ability. Food tasted great. We had grits with cheese, eggs, toast, and coffee. Suggestions to make the experience better: modernize and repair the tables and seating, serve coffee in a coffee mug instead of a paper cup, use laminated menus for each table. Overall, I will patronize again.
The food and service was great as although the place is very small and needs renovations. A true whole in the wall.
Friendly service. Not the best decor decent food. Breakfast a little pricey for this place
The customer service here was very good👍👍👍 and the food 🥘🥓🥚is no different from the typical New York Diners. However, this place need a SERIOUS overhaul. It's very dingy and run down....It's an utter disrespect to the community and to it's patrons.☹👎
The food is tasty but they need to clean the wall and equipment better, friendly and well mannered staff but an inside cleaning and updates would drew a better flow of people
Grits and eggs were good. The only complaint I have, is the owner and workers appearance could be better. You can see months old stains on black apron.
It's honestly alright. The food is nothing special. At all. I've been to McDonald's with better breakfast foods. However, it's simply a treat to come here in the morning and hang out. This place would honestly be maybe 8/10 if the food weren't so lackluster. 6/10, would probably come again (in half a year)
Place was rinky dink and price for 1 breakfast was $18.75. Wayyy to much for one person. Food was good though. Had grits w cheese, bacon and eggs. Coffee was disgusting.
I got pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage and bacon. The food was OK, but not so great and they forgot to give me butter for my pancakes. I would recommend just going to IHOP for basically the same price
Good place for a quick breakfast. The food is prepared well and not expensive. The owners are nice people. I like to go there for breakfast, scrambled eggs with grits and salmon cake.
Thank goodness food better than service and atmosphere. Serious upgrade needed. Cash only? Should do better 🤔
Been going here since I was 4 and it’s been 2-3yrs since I came here and to be honest mann they eggs good but the french toast needs some work it ain’t the same.. our tastebuds different tho you should still go cause they food aint bad since I been going there for over a decade.
Over priced for a low budget diner. Cash only. The manager is rude. They do deliver but its a $15 minimum. The food is okay. Lazy service.
They totally ripped us off. There is no menu. She charged us what she wanted.
Food is ok but the place needs a serious upgrades been there over 40 years and the same equipment same place reservation for real but outside of that good food poor waitress services
I have been coming here for over 25 years . Back then this was the place to eat , currently in 2025 , I’m done ! They are beyond expensive . Cooking the meal way too fast . I sat down in the seat and sunk . Why is it that this place makes so much money & it’s so run down . Inside is unbelievable ! Renovate! It’s tacky the menu , the signs being wrote on a piece of paper . For the place to be so expensive they need to decorate . I was so disgusted I had to get up and take my food to go . I won’t be returning anymore . Two adults and one child the bill was $53 . That’s ridiculous for breakfast.
One of my worst dining experiences ever, I ordered the fish it was basically burnt and inedible . My coworker ordered sausage on a hero, there was sausage on one side of the sandwich and the other side was all tomato sauce.
We walked in and no one greeted us, so after about 5 minutes we sat in a booth after sitting their for approximately 15 minutes we walked out, no one said anything to us, even though we observed two waitress doing nothing at different intervals.
I think yall should just close.
I left! I am confused about how their able to cook, serve/sale food in this place? Everything is ran down, the owners should be embarrassed to say they own this business and the employees should be embarrassed to say they work here....
Orders grits and fish and beef sausage and receive a pork sausage and the grits were not cooked and the fish was old
This diner has been here for years today I went to have breakfast and the prices are so high I walked out as though I was robbed. 2 eggs (Spanish omelet) NO meat and 5 small slices of avocado. For me and my daughter. COST $35.00…. I disputed the bill and of course they blamed it on the pandemic… If the prices are that high they should give you a menu…. Which they no longer have. For now on I will take the drive to USA diner.
Food was hot, and came out fast. But beyond that, there’s nothing else I can say that was good. Food had no flavor and was too expensive for how disappointing it was.
They kept messing up my order normally they don't but today was ridiculous. They kept messing up my sandwich after IT SAYS ON THE ORDER THE TYPE OF CHEESE I PAID FOR. Why not ask the customers what type of cheese I want, the kitchen area is so small it's like 4 people working in one small area. I had to like 20 minutes after I walked back to the store to get my order redone . Do not know if I'll be ordering from here again
On google they paint a good picture of the establishment however upon going inside to order 1 they don’t take cash 2 the place was not of a grade A source I saw something in my food did not even eat it disgusted and the cleanliness of place was not great at all I can only assume they paid to get that grade A overpriced food my recommendations do not eat here oh and the atm buttons were so filthy unacceptable if I weee to grade this place it would be a complete shut down
They shut down and open back up so many times. I wouldn't dare.
I called to place an order and could not get a cheeseburger with curly fries. I was told they only had plain fries, they also didn't carry coleslaw. The food was disgusting. Cheese not melted, bread soggy and a hidden pickle under my fries. It was a flat, frozen patty that was not cooked all the way. Sad because I normally order breakfast from them but last week my cornbeef hash was burned.
